waited 6 minutes for rep to come to front desk, a african american girl with long black/purple hair finally came out appeared that i had interupted her, told me my vehicle would be 10 min before ready i informed her i prefer it not to be cleaned she said she had no say so in that and do i want the vehicle or not, i told her i wanted to speak to manager, due to her attitude, she said there was no manager and she was not renting me a vehicle because i was rude. i have been renting with dollar for 7 yrs never had anyone so rude, i rented a vehicle from enterprise.

Long story short this rental place over charged me for a rental and charged a $250 cleaning fee claiming the car smelled like smoke after I told them several times I did not smoke in the car at all. Then there was a fee for 123 I don't even know what that fee is for. Shame how this company does their customers

We leased a Dollar rental car in Orlando through Priceline. We were quoted a 4 day price with taxes and paid the bulk of the rental to Priceline ($304.28). We were told the additional taxes would be due as we signed and picked up the car ($86.69). We were charged an additional $315.16 on our credit card as we express dropped off our car. So the car we thought we were getting for less than $400 we ended up getting charged over $700 for. We were charged over $200 in concession recovery and damage waivers.
Desired outcome: We want to pay the price the Priceline quoted us and we thought we were paying plus the additional $58.64 for refueling.
Roadside service
I was left stranded I was out on hold for 2.5 hours then yelled at and hung up on because they couldn't understand me snd it was dark so I couldn't see the paperwork . I called again to be put on hold for another 2 hours. I finally had to walk at night because there was no spare or jack in the car and roadside service was a joke. I am a single mother with my child there. The next day I finally got a supervisor tp call me and she had the car towed to the tire shop. Where I was told there was an appointment but got there and no appointment. I was stranded as the tow truck driver left it was 97 degrees. The tire shop advised not drove so another 2 hours on hold in the heat waiting on someone from roadside service to answer and order a tow to the airport. This was a Horrible experience. Not to mention it was the type of vehicle I was suppose to get. I also was scammed out of 282.00 and not given the second car when I arrived at the airport. I would advise no one to use Dollar as it is not safe. This ruined two days of my vacation put me at danger!
Charge of $400 for cleaning
I returned a rental on Saturday after renting car for a month. On my way to drop off vehicle, I gave my Nephew a ride. After dropping him off I noticed a smell in the car. He had weed on him and it left a lingering smell. I later talked to him about it and I promise this will never happen again. I will make sure no one is in a rental vehicle with weed on them. I was charged $400 for cleaning the vehicle because they said I smoked in it. I did not or no one else smoked in vehicle. I talked to other people and they said the smell will go away on its own after the windows are left down for about an hour. I didn't smoke in vehicle and I realized I was responsible. Just wondering if cleaning vehicle can be reduced to around $100. Again I know I'm responsible for the vehicle but I just can't afford the $400. Please help. Thanks

First of all the woman at the counter was very nice and just trying to do her job,
However, I booked and prepaid for a convertible mustang for my husband. This was part of a package through expedia.
The dollar kiosk was closed so it had us go to hertz. The agent said she can't give us the convertible mustang I booked and paid for because my husband didn't have a credit card to hold for incidentals. He had to put 500 hold on his debit snd we still didn't get the mustang we paid for.

Rental
We reserved and paid for a car rental in February through Expedia. We arrive today and they tell us that they quit accepting expedia reservations in April. Nothing from Dollar or Expedia. They told me I could rent the car but it would have to be on a major credit card. Cash was not acceptable, a debit card was not acceptable, it had to be a major credit card. I dont have a credit card. I asked about the money I paid in February. They informed me I had to work with expedia to get my refund. Im out 500 bucks and I have no rental.
Desired outcome: I want my money back
Its unfathomable that a company would allow someone to pay for a rental, not provide the vehicle and have them go to a third party to get a refund.

I encountered a similar situation renting through Expedia (who doesn’t answer any calls).
I booked it with airfare and when we got to the airport, Dollar kiosk was closed as bd there was a sign to go to Hertz.
I booked everything but put my husband’s name on the car rental because we were promised a convertible Mustang and I wanted my husband to be able to enjoy it.
Because my husband didn’t have a cc on him, I offered mine. The agent said I can’t use mine so my husband had to put a 500 deposit on his debit and we didn’t get our Mustang.

Long wait
I am at Philadelphia international Airport and was to pick up a rental vehicle at 3 o'clock. It is 430 right now. We are likely another hour until we get the car. The absolute worst car rental company experience I have ever had in my 64 years. At the very least you'd expect somebody from the company to come outside offer water and explain what's going on. It is 95° on this day and there is no water to be had. Not one person in the last hour and a half has approached the group to apologize to explain or frankly just to say we're sorry. I can't tell you how upset I am at this organization

Renting a car, customer service, behavior of clerk
We reserved a car for pick up at the Dallas Love Field Dollar Rental. confirmation number is J69843803E4. We prepaid for the rental 3 months prior so we could reserve the rates.
When we arrived at the desk we handed our chase card to the clerk. She ran the card but there was a problem. since we were from out of town chase required that we respond to a text message to allow the charge to go thru. Barbara was the name of the clerk who was helping us. She got mad and frustrated and started rushing the process. We call Chase to find out what do to and Barbara shouted "are you going to talk to them or talk to me" This startled us and we asked if she could run the card again. She refused. At that point she cancelled our reservation and someone else in the part had to use their card and make a new reservation. There was nothing wrong with the chase card only a standard procedure that Dollar should already be aware of. since most people at the love field rental are from out of town. She was very rude to us.
Desired outcome: Barbara should Apologize to us. She needs to be trained on why types of credit card fraud procedures are in place so she can be prepared.

Overcharge
Agreed to upgrade an Orbitz car rental from Dollar for $35.00 a day for four days at Denver International Airport. Upon return I received a final bill of $230.80, with no reference concerning the $132.40 that was prepaid to Orbitz for the initial reservation. I paid $363.20 for a sub compact SUV for 4 days at $35.00 a day. Called Dollar Customer Service on 4-20-20 and was told the $35.00 a day charge was in addition to what was paid by Orbitz. I was overcharged $108.40. My Dollar reservation number is J73022143822.
Desired outcome: Refund of $108.40 overcharge.
Car rental Phoenix Arizona
I rented a car through the Alaska Airlines website, which is directed to the company Cartrawler. My reservation number is US721571350 and confirmation number J7211300854.
When we arrived to the desk, there was nobody there. There was a sign directing Dollar customers to Thrifty. The line at Thrifty was about 100 people deep and at least 3-4 hours long. Totally unacceptable. I called for refund and was denied. I prepaid for a car and Dollar could and would not wait on me to rent the car without waiting 3-4 hours. Video of the line is attached. I want a full refund of the charges as I had to rent from another company at a higher rate to get out of the airport.

I was a renter of your vehicle In Fed 2021 my License # is D4465857... I was snowed in in Oklahoma in Feb during the massive storm which caused texas to and oklahoma to freeze over. I was told I would no be charged for he extra days because the weather was not my fault as many customer of Dollar rental car where snowed in and your locations in Oklahom and Bentonville Ark where closed... I called daily to your corporate office and was assured I would not be charged, I was still charged and my account overdrawn 2400 dollars... I called back was helped and the representative fixed my rental details confirmed everything that happened and issued me a credit of $900 I was told to wait for at least 10 days for it to hit my account at which time it did not it's been over a month I called today and the representative told me I would no be getting my credit because I was charged for the days I was snowed in... This is not acceptable I have children I need my money my bank account is in the negative 2500 dollars and occurring fees and credit is in jeopardy. I dont like to take issues to my lawyer because it is costly but this is not ok... I was lied to and then after it was supposed to be fixed and my money returned which I have confirmation# of I was told I was getting nothing and that I was told false information from the beginning as I was being charged for he days I was snowed in... This is illegal people cannot control the weather and if they are going to charge you for things out of your control the must be honest and inform me. THEY DID NOT THEY LIED I really need help I'm an honest person I had insurance on the vehicle and I deserve my money back that was guaranteed to me by you billing department... Hidden Charges
I booked a rental car with dollar car rental on line. The booking was through a third party. I never signed up for insurance coverage.
When I picked up the car, I was asked whether I wanted any additions to the service . I was asked if I wanted an extra driver. I did. I paid for that. I was asked whether I wanted premium roadside assistance. I did not. I declined that.
I was never asked if I wanted insurance coverage. Insurance coverage was included in my contract. The contract is an 8 page document. I did not stand at the counter and read the entire thing.
Insurance charges were included. There are more than half of the total rental. I would have never signed up for that. I have my own coverages.
I want those charges waived

I drove this car on the ILL toll road. That toll road does not take cash (that is a recent change). Instead, the toll road said you can pay your charge within 14 days of driving. I set up an account to do that. The account is not working because of a failure of the toll road. I have been trying to reach them for months but no every answers the phone to try to pay the fees. But Dollar ended up paying before I did. I believe I should pay the tolls but the $15 charge per toll is way too high and cannot reflect the actual costs of Dollar. The total toll charges were 12.40 but Dollar is charging me 105.00 to pay that amount. As mentioned, I did actually try to pay the tolls via the ILL toll way web site but due to their fault, that did not work. I would like the admin fees waived. Thank you.

Deceitful overcharge - being scammed
I booked a vehicle online at what I thought was a good rate - one which included "fees & taxes". Upon arrival at the Hertz counter at Fort Myers airport (apparently Hertz is currently handling Dollar's business at RSW), the nice lady there offered me an upgrade to a nicer vehicle for an additional $150USD which I accepted.
When I received my final invoice from Dollar, that the real cost of the upgrade was $254.27USD which once converted to CAD, pretty well doubles the original amount (pre-upgrade) which I was expecting to pay for the 10 day rental.
The lack of transparency shown by the Hertz CSR on behalf of Dollar as to what the actual upgrade cost would be is disturbing at the least bordering upon deceit with intent - not good. Who likes the feeling of being scammed?
I'm all in for paying the $150USD upgrade charge however not the additional $104.27USD.
I respectfully request that my complaint be given due consideration.
PS: Attempts to lodge my complaint through the Dollar website - complaint form was an exercise in frustration as the form fails after completion while attempting to submit. Attempts to get Dollar to respond through other mediums has brought only silence.
Car rental and poor customer service.
I rented a car at the JFK Dollar rental place, I made reservations online through Priceline. I purchased the insurance that was offered to me online.
When I went to pick up the car the Sales Representative who stated that she was the manger informed me that the insurance I purchased was a third party insurance and because I purchased that insurance that if anything happened to the car the company would bill me and I would have to get reimbursed from the third party insurance. I did not understand what she was talking about and as I was asking questions for better understanding she became increasingly short tempered and very snide in her remarks. Then she showed me a copy of my contract and she highlighted the area that stated that I was opting out the insurance then she told me to read the rest of the contract to find out the particulars of the the third party insurance. The contact was at least 5 pages long and very tiny in writing I asked her to point the area out and she took the contract from me then ripped it up and told me she just voided my reservation and told me Goodbye and to leave her store. I could not believe what that woman who says she is the manager just did. She practically stranded me at the airport. I did not want to cause a scene because I was not going to stoop to her level. I asked about my refund and she said that I would not be charged. I found out later that in fact I was charged. I am a nurse I deal with emotional people all the time and as a nurse I understand and try to move beyond the reasoning why some people may take out their fear and anger toward me What that woman did was not only uncalled for it was very lacking in human integrity. As a result of that incident I was forced to rent another car from another agency and since I did not have a reservation I was charged extra

Car rental
I flew into DFW airport on October 30th. I had made a reservation for a vehicle on October 29th through Priceline. I prepaid a portion of the total costs in the amount of $91.66 and the remaining amount of $44.87 was due at the time of pickup. When I got to the Dollar booth, the lady first had issues swiping my card and basically told me I was out of luck. Due to the reservation being in my name, we were unable to use my fiancé's card. On top of that issue, I was overcharged $131.13. On top of being overcharged, I also had to pay tolls which I was told I would not have to and that was included in my amount paid. My confirmation number is J5654567889. My name is Daryl Allen. I would like a refund for what I was overcharged.
Pricing over charging
My flight had changed to a later flight so I ask them at the counter what the charge would be to return the car 5 hours later then originally rented for and I was told 47 dollars which I assumed would be for a full day 24hrs/daily I was billed 105 dollars for 5 hours... These people are crooks they just bill you as they feel fit and don't care about ever...
