Experian Stolen Funds

RECUR DEBIT CRD PMT09/23 Experian *CreditRep [protected] CA 434258XXXXXX4242 [protected] ?MCC=5968 01 ...

This transaction keeps appearing on my wife's I's Joint account. We never signed up for any credit monitoring service with this particular company, and the one we did sign up with I cancelled after the first $40 billing. Now this has been going on for months, and is continuously sending us into the negative, not only causing overdraft fee's, but damaging our savings account which is linked. We have cancelled and reordered out debit cards, yet they are still stealing our money. There is no way they should have access to our routing number, short of identity theft. Judging from the numerous complaints on this site, this has gone on for long enough. If there is any help out there, please instruct me on how to decimate this company or companies, so this will not happen to anyone else.

I hope I can help someone with the same problem. After some digging I discovered that the charge is coming from creditreport.com not experian. I just spoke with creditreport.com The reason they are continuing to charge you is because they have a relationship with all of the banks and cc companies so when you change your card or get a new expiration date, etc the banks automatically update them with the new number. To get this fixed call creditreport, com at [protected]. Give them the credit or debit card number that the charge is associated with and they will pull up all charges associated wiith it. They will refund all of the charges to you if in fact the accounts that were opened with your card are not yours which is most likely the case.. Then make sure they block your card and those accounts so no more charges get through. Apparently someone skimmed our debit card number and used it to get three different credit reports for people we do not know. I spoke with a very professional lady named Charity who explained all of this to me in detail. In addition I discovered why there is so much fraud associated with this site. They only ask people to enter the cc number and the exp date, not security. Also they do not make sure the billing address or name matches the card number. In this day and age I find this incredibly irresponsible behavior for a merchant. They obviously are not concerned with fraud and those consumers who are adversely affected by this. Please do the above first and then once your refund goes through cancel that card and start fresh again. I hope this will do the trick for you. Good Luck!

Experian Can't cancel

I wanted to cancel my credit report service that I pay for with my Mastercard each month. I pay $14.95/month. When I called the number that I was given by my credit card company, I could not get through to an agent without a credit report number. I have never used the service and never ordered a report. This is fraud. I can't cancel the service without spending some money first when I already spend money?! How do I get through to cancel? Help!

Experian Charging our account for NO REASON

I was checking my online banking today and noticed 4 charges from Experian, a company I have never used for anything. Are they really just attempting to steal from people without them noticing? We have never used this company, but because they are a credit check company I am sure they have access to these things... did anything come of the other situations? It seemed like the bank was pretty well aware of this happening to people. It really SUCKS!

I have had the same problem. Unauthorized deduction from my checking account/debit card for no reason. My financial institution says the only way to complain is to change the card number. What a hassell. I am not even sure that changing card nubers will even get a refund of my money. Is there anything that can be done to make this criminal?

Experian monthly charge not authorized

I signed up for a free credit report and now I find there is a monthly charge of $14.95 on my credit card (Visa--Amazon) that I did not authorize, or certainly didn't intend to authorize when I accessed a FREE credit report. The two other credit bureaus aren't charging a monthly fee, and when I was going to call to get this monthly charge removed, I found no phone number, just this website listed. They must certainly get a lot of complaints! All other businesses listed on my credit card bill have numbers listed to call about problems, and the very few times I have had to call, there have been people at the other end of the line to answer my concerns. I want Experian to refund all the monthly charges to my credit card. FREE means FREE, NOT monthly charges for a service I neither want nor need!

EXPERIAN YOU GIVE CREDIT REPORTS A BAD NAME. BAD WAY TO MAKE MONEY OFF OF SENIOR CITIZEN ON DISABILITY.

DO NOT USE EXPERIAN.COM to order your credit report! I paid the $19.00 for my credit report just because I did not want to get some sort of monthly fee. $100.00 later, and I am finally not paying for my credit report! What a joke! I read the fine print, and I promise it was NOT THERE! Which is why I paid the more money for my credit report! what a SCAM!

This is such a crock! There was no service provided. We were trying to find a mortgage and had to pull our credit reports. We had to pay for each of them. It's not worth a penny much less $14.95 a month. It's been on our account for over a year, neither of us recall signing up for this "service" and after speaking to two different customer service reps to cancel it, it's still showing up. I've sent my complaint to the better business bureau and my bank. BTW, the bank was the only way I could get any information on this charge.

I had an unauthorized charge from the same company and I called [protected] to cancel the service. It took a couple minutes, I spoke to a real person, and I was not charged again. I did not try to get back the $14.95 I was charged. It seems like more of a hassle than it's worth. You have to request a fraud request form and prove your bank won't cover the charges, which seems ridiculous.

Experian Bogus Charges

I got my free credit report in March 2011 and decided to go ahead get a membership with Experian for 14.95/month. The membership allows you to see your credit score, get notification of any changes or activity, etc. After a couple of months, I decided that I no longer wanted to do the membership anymore. At this point, I had been charged one charge in late March, one in late April, and one in late May (all 14.95 each). I called at the beginning of June to cancel my membership. The lady REALLY did not want me to cancel, and kept giving me horror stories about peoples' credit scores taking dives without them knowing and identity theft and yada yada yada. I finally convinced her that I really did want to cancel and was told that I would have no further charges on my account. I also received an email from them stating the same thing. Imagine my surprise when I check my bank statement in late June to make sure they didn't charge me again only to find not one.. but TWO charges at 14.95 each on the same day! I called Experian, and they said that the account in my name was indeed canceled but that there were two other memberships that had been opened on my debit card that were not in my name. They said that they could not tell me the full names, only the first letter of the first and last name, which I didn't recognize. I told them that I would NOT pay for this and that it sure was suspicious how everything was fine while I was paying for my membership with them in March, April, and May and the charges they charged for those months where exactly what they were supposed to be, but as soon as I cancel, all of a sudden there are two new memberships opened up on my card in other people’s names. Really Experian?! Talk about shady. Wow. I was honestly astounded. They said they would cancel the two memberships that had been opened on my card and would credit me back for two months. They said it would take up to ten business days to show up in my account. We'll see if they actually credit my account back. I have a feeling I may have to end up canceling my debit card if the charges keep showing up like this. DO NOT GIVE EXPERIAN YOUR CREDIT/DEBIT CARD NUMBER... EVER... FOR ANY REASON... EVER. Trust me.

Experian FRAUDULENT TAKING OF MONEY FROM ACCOUNT

I joined their membership and was required to give details of my debit card for the direct debit mandate for the fee. When I tried to resign my membership and cancel the direct debit my bank told me that it has been treated as a card payment and not a direct debit. They ignore my numerous emails to stop taking my money and continue to withdraw money from my account without my agreement. Even when I changed my card they continue to withdraw money using my new card number I did not give to them.

I emailed EXPERIAN (CREDIT EXPERT) to cancel my membership and stop payment of fee. They ignored my numerous emails and continue to use my card details to take money from my account against my wish. My bank says they cannot stop them because they are using my card details which I voluntarily gave to them.

Experian Charged for report not ordered/Signed me up for automatic billing

On 5/23/2011, I ordered a Experian credit report for $14.95 and they automatically stored my credit card information which I wasn't aware of, in effort of finding my way through printing the report I ordered, I clicked on a button and it gave me a different report that I hadn't ordered and charged me $39.95 in addition to the $14.95 that I was already charged. During this process I was never prompted with any message that said I was going to be charged $39.95 for another report. Now when I call the customer service, they are eager to return $14.95 but not the $39.95. Even after I insisted that I ordered the $14.95 report which I am willing to pay, they said they cannot do anything about the $39.95 charge even though I have not requested that report at all. Also, when I tried to find on my profile where they stored my credit card information to fraudulently charge me, I found that they have also signed me up for automatic monthly billing and there was no provision to remove the credit card information or cancel the automatic billing. On the bottom of that page, in fine print, they have " for any reason you are not satisfied, you can call us to discontinue your membership and stop the monthly billing. However, you will not be eligible for a prorated refund of any portion of your current month's paid membership fee. To cancel, please contact Customer Care at [protected]. ". I was never asked to be signed for this either.

Experian Useless phone numner

The phone number for Experian leads to an IVR. Press one if your call is about denied credit based upon an Experian report, press two if something else. I pressed two, and got silence. After a while I called and tried again - silence. So, I tried pressing one, and got deeper into an IVR, hitting the request for a representative. Silence.
I figured they were trying to get me to give up, and did not have hold music. I waited in silence for 20+ minutes, and gave up. The other number that was listed for them goes to a company that cleans up credit reports for a fee.
Unless you go via snail mail, good luck reaching anyone, and good luck getting anything done. I have been trying for more than 10 years to get data from ID theft off my record, and it is still there!

Experian Direct Charge to Credit Card

Just like others, after requesting a non-annual report I kept getting charged $14.95 a month. Charges are presently under dispute through credit card company, but I took the time to file an FTC complaint. If more people would do this, the firm would be fined just like Verizon Wireless got zapped millions for accessing the web.

Experian Refusal to respond to request for correction

On [protected] I took my vehicle to Sacramento to attempt to sell it to CarMax (Roseville) and Nissan on AutoRow in Sacramento. During the review of CarMax's cash offer they advised me AutoCheck (a part of Experian) had listed
2 (two) accidents reported for my vehicles VIN. I advised them I had only 1 (one) accident, which was correctly dated on their report as [protected]. Autocheck has NO detail for any accident, merely reports the date. The second INCORRECTLY reported accident on my auto's VIN was reported for 11-21-2007. Again, no details for said reported accident...which never happened. When I advised CarMax that at NO time was my vehicle in a second accident of the reported date, nor was it vandalized on any date, they told me they had to stand with the Autocheck report.
My offered cash buyout for my vehicle was substantially lower due to the Autocheck report.

The same day I went to Nissan In Sacramento, and after they assessed my vehicle they made a cash offer, which was substantially higher than CarMax offer. I accepted, and the manager soon came back to my husband and myself and informed us they had to take back their offer, as they could not sell a vehicle with two accidents. I again explained the Autocheck report was incorrect as to the second reported accident, and they said they too must stand with the reported accident. They advised I contact Autocheck for the correction, and possibly DMV .

I immediately contacted Autocheck with all the details, my VIN number, the incorrect date for their erroneous accident and a request for a correction. That first email was on September 20, 2010. The same day I went to DVM and stood for 2 hours to find out that DMV has NO reported accident for their purported accident date of 11/21/2007 for either my CSDL or my husbands CSDL as DMV do not keep records per VIN number, just drivers license numbers. They did have record of my actual accident on [protected]. I then went to Modesto Police Department, whom would have record of any accident or vandalism on my vehicle. They researched my vehicle VIN, my vehicle license plate and my drivers license number and NO accident or vandalism was ever reported on my vehicle EXCEPT the real one on [protected].

With this new proof from DMV and Modesto Police Department I again emailed Autocheck on [protected]. I had yet to receive any response from them but again informed them of the error on their report, my proof I'd gotten and again asked for a correction on their report as it kept me from selling my vehicle.

I further decided to check to see if CarFAX has the same information. I emailed them on [protected] and on [protected] CarFax responded to my request and sent me a copy of their report on my vehicle VIN and they have NO erroneous accident reported for the date of 11-21-2007.

With the new CarFax information, I again email Autocheck (having NEVER received a response to any of my emails) and again stated the facts in detail, requested a response and a correction of their MIS information.

No response. On October 4, 2010 I went to Experian website and emailed thru that site to customer service explaining my dilemma and my need for the correction in order to sell my vehicle. Believe it or not, that email came back with the same exact AUTO REPLY as all the other emails to Autocheck. I have never received a response to any of my 4 emails to them. CarFax responded within 18hours. AUTOCHECK IS NOT HONORABLE IN THEIR BUSINESS PRACTICES...AND DO NOT CARE ABOUT HOW ADVERSELY THIER REPORTS AFFECT PEOPLE. I plan on filing complaints with BBB and Federal Trade Commission. This is just wrong.

Experian Autocheck is notoriously inaccurate and hilariously inept when it comes to customer service. Their online chat function on their website has been inoperable for a long time and the help/support phone line has been disconnected. They seem to be a company running on fumes i.e. they have contracts with ebay and others and have determined that interfacing with customers is not their responsibility. Horrible company.

Experian charges

When you order your $1 Credit Report & Score, you will begin your 7-day trial membership in Triple Advantage®. If you don’t cancel your membership** within the 7-day trial period, you will be billed $14.95 for each month that you continue your membership. You may cancel your trial membership anytime within the trial period without charge. I forgot to read the fine print stating you will be billed $14.95 each month that you continue your membership. After the first billing statement I sent a request to discontinue my so call membership. To no avail they still charge me for another $14.95 this month and have yet to respond to my initial and second request to discontinue service. If they are supposedly there to insure fraud charges to your credit card are not done. Why are they still charging me for something I ask to discontinue.

Since October of last year I have been receiving fraudulent charges from Experian.com at least once or twice a month, I have never visited their site, nor ordered a credit report but I continue to get charges from them at least once or twice a month! Every time I call they just say oh this happens all the time, I will shut down the account and refund your money. I have done this so many times now I now have Experian on speed dial. I have changed both my debit card and credit card numbers but some how the charges keep coming and I never get any other fraudulent charges from any other company, just Experian. The most resent just happened today I just receive another two charges.

I ordered autocheck.com's unlimited reports plus titleguard product. Afer checking some vin numbers, the website said my account needed to be verified by staff before I could continue. I then had to fill out a webform of the problem. You get an automated email that you will get a response within 48 hours. It has now been 3 weeks and I filled out the webform 2 different times. There also is no number to call support. Be careful if you try this product.

I just solved this problem. call [protected], press 5 to talk to their real person. they can help you un-block your account. Got this number from google, I have to agree they are suck since they do have a limit on UNLIMITED account, and we have to call them ourselves to un-block this. But what can we do, this is the only unlimited VIN check site since carfax only offers 5 times.

I agree with this complaint ...I also faced the same experience. Its disgusting that they call it "Unlimited" but somewhere in fineprint they mention that one can generate only 5 reports. Its Fraudulent practice.

The same like above. Such a big company and cheats. Be aware of it and use carfax if it's possible.

I had the same problem with AutoCheck. They deceitfully promise you unlimited checks and then after you reached what the deem to be the limit they disconnect your service.

same as the previous complaint. I purchased the "unlimited" reports for 45 bucks. After 50 or so reports, the site disabled my user ID. it turns out that eventhough the advertisement states as "unlimited", it really is limited to 50 reports.

this the error

"Your Account Has Been Temporarily Disabled! Our records indicate that you have run the maximum number of vehicle history reports allowed without verification per our terms of service."

Note that it states that "without verification".

Tried writing to customer support and no reply for 4 emails. I gave my cell number for them to call and verify, and there is no reply or any contact whatsoever.
I was in the middle of searching car and the account was disabled.

This really is cheating. there is no contact number to call autocheck, no replies for emails and no support whatsoever.

Beware of autocheck!

Experian false charges

I was charged for servies that I was not given. I called them and told them I did not sign up for anything and they would not remove the charges. It's absurd and a fraud.

Experian Credit reporting agency signed me up automatically when I downloaded my credit report.
The charge was suppose to be $1.95 and they charged me $14.95 I contacted them
and my bank and Experian refused to cancel and refund and my bank has placed
the charge in dispute. Experian says, "That I signed up for credit
monitoring" and I disagree. I did not sign up for their service I ONLY
wanted a credit report.

Experian Unauthorized Charges

I, too was just asking why I was getting sent emails to my "Junk File" stating that my credit score was being jeopardized and I wanted Experian to check to see if everything was o.k. The next thing I know is that my checking account is being charged $14.95. I was under the assumption that it was a one-time charge to check out this information. Now, I see that this is a monthly fee. This is becoming a new way for companies to get extra money from people. You subscribe or buy one thing, and you get charged for additional things not mentioned.

When I went on-line to get a "free" credit report, I was signed up for credit monitoring service and billed $15.88 on my credit card. After research, I discovered you can call [protected] to cancel.

These 3 credit report companies have absolutly are not reporting the right people or debts owed by someone else, a credit card was opened in the same name as mine and it isnt me but i can not get them to remove it from my credit, also my son and daughter in-law bought a mobile home in 2000 and it was put on property that i coowned with my son i sighned a paper stateing that i released the property they used as collateral if they failed to pay, so they didnt pay for it and they tried to make me pay for it and i quickly pointed out to mortgage company that i didnt co-sighn, i just released the property they stopped trying to bill me, but they put it on my credit report the company is vanderbilt, these credit reporting agencies need to look at what they are doing to inocent people

Experian Unethical business practice

I recently opened an account with the three credit bureaus so that I may view my credit reports online. The service was advertised as “free” for all three – and indeed it was for TransUnion and Equifax. However, while opening the account for Experian, a screen made it impossible to proceed without providing a credit card number. The screen assured me that my credit card would not be charged and that the information was needed for verification purposes only. Several days later, I see that Experian has charged $14.95 to my credit card.

After speaking to a representative of ConsumerInfo.com (an Experian company), today, I learned there was “small print” that informed me that $14.95 would be charged if I did not cancel within nine days.

Let me first say, if there was information telling me of this paid membership, I did not see it. The “small print” was evidently not as prominently placed on the page as the request for credit card information. Had it been, I never would have proceeded with this transaction. And if it was not the intention of Experian to surreptitiously and unethically dupe consumers into signing up for this “paid” monthly membership, it would have allowed consumers to complete the “free” registration process before prompting them to join a paid monthly membership. Consequently, today I learned that if the membership was not cancelled within nine (9) days of “joining”, a refund or credit would not be made to my credit card. What a travesty!

These, and other unethical business practices, are exactly what consumers are trying to guard themselves against. And here is one of the top three credit bureaus endorsing and engaging in some of the same despicable and reprehensible practices out there. I am insulted and incensed that Experian has taken this fraudulent route of deception, and I again, request a refund of my money for this incorrigible act.

Experian MY SISTER CHRISTINA&S CREDIT HISTORY ON MY CREDIT HISTORY

MY COMPLAINT IS WHY IS MY SISTER'S CREDIT (EXTREMELY BAD CREDIT AT THAT) ON MY CREDIT REPORT THEREFORE MAKING MY CREDIT SCORE EVEN WORSE THAN IT WOULD BE ? WE ARE CLEARLY TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE AND HER SSN# AND NAME IS ON MY CREDIT REPORT. HER NAME IS CHRISTINA FRANCIS, AND I AM TINA FRANCIS WE ARE A YEAR APPART AND I LIKE TO THINK IM WAY MORE RESPONSABLE THAN I USED TO BE, I KNOW THAT I AM. THE CREDIT BUREAU CALLES IT A MIXED FILE, SO WHEN WILL IT BE UN-MIXED?, AND PLEASE SEPARATE HER INCOMMING BAD CREDIT FROM MY CREDIT.I AM IN THE OBVIOUS PROCESS OF CLEARING UP MY SERIOUSLY POOR CREDIT SCORE. PLEASE REPLY.
