Went to ESM as I love the food well I used to. It was my 50th birthday so I was taken out for dinner I chose it. We were seated and asked if we wanted a drink, I orderd a water and an ESM draft another order the same draft no water, and my daughter ordered an iced tea. No one else was given water which should be an automatic. We ordered a salad, bada boom bread and a soup and we also ordered our meal a few mins after. The salad, bread and soup finally came. We waited a long time for our meal and not once in that whole time did we get a refill of salad, soup and we didn't even get bread which is what I love when I get there. When the meal finally came my dinner was wrong it was not even what I ordered and I asked for bread again and a refill of iced tea for my daughter. Still no water came out, not even asked if we wanted another beer. So I sat and waited and asked again for bread still none came. other people got 3 loaves, 2 loaves. My meal came when others at my table were done and again I asked for a refill drink for my daughter and bread. My meal finally came and so did the refill drink and a bread loaf that was not even done it was raw and others were sending theres back. The girls were run off their feet, no smiles, they were swearing and unfriendly and I will never go back there again. There were empty tables and people waiting in line. I told them go somewhere else and eat so they all left. I will continue to tell people not to go there. I should have gone to the pickering location I have had better experiences there. I am disappointed on my 50th bday. Not even a happy birthday from the unfriendly waitressess

This is the first time I took my 2 year old daughter and 7 year old son to Guelph's east side Mario, located at stone road. We were 3 adults with these two kids and were asked to wait for 10/15 minutes but waiting for more than 1/2 an hour and seeing people with party of 3 and 4 were taken before us, I even requested that we will adjust in a booth and show the lady about one booth was available but we were told that it was requested by someone else who came after us, felt very bad with my kids waited so long but other people were given preferences. I will never go to this place again with my family.
services
On june 20, 2018, I went eastside for my birthday the server had too many people to look after I waited 45 min for her to bring me my salad at first we wanted pasta after finding out you had to pay for meat. Mushroom in it that you only got noodles and sauce and that was all you can eat so instead we had pizza that cost us more. When we got our bill we found that we pay for each thing on it 1.99 for ham, sausages, mushroom and pizza dip was 2.75 and my wife said that it was my birthday she didn't even sing happy birthday like there was another man birthday that they wish him a happy birthday song. This the 3 time I had a bad expert at this location you need to speak with them on how to treat customers because this happen so many time I may not return back and I will tell my friends too until they improve their services and ways
Please email me back thank you john
spaghetti primavera with goat cheese
I am disappointed with the product since its not as shown as in the picture on your menu. There was no feta cheese and the vegetables in the dish were a few! I had only 2 florets of broccoli and three snow peas. I had to Devine the snow peas since it was tough to chew! Don't the cooks prep or follow the recipe booklets provided by head office! It is too pricey for the little bit of vegetables that I received for this dish!
manager ashley of cobourg location!
I will no longer be darkening the doorstep of Cobourg Eastside Mario's again! I am furious!
The advertisement Cobourg East Side Marios home of all you can eat is garbage!
This is the worst East Side Marios I have ever been to! I have come here so many times! Hoping it would get better!
The last time I came here the soup was like paste! Cool and gross!
I brought my brain injured daughter here tonight when she asked me if we could go there. I said I had been ill but I would have just soup and salad!
Jen (my daughter) ordered capeletti with a cesaer salad. I told the waitress I would have the soup and salad. She said its over at 3 pm. I had told her they always do it for me because I assist my brain injured daughter there.
The manager (Ashley) comes over and proceeds to tell me that I could not have the soup or salad.
I explained that Jen had ordered her dinner and all I could eat was soup and a salad. She said it was not possible. I said well then I will just help my daughter with hers. She told me that she could have only one salad, the one shw was eating along with her food as I was not permitted to eat hers! It was just for her! She then told me a soup would cost 6.99 and a salad would cost upwards of 7 dollars.
I told her I refused to pay another 14 dollars on top of the 25 I was already paying for Jens meal! I am furious that Jen was not permitted to order a soup or more salad in her all you can eat meal!
She made me feel so horrible like a theif that I refused to eat anything at all, not even the free bread because she had me so upset that I was made out to be stealing in discussing Jen for the soup!
I tried to explain that Jenilee is brain injured and was entitled to the all you can eat as much as the next person!
She limited Jenilee to one salad and her food for fear she might give any of it to me!
Jen ate a majority of her small salad, drank her chocolate milk and literally none of the capeletti!
I ate nothing!
So to summerize a small plate of cesaer salad and a glass of chocolate milk with the free bread for her cost me over 25 dollars!
I am very upset that this manager made this decision to be rude to me and not allow my daughter to get anything else!
So may I suggest you let this "Ashley" know that for cost of a single bowl of soup and a salad, she has lost East Side Marios two regular customers! I will NEVER be back!
I am appauled!
I am pretty sure social media would be shocked to hear East side Marios redused my brain injured daughter what anyone else is entitled to that isn't brain injured.
I left the full capeletti for Ashley with a note stating how very unhappy I was and that I would not he back and all this over a bowl of soup and a salad. As a matter of fact I wouldn't have even had the salad just a soup to accompany my daughter because being brain injured, she cannot drive!
I explained Jen wouldn't be able to eat all her meal which would be included, which is why I said I would help her!
Obviously a woman who does not understand or care about brain injured people or their full time caregivers!
I sure hope I get an apology! How I was treated was so bad and I will have a bad feeling every time I drive by there now!
Unbelievable to me!
She was very unprofessional and rude and not at all sympathetic to my daughter.
She embarrassed me and humiliated me!
She made me feel like a theif!
All excellent reasons to never return!
I just thought you might like to know why 2 of your regulars will not be back.
That is two customers who would have doubled to four since I am getting married in June!
I certainly hope you can see the unjust behaviour of your Manager Ashley!
Hope she enjoyed my daughters capeletti that I PAID for!
So very unimpressed!
Yours truly,
Sandy and Jenilee McEwen

service
Myself my son and brother were going to hockey game in Waterloo for 8 pm. We had an hour and 15 min to have dinner. We thought that's enough. Sat at seat at 6:20. 15 min wait until server came. We ordered drinks and food same time said we had to leave in an hour. 7:00 or drinks came. 7:30 still no food. Waiter said they messed up my pizza order, sent it to another table. . I said that's fine you can bring other two meals. We have to get going. Said it would be here any time. At 7:40 hour 20!min later still nothing. I went up to pay for our drinks cause we had to go as now we're late. They brought food out in to go containers. Gave me 25% off. We were so hungry and in rush I gave some cash and left. We are now eating on the vehicle. Pizza not cooked and my sons fries are so cold it's like they've been in a fridg. Not an over all good experience. Won't be going to that place again.
employment
Hello,
I am an employee who worked with you folks not long ago. I worked at the Sunridge location in Calgary, Alberta.
Not only must I express how incredibly disappointed I am with this employer, but that after speaking with the franchisee, you are able to tell that they are new to the industry. If not new then just slow on the uptake. Not only do the managers schedule people on official requested days off, but when told about those days, we are told it's not a garuntee we'd get the day off despite booking the days off weeks in advance.
In addition, it has been 14 days since my final day of work therefore legally should have been paid today. This isn't new as I've had multiple pay come from them, so I'm not sure why the payment is withheld. It is illegal in Alberta to withhold pay from hours worked, and that the pay must be paid 14 days after the final day of employment with all outstanding debts including but not restricted to vacation pay and a Record of Employment.
I also have verifiable evidence that the restaurant does this with other employees in hopes they won't call back or pursue their final pay to save the restaurant money. If need be I can provide screenshots from ex employees providing proof of my claim.
Also, while working there, many things were stolen and went missing and when the restaurant is questioned about it, they tell us we must have "misplaced it" and that stolen property is not their concern. Most employers would want to find the culprit with sticky fingers in their restaurant and seek legal action against this employee. I've lost my phone, as well have messages from other co-workers within that same week complaining about theft and how the restaurant is being absolutely complacent about the matter. It leads me to believe since the restaurant is very aware of this serious issue, they are aware of who it is and are protecting the person who is stealing.
I came and checked the cameras the day my phone was stolen but was rushed and forced to go before completing my search. On top of that, I also have verifiable evidence that overtime is not being paid.
There are other concerns that are more severe that legal action can be taken, will not be addressed in this email and will only be discussed with the labor board if it should come to that.
Normally, I would contact the restaurant immediately and just deal in negotiations after isolating the discrepancy that occurred with pay, but given my concerns regarding the restaurant, I've decided to boycott that step and go straight to head office. Hopefully once you folks are aware of the issues in one of your franchises, you'll be able to better discipline and train the new franchisee (Chris) and general manager there (Joy Bae) in proper restaurant management etiquette.
If I have not received any response within 24 hours time, my hands will have been forced, and I will not only pursue legal action through the Labor board and Better Business Bureau but also blast this in social media and all other review websites in order to warn others about this employer. I will be posting picture evidence to truly shame this employer.
Regards,
Billy Tran
horrible service
From the minute we walked in we were treated with dirty looks. The waitress came at our table maybe 3 times without being forced. The table behind us got everything they wanted and the waitress ever stopped there for 20 minutes talking to them. She was also chatting with other employees while ignoring our table. Our bread was never refilled, our food was undercooked and half our food was brought out by another rude waitress and 10 minutes later the manager had to bring the two other plates out to the table. We weren't asked if there was anything wrong with the order until we were basically done our food. She notice our drinks were empty and came by to sever the table behind us every 5 minutes, we even said excuse me to another waitress cleaning a table to see if we could get refills and she looked at us, gave a dirty look and walked away. Since no one would refill our drink I had to find her around the restaurant and ask her to refill them. Everyone was wonderful to every single table in the restaurant but us from the minute we walked in.
food quality and service
Placed a pick up order for dinner tonight from the Bayfield Street location in Barrie, Ontario. Pasta was half cooked, pizza was cold and the bada boomers were maybe 30% cooked (they ended up in the garbage). Plus I my order was 15 minutes late. Their prices have gone up and the quality and quantity of their food has gone in the crapper. This was my favourite restaurant but after the past few visits, I think this was my last time giving them my business. It was also a tradition every Christmas eve to go there for lunch with my best friend and godson. This past time was quite disappointing as the waitress had an attitude and barely made any effort to serve us. This is not the restaurant it used to be.
I never cared for that place (Livonia, MI). Got chicken that was so rubbery you could bounce it off a wall. Inedible. The noodles are always way undercooked - half raw. My friends often ask if I want to go to Eastside with them. I always have something else going on. Bah.
caesar salad and managers outcome
On November 18, 2017 at approximately 7:00 pm my daughter and I ordered a ceaser salid with no bacon with our chicken parmesan and chicken wing meal.
As we were eating our salad we ate some bacon accidentally that was in it. This was not the fault of the waiter.
Our waiter Dennis was fabulous and he handled it professionally however the manager Nicole was talking down to me as if I was new to the country as if I didn't understand English or the situation I felt discriminated and making excuses for the error. She said it was human error and it happens as if she was trying to say "oh well, mistakes happen".
I have severe allergies and did not have my epipen with me these types of errors can be fatal.
Please train cooks or employee preparing the foods to be careful. Additionally, please refrain the Manager she should not be in service if that's how she handles customers.
My daughter and I are frequent customers at east side.
29.99 family pasta deal/waiting time at the store
I visited the East Side Mario's restaurant at Steeles/alness Street today to order a family pasta deal for 29.99. It was my first time ever at an east side Mario's and was looking forward to it. However, there wasn't anybody at the counter (take out) to take our order when we walked in. After a full 5 minutes, we had to call up someone to place the order. After placing the order, we waited for 30 minutes, before enquiring how long it would further take. After 10 more minutes, we finally received the order. One of the pastas (out of the 2 in the deal) had very little quantity compared to the other one. Considering the it was in fact the pasta without any meats that was low in quantity (fettuccine Alfredo), this was indeed perplexing. Although the food tasted good, I don't think it was worth the 30 dollars, considering that one of the pastas was not even filled. Unfortunately, I was not impressed by this first experience of this well known franchise. Attached is the receipt and a picture showing the unfilled pasta (compared to the filled pasta tray). My email is [protected]@gmail.com
large pizza
I ordered a large pizza for my husband and our 3 toddlers and myself i picked it up at the great lakes location in brampton the staff was un orginized and brought me the wrong order twice and then they finally brought me my so called largr pizza the shez leave me the pizza and goes off for 10 mins to find a debit machine I check my pizza and it's so tiny like a small couldn't even be the size it was so right away I say something to her and she takes the pizza to the back is gone for another 10 mins and then comes back and says this is how our large pizza is ... I was ready to just walk away but we were so but y and we just waited over an hour for our tiny little pizza I paid 18$ as well for only 6 slices I even have a picture that I took of the pizza right away I am beyond upset ...
Your complaint is very difficult to read due to your grammar and run-on sentences.
waitressing
I just wanted to put in a complaint about the East Side Mario's in Peterborough.
In the summer time I was with a group of friends and we decided to stop by at East Sides for dinner. It was a very busy night but we waited in line because it was a lot of favorites of the people in the group. There was 9 of us in the group.
I had ordered soup with my meal when we were seated. The waitress went ahead and brought me my Italian Wedding soup. Where we were sitting we could see the amount of steam and heat coming from the soup. She proceeded to bring over my soup and reached over my 9 year old grandson to deliver it. The complete bowl of soup got dumped onto the 9 year old's lap at which time he jumped up, I jumped up and pulled his shirt up...he was wearing jeans so there was not to much I could do about that. The manager had seen what had happened and came right over to help try to mop the hot soup off my grandson.
The reason for the complaint is the fact that nothing was done about the situation. I was not offered a free meal a free drink or anything else...what we were offered was for them to take his clothes off him and let him sit in a chef's coat and they would try to dry it.
In conclusion, I now cannot get my grandson to enter into a East Side Mario's and I enjoyed the food. I would just like to have this addressed.
Please contact me if you have read the email
You will want to contact the restaurant directly as they will most likely not see your post here. Additionally, by no means are they required to offer something for free for a mistake. If you were looking for some type of compensation, you should have asked at that time.
fettuccine alfredo takeout
I ordered a few days ago for pickup. Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. I can't express how disappointed I was in my meal. I don't eat at East Side Mario's because I was always under the impression they weren't that good. And this visit definitely solidified that idea. The food tasted absolutely disgusting. It was bland and tasted nothing like fettuccine Alfredo. There was hardly any chicken. And it was just terrible. I don't think I will ever eat at East Side Mario's again. Too expensive for such crappy food.
Poor service
Good afternoon,
On Saturday September 2nd, my husband and I went to East Side Marios, Wellington street location to celebrate my birthday, roughly around 8:15 PM. We were greeted by the hostess who was lovely and took us to a high-top table at the bar. The sever, who appeared to also be the bartender took about 10 minutes to come to our table. We ordered drinks and I also ordered a water with lemon which never came. Every time our server came by our table, I reminded her about the lemon water, yet it still never came. Next, my food arrived but my husband's didn't. We waited and waited for a total of 15 minutes, then his came out and my fish was cold at that time. The bartender/server didn't apologize or say anything whatsoever. Our drinks were empty the entire time from this point forward and we had to get out of our seats to find someone to pay. We usually love coming to East Sides and often do so near our house in the Masonville area, but I must say, this experience definitely changed our opinion of the restaurant. All I have is a visa statement of the evening's receipt, half of which was paid via a gift card. We would appreciate some sort of customer appreciation as we are avid guests at the restaurant in general. Thank you very much.

service and restaurant cleanliness
We visited the east side marios on bayfield st in barrie Ontario and noticed the restaurant was very dirty food all over the floor and silverware not picked up off tables after guest left even when the tables were wiped down. Tables were left with food on them after guest left for our whole meal. Spoke to the manager just to let her know and didn't seem to care.
service and product
Just want to say I've never seen a restaurant as mismanaged as this one. I know there are suppose to be certain steps of service that are to be followed. But how does one server do that, when they are sat 3-4 tables at one time. Sometimes more. It is not fair to those servers who now have to try and give good service in a timely fashion. I see the people getting upset because service is slow and not getting the focus that everyone deserves. Poor server running everywhere trying to catch up the whole time we sat there to eat. I was understanding of course but everyone else is. And the servers get lashed at because they are struggling, when in reality it's the management teams fault for not realizing what is happening. I truly and strongly believe that they need coaching and more training to be more successful. Also seen people waiting for drinks or bread or salad etc due to shortage on the tools needed to provide good service. Completely unprofessional.
We told our server to take their time and stand here for a few minutes to take a breath and relax. They were so overwhelmed and frustrated we felt bad for them. It's almost employee harassment.
Another time we were there and they were struggling yet again, and literally seen management being rude to a server and not lying made them cry for no reason, cause they couldn't manage the team properly.
We were understanding but still wanted to make it known. We asked for the manager, we were told that honestly they don't do anything really they don't seem to care. But the serve said there is a server here who helps manage at times who is very good, and understands how to run a restaurant, and they will be our best bet. Once the supervisor came to the table we expressed our feedback, he was very apologetic and sympathized with us. He said he will do whatever he can to try and rectify the problem.
service
My husband and I arrived at the branch in Bromont, Quebec on Sunday July 16th, 2017. I ordered a soup and Ceasar salad, he ordered a pizza. My soup arrived quickly enough, but after at least 40 minutes later I noticed that all the customers that had arrived after us had been served, but we were still waiting for the salad and pizza. In the meantime, our waitress asked my husband if he liked pineapple. He answered no. We figured there had been a mix-up in the order. No explanation was given to us. There was no indication of a smile either . We gave it another 5 minutes and then got up to pay for the soup. We could see that our order was not ready yet. The server charged us 6.87$ or close to that for a soup. Again, no explanation nor apology was given. After leaving, we were still hungry and would like repair. The young waitress should be taught how to deal with client. A smile, an explanation might have sufficed to keep us in the restaurant
service and food
Arrived 3:55pm - 4:00 pm on dec 31. 2016 to avoid new year's eve rush
Seated right away
Ordered raspberry bellini, only to be served peach bellini and never told raspberry not available - shoud have said we have peach bellini, raspberry sangria.. Nope.. Just gave me something else. He only had like 3 tables at time.
Within 2 minutes of ordering unlimited salad and bread arrived, with 3 minutes of that starters arrived - mushrooms and bocconicini fritti - mushrooms nicely done.. Those boccconicini balls tasted like they had been made and refried again to speed serving up..
Within 3 min of starters entrees arrived.. Great.. Thanks for giving us time to eat and felt like being rushed out.. So now my husbands's spag and meatballs is so bad he cannot eat it and now almost 24 hours later suffering what seems like food poisoning from it.. I took my cappelletti home as I was not finished my salad..
So husband orders funnel cake.. Disgusting.. Again pre fried and refried and served.. So yes they removed spag and meatballs off bill, but how disgusting.. Serving pre fried food and reheated, serving starters with entrees..
