Since I moved in on October 31st last year, the company has been accepting money orders
Since I moved in on October 31st last year, the company has been accepting money orders. However, the employees have been stealing them or misplacing them frequently. It has become a recurring issue where they can't find the money orders for rent. Their behavior is unprofessional and it has been happening almost every month.
There's mold on both walls behind the hot water heater in the pantry
There's mold on both walls behind the hot water heater in the pantry. I've contacted you multiple times through work orders, phone calls, and in-person visits to the office, but no one has come to fix the issues as promised. I'm tired of constantly reaching out about work orders and being lied to in person and over the phone. I've mentioned several times that we've been getting sick because of this mold, but nothing has been done to address our safety and health concerns.
So, today I found this note on my door, right?
So, today I found this note on my door, right? It said I gotta pay some fee 'cause I left my trash outside the trash compactor. So, I go to the office and talk to this lady, and guess what? She tells me she ain't gonna remove the fee! Can you believe that? She expects me and my daughter to either climb over the huge pile of trash or move it all ourselves just so we can throw away our own garbage. Like, seriously? That's just plain nasty and unhealthy, man. They want us to deal with everyone else's trash or risk our safety by climbing over it just to get to the compactor. But you know what? The person who should really be charged is the one who put their trash in front of the compactor first, blocking everyone else's way. I mean, come on! The trash at this place is always piled up high right in front of the compactor. They seriously need to put more of those things around the complex, 'cause having just one for everyone ain't cutting it. I shouldn't have to put my safety and health at risk by moving other people's garbage or climbing over it, or else they gonna hit me with a fee. It's just not right, man.

On September 04, my apartment got flooded 'cause a pipe burst in the unit above me
On September 04, my apartment got flooded 'cause a pipe burst in the unit above me. So, on Monday, I went to the office and asked to be moved 'cause my roof got damaged and the smell in the apartment was awful. Cathy, the regional manager, told me that I could move at the end of the month 'cause there wasn't an available unit. I was pretty mad, but hey, at least it was an option. They sent some company to clean the carpet on 09/10 and when he was done, I found mold in my daughter's closet. I immediately called the emergency maintenance line and they told me I had to wait 'til Monday to deal with the mold. Monday finally came and they wiped the mold off the wall and said that someone would bring papers for me to sign to speed up the transfer 'cause there was a unit available. But guess what? It's 09/30 now and I got kicked out of the office for getting upset about their carelessness. Can someone please help me out? I've called corporate and they ain't doing anything! I'm a single mom with nowhere to go.
Since August 2022, me and my kids haven't been able to stay in our home without getting sick from the mold
Since August 2022, me and my kids haven't been able to stay in our home without getting sick from the mold. My 5 children have been living in this apartment for the past 3 years, and there haven't been any updates to the appliances. The old stuff is falling apart, and there's also a pest problem in the whole apartment complex. All I want is for the apartment to be livable again, nothing more. At first, the new manager, [Manager's Name], said she could smell the mold when she entered and offered to move my family to a different unit. But now, she hasn't responded to my recent email asking for an update. So, I went to the office to ask about it, and [Manager's Name] immediately started verbally attacking me, saying she won't do anything because it's a housekeeping issue. But there's hardly anything in the home, just beds and a couch. I asked her what she meant, and she said the walls. I'm confused because I have 5 young kids. We understand we might need to paint the walls, and that's not a problem. We need things to be fixed. That's completely unrelated. Please get in touch with me as soon as possible. I've already hired a lawyer for the apartment problems.
Dalcor Companies, located in ***, has been notified multiple times about the living conditions in my apartment
Dalcor Companies, located in ***, has been notified multiple times about the living conditions in my apartment. I've been dealing with mold growth for over a year now, and despite reaching out to both on-site management and the corporate office, the issue remains unresolved. I even went to a specialist and conducted mold tests in my unit to address my health concerns. Despite numerous inspections, the mold problem persists. As an asthmatic with allergies, this situation is unbearable. Occasionally, I babysit my nephew and nieces, and they leave my apartment with itchy eyes. This has gone on for far too long. It's hard to believe that a company can collect rent while allowing residents to live in such conditions. This goes against the terms of my lease, and no one should have to endure these circumstances. I've called management multiple times, but they seem indifferent. Something needs to be done immediately! I've attached some pictures to provide a glimpse of the mold spreading rapidly in the bathroom, shower, ceiling, bedroom, and kitchen. It even seems to be coming through the A/C unit. I need a resolution. I'm a responsible tenant who pays rent on time every month, and I deserve to be protected by federal and local tenant laws.
I've been calling the after hours emergency number, the leasing office, and sending emails since Monday about the rotting, broken A/C
I've been calling the after hours emergency number, the leasing office, and sending emails since Monday about the rotting, broken A/C. On Monday, they said it wasn't an emergency unless it was over 90 degrees, but to put in a work order and someone would check it the next day. On Tuesday, the maintenance worker turned off the phone. Yesterday, I called and called, but it just kept ringing until voicemail. I left several voicemails and never heard back. Yesterday, around 3:30, I spoke to a guy from the leasing office who said someone would come to my apartment within an hour to look at my A/C. When I got home from work yesterday, nothing had been done. Today, I've been calling the leasing office nonstop, but they turned on the answering service to stop my calls. The voicemail box is full, so I can't leave a message. This is ridiculous! It's been four days without air conditioning, and they're not doing anything about it. The leasing office was quick to send a letter about a $90 rent increase, but they can't come to check on a serious issue for a resident. I always pay my rent on time, never complain, and have been a great resident over the years. This isn't fair or humane.
Me and my famly have been living on this property for a long time
Me and my famly have been living on this property for a long time. I got some questions about parking, cuz they never told us what the rules are for cars on the property. Like, can we have commercial or passenger cars or cars with company labels? We use our car for everyday stuff too, not just work. But now they're saying we can't park our car here cuz it's marked as a company car. They even threatened to tow it, saying the tow company called about it. And if we don't fix this in 7 days, they'll kick us out! It's so crazy to think we might get kicked out after being here for over 20 years. If we really have to move our car, I need a better explanation than what they gave. They also told me I gotta put my family member on the lease to live here (which makes sense), but the car can't be here. I just renewed my lease and it doesn't say anything about tenant cars, except we need parking permit stickers, visitors gotta park in visitor parking, and overnight parking needs management approval. Nothing about cars with business labels.
On April 7th, 2022, I moved into an apartment (1411) in SaddleWood
On April 7th, 2022, I moved into an apartment (1411) in SaddleWood. The apartment was not move-in ready. When the leasing agent and I did a walk-through, I wrote down every single problem that was wrong. So, 2-3 weeks before my move-in day, I did another walk-through to see if things were fixed, and they weren't. They kept telling me, "Oh no worries, it'll all be done before you move in." My move-in day came, and I did a third walk-through to see once again if things were fixed, and as I thought, things were still untouched. They still allowed me to move in because, once again, it was said, "No worries, we'll get it done." Well, May 7th made a month, and nothing's done. I've been asking for things to get fixed for a month straight, and no one seems to care. I have a 1-year-old who is very active, but I refuse to let her crawl around this filth. I have hanging light fixtures, a dishwasher that's not connected to the countertop, the restroom has flooded, I've seen a baby snake under the cabinet, there are so many things wrong here, and no one cares about what I'm saying. I'm tired of repeating myself to the office staff. At this point, I'm more concerned for the safety and health of my baby. No one should have to live like this. I just want out of this contract so that my baby and I can relocate somewhere else. I deal with depression, and this has triggered me into being stressed emotionally. All they ever do is apologize, and I'm tired of hearing that. Sometimes when I go to the office, they're in there with the door locked. I've called numerous times, and they have the phone off (so unprofessional). I really don't know what to do right now. I'm so stressed out, and it's affecting my ability to work. They threw me into an apartment that they knew they never had intentions of fixing. It was all about the money. They did not care about the safety or well-being of me as a resident on their property.
This here complaint is 'bout them bad practices at Octavia at Castle Wood apartments unner Delcore companies in Casselberry Florida
This here complaint is 'bout them bad practices at Octavia at Castle Wood apartments unner Delcore companies in Casselberry Florida. The leasing department, they's violatin' them fair housin' rights. I called up the apartment complex to check if they got any 1br apartments available. She told me there's a waitin' list for them 1brs, but they got some 2brs available. So I made an appointment. I Ubered ($90) all the way there to fill out the application and take a tour. When I got there, they turned me away 'cause they said I was late for my appointment. So I rescheduled for the next day. They didn't even greet me, just made me wait for 30 mins. Then they handed me an application to fill out by hand and asked for a ($100) and ($16.70) money order. Once I finished the application and gave 'em the money orders, they refused to give me a tour and said there's a waitlist 'til March. I told 'em, "You told me on the phone there was immediate availability, that's why I came." She said I could be put on the waitlist and someone would contact me in 5-10 days to see if I qualified 'cause it's affordable housin'. (I do qualify, makin' less than $32,100 a year.) Three days later, she called me and said I was overqualified 'cause I made too much money. Instead of takin' my hourly pay, multiplyin' it by 40, and then by 52 like normal folks do to calculate annual income, she took my gross income for the last seven weeks, divided it by seven, and then multiplied it by 52. I told her that was wrong 'cause I worked overtime to make extra cash for the holidays and that ain't my normal pay. She said that's how her corporate office told her to calculate it. So I called up the corporate office and left 'em multiple voicemails, but they never bothered to contact me and confirm the information. They turned me away, lied 'bout availability, and lied 'bout me bein' overqualified. I'd like someone from the corporate office to contact me and explain why they don't calculate annual income like the rest of the country.
