Expedia Flight seat selection

I am writing today to express my complete dissatisfaction and frustration with my recent/current purchase through Expedia (Itinerary #[protected]).

When I booked this multi-city flight plan on their website, I was informed during several stages of the booking process that I was eligible for seat selection. We booked premium economy class at a cost of almost $8,400! Even as I checked out, I was walked through the process of selecting seats (for all segments) for my wife and me. At no point was I informed that there were any restrictions to the seat selection process.

I now understand that I’m unable to select seats for the Qantas operated flight between Sydney Australia and Los Angeles California. The reason given is that this is a code share flight coordinated with American Airlines. Again…there was never a mention of this limitation on the Expedia website as I booked our tickets, selected seats (seemingly) and paid. I’m being told that I must wait until we’re within 6 months of the flight, which will severely limit our seat choices and will likely end us up with undesirable seats and possibly not be seated together (13-hour flight). Again…all this for $8,400!

This is an extremely misleading marketing practice used by Expedia, and boarders on fraud in my opinion. If I had the time and inclination, I would seek legal advice as I’ve been deceived during this purchase.

I can confidently say that I will never use Expedia’s service again, and I’ll be telling my frequent traveler friends about this terrible (and costly) experience with your company. We all take several international trips a year, and I will not allow them to be deceived as I was!

Expedia Scam

I reserved a week trip at a hotel in Croatia Several months before a month long holiday in Italy. The plan was to reserve it, they did not ask for a credit card and we were advised we had plenty of time to cancel. As the trip got closer we realized we wouldn’t be able to go and made other arrangements. This was the last we thought of it until I got an alert from my credit card company that they had charged my card 1500$ for the stay. No attempt to contact us or remind us about the booking. I tried to reach out to Expedia and it was a black hole. No number to call, they’re online service said “someone will be with you shortly” and several hours later we got no response. This is not the first time they have screwed me out of my money by being non-responsive. The last time they called me to say the issue was resolved and it wasn’t and I had to pay twice for the same hotel. This company is a bunch of crooks and needs to be shut down before they continue to do more harm. I will continue to complain until I secure a full refund.

Expedia Legal resource against Expedia - Itinerary [protected]

We made reservations for Canada Trip in March 2022. Air travel was also confirmed. On June 13th I even got confirmation of the Air Travel Itinerary email from Expedia. I also saw my confirmed itinerary including Seat Numbers on Air Canada's official site.

Expedia site canceled the entire Multi-Destination itinerary on June 13th evening. My trip starts on June 17th. The Airline Reference number is 4DLIAX.

We did NOT cancel the reservations. It was canceled by Expedia/Air Canada.

I have spent 7 hours on call with Expedia agents in the last 24 hours without any luck. Your agents are not providing solutions or giving any good explanation.

I will appreciate if Expedia can provide me with alternate air travel at the same price same dates. I am going to explore legal alternatives if nothing works out.

Expedia Expedia customer service

I had a Hotel booked in Mallorca and could not keep it due to positive COVID test. I cancelled and the hotel assured me that they did not and would not charge me and that I should go through Expedia for a refund. I have a letter from the hotel. I have been on the phone every day for a week with Expedia. They finally got back to me today and said the hotel will not refund me. This is a blatant lie as the hotel never charged me EXPEDIA did. I don't know why anyone would insure their travel as Expedia will never refund. Been here more than once.

Desired outcome: I want a refund of $1018.20

I have been trying to claim my flights that were cancelled during covid. It os over 2k worth of flights and has taken more than 30 hours of phone time. Everytime I have been told we are close to a resolution, they do not call back. If you look at these itinerary numbers you will see the record of these phone conversations.

Expedia Flight canceled without redeem

Hi , I have bought 4 tickets for my family from Beirut to Athens dates April 16 to April 20 Y2020 , but in March 23rd I got notification from expedia that the flight is canceled due to the lockdown in Athens .

I called Expedia about 10 times trying to book new flights using the credit amount but they told me that no credit is available and we have to check with airline company. I checked 2 times with Agean airline and they confirm to me that Expedia has to solve the issue not the airline .

It 's 2 years that I did not get back my money and no solution I got from expedia .

Expedia Flights from Darwin to Maningrida for Elizabeth Hay and Chelsea Van Hintum

I purchased flights for myself and my daughter Chelsea Van Hintum.

At the time of booking there were no restrictions for being allowed entrance to Maningrida.

I have paid you just under $1000 for a service that you have not been able to provide me as it is now illegal for my daughter and I to enter Maningrida without being triple vaccinated for COVID.

I have called Expedia in regards to this matter and was told that I am unable to receive any kind of compensation.

It is illegal for you to sell me a service which you cannot provide me, so after receiving legal advice, I now know that you have to refund the purchase price to me.

Expedia Canceled flights on Iberia booked through Expedia

See below. Iberia cancelled these flights for the 3 of us and there were no other similar flights until the NEXT DAY and we could not accept those in our schedule. Expedia asked for a full credit back to me (see your note below) but I received only Iberia Airline credits in the amount of $169.50 x 3 = $505.50

Honestly, we can't use these credits as issued on Iberia and are terribly disappointed and it feels we've lost over $500 due to the Iberia cancellation! We are just devastated.

We needed to book other flights due to the Iberia cancellation and we saw there were only a few left of the itinerary we needed on Expedia, we booked itinerary Expedia [protected]. So we booked the new flights before we received ANY communication back from Iberia!

Could you please apply some of the Iberia credit dollars to these flights booked so we get something back for our money? Otherwise, we lost over $500 and in addition, had to pay ADDITIONAL hundreds of dollars for the new flights.

Expedia refund

I was booking today here in the ph june 4 maybe about 10am-01pm when i finally submit .It was declined since it has insufficient amount because i got the insurance if only i had not clicked the insurance i may had push through my booking.Please bring it back or refund it so that i can continue my booking.My case no is [protected].Please help so that i can book now.Thank you for your rapid assistance .Godbless.I was charge $528..70 and 5x that i tried and charge was also done for the transaction.Please help,need it badly and i want to book now

Expedia trip shortened without refund

Expedia changed the trip, making it half as long with no refund.

I would have saved $1000.00 dollars if I had booked directly with airline and hotel instead of getting cheated by Expedia.

Expedia Expedia promising a refund for a trip cancelled due to my medical problem an inability to travel at this time

I booked a trip through Expedia a couple of months ago, and as I got closer to the trip date I realized I would not be able to get around at the airport or resort due to a back injury and chronic back pain for 3 months whereby I am unable to stand for more than 5 minutes or walk more than 100 feet. My Doctor wanted me to schedule Back Surgery as soon as possible. I called Expedia, and spoke to an associate named Anna and she stated that if I sent a Doctor's note to her and American Airlines, she would cancel my trip and receive a full refund. I asked her 4 times on the recorded line if there would be any issues on receiving a full refund from each place prior to her cancelling, and she assured me that if I sent a Doctor's note to American Airlines, and to her I would receive a full refund. I sent her the Doctor's note and received a reply that I would hear from them within 3 business days. I also sent a Doctor's note to American Airlines and was told there are no refunds or exchanges, and that Expedia would need to refund my money. I spoke to a Manager at Expedia last night for an hour and 20 minutes and she basically said to send another email to the "complaints department" for American Airlines, and I received another reply from American Airlines that there are no refunds or cancellations and once again that Expedia needs to refund my money.

If I do not receive a response from someone at Expedia stating they will refund my money by Monday, I will be suing Expedia. I spent over $2000 for this trip, which is a lot of money to me and I would not have cancelled my reservation had I known I would not receive a refund. I would have gone on the trip anyway and just gotten assistance at the airport with a wheelchair to take me to the gate.

Expedia Flights on expedia

I booked Qantas flights through Expedia over 2 years ago. Booking Date: Oct 15, 2019. They were cancelled due to Covid. Qantas confirmed that they are fully refundable, but Expedia has to refund them since they were booked through Expedia. Expedia refuses to refund them even though Expedia acknowledges that they are refundable. Expedia even sent me an email confirming that they were sending me a refund, but never did so. I've spent 9 hours on the phone with them over the course of 11 phone calls over the past 2 years. Each time Expedia assures me that they will call me back. They have never called me back. Not once. They never send me the refund. They ignore me. This is the most despicable company I've ever dealt with. Here's the email they sent me:

We would like to inform you that we have successfully executed the credit to the ticket team for the flight which got cancel due to COVID-19, the amount of TOTAL USD 870.36 will be refund to your visa card ending with VIXXXXXXXXX**** original form of payment, with in the 12- 18 weeks approximately, once it get refunded you will get notification from our team or from your bank, keep updated with the latest news,

Desired outcome: I want a refund. If Expedia wants to keep their booking fee that's find. Just send me the rest.

The worst company I've ever dealt with. They confirmed with me in writing 6 months ago that I will be receiving a refund but they never process the refund. I'm still waiting. They tell me that they will respond but never contact me. They have been ignoring me for over 2 years and are hoping that I will just go away. Totally despicable company. This is the email they sent me 6 months ago:

Expedia Prepaid car rental

I prepaid for a Car Rental with insurance to be picked up the airport in Jacksonville, FL. Upon arrival there was no car available and I was stranded at the airport. Expedia will not refund me. I contacted the rental car co., and they did not receive any funds from Expedia so they will not refund me either. In my opinion Expedia is committing fraud.

MY wife just had the same problem. We had paid for car rental insurance for one week of 80.00. When my Wife got to the airport, the rental place closed before She got there and the next day She called them and ask for a car and they told her they had no car for her. I have spoken to another friend of mind and his son had the same problem in aAlabama. My wife's was in Newark,NJ. Stay away form this very dangerous place. Never again will we ever trust a car rental place again. Something is very wrong. I had called my Capital One bank and disputed the charge and they gave me a temporary credit. I just receive an email form them telling me that Expedia said they gave me the service and that I have to provide evidence. I will . Total fraud. How are they getting away with this fraud?

Expedia False advertisement

The reason why Im writing this is because I’m really upset with the situation I had and even though I will not get what I want ,I want to express myself.

I chose a package which included (flight + hotel + insurance).

The hotel said that free airport shuttle was included. I got an email from expedia telling me to send my flight information to the hotel in order to book the shuttle.

After sending my information and not getting any confirmation to double check I contacted expedia. I don’t have long distance to call the hotel. Expedia told me several times that everything was set up and my free shuttle was confirmed.

I sent an email to the hotel to confirm and they said that shuttle was provided only if my booking was directly to them. This is something that has to be specified by expedia and on the amenities. Expedia kept telling me that it was included at all times.

After I noticed this, I have contacted expedia like 25 times and the only option they give me is to cancel the hotel and chose another one. I don’t want to cancel the hotel because since I got a package deal, the hotels by itself are expensive and also, the hotels that says free shuttle are the “Rius” hotel which is the samething that Im goingthrough now. Is false advertisement.

I requested expedia to at least due to the inconvenience. Send me a refund to pay for my shuttle separately but they are very rude and disrespectful. however, I learned from this experience and I will never booked again through here or recommend expedia. I don’t want people to go through this. I have been wasting my time talking to expedia and they don’t help. All agents says different things. They don’t even know anything

Expedia Cancelled Flight with Air Moroc and Expedia

Back in JUNE 2020 I was given a voucher for 18 months, it finally expired and I want an immediate refund. I have contacted EXPEDIA and they are saying to contact AIR MAROC directly. AIR MAROC is telling us to contact EXPEDIA. Like will there be anyone who will help me on not? I want my money back. NOBODY IS REPLYING TO MY EMAILS FOR MONTHS!

Expedia Unable to use our credit

My husband and I have flight credits towards DELTA airlines with Expedia. I always book my own travel and went to our coupons to search flight and use them for an upcoming wedding trip. The credit was not applied to our purchase. Online offers a customer's service number to help use the credit, figuring we would just get it applied back to our card. Instead, the service team tells us we cannot use them because we didnt call them to book! And then they said they could reschedule our flights to apply the credit, but the tickets they offered doubled in price! We get passed down to 4 different reps to get NO WHERE. EXPEDIA HAS STOLEN OUR MONEY - $260.29 each. With no way of using our credit towards booking, and they cannot help with the current booking, and only be able to "help" by rescheduling our flights completely with double increase in pricing... That is ROBBERY. WE WANT OUR $$ BACK!

Desired outcome: We want our money back on the card we purchase the flight with.

Expedia Refund not honored after cancellation within hours

Booked a flights on United to Houston from NY. After booking I realized I have airline credits from United. Called Expedia customer service to apply the credits. Expedia Customer service informed me they could not apply the credits I will have to book directly with the airline. I called the airline and re-booked the flights directly by United the representative said they will cancel my flights with expedia. This happened within hours of my initial booking with Expedia. I checked my trips and saw that the trip was cancelled. 2 days later I see airline credits issued instead of a refund. Called Expedia representative and was told I could not receive a refund because I did not request a refund the airline cancelled the reservation not me.

Expedia Flights cancelled by airline repeatedly, too many expedia hands on this itinerary

We are 2 families (4 adults and 4 children) that booked a trip to Thailand in late October 2021. Expedia rates for Air Canada roundtrip and hotel package from Toronto to Phuket, Thailand departing June 20, 2022 for 19 days. The price was so lucrative and we booked it.

Original flights were departing Toronto- Hong Kong-Phuket on June 20. Political issues, war with Russia/Ukraine broke and there was a no-fly zone over Russia.

Expedia alerts us that the airline Air Canada had cancelled the flight Toronto-Hong Kong and rerouted us to fly Toronto-Vancouver-Hong Kong-Phuket instead.

2 weeks later, in April, Expedia alerted us that the airline Air Canada/ star alliance Cathay Pacific had canceled our flights Toronto-Vancouver-Hong Kong-Phuket as well as returning flights from Phuket to Hong Kong. Now we were left with no connecting flight from Phuket to Hong Kong.

We called Expedia several times during this course. At this time, the Expedia agents said there was NO flights available and were already asking us to cancel and issue refund, we were adamant about this, they looked into several flights and found us flights flying from Toronto- Frankfurt-Bangkok-Phuket, but we still no return/connecting flight from Phuket to Hong Kong. Air canada then cancels one family's reservation, flight from Toronto to Frankfurt, left us with no connecting flight to Frankfurt to catch the Frankfurt to Bangkok-Phuket flight. this is now mid May, with 27 days to go. Expedia failed to rebook and reissue the tickets. Just last week, Air canada cancels yet again Frankfurt to Bangkok flight, leaving us with only flight from Bangkok to Phuket.

I called Air canada directly, according to them, there are flghts available, the flights has to be booked as a whole roundtrip, not in segments, Expedia failed to submit this to Air Canada. That's the reason, our flights gets cancelled by Air Canada continuously because Expedia can't rebook us in segments.

Meanwhile, with the other family that we are traveling together with, they have all their flights with Air Canada Toronto-Frankfurt-Bangkok-Phuket confirmed. Returning flights however - no connecting flight from Phuket to Hong Kong, they have Hong kong-Vancouver-Toronto confirmed. They are also waiting for Air Canada/Expedia to get back to them with this.

Today is May 24, Expedia tells my family, that there is no flights available. Again, Expedia submits to Air Canada asking them to look for alternative flights.

3 times Expedia said that they sent the Air Canada via email - which takes 3-5 business days. Still no answer.

Also to mention, during this course, we were on hold with Expedia for several hours during this time, phone calls disconnected. At this point in time, we have had at least a dozen of different agents going through our files. on many occasions, they even told us WE had to call Air Canada ourselves because the airline was not changing anything. We called Air Canada and pleaded with them, they looked up our flights and said there were flights available and told us that Expedia is to call them for the changes. We called them back, they told us they cannot call, they had to send emails. We have spent over 20 hours on the phone with Expedia and all they try to get us to do is cancel. Please help us get our dream vacation back on track. This case needs to be escalated to someone who has the power to do the right thing.

Desired outcome: All we want is to go on the trip we paid for. We put our faith and money in the hands of Expedia, it's time for Expedia to deliver.

Expedia Not refunding a payment taken out of our account when they said it had been cancelled.

I made a booking at a Days Inn on line. I then wanted to change the booking to another hotel, I could not do this so started a "chat" The operative said she had to cancel one and make the new one.

She then phoned me to sort out the payment details, while I was on the phone I double checked that she could cancel the first booking and make the second. She confirmed that everything had been done and was sending me a cancelation booking email and the confirmation of the new booking.

I printed out the new booking and thought nothing more of it. To hold the booking and pay at the hotel a card number was given and they said we could pay on arrival.

On my return two days later and checking the bank account I found that the first hotel had taken the money out of my account.

Contact was made with Expedia straight away. They said that it would be looked into and it would take 72 hrs.

While on a "chat" with them they tried to contact the hotel via phone but no reply. They tried several times no reply. Apparently there was a problem with their phone line.

I was also told that this would go to the cooperate team for an investigation and the phone calls would be listen to to verify my claim.

After 4 days I called back via "chat". Still waiting to hear from the hotel.

Email sent on the day after my first complaint, no reply.

In all I have now telephoned them been in touch with them 10 times each time I have been told that it will be escalated each time I have to go through the whole story again, each time I am told they will call the hotel, each time i say it is not the fault of the hotel but your operative who did not cancel the booking as asked.

Each time I am told that someone will call me back and now here I am a month later and still no refund.

I am normally on the phone for 45 mins min. I have to insist to speak to a supervisor, It has cost me some much time and money and still nothing has been resolved.

To me it is simple their agent did not cancel a booking as requested and now I am the one who is left with the missing money. Also cost of so many telephone calls and frustration.

Desired outcome: To be refund the initial cost and some compensation not a token.

Expedia Vrbo

I have been trying to rebook a reservation since January. The homeowner is not being cooperative after she would not refund the money back in 2020 when covid first hit. She opted to let us use it as a credit for a future booking. The property is owned by Ann and Gary Yu. I have been dealing with Ann. She would not let us book on the dates we asked for even though they were available on the vrbo website. I tried to explain to her that some of our jobs will not allow us to go on vacation at certain times of the year. She refuses to give us our money back and vrbo will not do anything but contact the homeowner, who is not even responding. I am not sure why vrbo think it is okay to treat customers this way. This is very unprofessional and certainly not good business. I no longer trust Ann Yu and am beginning to feel the same way about vrbo since no one there will help either. I am writing you because you are the parent company and hope that someone can help us.

Desired outcome: I would like a credit so we can rent from someone else.
