I made 4calls to dish prior to signing up about suspending service, and that the terms would NOT change upon unsuspecting service. Each time I was promised nothing would change, lie! I suspended service for the winter at season property and the first bill after starting again the price jumped $30.00/month AND my one year term became 2 years
When I called to find out what happened, the response was too bad. The person whom "helped" ( ha ) was disinterested, unresponsive, unwilling to hear what I was saying and unwilling to address the lies I was told and violation of the deal I was promised
deceptive sales
I signed up for dish network 2 weeks ago tomorrow. The dish sales man said there was a 2 week trial period in which i could cancel my order if not happy. Thew day after instillation I called because I was told that net flix was free and included. I was told sorry that offer ended April 15th. The next time I called was about the NFL channel which was included only to be told we are in negotiations.
Today I called to say I do not want your service my 2 weeks are up tomorrow, and was told there was no such thing. The salesman is a contractor not a dish employee (he had a dish shirt on) and they are not responsible for what he said.
Now if i cancel I have to pay the early termination fee? Who is responsible for what the sales representatives offer?
tv
After on the phone for 2 hours today, sent to what I was told was the highest level of customer service, "The President's Office". There was no help and no concern. After this experience I reviewed the multiple complaints throughout the USA and cannot fathom how in the world DISH is in business. It is unethical, unreliable, a cheat and a thief of the highest magnitude. See my SHORT version of my story below. SHAME ON DISH!
My Aunt lives in LA and I have been trying to assist her with her issues with DISH Network from my home in San Diego. DISH has been forcing her to pay a monthly charge for services NOT rendered and are in violation of the contract they are forcing her to uphold.
DISH NETWORK, a large corporation, is bullying an elderly, disabled woman who cannot afford a cancellation charge. She is alone and her TV is her only friend late at night. Originally she was using another network service and was manipulated in to trying DISH with a 2 year contract.
In order for her DISH box to function she has to wait for the daycare person to arrive to manually "reboot" the in-operative box and manually adjust the TV volume. When we requested customer service send a tech to link all her devices together with the one remote, the technician from DISH said it could not be done leaving my Aunt to have to get up off her chair and crawl to the in-operative box and make adjustments.
I have attempted to get the contract canceled for her a couple times but DISH Network insists she is under contract and must pay the cancellation cost. Even though she has been paying since 2015 monthly with continuous issues.
How can a big corporation be allowed to manipulate, lie and STEAL from the elderly and handicapped citizens of our State of California? Is there any assistance out there who can make this right?
dish contract
I called to order additional Joey at no time I was told it would extend my contract 2 years. I received the Joey, call customer service to hook it up and at the end of installation then was told 2yr extention. I immediately sent it back stating I wasn't told this when ordering and who in their right mind would want their contract extended for two years for one Joey? Well needless to say 1 year later and several phone calls DISH will not remove the the extended contract and I'm stuck until 2017!
:(
dish network stole $400.00 from my debit/credit card overdraft my account
Hi everyone, "buyer alert" do not sign up or do business with dish . Had thier company for a few months signed up with my debit card by phone and they charged me a one fee of $170.00 and asked me did i want their auto pay, i told them no, i would pay them monthly over the phone, he said alright. I don't have to tell you that when i was unable to pay them for one month and ask for a week extention they cut me off sent me a ups box to sent their equipment back i did. An d they turned me over to a collection agency and four months later they charged my bank debit card $400 over drafting my account $430.00 and i am on a fixed income of $730.00 yea can you imagine how i feel. I call my bank woodforest and they told me to file a fraudulent paper so i did they lady at the bank say that they would probably hold it pending until 45 to 60 day of investigation and waiting to hear from dish. "really" well you know they put it though anyway and told me i have to waite until investigation is over. People we all need to get together and file a suit against dish everybody should pitch in and we all go to a specific lawyer and let people everyware know what dish is doing.
I too have issues with Dish Network. I had it installed on May 20th 2016 and from then to June 7th, I had to reset boxes 15 times during that period. At that point I no longer tracked the number of times I had an issue with "Broadband Connection Lost." Over the past two days, I've had to reset the Joeys a total of 7 times. Over the past 30 days I've had to reset the Joey 20 times. They now have a tech coming out. I told them I was willing to give them another week and if it was not fixed, I would cancel the service. I was advised I would have to pay a cancellation fee if I canceled because I was under a contract. To me, they have already broken any contract by not being able to provide me with a reliable service. They didn't care and would still charge me a cancellation fee. I advised them I would file a complaint with the FCC. I'm sure I'm not the only person having issues with them.
loss of fox channel
I live in the triad area of North Carolina, and we lost the Fox channels due to a financial dispute about a month ago on DISH. I am avid Carolina Panthers fan, and I want to know if and when we will get these channels back. If we are going to be able to watch Carolina Panthers football this fall, then I will be forced to switch to another provider that can give me the services I am paying for.
unauthorized transactions
On July 1, 2016 Dish Network took $380.00 off of my debit card for social security disability. Back in October 2015 I let my sister in law use my card for a $1.00 transaction for her to get service with Dish Network though a third party satillte company. I have never had a account with Dish Network. I only receive $815.00 per month for Social security disability. I on a fixed income this was my rent money. I called Dish and they said nothing could be done. I never authorized but $1.00 I don't have a account. Please anyone don't give ur debit card information to Dish.

tv service
I am VERY tired of having to call Dish about problems with the box turning off over and over we go sometimes 4 times a day with updates but don't get any credit off our bill for ruined shows etc. Every time we call we have to repeat our problems and they insist we need tech support but that DOESNT HELP.
We missed debates, news, and middle or endings of programs its unacceptable.
Our box went down 8 times yesterday alone finally they will send us a new box but they did that before and we still had problems. We are tired of having to call so we have let it ride many times but we are fed up now.
We feel we should have been compensated along time ago but just more headaches..
Guess its time to give another CO a try. Believe me we will be talking about this to EVERYONE.

service
I have been with this co. for over 3 years. It cost me 400.00 to get initial service, there was a "one time" Lease fee of the box for 199.00, not sure what they desperately needed the rest of the money for. I am disabled/retired and do not receive my monthly funds until the 3 of ea. mo. My bill is due on the 24th. Ea mo. w/o fail they turn off my service in the wee hours of the 26th. I have called at least 6 times in the past several mos. to req. due date change every time I'm told the bal. has to be pd first even though it's NOT due and THEN it'll take a cpl months before it's in effect. So I pay full price for 22/23 days of service. I just called again got the same b.s. and was offered a 30.00 cr. for 24 days w/o service yet they charge me 85.00/MONTH. I didn't realize they were so hard up! This company cares for one thing and it's sure NOT the customer, it's money. Greed is what this company is ALL about. Shameful, sinful greed. Worst co. for caring about the customer's happiness that I have ever dealt with.
deceptive practices - udap - intentionally confusing their customers
In October of 2015 I started a 2 year contract with DISH Network - Price Lock Package. My 'contract' printed out in the statement has verbiage to the effect of "DISH will not change (a) the prices you pay for programming packages set forth below (the "Programming Price Lock Packages") or (b) the Additional Receiver Fees you pay during the twenty-four (24) month period immediately following the activation of your DISH service... etc. There is a table of prices in the message, along with talk about the Dish Pause, suspend service and more.
Now, to get this price lock, you the consumer must agree to setting up auto-pay. OK, many do because this makes life easy - one less thing to worry about and as long as your bank statement dollar amount is relatively close, you don't even look at your bills.
Now for the deception. February 2016, Dish raised my package rate $5. AND then, so that I would not notice, they raised my discounts to cover that price increase. So, now I am back looking at the contract and I see further down in the message there is a comment that states "you acknowledge and agree that DISH shall have the right to change any and all prices, fees and charges at any time..."
DISH knows
#1 that consumers don't read to the very bottom of their contracts when they specifically point out in the beginning that they can't raise the rates. #2 by having consumers set up auto pay for their bills, they will not look at their bills if the dollar amount they see on their credit card statement seems right
#3 when the 24 months is up, they have raised the package price in a sneaky and deceptive way and on the 25th month, that $74.99 now has become what? another $5 or $10 or however many $$ more, increases they have snuck into your contract and your only option then is to continue to pay or cancel your account?
These are intentional deceptive pricing practices and DISH should be brought to task for doing this. If the credit card companies have to follow UDAP - why not these big companies also?
television
I moved to a new location that calls for a $500 security deposit for dish installation. Since I was told I was no longer under contract because its well past the initial 24 months of service and could not afford to pay $500 I discontinued service. Despite being their customer for 6 years, beung current on payments, and having good payment history, they have subsequently charged me a cancellation fee of $320 because I upgraded my equipment. They say the upgrade in my 6 year old equipment put me back into a 24 month agreement and although I am returning the equipment, this is just a fee for breaking my promise to have their service for another 2 years. This is rediculous! They dont seem to care about my history with them or how much it would cost me to have their service. When asking for a supervisor, I am connected to the loyalty department who tries to re-sell me the service with discounts that dont cover the $500 fee I would have to pay to have their service installed at my new residence. All they care about is me paying them for 2 more years for service or paying them $320 for nothing. What crooks! My only regret is that I stayed with for so long before knowing how little they appreciated my business. 😑
This is the MOST greediest company I have EVER dealt with in my life. They are ALL about getting your money and shutting down ur serv if they don't get your money on the due date! They DON'T care about customers one iota. Seriously the most greediest people ever.
dish customer service/policies
When I moved, I canceled my Dish network service. I knew I would have return my equipment, you always do, no problem. Before I received my boxes from Dish to return my equipment, they took $445.00 out of my account without my knowledge, when I went to pay my mortgage and my money was gone from my account. I called Dish promptly and was told that they will refund my money once they received my equipment, that I still had not received my boxes to ship back to them. A whole week later the boxes arrived and the I promptly sent out the equipment. I called once I saw by the tracking number that my equipment had been received and was then told by the Customer Service Representatives in the "Philippines" that it would take me 23 days to get my refund and they were not refunding my entire $445.00 that they took from my account, only $302.00. They were keeping the rest of my money for an amount they said I still owed.
equipment return
In July of 2014 I disconnected my Dish Network receiver in preparation to cancel my service because I was getting ready to move.
At that time I attempted to call Dish to notify them of my cancellation. I was unable to reach the company by phone because they use an automated system...and the automated system required a 4 digit code in order for me to get further into the process. (I checked my account, my billing statement, and anywhere else I could imagine there might be a code that would allow me to have real phone contact with a real person at Dish. But no such code could be found).
Therefore, I contacted Dish by email in August 2014 to notify them of my cancellation and also of my inability to contact them by phone. I also let them know that while I wanted my service cancelled in July, I would pay my bill through the month of August and asked for shipping materials to return my equipment. Venus A. from Dish eCare sent an appropriate response by email the following day, apologizing for my difficulty and also that they would let their "Loyalty Department" know that my service is cancelled and to forward packing materials for my equipment.
On October 8th of 2014 I received an email from Dish notifying me that payment on my account was "significantly past due."
I emailed them back and told them I'd cancelled in August - and had a confirmation email from them acknowledging that, and that I was still waiting for my packaging for equipment return. To which I got no response.
On October 18th I sent another email to a couple of the execs at Dish along with every Dish Network Department that was available via email. I also attached the previous email correspondences asking to cancel service and send shipping materials.
Later that day I received a follow up email from a person who had gotten my email from his CEO and was told to resolve my issue. We had a phone conversation and I was apologized to profusely and assured that I would get my packing materials immediately, and my account would be paid in full as of August.
I finally got the boxes to return the equipment (not once but twice) along with a letter inside that outlined how to return the equipment if it was still of use to Dish. The letter gave a series of numbers to check my equipment against to determine if it should be returned. My equipment (at that point 7 years old) was considered "Obsolete, and should be disposed of responsibly." It also indicated to remove the white data chip and throw it away and not to attempt to sell any of the components.
I did all of the above.
In January I received a notice from Dish that I was being charged $98.00 for unreturned equipment. I contacted them again and told them that my equipment was "Obsolete" and was discarded per their instructions.
Dish subsequently turned my account over to a collection agency - to whom I explained the long running issue and they said they would notify Dish.
Fast forward - May 2016 I get another notice from a collection agency stating Dish is willing to accept $55.00 to settle my account. Really?
movie order
Date: Sat. May 28th 2016
Time: 19:00 hrs.
At approx. 18:55 hrs. I attempted to order from Dish Network a feature film named The Finest Hour. I attempted to order the film for viewing at the start time 19:00 hrs.
The phone representative made me:
1. Go to the " Menu " and press twice. I complied.
2. Then she told to provide the I.D. for the account. I complied.
3. Told by rep. to hold while she looked up the account.
4. Told by rep. that the " Credit Limit " was reached.
5. This was very disturbing as the Dish Network is PAID in FULL when received.
6. Rep still delaying the process of my movie order. Time lost 12 minutes. That was a 12 minute DELAY and missed the start of a film that cost $ 5.99 to watch. Terrible service to say the least. Rep needs to be re-trained.
tv cable
Dish network has gotten to be the sorriest, rudest, people ever. I've been with them for 9 years and WILL NOT pay $95.00 for the top 120 channels when I can get them for free on internet and Roku. Yesterday my wife and I both spent over 3 hours trying to work out the price and stay with them. Will not happen. We will cancel services with dish and never use them again. To many options such as channel master, Roku, and internet to see what we want to watch.. We spoke with Malorie Z3Z, with David which lowered our bill to $45.98 but also lowered our package. With Kim X29. They switched our package to the lower and we are paid up untill the 27th of May but they wanted to charge us to change it back to the 120. After gettin ugly they finally did. Why must a person have to be so ugly to get a service done when I am the customer. We would stay with dish as long as the service is less than $50.00, but that doesn't seem to matter to them any longer. So it's bye bye bye dish and dont let the door hit you in the butt on the way out. We will never be back... Your services aren't that good...
unauthorized use of my signature, forgery and theft
I had dish TV and internet installed. I was told I have 30 days to try it. They reneged on that promise. The installer also told me I had a 3o day trial period. He asked me to sign a small window in a cell phone to acknowledge that I received the equipment and installation. I later found out that he had electronically copied my signature onto several documents I never saw. I still have not seen them, and they claim it was a 2 year contract. I never authorized them to copy my signature. I never signed or saw any contract. The installer also removed (stole) a cable from my home with out asking. The internet does not work, it is off line 3-5 times a day. I do not trust their service people so I cannot have them come opt to fix the problem. I have never been given any documents or paperwork of any kind. I have only received threats about huge charges if I don't agree to the contract which I never saw.
tv
If I could give zero stars I would. Do not get dish! I signed a 2 year contract with them and called today which is now 2 years later to see what the final day was. They told me I had another 2 years left.
I called them a year ago because my equipment wasn't working for the tv and the sales rep said I would get a better deal if I went ahead and got the hopper and would also receive a 15$ a month discount. So I had the cable guy install the new equipment. He had me sign a paper that he said was for the equipment.in the fine print I had just signed another 2 year contract with them that I had no idea I was signing!
I asked for that contract and they said I had to wait over a week to receive it. They said they had a recording of me saying I was fine with another 2 year contract as well, but they magically could not play the recording or send me the transcript.
I now have to pay a 400$ cancellation fee for not keeping the "new" contract that I was completely unaware of.
When you call to resolve issues with them you will get "i'm sorry" and "I understand." they do not care!
Also, every month my bill was different and channels that I originally signed up for would be gone because they were in disputes with other companies carrying those channels. They broke their contract by taking away channels that I payed for.
This company will steal your money! Do not use them!
Dish is consistant, with there 2 year rip off scam, they only go back 2 years, so if you a day past 2 years they play god and charge you again. They have made a mess of my home . Now i find out they have a damage claim department, theys have denying, for 7 years . They play there costomers like fools, It's sad...
tv service
I signed up for bundled services through frontier communications with the TV portion being DISH network. This was a month to month with no contract. I called frontier yesterday to close my account due to moving. I was told at that time I needed to also call DISH. I called DISH and they informed me that I had a 2 year contract and would pay a penalty for terminating early. I never signed a contract! The whole bundled account was set up through frontier. I am assuming that when the installer came to my house to install the satellite he had me sign for the equipment! Which now I believe included language for a two year contract.
DISH is unethical, deceptive and not trustworthy. BEWARE of very deceptive practices!
direct tv giftcard promotions for signing up.
I signed up a 4 months ago with dish cable. There was a promotion with a gift card for signing up. I called a little over a month ago a lady representative told me that she would have to look into it and somebody would get back to me, I just called a few minutes ago and the man I spoke with was very nice but he was not able to help me. He said there was nothing showing on my account pertaining to a gift card and since I had my account for over 4 months there was nothing I can do to get it now. He said whoever started my account must of not put it in correctly. Well I find that unacceptable. I wonder how many people got screwed too. Just got a letter that direct tv wants our business back and offered a $200.00 giftcard. might have to take them up on there offer.
Sorry. I typed the wrong company in title. This post is about my account with Dish Tv.
billing
Since we anticipated travel and an early move, we purchased our Dish equipment to avoid any service cancellation charges or other problems when it came time to move. We recently had an issue with loss of service while traveling and paid our bill over the phone with a credit card and paying the EXACT amount your rep requested while on the phone. NOW we have just received a bill for $5.00 threatening to discontinue service unless the $5.00 is paid by April 18. Need I remind you, your service is billed in advance. See back of bill for Monthly Service 4/20/16 to 5/19/16 that service period has not even started. In addition to this, you had the audacity to place the threat on the front of the envelope for all to see. (This is prima fascia evidence and easily recognized as intimidation and defamation of character.) Anyone seeing this would have no idea the threat was over a mere $5.00 and was for services not yet received.
Please discontinue all DISH services effective Monday April 18, 2016 and refund all charges already paid for service April 19, 2016 and forward.
