Economy Car Rentals review: Car rental booking with Economy which placed us to car rental ADD CARS in Florida

Date of occurance: June 8, 2024 Time: 8-9p.m. ADD CARS shuttle was supposed to pick us up at the airport by 8pm in a destinated area but when we contacted them they said for us to remain where we were and they will pick us up in that area.

The shuttle arrived by 9 pm instead of 8 pm.

Booking confirmation #: B52193846. Charge $244.51.

At ADD CAR rental we commenced the paperwork for the rental. Their employee asked for the insurance declaration page. We pulled it up on our mobile phone. When he examined the document he claimed that we did not have enough insurance therefore could not have the rental. In between all the conversation while pulling up our car insurance page he advised that there were many additional charges. We booked with economy with every intention to rent a car. All of their agents were friendly but were not up front and honest regarding the rental procedures and what it all entailed. They did not disclose many important points or the procedures regarding the rental. They were not honest and certainly were vague with many questions.

ADD CARS pushed for us to use their insurance which would have been $35 per day making this an add'l charge of approximately $700.

He therefore said that he will have to cancel the rental, we understood. Never did he say for us to contact Economy but we did anyway. Their answering machine said they were closed so we waited until the next morning to contact them The first agent hung up on us the second agent was more helpful.

This experience was the worst ever. We were stranded, lied to and manipulated. When we called Economy we told them we wanted to make certain that we were not charged for anything. Worst company ever. Their reviews are fake.
