Purchased a $1,200 Silhouette unit
Purchased a $1,200 Silhouette unit. Danby refuses to repair the sealed system. All other manufacturers offer a 5 year warranty. We purchased a new Danby Sillouhette under cab fridge unit from Gherrits appliances. Cost of the unit was $1,200. After 2.5 years the unit does not work as the sealed system has failed and leaked. Repair cost with parts and labor was $500. We offered to cover the labor portion if Danby would work with us on the parts. All other manufacturers offer a 5 year warranty on the sealed system portion of a refrigerator.

Danby hasn't honored the warranty for a faulty dehumidifier, model unspecified, S/N omitted
Danby hasn't honored the two-year warranty for a faulty dehumidifier, model and serial number not provided. Repeated contact with Danby's customer service has led to stalling and attempts to redirect responsibility to the retailer, Sylvane, Inc. The purchase was made on June 14, for $199.00. A critical part failed around February . The last update from customer service was on April 26, indicating a referral back to Sylvane. A specific case number was assigned.

I bought a Danby Home Herb Grower in February from a store in Westfield, NJ. Since then, the appliance has consistently given me trouble. I paid $740 for it by check on February 6, referencing a purchase order dated January 24, and the salesperson who assisted me at the time. The appliance has not been functioning properly and is currently inoperative. Despite numerous emails and phone calls to Danby at [protected], I have yet to find a solution to the malfunctioning unit. I have sent them photos and a copy of the sales order.
Here is the content of my most recent email sent today: "It's been eleven months since my last communication with Danby and I have received no response. My home cultivator has been operational for the most part since then, and I have managed to reset it whenever it displayed the '45:85, 0:00' error codes. However, for the past four days, it has ceased working and is displaying the '45:85, 0:00' error on the control panel. I am unable to get it to function again, despite having powered it off, shut off the circuit breaker, and unplugged it multiple times. The motor seems to be working, but the control panel, which regulates the timing and running cycles, does not. I suspect this is not an isolated issue, and I am requesting a call from a Danby manager or someone with expertise regarding this product. What actions will Danby take to address this issue?"
From my email dated February 28: "Almost a month has passed without a reply from Danby. This lack of communication is not reflective of the customer service promised in your Danby Smart Move booklet. I have been patient, waiting for your response, but now my patience is wearing thin. Since my last email, the unit has somewhat reset itself. It turns on and off at the programmed times, but the running cycle programming seems faulty. It did not turn off after seven days as it should have. I have now set it to a two-day cycle to test it again. I would like to know if other units have experienced similar issues, what the '45:85' error code signifies, whether this product has a self-reset feature, and if there is a risk of an electrical fire. Most importantly, I need to know your plan of action if the running cycle continues to malfunction. Since I reported this issue while the unit was under warranty, I expect the warranty to be honored if problems persist."
And from my email dated February 4: "I am eager to learn about Danby's decision regarding the defective control panel on my unit. Will you be replacing the entire unit or sending a technician to repair it? The control panel is behaving erratically, and I am no longer able to program it as before. The error codes 'zeros & 45:85' keep appearing. Sometimes I can turn the lights on and off by pressing the buttons, but other times it doesn't respond. I have herbs growing inside, which is why I've resorted to manually controlling the lights. Last night, I turned the lights off manually because they did not shut off automatically as programmed. To my surprise, this morning, the lights were on again. I am concerned that this unit may have an electrical issue and could potentially be a fire hazard. I am waiting for your prompt response."

I've tried to get a replacement model for a dehumidifier I purchased, but they won't even give me a money refund or a model without a top vent. I bought this product last year in 2019. It was supposed to be delivered in July, but I didn't receive it until August. It worked great until months later, which is when I contacted the company. I was then advised to reach out to Danby since I had registered for a warranty through them. It's taken months for the company to send me an email regarding the purchase. Now, I've been dealing with Canada's Danby for a week or two. They are trying to give me a model with a top vent, but I can't use that because I tend to drop things easily, and small items could fall through.
Failure to honor warranty. Danby dehumidifier stopped working at 8 months. Since no servicing dealer near me they asked for a pic of the receipt, serial/model number plaque and a picture of the power chord cut in half. Provided this info near end of May . They acknowledged receipt and promised refund within 6 weeks. No refund and now they won't respond to emails nor is the company accepting phone calls. This is nearing 3 months later HELP!

I purchased a Danby dehumidifier with a one (1) year warranty
I purchased a Danby dehumidifier with a one (1) year warranty. It failed in about 7 months. I contacted Dandy, they walked me through possible solutions, but it still would not operate. After a week or so, they agreed to reimburse me for the full price. I followed all of their instructions and on June 22 they accepted that I had complied with all of the requirements and would be sending the check to me within 6 weeks. It has now been 11 weeks and I can not get a response as to when I will be reimbursed. Perhaps you can help me resolve this issue. I have all the documentation of our emails I can send to you if required. FYI, I was dealing with the Ontario, CA office, but cannot get your form to accept that address. I bought a Danby dehumidifier with a two-year warranty, but it failed in a year.
I purchased a Danby dehumidifier with a two-year warranty directly from the manufacturer, but it ceased functioning within a year due to a sensor fault. The sensor erroneously indicates a humidity level of 30, causing the unit to shut off prematurely. After reporting the issue, Danby opened a support ticket and suggested a replacement with a different model. However, they first recommended that I seek a warranty repair. Unfortunately, two service centers declined to perform the repair, and further inquiries for repair quotes through the ComplaintsBoard.com were fruitless. Consequently, I requested Danby's approval to scrap the faulty unit by severing its power cord and removing the identification tag, in order to proceed with receiving a replacement model. Despite sending two emails over consecutive days and including the support ticket number, I have yet to receive a response.

I purchased a Danby portable dishwasher for $270 on Wayfair's website in April-May
I purchased a Danby portable dishwasher for $270 on Wayfair's website in April-May. I can contact *** for a copy of the final lease payoff receipt. Somewhere between last week and this week, a huge puddle formed on my linoleum floor under the dishwasher. I tightened the valves, which were wet, and tried using it hoping it was a fluke. The valve loosened again and water came out. I'm using half a roll of toilet paper each time with this thing, as water leaks out the valve spout both in front and now the back. Danby responded with a canned email suggesting stupid troubleshooting tips like wiping thr unit down with vinegar. I reiterated that it's a broken valve, I know from prior experience. They responded with a list of local repair shops! I specified VERY clearly I don't want this product in my house and I want a refund! It could cause floor damage and rot in my RENTAL home, which I would then be accountable for. Product_Or_Service: Danby Portable Dishwasher

Defective ice maker broken after 11 months
Defective ice maker broken after 11 months. Defective ice maker. Contacted Danby Customer Service three months ago and to date the defective ice maker is still broken. No response from Danby. Purchased a defective Silhouette ice maker on 4/30 for $1,240.92. The warranty period is 24 months. On 3/20 I contacted Danby customer service as the ice maker was broken. A repair man came out to fix the unit; however, the ice maker only worked for 3 hours thereafter. I contacted Danby customer service rep, ***, again and was given the name of the prior service co. along with 2 other service companies. The company that came out the first time refused to return as they said they do not get paid when they do service work for Danby. The other two stated we are outside their service area. I have asked to have the defective ice maker replaced and there has been no response from Danby. So far I am 3 months with a non working / defective ice machine. Your help is appreciated.

Danby air conditioner 8000 btu purchased july 21,target
Danby air conditioner 8000 btu purchased july 21,target. Unit ran 2 months, April this year didn't work when tried, no air blowing, then loud after 40 minutes. Overheated outside temperature. Not cooling our small bedroom as 8000 btu should. Danby just keeps telling me to call different repair places, one came to my home, pushed on flap, misaligned it. I told co.have severe medical problem of asthma can't go without air conditioner, danby doesn't care just keeps telling me to take it to different places to get opinions that they won't replace even after ex. several issues with the unit. Would rather pay repair people & waste my time and money, the repair of fan is not the only issue. Keep having to place tickets out that they keep closing and telling me repair only option. I don't want several months with ongoing other problems. Terrible customer service, $328 paid but they will keep trying to repair for over that, and make me go without an air conditioner medical issues, rotten !

I purchased a danby portable dryer last August or September
I purchased a danby portable dryer last August or September. I received it and it worked well for a few months, then I started having issues with it. It stopped venting and would overheat and shut off. Now it does not run. I advised danby about this issue and they told me it is still under warranty and that I would have to call a technician. I called one and arranged them to come visit. The technician told me the belt needed to be replaced. Within a few weeks it was installed and started working again. For a week or so, anyways. Then it started doing the same thing. So I called the technician again, he said he doesn't know what is wrong with the unit but the belt again needed to be replaced. After the belt was placed a second time, it did the same thing. Danby keeps telling me the technician said it was working. IT IS NOT WORKING. I just want a working dryer. The customer service is absolutely useless. It takes days to hear back and I have been waiting months to have a working dryer.

Freezer stopped working after approximately 60 days I purchased a Danby upright freezer from a local appliance shop on 3/27
Freezer stopped working after approximately 60 days I purchased a Danby upright freezer from a local appliance shop on 3/27. The appliance quit working around May 26/ 2020. I reached out to the local appliance shop and they could not find any appliance repair persons who comes to my area. A week later they told me I needed to reach out to Danby. I contacted Danby on 6/5 I spoke with *** in customer service, she asked me to try a hard reset, (unplug the device for 5 minutes and then plug it back in) if this didn't work they wanted me to send pictures of the installation, and a copy of the sales receipt. I received an email with a case number (***) on 6/8 and I responded with pictures of the receipt and pictures of the installation. I also explained the hard reset did not work. I have responded to the original email (as per their instructions) on 6/17, 6/24 and attempted to call on 6/26 asking about the status. I have not received an update. I explained to the customer service representative that I had ordered a side of beef in April and it will be ready the first week of July, I need the freezer fixed before it arrives. When I called on 6/26 the message said Due to the Corona Virus they are no longer accepting phone calls. No on has responded to my emails.

Within four months of purchase, my Danby dehumidifier leaked, froze at the back grille, and had a nonfunctional flotation ball fullness
Within four months of purchase, my Danby dehumidifier leaked, froze at the back grille, and had a nonfunctional flotation ball fullness indicator. On June 20, I purchased a Danby dehumidifier from Bloom Bros. Supply in Chesterland, Ohio. It was purchased along with a washer and dryer; the total order was paid for with my Visa card. Within four months of purchase, the dehumidifier leaked from the bottom of the unit, froze up at the back grille, and had a flotation ball fullness indicator malfunction. The unit's Model number is ***, and its serial number is ***. I reported the problem to Bloom Bros. Supply, and they directed me to take the unit to A Complete Appliance Service at 4735 Richmond Rd. in Warrensville Heights, Ohio to perform warranty-covered repairs. When I took the dehumidifier there, the man behind the counter informed me that for $50 they would examine the unit for repairs. However, he told me that they probably could not obtain parts for the unit nor guarantee that they could successfully repair it. He suggested that I contact Bloom Bros. Supply for a resolution to the problem. I contacted Bloom Bros., and they told me that I had to contact Danby so that they, Danby, could send Bloom Bros. an authorization to provide either a new unit or refund. I contacted Danby by phone, but the wait to speak with someone was endless. The automated reply directed me to the email address Danby.com/support. The site offered no clear complaint box except something called "Pissed Consumer." I filled this out, and have yet to hear anything. With this type of runaround, I decided to contact the ComplaintsBoard.com for their help. I would prefer to receive a refund of $259 for the unit, the price Bloom Bros. Supply charged me for the dehumidifier, but I will accept a new unit.

Very poor customer service in regards to repairing a wine cooler I purchased a Danby Silhouette Renoir Wine Cooler, August
Very poor customer service in regards to repairing a wine cooler I purchased a Danby Silhouette Renoir Wine Cooler, August . Shortly after purchasing it it started to leak water into each individual wine bottle holder, ruining all the labels on the wine bottles. It then pooled into the bottom of the wine cooler then out onto my floor. I Contacted Danby and they sent out two different repair people on different dates and neither of them knew how to fix the unit. After months emails, and telephone calls to Danby they decided to replace the unit. I finally got the new unit November 30. Four months later the replacement unit started leaking. It dripped from the top all the way down the glass into the bottom of the unit and again out onto my floor. I have been in contact with Danby numerous times again by email and telephone. They told me to contact Platinum repars, which I did and a repair man came out to look at it. He had no idea how to fix it and never even responded to danby on what to do about it. I then had to contact Danby again to see what their plan was going to be. They told me they would send out another repair person to look at it. I told Danby service department that I want to speak to someone higher up like a manager. The woman refused to let me. I got mad and told her I had a right to speak to someone higher up than her because I have been getting such a run around. She told me it is against their prototcol. Since purchasing the original unit in August and getting the second unit in Novemeber they have both not work longer than they have worked. This unit was about $6,000.00. My case number with Danby is #***. Danby has multiple different people working in their service department so every time I call they have to look up my information, read up the details, they all seem to agree this is rediculous that I keep getting the run around. They all tell me they will personally see to this getting resolved and will get back to me. No one ever does. I am beyond frustrated that I have had 2 different units in 9 months and over half of that time it has not worked.

Purchased a Danby Home Herb Grower in February from a local store in Westfield, NJ
Purchased a Danby Home Herb Grower in February from a local store in Westfield, NJ. It has been problematic since purchase. The appliance, bought for $740 by check on February 6, with a purchase order dated January 24, from a salesperson at the same store, has been malfunctioning and is currently not working. Despite numerous emails and phone calls to Danby at [protected], the issues with the appliance persist. I have provided them with photos of the unit and the sales order. In my latest email today, I expressed ongoing issues with the control panel displaying error codes and the unit's failure to operate despite troubleshooting efforts. I've requested a call from a knowledgeable Danby manager to address the continuous problems and to understand what actions Danby will take, especially considering the warranty. In previous communications, I've detailed the erratic behavior of the control panel, concerns about potential fire hazards, and the need for a definitive solution from Danby.
On 08/28/2024, I purchased this item from Lowe's online with a delivery date of 09/04/2024. I received a notice 08/29 the delivery date changed to 08/30. This caused an inconvenience for me financially because I did not received as promised on the 08/30. I actually had to go to the FedEx terminal myself on 08/31 to pickup the item myself.

Purchased a portable dishwasher from Danby via Amazon 7 months ago. It has broken down. I have been in contact with customer service several times. They are extremely rude and will only contact you via email. No phone calls allowed. They did offer to let me take it to a repair shop. However, I live in New Mexico. The repair shop is in Indiana. This is quit impossible for me to hand deliver or pay for shipping to get it fixed. I have had a horrible experience with the company.
