Extra waiting time
Of course there are a lot of excellent instructors & depending on your luck you can get someone truly exceptional.
But the most critical downside of this institution which would ruin your all plans for the year, is the consistent delays in every step. I would recommend this institution to anyone (specifically Male candidates - as I have got feedback and observed classes getting allocated to Female candidates & to the priority Platinum candidates much early), only if they can invest 6 to 9 months of time to get license.
This is the process: At first step there would be waiting period of approximately 12 to 15 days after your theory classes to get Mock test slot. Then once you clear your RTA Theory test, waiting period of 21-25 days to get the Practical sessions. Post practical sessions, for 1hour Mandatory Night Class, again waiting period would be around 12-15 days. Then if you fail once the Internal Assessment, which is 95% common thing, again waiting period of 15-20 days to get mandatory 4 hours classes. So the same thing will be there for Parking classes, Parking test, Highway classes & Final test.
It seems they are constantly booking/registering students even though they are over-booked.
It is already been 5 days, I am waiting to get my 4 hours mandatory class, after first failure attempt of Internal Assessment. Every time call center people is only telling: ‘Concerned department will call you back’. Also they will not raise/submit any complaint prior 15 days waiting period completion. My waiting time is finish still nobday contact Highway clasis

Driving class
I am waiting for the Driving class for over 3 weeks.
I believe I since I've opted for Golden Chance, no one is paying attention at EDI for my driving class.
I have already had to renew my learning permit as I could not get a driving class on Sunday when I am available so cannot take classes from Monday to Friday.
Also visited the Al Quoz branch over 5 times for the same thing but still no confirmation of the class.
Every time I call, they answer and say it is escalated, so I don't know still when will the class be given.

Killing waiting time. Choose edi, if you can consider min 6 to 9 months

Training class request
The instructors are truly exceptional. However, a downside of this institution is their consistent tendency to postpone the training schedule. This results in a waiting period of approximately 2 to 3 weeks before commencing the training class, which proves to be quite time-consuming, especially in conjunction with our learning permit. It's important to note that the learning permit necessitates renewal every 3 months, and I found myself having to renew mine due to these recurrent delays in training classes. Unfortunately, when reaching out to their customer service, their assistance is limited, with the recurring response being that there is nothing to be done except wait for someone to contact us. The reasons behind these delays are undeniably inconvenient.
Desired outcome: Hope to resolve their scheduling issue for training classes as waiting for 2 to 3 weeks is completely time-wasting.
Subject: Continued Delay in Driving Training Classes - Registration Number: [protected]
Dear EDI team,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the ongoing delay in the scheduling of my driving training classes, associated with my registration number [protected]. I had previously submitted a complaint about this issue on August 9, 2023, and unfortunately, the matter remains unresolved up to this point.
As someone eager to acquire the necessary driving skills and knowledge, I am genuinely disappointed by the extended wait time for the commencement of my training. Despite my anticipation and excitement, I have not received any update on when the driving classes would be scheduled. This has caused inconvenience and frustration, as I am unable to plan my other commitments accordingly.
I kindly request your immediate attention to this matter. It is my hope that the driving school can expedite the resolution process and provide me with a clear and definitive timeline for when my driving training classes will commence. Given the time that has passed, I believe it is only fair for me to be promptly informed about the new schedule and any steps being taken to ensure a smooth and timely training experience.
I understand that unforeseen circumstances can sometimes lead to delays, but as a valued customer, I believe transparency and effective communication are essential in such situations. I appreciate your consideration and request that you keep me updated regarding the progress being made to resolve this matter.
I am eagerly looking forward to receiving a response from you at your earliest convenience. You can reach me via email or by phone as per records in your system. I hope we can work together to resolve this situation and ensure a positive learning experience.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Bhebz

Delays in allocating schedules
I must say the scheduling department service is pathetic.
We have to wait for weeks, call n number of times, and only thing they say that slots might not be available hence they have not called.
My simple question to EDI is that if you don't have slots to allocate existing students then why do you keep taking new admissions?
Your scheduling department never calls back.
You are prompt to take payments similarly you must be prompt in allocating classes too.
You should first ensure that the existing students are allocated timely classes to complete their course before you take new admissions.
If I had known about this pathetic service I would have never allowed my daughter to join EDI.
Humble request to you to seriously look into this issue and improve your services and make your customers happy. I am truly regretting.
Dear EDI,
I chose to write on this platform only after not getting any positive response from your official channels. My daughter (reg. # [protected]) has been waiting for a week to book 2 classes to clear parking test. And everytime I follow up I get only one reply that says slots are not available. She needs to finish her course before university starts. With such pathetic service from EDI I now doubt if this is even possible. Please look into this matter seriously and help.

Test Schedule is so slow
Dear Mr. EDI,
I'd want to complain about the timetable; I'm three tests away from getting my license, but why couldn't you offer a test one time straight and finish all of our tests and get out of your school? I'm tired of waiting for your schedules. I've called several times, and each time you say you've already requested, but no one has called. Please concentrate on your students! How can I remember all of these parking points? It's been two weeks since my last exam. My student number is [protected]
Desired outcome: I appreciate your quick assistance

Service is pathetic!!! Feel like total scam!!!
Date : 3th Aug 2023
My Fiancé (Protected ID) join the unlimited class on 20th March 2023, paid all amount at once.
Once pay done, EDI neglect and don't care about the class, after 2 weeks got theory exam (ok understood, its mentioned in terms) but after the whole hell process of waiting start, they never have slot available , every time same dialogue "someone will call"... you have to wait a month for one class.
One day my fiancé reach only 5min late, they charge her whole day class money additional.
I got my Driving license from Belhasa 6 year back, very smooth experience.
I taken admission of my Fiancé in EDI expecting more better experience, now feel like trap in a scam. (feel like hard earned money wasted!)
I request concern authority to look into it on priority.
Thank You,
Desired outcome: Please someone call me ([protected]) and get sort it on priority.

Complaint regarding emirates driving institute's misleading information
Dear edi,
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service I received from Emirates Driving Institute in Ajman. Upon signing up for driving training, I was provided with inaccurate information by one of your employees, which has resulted in a significant inconvenience and financial loss.
When I registered for the training, I specifically informed the staff member that I reside in Ajman and would prefer to undergo the training there. The employee assured me that the training would take place in Ajman, which influenced my decision to proceed with the enrollment. However, after making a payment of 4200 AED, I was informed that the training sessions are only available in Dubai.
This situation has caused a great deal of frustration and inconvenience, as I now have to commute a considerable distance to attend the training sessions, in addition to the unexpected expenses incurred for transportation. The misinformation provided at the time of enrollment has resulted in financial hardship and has left me feeling deceived by your institute.
Furthermore, when I contacted a supervisor at Emirates Driving Institute to discuss the situation and request a refund due to the misleading information, I was informed that the refund process would take an unreasonably long time. The supervisor stated that the refund would only be available after 15 days, which is an unacceptable delay given the circumstances.
I believe that such a lengthy refund processing time is unreasonable and adds further inconvenience to an already frustrating situation. I urge Emirates Driving Institute to expedite the refund process to provide a fair and timely resolution to this matter. Your prompt attention to this issue is appreciated.
As a customer, I expect transparency, honesty, and clear communication from your institute. I strongly urge you to take immediate action to address these concerns, rectify the situation, and ensure that such misleading practices are not repeated in the future.
I kindly request that you review my case thoroughly and provide a refund promptly. Additionally, I suggest your institute reevaluate its communication and training practices to prevent similar incidents from happening to other customers.
I hope to receive a prompt response from Emirates Driving Institute, acknowledging my concerns and outlining the steps taken to resolve this matter satisfactorily.
Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter.
Sincerely,
Abdessalam ghazal

Waiting Time
This is my second time posting here, you can see attached image. So I cleared my practical training on Tuesday, July 18, and immediately scheduled a night training as mandatory on the next day. I've followed up many times and still haven't received any call. Also, I already received a notification to renew my learning permit on 24/08/23. This is really disappointing the amount of waiting time is not really good for us students, we will lose our momentum for learning and practicing. Instead of having it in one go you'll end up failing and do this over again and stuck in a loop.
Besides that instructors focus on their mobile phones and chatting/texting with each other and sometimes doing video calls while in practical training. It is really distracting at the same time you feel less priority in terms of education.
I hope this will be resolved not just on my side.

Prolong wait for the practical training and poor customer service
To EDI management:
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the prolonged wait for my driving practical training and the subpar customer service I have experienced at your esteemed driving school. Furthermore, I enrolled for driving lessons in March 2023 with the expectation of receiving timely and professional service, but unfortunately, my experience has been quite the opposite.
First and foremost, I must address the excessive delay in scheduling my driving practical training sessions. It has been more than 6 days since I renewed my learning permit and the constant request for my 1-hour parking training, and I am yet to receive any confirmation or schedule for my practical training. I understand that driving schools may have a certain volume of students, but this prolonged wait is both inconvenient and frustrating. As a learner driver, I am eager to enhance my driving skills and obtain my driving licence promptly, and this delay hampers my progress and confidence.
Furthermore, the customer service I have encountered during this process has been exceptionally disappointing. Despite numerous attempts to communicate with your staff through phone calls, I have received minimal assistance and frequently encountered unhelpful and dismissive attitudes. It is disheartening to be met with such unprofessionalism when seeking assistance or clarification regarding my training. As a paying customer, I believe I deserve better treatment and respect.
I understand that managing a driving school involves various logistical challenges and high demand, but it is crucial to prioritize customer satisfaction and efficient service. I would like to request immediate action to rectify these issues. Specifically, I expect the following:
* An urgent update on the status of my practical training sessions, along with a confirmed schedule for the same.
* Improved communication and responsiveness from your staff when addressing customer queries or concerns.
* An assurance that steps will be taken to prevent such delays and customer service lapses in the future.
If these matters are not addressed promptly and effectively, I regretfully inform you that I will be compelled to escalate my concerns by seeking an alternative driving school or exploring other means of resolving this matter.
I believe in providing feedback to help businesses improve, and I trust that you will take my concerns seriously. I look forward to a swift resolution and a more satisfactory experience moving forward. Please acknowledge the receipt of this complaint letter within [a reasonable time frame] and provide me with an update on the steps being taken to address the issues raised.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope that we can resolve these concerns amicably and restore my confidence in your driving school.

Driving Classes
I was told after I passed my theory test (June 12), the the waiting will be 3-4 weeks. I called to re-confirm and the representative told me that maximum they would call me by 12th July. It's already EOD of 13th July and I did not hear from anybody! I keep on calling them and they would just say that somebody will call.
Enrolling in EDI is such a waste of time. They ask you for a waiting period of 3-4 weeks, but they won't do anything to extend your learning permit. You wasted 4 weeks to wait for the classes to start. To begin with, it is not the fault of the student that they have backlog of schedule or instructors. They should not accept new new students if they now they cannot handle. They are pooling their students so they will not have shortage of students/funds. T
Other driving schools are not as irresponsible as this. I should have known and should've invested my money in other driving schools. I do not recommend EDI. They will waste your time.
Desired outcome: I would like an immediate callback to schedule my classes ASAP or to issue a refund if I withdraw my enrollment

Extra waiting period??
I opened my file on 11/06/22 and gave theory test on 21/06/23 and then i waited around 15/16 days waiting period, after finally getting my classes i got 3 classes and then again they have given me waiting period of around 10-15 days for what? They should mention this at start, i feel scammed and taken advantage of as i even paid full in advance and took the unlimited youth course. Im so disappointed and regret choosing this school as my main goal is to get license before my uni starts. Why is it called youth course when there is no benefit for me a student in addition to this my friend who started at belhasa same time as me is now giving internal tests.
Desired outcome: i would like what was promised to me which is 8 hours of training per week or a refund would work too

Time schedule
I have registered in Edi on 23 of sep 2022 and now its been 10 months and i am still fighting for the classes to practice.Nobody inform while registering that it would take this much time.I have already renewed 3 times my learning permit..The institute is so pathetic in giving classes on time. The failure doesnt make us disappoint as the delay in classes do.Even if you would request that you want to withdraw your file, they would have again take 2 3 working days and come with the conclusion that there is no such clause to refund rather the customer needs to pay 1000 aed extra to take the file back. Its nothing but a scam.I have clearly mentioned that my job profile is something where car is mandatory ,everyday i m struggling in my work as well its costing me too high for my daily transportation expenses. There is no one to hear you.I would never suggest anyone to for this institute for the driving class, because its nothing but playing with customer.Till now i have no idea when i would get the class or when i would get the driving licence. As per the representative the timing to arrange or provide the slot it would take almost 10 to 15 working days, and thats true...it takes.accordingly a person would wait for 15 days for the class then need to book the test which would again take almost a week..so.overall half of the month would go like this only. Then like this if you unfortunatly fails the test, you need to renew the permit again after 3 months, completely disappointed with Edi services..would never suggest to anyone.
Desired outcome: There is no solution.

1 month waiting time
Reg.ID [protected]
I registered at EDI on May 21 and was informed that the waiting time for the practical training is 4 weeks after taking the theory exam and finished my online lesson on May 27. I passed my theory test on June 2, it's been a month since passed my test, and already followed up my practical training 3 times. But there is still no date for my practical training and in a few more weeks my RTA permit will expire and have to pay for it. Please kindly address this matter.

Behavioral hazard
Date 21-Jun-2023, 7:30 am to 9:00 am, Abu Dhabi
I was prepared and ready for final road test, we ware 10-15 people batch in the bus.
After waiting for 45 min the inspector came and first person started driving.
and the bus supposed to follow the driving test vehicle.
Unfortunately, the bus driver missed to follow the driving test vehicle, The bus driver spent about 5-6 minutes to track down the driving test vehicle.
by the time the inspector was really frustrated he came and scolded the bus driver, next was my turn for test and i was adjusting SMS (Seat, Mirror, Seat belt) as practiced, the inspector kept screaming go go. did not give me time to do proper adjustment, instructed to take U turn, and i was maintaining 30kmph speed, immediately after U turn asked to stop, i was going right lane and to stop, i saw there was vehicles approaching on right lane and there was a big road hump, the inspector pushed the accelerator and turned steering wheel himself 2 lanes at once, after me few more people complained same thing.
He literally took out his frustration on us, now i have to spend lot of time and money to retake the test.
This type of behavior impact on others, sometimes it may cause serious damage.
What are your thoughts on this?
Desired outcome: The Driving test result Fail.

Chaotic and inefficient system.
I am writing this review to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with my experience at EDI. I enrolled in their driving school with high hopes of receiving quality instruction and a smooth learning experience, but unfortunately, my expectations were far from met.
First and foremost, the customer service was abysmal. From the very beginning, it was evident that they had little regard for their students' concerns or inquiries. Whenever I tried to reach out to their staff for assistance, I was met with unprofessional and dismissive responses. It seemed like they were more interested in rushing through the process rather than ensuring their students' satisfaction.
Furthermore, the low staff manning at resulted in a severe lack of availability for training schedules. It appears they were severely understaffed, as getting a class booked took an unnecessarily long time. The delays were not only inconvenient but also hindered my progress in obtaining my driver's license. I was constantly met with excuses and promises that were never fulfilled, further adding to my frustration and disappointment.
Another significant issue I encountered was the excessive delays in scheduling the actual driving classes. It took ages before they were able to book my lessons, and the constant rescheduling only added to the delays. This not only wasted my time but also hindered my ability to learn and progress efficiently. It was evident that proper organization and management were lacking, resulting in a chaotic and inefficient system.
Overall, I cannot recommend EDI to anyone seeking driving lessons. The poor quality of customer service, low staff manning, and prolonged delays in scheduling classes made my experience with them incredibly frustrating and unproductive. I strongly advise potential customers to explore other options and find a driving school that values their time and provides quality service.

Driving lessons and test
After researching driving institutes in Dubai, we chose Emirates Driving Institute. Unfortunately, we have had a very disappointing experience with EDI and cannot recommend them.
Our son signed up for driving lessons with EDI in March. He completed the online theory and went on to book his driving lessons.
His first 2 lessons (30 min each lesson) were spent with the instructor going through the controls in the car; this seems an excessive amount of time. At the end, when asked to put the gear in drive the car did not move because there was a problem with the engine, which resulted in the car needing to be moved to the repair garage.
During the next 2 lessons the instructor paused the lesson to be able to pray in the mosque, with no additional time added to his lessons for the post time.
After the 5th lesson the instructor informed our son that he was going on holiday, so a new instructor had been assigned
The new instructor's English was poor. (Despite us requesting lessons in English)
Both instructors use their phones throughout the lessons.
The 2nd instructor gave conflicting instructions to our son about driving, resulting in confusion for him.
The 2nd instructor leaned over our son at the end of a lesson to reverse the car with him sitting at the controls and crashed the car into a parked car behind.
Last week, our son took his first driving test, he arrived 15 min early as instructed and was kept waiting 30 mins. He was informed they had had to make a change to an instructor as the examiner was not there.
The instructor immediately started to inform our son of violations he was making that he has not once been told about by either of the two previous instructors.
As a result, he failed the test and has been advised to book 4 more lessons and another test at a cost to him of around 700 AED.
Our son asked to speak to a supervisor immediately after the test, who was quite patronising to him and ended by saying they will look into this. Not sure how or when we can expect to hear back.
I emailed EDI a week ago to complain about the above, and to give them the opportunity to respond. They initially replied to say that 'our complaint request has been escalated to the relevant department they will check, and you will receive the final confirmation from the concerned department regarding the same.' We have still not heard anything.
Desired outcome: At the very least an answer to my email or a call to explain why our son has had these experiences. The opportunity for a re-test with a qualified examiner at no cost to our son.
Dear EDI
I have just emailed you again in response to you finally reply to say my son has been called about this.
My son was called following the query he raised immediately after his test. None of the above complaints raised above have been dealt with.
I am shocked by your level of customer service, it is a disgrace.
His registration number is: [protected]
Please check your emails for my contact number, as the paying adult in this transaction, I would appreciate a call.

Dear EDI
As stated, I emailed the correct channel 3 weeks ago and I am still awaiting a response. I get the automated email to say 'Please be advised that your complaint request has been escalated to the relevant department they will check and you will receive the final confirmation from the concerned department regarding the same.'
Not sure how long you feel is an appropriate length of time in which to respond...
In my first email I gave you a week in which to respond before posting to here, that didn't seem to make any difference.
No need for you to respond to this, just use the correct channel and respond to my email or contact number that I have shared.
