I tried to send an email 2 edcon HR and im not receiving one response from them. I have worked for edcon almost 6 years and i am not with them anymore.
I lost my job due to something that happend..
Last year i received calls from legal that i was handed over for an account i dont know about.. I had n stuff account and i was never informed that they were going to transfer my credit from my staff account to n new account.
Is that possible if they dont inform you or let you know. The statements i receive shows i have n R1 account..
When i phone customer services, they told me that i have 2 accounts by them that i just know about the one.
I want to know what i can do about this problem and who can i talk to, because this is not my fault that the people off edcon, can't do they're job right for not informing people.
I cant pay something that is not signed by me, or pay for something i was not informed about.
Please let me know.

adding payments to my account without my consent.
Good Day two months ago I checked my statement at Edgars. I found out that i have been paying double the amount for a funeral and accident cover, a simcard/cellphone or airtime from 2015 and someone registered me to received a club membership book from Jet. I am aware of the Accident and funeral cover but not that it should be double. A complaint was logged that very same day my id number [protected]. I was told i will get a call back to clarify to make a payment back to my account for all of these monthly installments I have been paying. Its been two months and i haven't received a call back or feedback. Last night i went to Edgars and no one could help me. This is fraud. Im not sure if there is a bonus given to your cashiers for just adding things accounts. What is going to be done about this?

"I recently discovered that I have been billed for 'Mobile Content' since January 2016; this was unauthorized and against the spirit of the Consumer Act.
The following requires immediate action;
>Written confirmation of cancellation of the 'Mobile Content'
>Refund of this charge from day 1 in 2016; otherwise your proof that I requested this
cover.
This 'Mobile Content' fee should be cancelled with immediate effect and all charges reversed WITH INTEREST & refunded to me"
This is unacceptable and very 'underhanded' behavior from a corporate & 'trustworthy' company like Edgars." ('close quote').

Very disappointed with Edgar's. It seems like you are not interested in your customer complaints and dealing with them. I have no further choice but to contact the ombudsman and lodge a formal complaint against how you have robbed me as your loyal customer. I queried this about 3 months ago and no one was able to provide me with feedback. I was billed for airtime that I did not subscribe to. I have requested for call recordings but no one could provide me with it. Edgar's keeps passing the buck saying it was a 3rd party. My account lies with you guys so surely someone should take responsibility for charging me for something that I did not subscribe to. I am on the verge of closing this account but before doing that I need answers.

The one bottle smells like something completely different and the other bottle that smelt perfectly fine, had the spray mechanism break after about 2 sprays... nothing comes out at all!

fraudulent debiting of my account for airtime and data
i recently applied for credit and was informed that edgars has blacklisted me. edgars never contacted me regarding this arrears at any time. i did not purchase anything from edgars in a very long time so i requested a statement which reflected that it was for airtime and data. i never took any data or airtime contracts with edgars as i have a cellphone and data contract which more than covers my usage each month. i contacted edgars who notified me that they will cancel the subscription and credit my account. today i was notified that the subscription was cancelled however my account will not be credited. i find this as an abuse of a consumer and will be taking this matter to the Ombudsman and the consumer court if necessary. the matter is with my attorneys at present and we are preparing to launch an action for the emotional trauma and damages suffered as a result of the adverse listing and the emabarrassment suffered. should i not receive a satisfactory resolution to this matter by close of business on 12 April 2019, i will proceed as advised.

no signage or staff to indicate that there is a men's fitting room.
I went to Edgars in Paarl Mall on 2nd of October 2019 with my eye on buying a shirt. When I went into the only designated fitting room I was shocked to find ladies getting dressed with open doors and standing outside the cubicles in their underwear. When I went to the desk to complain they told my wife that I was wrong to go into the fitting room, where there was no staff managing it. She then went ont to say that there is a mens fitting room, when I asked her where it was at she pointed me to a closed door with no staff and no signage. I was then told that it was the men's fitting room. I then decided against buying the item due to bad service.
I find it very unpleasant and very unprofessional to allow situations like that to happen in a well established company like yours.
It place's me and I can only imagine the ladies in a very unpleasant situation.

I took my phone, which was purchased on Edgars Acc, in for repairs on the 3rd of February. I have it insured with hollards at Edgars.
The lady at the cellphone counter assured me, the courier will collect the item on Monday the 4th, and she will be able to give some feedback on Wednesday the 6th.
I gave it some time and called the store Friday the 8th, only to hear that there was no trace of my claim, and I should wait till Tuesday 12th for the initial lady to be back from leave, Monday the 11th I called again, and could not get hold of anyone at the cellphone counter, I left a message to be called back, eventually after hours I called and asked to speak to one of the floor managers on duty.
She explained to me that the cellphone will take 4-6 weeks for repairs at its a long process the item has to go thru, to the depot, then to insurance, then the repairs and then the same trip back to the store, I understood this, but my main concern was that I have still not gotten any feedback as to where my phone was and what the actual problem was with it, also why my claim for was gone!
The manager assured that she will get the person which worked that day to call me back with some info, I received the call only to hear that Finrite had to received my claim. At this stage it was already 8 days later. I was beyond myself, I kept my calm and said thanks.
I called Finrite myself on Tuesday 12th, they had no trace of the phone on their side.
Wednesday the 13th I called the store again trying to get hold of the lady who still havent called me back with feedback since the 6th, I spoke to another guy he said that he will call me back as the initial lady was on leave, after an hour he called and said she did follow up, she has all the details, she will give me a call when she's back at work.
The 14th I gave Finrite a call again, my phone was now fixed, I asked whether they knew how much the excess whould be, the stated that the claim hasnt been approved at this moment and I will know only after that process has completed.
Today, Monday the 18th I received an sms to my mom;s phone that the courier's have picked up my phone. 15 days! No feed back from the lady who took my claim!
I called the store now, she is at work, and tells me that she gave her co-worker all the information to give to me, which I explained that 15 days later I have gathered all the info from other parties and still have no feedback from her, I told her I would like to speak to their store manager when I can come into store as I work in CBD, by the time I get to Kuils River the stores are almost closed.
No apologies from her side, no mention of her never following up for 15days, I was livered, I just put the phone down on her as I can not believe how she;s trying to argue that she has feedback for me now, only once I manged to FINALLY get hold of her.
No one will reimburse me for the multiple calls I had to make to this Edagrs store, nor Finrite or the repair center!
I travel from Kuils River to the CBD on a daily basis via train, I am completely cut off from my family when im in transit, all I wanted to know is some feedback regarding my phone.
I'm completely and utterly disgusted by the service I recieved from this department and store!
I worked for Edgars myself in 2003 for 2 years, and back then I can assure you that service was 100% better than what i've received in the last 15 years!
You providing a service, client-facing, I would expect better people skills and communication then what ive received.
I'm definetely not lost for words, I can continue to ramble on and on about you upset I am, but I know who ever is reading this isn't personally responsible for the lack of their employees.
I work in the right type of industry where I could make this compaint go viral and add much bad publicity to the Edcon brand, but I believe that there are processes that needs to be followed before escalating a situation.

From December 2018 I've been calling RMCS to refund the fraudulent data&airtime bill the Edcon has handed over to VVM debt collectors. Ive been put on the ICT as bad payer cause of this account which I never recieved the airtime&data which im being billed for.now im getting warnings of blackilisting in 24 hours.Im sending this to my lawyers to sue Edcon for defamation of character&for losses to be incured of R12 million if im blacklisted tomorrow on 16 February 2019 for a fraudulent account.

I tried to return it back, but the so called manager by the name of Paulus Mojalefa told me that the dress is like that after washing it twice what do I expect. On 05/12/2018 I settled my account (R319.51) but when I received my next statement dated 07/12/2018 there was a balance of R26.52. I immediately sent them an e-mail but they refused to close the account if there is an amount outstanding.
I am extremely busy at work every day and forgot about the problem as I have other things to worry about.
Today I called them, but they still refuse to close the account if there is an outstanding balance. The balance is made up of service fees and account protection plan. When I asked to speak to a Manager I was put on hold for a very long time until I dropped the call.
Please help me to close the account as I am not going to pay them anything. I already settled my account on 05/12/2018.
promotions sent to clients to increase their credit limit
So, over the past few months I have been receiving sms's from Edgar's to increase my credit limit and get 40% off my next purchase of over R1900. At the beginning of January I decided to make use of this promotion and called the call centre. I spoke to one on of the agents and she told me that Edgar's needs to Fica its clients and I should send my Id and proof of residence. I was a bit annoyed at this point as this wasn't communicated with or prior to these sms's. After a while Edgar's sent an SMS stating that Fica is required. I then emailed my id & proof of residence to the compliance department. After a few days I phone again to proceed with the limit credit only to be told I should contact the fica department, I refused I told them to interact with their departments directly then calls get cut. Phone again and again and again still same feedback, the attitude at the call centre is poor. On Friday I decided to call again, apparently fica was not loaded as a fica form was not completed, this was not stated on the SMS requesting the documents! They discarded the other documents I sent because of this. The compliance lady emailed me the fica form which I sent back immediately with the supporting documents again. On Saturday morning she calls me to say Fica has been successful and I can proceed with the limit increase. Note that a week ago I have already sent my pay slips as this was a requirement for the increase. I went into the Clearwater store to proceed with it as I thought it would be easier as lots of time and calls already has been wasted trying to do this, not once did they call back when they cut the calls. At the store the phone cuts several times, I had to do the credit assessment twice and then to be told I don't qualify for the promotion with no valid reason. I already have a credit limit of almost R12000 with a 0 balance owing, I have an outstanding credit scoring and enough disposable income as on my salary slips. A promotion sent to me turned into a nightmare. Seems to be a scam. Edgar's needs to step up their processes and business operations or won't last long. Disappointed to say the least with this whole experience...

I want to take advantage of the 30% discount if you buy for R1500.00 - what a nightmare.
I told them just increase by R50.00 - no luck...they just don't get it.
EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!No wonder they running themselves into the ground...no discretion.

refund on overpaid account
I incorrectly overpaid my account by R3000. I sent all the documents required - I followed up via email 3days later. no response. another 4 days later I phoned again just to be told that they have not received my documents. the lady gives me the same address and told me to wait 7days. if I sent it to an address and they did not get it - how will they get it if I send it to the SAME address. and then wait 7 days to be told again that they did not receive it. I spoke to the supervisor. he told me the same. eventually he said I can send it to his address but I still have to wait 7 days. so after 7 days (which will then be 14 days) they can say they have not received it? and then what? for such a large company this is really not customer service when in need of help.
The manager just phoned me now to say that he received my documents BUT he cannot commit to payment.

I went to a jet store in jane furse plaza on the 27/01/2018 and bought certain items. The cashier by the name of mmaleje moukangoe scanned something else after scanning my clothes and on the slip it appears as jet medium vest for an amount of r0.01. I don't care how cheap that item it, the fact is I never bought it and cannot pay for what I did not buy. If this is how y'all make money then guess what, you'll loose customers because I am gonna tell people to be vigilant and I swear she will know me well tomorrow because i'm going back to the store so she could tell me what I was buying or paying for. If this is done everyday all day to everyone then you are making hell of money from fraud. It is day light robbery and you know it. Rather increase vat or prices than to make it so obvious. I won't tolerate this and you better stop it or i'll make edcon go viral.

The Rosebank branch of Red Square has failed to comply with Edgars Returns Policy.
The manager and staff on three occasions turned me away, claiming they dont have cash to refund the purchase, although I presented original receipts and the product is sealed.
I was told to "wait until February when the store has money".
Kindly respond urgently, as this can become a very nasty confrontation if I return to the store!

On Saturday 12 January 2019 I went to your Edgars store in Church Street Pietermaritzburg with my 14 year old daughter, while shopping I was disgusted with the vulgar music that was playing in your store. The song with the mother f----- words was been played at high volume. I approached a staff member about the disgusting music that was been played. She informed me that there was nothing that they could do as per the manager this was the kind of music that brought customers into the store. Sadly if this is the kind of manager that runs your store he is a poor example for someone of authority. This is the first time that your standard of customer service has dropped to such an all time low.

Good day.
Over the last few days, my card has not worked at any Edcon store. Not only is this frustrating but insulating when I am told it is my card that is the problem.
I was at a local mall, I went from Forever New, where my card worked, to Edgars where my card did not work and I was told my card was the problem in front of other customers forcing me to put my bill on my friends account who I was with at the time. From there I went straight to Dischem next door, where my card worked. Seeing as there was nothing wrong with my card we decided to go try pay my friends account a little down the mall at CNA. Here again my card would not work and I was told that they sometimes have problems, at least I was not told I had reached my limits, insufficient funds or my card was blocked like I was at Edgars. From CNA we went to Mug and Bean, where my card worked.
Giving it another try, I decided to go to a small shopping centre close to home, the next day, to try pay my friends account. Going from the Spar, where my card was working, to the CNA. Here again my card would not work and I was told my card was the problem. I eventually had to transfer a large amount of money to my boyfriend so he could pay for me. From there I went straight to Woolworths where my card worked.
I don't understand how my card is not working at any of your Edcon stores but after all the effort, embarrassment and the possibilities of this happening again I would be hesitant to go there again.
