consultant pressure selling me to come back to store or my edgars account will be blocked
I processed and online application to obtain an Edgars account. I received and sms to collect my card at any branch. Upon arrive a lovely lady assisted me quickly and efficiently. I was then questioned by another consultant just next to me as to why I did the application online? And that I should rather come in store to do it, obviously for his benefit. I ignored this because I understand he needs to make commission, however he was blatantly rude about this.
I left the store with my new account and was happy. Two hours later I received to separate phone calls from [protected] and [protected] from Daniel informing me that I must come back to the store to get a club card or my account that I processed online will be blocked and I wont be able to use the account. I asked why? and was immediately just told to come back.
Not only was this consultant rude he had no manners and I could clearly pick up he was trying to get me back there to sell me something else. In short pressure sell me with some dodgy excuse to get me back to the store.
I received another call about an hour later with Daniel questioning me as to why I am not there yet? This infuriated me to the point where I wanted to confront him on a personal level. I made the right decision not to go back to the store because the outcome would only result in further problems.
I would like this consultant to be dealt with and for feedback to be provided on what will be done to improve not only this consultants skills on the floor, but his overall demeanour. Alternatively I will approach a third party to have my complaint dealt with.

I had an account with Edgars for the last 20m odd years. Buying regularly and paying regularly on specific dates. Approximately 4 to 5 years ago they strated to charge late payments charge if you paid after a certain day of the month. I queried this from the beginning and they told me in the beginning I needed to phone every month to inform them that I will pay after this deadline. Time went by and this just continued. Various phone calls letters and hours on the phone explaining to no success at all. I eventually just ignored it. My credit went up and up with out consenting from me or me signing any agreement to this. Eventually I got to a point where I was tired of complaining writing letters and receiving threatening phone calls I closed my account. I had a balance of an odd R500 or so. I told them that this is for all the late payment charges they have illegally charged me and i will not pay it until they can show me where I signed and agreed to new terms and conditions. They sent me invoices of purchases done with a signature that is not mine. I am the account holder and they have no proof that I had signed for any change in my terms and conditions. Still up to date no proof has been given to me. I have in the mean time being handed over to debt collectors who keep contacting me and threatening that im going to be blacklisted. the more I tell them I need proof the more angry and irritating they become. I refuse to pay for something that I was not informed or in agreement to. Yet they continue without reason to harass me with debt collectors. They cant seem to comprehend.
quality of clothes
I've been an Edgars customer for a long time, I buy clothes for myself, husband and my kids. Recently the quality of clothes is so bad that last year I bought a very expensive dress which I only won for one day and the stitch was so loose I couldn't wear it again.
Last week I bought a nice Kelso jacket but the was very disappointed with the way it was tailored. When you wearing it, at the back it stands up like you are having a tale. The black furring inside comes out at the back, its like it was not carefully, nicely measured when tailored. For an expensive jacket like that, I didn't expect such quality.
Its not the only things that I had problem with when it comes to quality at Edgars. Most of these items are very expensive because the jacket I returned today was worth R449.99 and the dress was R850.
management and service
I was instore to pay my account which a consultant at customer care was happy to do when she ran into a stumbling block. The calls to your contact centre was offline. I asked her if there was another way of closing the account and she said they the only people dealing with closure of accounts. She then referred me to the manager whom she ran to call, took about 5 mins to locate him. She eventually returned as a line of customers was waiting by then. The manager came strolling along 4mins later to be exact. I told your consultant to continue with other customers by then. On arrival the manager did not great as I expected and I greater first. I asked him to assist me by caking someone at your HO but he said he could not. I posted the question as to why he could not he said they offline. I explained that clearly there should be a manager there which he could contact. He indicated that he has no numbers and knows no one HO. I asked how long he has been working for the company and asked if he could offer any assistance as I was unable to come back for the telephone call and he said no. He then insisted I should come back when I have time to do so. As a manager myself I would offer better service to my clients and ensure that when they leave they satisfied with the outcome. I told him that he should be in contact with them the very next day and gave my telephone number as well as my receipt of payment to him. I asked if he could give me feedback on the closure of account the next day. A week has passed and still no feedback received. My account at the credit bureau is still active and I very disappointed in the BAD service given.
I have a baby and don't really go out with her as she is still to small to be out and about.
Please assist as this is my last hope.

Called call center no1 can trace my account nd service consultants keep dropping the call [protected] nimble cannot provide paid up letter as it was taken by Edgar's again back to them nimble ref44022988 spoke with lungelo dropped my call lindiwe boyana tried her best I applaude her bt gave me wrong email to send my query I need proof of the account existence or I'd paid up I want a formal pdf document please call me bck for further clarification [protected]
makeup - delivery
I've ordered a few makeup products from the redsquare store. Each time one of the makeup products have either been damaged or fallen apart. My last order ( Still waiting for it) I've placed two weeks ago. Normal delivery - 3 days. All products were in stock. I've been trying to contact the customer service branch as well as the complaints dept. To no avail. Phone gets put down in my ear, empty promises made and I can't get a refund according to *Martha. Very glad I've closed my account with them for good. Poor assistance, poor packaging, poor products and constant blameshifting.

I brought a phone with Edgars in in January this year and I paid for insurance with my phone. My phone was stolen on the 19th July 2017, I followed all the instructions required for an insurance claim for a stolen phone with edgars (I blocked my sim card and got an ITC number from my network provider, I opened a case at my local police station and got a case number, I filled in all the required forms and gave them the police case number and ITC number for the claim on the 21st July 2017).
I was told that I would be contacted in a week about the insurance, I waited two weeks and did not receive a call so I went in store to enquire about the progress of the claim. The first two times that I went in store I was told that they were offline and then that I was late and had to return.
I eventually got hold of someone at a store who could help me and they called the insurance line, the insurance then Told me that my payment for June did not go through and they cannot process my payment until I pay the June installment and that they have already scheduled for a double debit for the end of this month.
1. No one told me that the payment for June did not go through and when I checked my statements the payment definitely went through. further more, they debited the money for July with no mention of June until I brought up the insurance claim.
2. When I mentioned the above to them the consultant that I was speaking to told me that he would call me back but they never did. When I called back they told me that they were on strike (This was on Tuesday).
3. Yesterday was a public holiday so I called again this morning only to be put on hold and then the call ended twice. on the third attempt I got through to a consultant but apparently she could not hear what I was saying and she hung up.
4. I cant afford to buy a new phone and that is why I pay for insurance, I have been waiting for 3 weeks now and it seems like they Just dont want to pay out my insurance even though I have followed all the procedures and I dont know what to do anymore.
cell phone repair
I bought a Huawei GR3 Last year October from Edgars La Lucia, I bought it on my credit card and took insurance for the phone through Edgars. I booked my GR3 in for repair on the 28th of June as the phone will only boot up to the Huawei logo and no further, I and was told it will take 2 - 5 weeks to repair. It is now the 7th of August and after a dozen phone calls and visits to the La Lucia Edgars store, I am no closer to getting my phone back, and no one can tell me when I will get it back.

I took my Samsung A1 Jace in for repairs on Saturday the 8th July 2017 at 19h36. The phone shut down and didn't respond. I brought it back to Edgars Canal Walk where I originally purchased lost year May 2016.
I visited the store again on the 22nd July 2017 to find out if the phone was repaired, they received a few phones but not mine.
On the 27th I called the store to find out if the phone was ready and a very rude consulted told me that they would sms me when they were ready and that I shouldn't called them. Then proceeded to drop the call while I was asking a her a question.
I then decided to leave it and call another time. After failing for the past half an hour for anyone to answer the phone I would like to lodge a conplaint.
Can anyone please give me any feedback on where my phone is? All I want is an answer and an estimated time frame. And to collect my phone.

I purchased a pair of shoes from an edgars branch. The shoes is still almost brand new and is falling apart. I wanted to exchange the shoes at potchefstroom branch the staff was arrogant and rude. The took my shoes and the slip and refused to give it back. They said they will email head office and let me know. This is totally unexeptable. I am really dissapointed in the poor service i received. Please assist with this problem as soon as possible or this matter will be taken further.
trying to close my account
On 31 July 2017 I paid up my Edgars account at Kolonnade shopping centre and requested the account to be closed. The shop assistant had 3 cellphones calling [protected] for nearly 30 minutes but no connection was made. On 01 August 2017 at 09:15 I called the same number, at last a male person answered and verified my details, he then put me though to the "cancellations department". After 20 minutes no one came back to me and I hung up. On 01 August 2017 at 17:30 I talked to Nontando at the same number. She verified my details and put me through to the "cancellations department. After 13 minutes no one came back to me and I hung up. How can I close my Edgars account?
subscription fee
I previously sent a complaint about someone purchasing airtime on my Edgars account. The card was never lost and always with me. After battling for months and months to be credited i sent a complaint to Hello Peter only then i received a call from someone who advised me that i will be credited.
This month i checked my statement and saw that i have been paying a OTA prepaid voucher registration fees of R22.80 every month for i don't no how long. This is not something i subscribe to and i want to be credited ASAP
The response from Hello Peter gave me numbers to contact but these numbers are uncontactable
Please assist as this is really pathetic now.

My name is Zwiande Mbedzi I'm currently having an account with Edgars. My problem is that I've been billed R60 for the past few years/months for something that I did not consent to. I would like to be fully compensated for the money that was deducted for this Edgar's VIP That I did not consent to. I would like disciplinary action to be taken to the person responsible for this unethical business practice as a loyal edcon group customer I'm starting to get very disappointed in their level of service.
wrong charges
Disgusting service! I want to close my account immediately, I have been trying to sort out a problem with airtime charges on my account since may 2017. According to the call centre a request for reversal has been put in several times. I have only been helped by useless staff members who take no action in solving the issue. My handbag was stolen inside the Edgars store at Bayside mall. We immediately alerted the security. I went back about 20 minutes later and was told by the lady at the door that they could not find anything. I then questioned how they were able to check the cameras so quickly and asked to speak to a control room operator. The guard came to the entrance where we were standing and proceeded to tell me that they could not see anything. I once again asked how they could check so fast and they said that there are certaim places in the shop that the cameras are not able to reach. I asked to see footage of us inside the shop and he told me that it is against company policy. At this time, the store manager came up to me and said that I needed to follow him to his back office. I followed him and he told me the same thing. I got agitated and raised my voice as my handbag with all my cards and my kar keys was stolen inside his shop and he could not be bothered to check the cameras and I have a little baby and were stuck without transport. He told me that he finds me disrespectful and that it is not his responsibility to keep an eye on my belongings to which I replied that I do no need him to check my belongings but to help me find out who stole my bag. He told the control room operator in front of me not to deal with me anymore. I find it utterly suspicious and concerning that the mayter was dealt with in this manner and that I was treated like the criminal and the criminal was protected. I still insist on seeing the person who stole my bag inside your Edgars store and want to clarify why it is company policy not to view camera footage and why they cannot see who stole my bag as the whole roof is covered with cameras?
stone harbour jeans
I bought three stone harbour jeans of which one tore. Took it back and it was exchanged for a new one. Now the other two have also torn and the cashier never gave me a copy of my slip. I would appreciate it if Edgars can assist me to exchange the two jeans. I never had any issues with the quality of stone harbour jeans, but this is clearly poor quality material.

I purchased a pair of Mens Bronx, black leather shoes from Edgars Store, West Street, Durban, South Africa, last year.
I was told by the salesperson that this was a pair of GENUINE leather. It definitely looks so and for a price of R599, 95, i was convinced. Besides, i only wear formal LEATHER shoes.
Unfortunately, this year it developed a tear/crack (look at pics) along the right foot. I am a 53yrs professional male who wears it at irregular intervals, only to work which entails very little walking.
I am very disappointed with the quality of this name brand shoe, especially when great care and pride is excercised.

Edgars is by far the worst service provider! I took my iPhone in for repairs, two months later am still without a phone. I have had to be the one chasing after them making endless phone calls! I was then offered R8000 as compensation for an iPhone 7, yet my screen had been the only thing shattered, after refusing that offer and pleading for my broken phone back, they still did nothing let alone return a phone call I wouldn't advice anyone to insure with them.
