Food Basics review: MOI card

I saw in your last weeks flyer that you were discounting Schneider's bacon $2 using the MOI card. I did not have a card so I went to the customer service desk and asked for one and inquired if I would be able to use it to purchase the bacon at a discount. This was on Sunday (till #2) at 2pm.
The cashier said she would activate it when I came up with the purchase so I assumed I would get the discount at that time. When my wife and I came up to the same register with our purchases, I noticed the bacon was not discounted and asked to activate my card as previously discussed.
The cashier said it would not count for this purchase and we would have to wait for an activation code. This is contrary to our previous discussion.
We were annoyed that your practice baits its customers with a discount that is not immediately realized and I can only assume you expect customers to remain passive and accept the situation.
My wife and I refused to complete our grocery transaction ($78) and left the store with no interest in returning. Your competitors provide the same price without a need to have a prioritized card for a discount and we will patronize those stores in the future.
Shame on you for this deceptive marketing scheme!
