I cancelled my Dish service when I moved because I was unable to find help in transferring my service to my new house. Having had DirecTV in the past I was actually excited to go back to them.
November 2nd I called and set up my new service. Earliest I could get installation was November 15th, scheduled between 8 am and Noon. I took off from work and stayed home . At 12:35 I called and they said the installer was enroute. At 2:00 pm I left to pick up my grandchildren from school. My father was home . I got back to the house at 3:30 pm and my dad said no one arrived. I called DirecTV and they could not even find my account, name, phone number anything... my father walked outside later that evening and installer had left a tag on the door that said they had been their at 2:30 and to call and reschedule our appointment...my father was home, no one rang the door bell or knocked on the door or he would have heard them...after being transferred 4 to 5 different times and 2 more phone calls that night they assured me that DirecTV would be at my house in the morning. No one showed up the next day either, no phone calls ever nor text messages...after numerous calls and being transferred again because no one can find my account or understand what I need my service was scheduled to be installed Nov 24, again, no phone calls, text and no show to install. Another call to DirecTV...so sorry, the installer cancelled the appointment, did you get a phone call or text message...again no I DID NOT!...so sorry...we can offer you $5.00 off a month for a year...we can come out Nov 27th...ok...but I hightly doubt anyone will show...and I am looking for a new solution to my TV watching problem...DirecTV you have let me down.

bill problems
I have been trying to resolve billing issues with DirectTV since April, 2018. I have a record of every agent I spoke with, including their employee numbers.
The problem never gets resolved. They NEVER follow up.
When I refused to pay the bill until they resolved the problem they shut off my service and would not restore my service until I paid the bill - the bill that was wrong to begin with!
While for the most part the agents were pleasant, they never followed through.
Here it is Nov. 23 and the problem has still not been fixed.
equipment and billing
I called to have a receiver upgraded and was pushed into an upgrade I didn't need. The technician that came to my house agreed I had the best equipment, but installed a Genie 2. Since that day in June I have had problems. My screen freezes and there is a delay when changing channels. Sometime I have to re-boot the system. I had several service calls that didn't fix the problem. The last technician at my house said there is nothing he can do. He said there is a software issue in my the Genie 2. He said Directv is aware of it and is trying to fix it, but keeps installing the Genie 2. I feel the CS Rep lied to me. I didn't need an upgrade, but they push it to receive a commission. Why, because they locked me in for another 2 years. When I approached them on it they offered discount, but the problem is still there. Now I get my bill and see a $135 charge for an unreturned Genie that was returned in their box with their label. They will not remove it and are trying to get me to do more work, This seems to be a pattern with them. Poor service and overcharging.

disputed charges
DirecTV incorrectly charged me for not returning equipment that I absolutely returned. I have the pictures of it in the return box and the pictures of the tracking on the boxes. When the tracking is checked, it states it was delivered. When I talked to DirecTV the first time, they admitted it was a mistake and stated that someone didn't enter it but they could see it was in the warehouse now. That was when I got the original bill. Since then I have received debt collection notices for that same bill. Every time I am told sorry and the issue is resolved as they can see it was a mistake and they can see that I returned everything. This has happened multiple times and with multiple debt collectors. Enough is enough. I had just received another debt collection notice. Maybe they are counting on me to get annoyed enough to just pay it but I assure you that will never happen. I have proof that I returned everything promptly and timely. This has been an issue for over a year now. Please end this harassment. Thank you.
This is starting to look like a standard practice for DirecTV. Apparently, no matter how false the debt claim, DirecTV keeps sending it to different debt collection agencies until you give up and just pay it so that it will go away. DirecTV told me that it was resolved and a mistake. Since then, 3 or 4 (at least 3 but I lost count) debt collection agencies have said the exact same thing but DirecTV keeps sending it to another. I wonder if they have a policy that states just how many times a false debt claim has to be resolved by different parties (including their own) before they stop? At this point, it really feels like harassment.
If I do not get ABC back soon, I will switch to Spectrum. I also feel I am due money back for not getting all the channels promised

I had a scheduled appointment today to install a new additional cable box and upgrade my 4 other boxes. The technician was scheduled to arrive between 12 and 4 pm. At 3:41 I received an automated text that stated "We may not arrive by 4pm. Reply KEEP to confirm install today or call to reschedule." I texted a KEEP response. At 5:30 pm no one had showed. My husband called the 1-800 # and spent 45min on the phone and got absolutely no where. I have lost 5 hours of wages waiting at home. He with a manager by the name America employee ID #AH364M who was rude and ignorant. DirectTV is the WORST company to deal with! NO one is accountable and they do NOTHING to help, they have NO IDEA what customer service is!

Started a chat with Direct To inquire why my bill had increased by $58 dollars. After 2 hrs of chatting & being transferred to two different worker plus one supervisor, I still did not get an answer as to the bill increase. When I asked to cancel they offered a one time $50 dollar credit to my account for me to stay, but notified me I'd still be paying $108 for what was supposed to be a $60 per month plan. I asked that they apply the $58 credit & cancel my account after being with them for over 15 years & they cancelled my account with no hesitation or offers & cheated me on the $50 dollar credit they had offered me. I got ripped off on my bill, plus cancelled on my service. Worst customer service ever!
Have you thought about connecting a antenna for locals and maybe a cheap package like Hulu for streaming your favorite channels?

I was a direct tv customer. I moved from a rental home to a new home. I requested to move my equipment. When the installer came to my home, he recommended direct TV's wireless receivers. I agreed. The installer placed me on the phone with a phone representative. The phone rep asked me if I agreed to the purchase and I stated yes. The phone rep asked if I was aware of the need to renew my two year agreement. I replied the only way I would agree was if my monthly rate did not change. They stated my monthly rate would not change. I agreed to the purchase. They stated all calls are recorded for quality assurance. Two months later, the monthly rate increased. They stated my initial rate had expired and I was now going to pay an additional +$70 a month. I called and complained, the customer service department ignored my complaint and I cancelled my service on the basis of break in our original agreement. Why would I sign up to pay $70 or more monthly? They stated I now owe $361.59 for early termination. DIrecTv's business practices are unethical and they are thieves. My account number is [protected]. removal of tv channel
This is an ongoing issue with DirecTV concerning tv channels that have been removed because of a long-term contractual dispute with the channels in question. When I call, depending on the day, I'm told by the customer service rep that the channels in question aren't being shown because they want to much for their service, and the next time the customer service rep will tell me that they cant change to another like channel because of FCC rules. Hmmmm…… I call baloney on all of it. I live within the certain paid area by advertisers and oh well if I have to watch news from another state. Told the nice lady last time if she would love to come home and watch New York news at night when she lives in Dallas. DirecTV is a joke anymore and after 25 yrs I've had enough. What scares me is the horror stories on here of DirecTV continuing to charge after that. Verizon did that to my father recently, but that's another story, and another company complaint. These companies know that most of us wont spend the money and take them to court. If we do they have attorneys paid on retainer that keep those things tied up in court till we go away.

I have been a Directv customer for 12 years. I had the same receiver and dish for the 12 years. My receiver went out so I contacted tech support (big mistake) After talking to a person who couldn't speak English for over an hour. He finally said he would send a technician to install a receiver. The tech came and said he only looked at problems and yes I needed a new receiver. We talked about tech support and he said all tech calls go to PAKISTAN! When they screwed up my bill and added $100 plus the initial tech bill I paid I found out billing also is in PAKISTAN!
THE ONLY REASON I HAVE DIRECT TV IS THE NFL SEASON TICKET>PLEASE NFL GET OUT OF DIRECTTV.
new genie software a mess
About 2 months ago Directv uploaded a new software interface on my Genie DVR. What a mess. Took me a couple of weeks just to search out some of the features necessary to record and watch. Have to click through mutliple screens now where it use to take only one click. Now programs are recorded and appear in the "All Recordings" list only to disappear. Finally figured out I could find some of them in the "History Recording List."
Also, the "Series Options" controls are pretty much useless as it mostly ignores my settings. It's records all episodes of some series and completely ignores the new episodes settings for other series.
Since then my Wi-Fi will not stay connected to the DVR longer than a few hours at most rendering the apps pretty much useless. Several other devices in the household have no problem what-so-ever. Have rebooted for the last time.
As far as I'm concerned they went for a "10" down to a "3". I use to recommend Directv to family and friends based on how user friendly the Genie DVR was. No more. I talked to a rep a couple of weeks ago and they have until the end of the year to get this mess straighten out or I'm outta here. I can't believe they pushed this interface out to their customers. Too many problems for no one to know.
rewards card
First off, now that AT&T has taken over DirecTv, it is an awful service. From hardware issues to terrible customer service, they check all boxes. I was pushed into signing up before I was ready by a rude rude lady. But because they had a promo for a $400 Rewards card, I went ahead with it. During the sign up process I was not informed of how to claim my reward, so I waited patiently to get it in the mail. As a previous customer it used to take 3 or 4 months to get it. Well, I never received anything. Albeit 6 months later, they are saying they sent me a form and upon receipt, I needed to "claim" my reward online. I never received any mailings to claim anything and now they say it is too late. Nobody will help and nobody cares. They have a whole department for their rewards system, so clearly this happens allot. It is their way of scamming people into signing up. Now I am out that money I needed and stuck with terrible tv service.
cancellation of service
I have cancelled my service and they tried to tell me that since I moved I am under contract until july of next year I never agreed to such I was told that moving my service did not cost anything nor did it have anything to do with a new contract which I never agreed to. You have went sky high on my bill and I could no longer afford your services, I tried working with you and all I was offered was a $5 discount, I use to get internet and all channels including the movie channels for less than 150 a month and then I could no longer internet at my house so it was dropped from my bill but guess what my bill did not go down it went up, I dropped the movie channels and my bill went up to 186.00 a month, I was told my contract ended in September 2018 now you are trying to rip me off one more time by telling me my contract was extened due to us moving, I will not be paying this period, I did not agree to a exteneded contract I was told moving was free, one more decepition from Direct. my service better be cancelled, send me a box, I will return the equipment, and we are DONE! I tried working with you all but I guess a customer that pays on time was not worth keeping only ripping off, that is pathetic customer service. Do not try billing me for an extened contract because it will not work and it will not be paid. CANCELL MY SERVICE AS OF 11/3/2018! 9200 COUNTY ROAD 222 LOGAN ALABAMA 35098!

DirecTV calls me at least twice a month to offer me a "free" movie package for 30 days then I'll be billed automatically. When I tell them I'm not interested, and I'm very polite about it they HANG UP on me. How is that acceptable customer service? You want me to ultimately pay additional money and when I say no thank you I get hung up on? That's a HORRIBLE way to attempt to grow your business and certainly doesn't make me want to continue my service with them.
Directv overcharge
Few months ago I had discontinued my service with direct tv and confirmed that no balance was remaining and returned the equipment as directed within the time frame. Few months later received a "late" bill of $124.73. After following up they had sent my bill to collections. Upon speaking with a representative they said they been trying to contact us which we never ever received calls or bills from. After paying the amount they later send a $0.30 bill. This is just unfair for a customer.
NFL Ticket
All of a sudden without me ordering the NFL ticket I was being charged I called and they told me they were going to credit me back [WHICH THEY NEVER DID| they said that because i didn't call before a certain time of month I would have to pay it and I told the man that I could barely understand that this is not what I ordered and I wasn't going to pay it and after a long hold period he came back and told me they would credit me one month so with this I told him no this is how it's going to work first I took myself off autopay and stopped upcoming scheduled payment and told him since they can't credit me I'll credit myself and told them their only getting 34.00 this month sue me, you can't charge for something I don't get and never wanted...

I am one of Directv/ATTs largest and longest residential customers. I have never seen such a disgusting display of customer service and lack of residential service. For over two months, have been trying to get my satellite replaced since in Sept they concluded it was too old and thus not picking up certain HD channels. Incredibly, over 6 service appointments have been made and NO ONE has shown up each time; and I get no text, email or notification. They just on their own keep recheduling the appt without checking with me. They did it four times this week. I have called supervisors, begged on the phone, but to no avail. I have been a directv customer for over 15 years and have 10 TVs. They even gave me a credit on my bill recently for the aggravation. And after promises that they will arrive, they never do. How is this possible? Is upper management aware of this problem? I may have to move to Optimum. YOu are are giving me no choice.

DirecTV has been infuriating to work with. We made our first appointment date 10/26/18 for DirecTV to install their cable at my house. I took off work for them to be here and they did not show up. I called and asked when they would be here. They said "the order never went through." How? On that same phone call, I rescheduled for a second appointment date 10/27/18. I took off work again, someone showed up this time, but he did not bring the right equipment. Therefore, we had to reschedule. This time he set up the third appointment himself, for 10/29/18. I took off work and no one showed up. I called to see where they were and they said the order never went through...again. I was polite and told the gentleman on the phone my concerns, how I have taken off so much work for them to come, and how every time something seems to go wron. The gentleman on the phone rescheduled for 10/31/18. I said okay, took off work, and they did not show up. I am stuck paying my old cable bill for another month, and now have to find a new cable company to go with. I have missed too much work for this and have lost a lot of money in the process. This company seems like a giant scam to me.

Worse customer service ever! Paid $300 for the Direct TV Sunday ticket and every week I have had problems logging in or getting a connection. Customer Service Chat has told me multiple times that a supervisor is going to contact me and I have never received a phone call. They also told me I would receive a refund for the times I have had problems getting a connection and no refund. No one at direct tv seems to know what's going on. One dept gives me a phone number for another and than that department tells me that it's not them and gives me another phone number. I had direct tv Sunday ticket before they were taken over by AT&T and they were ten times better.

My neighbors said their satellite was fading in and out so a rep came out to check the dish. The solution was to cut down my trees. Not huge trees but my shade trees.Granted they are taller than my house, they are sparse. My neighbors are elderly so they had their Son cut 3 of my trees down. Im horrified. The only reason I agreed after a bit of a fight was to save peace with my neighbors. My complaint is this... Please ask your reps to NOT suggest that neighbors cut down trees rather than relocate a dish. On top of losing my trees I am not left with them laying in my yard to get removed. I am not able to do so so I have to rely on others to do the work. The information given to them was not accurate and having come from the state of Oregon, have never heard of such a thing. YOUR rep put that bug in their ear and they flew with it. Now Im wide open to the sun in this hot state of Arizona. I grew these from seed 4 years ago and in a flash they are gone.
