I spend over 5000.00 $ Five Thousand Dollars a year at the Food Basics store in Orleans. Today I was short changed $ 2.10 at the cash. This never happens, and I tried to fix the issue, by driving back to the store. I had to wait 15 minutes before I was able to address the issue with Management. After which they told me they had given me the correct change...

On the morning of Friday November 20th I witnessed a cashier at customer service sniffling and coughing while serving me, she appeared to be sick but yet she was still working. I felt as though my safety was not prioritized at that moment because an ill looking lady was touching my food, what if she had COVID-19! She should have been sent home and not at...

I am really disappointed in Food Basics and how they are NOT handling the proper procedures during this pandemic, I remember back in April someone was walking around cleaning everything, sometimes there was more than one person, now there is no one walking around cleaning I haven't seen anyone cleaning surfaces or door handles for a couple months now and...

The Port Colborne Food Basic has staff stalking shelves with their masks not on their face properly. Saw two while shopping with the mask covering the mouth but had the nose exposed. Also saw a staff member with no mask at all. With Covid19 still active and masks now mandatory and as a shopper at the food basics it appalls me that staff would be so careless

I went into the food basics on Silvercreek to get a 10 lb bag of onions that were advertised for 1.88 on the app. When I went to pay for it the cashier said that would be $4 and change. I said they are on sale for 1.88 and showed her my phone. She checked her flyer and told me that was not her store flyer. I asked how would I know if it was that store...

I purchased an LCBO Gift Card from Food Basics for Christmas for my Dad when he went to make a purchase he was informed there was nothing on it. It was for $50.00 it was activated by the cashier. I went back with my receipt for a refund the manager refused to do anything about it. Their customer care did an investigation and said the card had in fact been...

My 17 year old son was rollerblading home from work and stopped in to Food Basics which he had done before. He was going slowly in the store to get one thing and check out. He was approached by the manager, Jeff, who indicated no rollerblading. He said take them off or leave. He put back the item and waited for me in the entrance where he was yelled at by...

I was in line at a food basics store at 2425 truscott. I was first in line. A cashier opened up her checkout and called the guy standing behind me to her cash desk. What happened to first come, first served??? Please, teach your inexperienced cashiers that whoever is first in line, should be the first served. We call that fairness.

Good Day,
I Went to the foodbasics store located at 500 Laurier Ave, Milton, ON L9T 4R3 - on Sunday afternoon 10/27/2019 - wanted to purchase flatbreads for lunch - after i purchased it and went home - finding mold on the back of it - had to go back to the store to speak to the manager there in duty - being so careless not even apologizing - his words "ok do you want a refund then" i had to come back on a Sunday to only find that they actually did not have anymore of it - very disappointed and will never come back . not sure what kind of customer service this is? not even trying to apologize - offering me anything that i had to come back.
Cashier at customer service desk.
The cashier was very abrupt, tossing our groceries down the conveyer belt, had a totally angry look on her face, while dealing with the elder customer, and with a person who came up to her and asked for change, she told her to wait a min, this was at the customer service desk, the person that asked for change apologized to cashier and to us, as she felt she...

Milk 3.25%
We bought milk from the food basics store at Bayview and John in Thornhill, we brought it home my daughters had a cup and got sick(diarrhea) then they complained about the taste of it and I tried it and it was bad, brought it to store to exchange it on September 24th at 9pm. Store manager, Graig was so rude didn't provide his last name, wasn't willing to help and said he needed the receipt that obviously we didn't know we had to keep it as we didn't know store would sell bad milk to us. I'm very upset as my girls got sick and store staff was rude and didn't do anything about the bad product they sold me.
We are a family of 5 and we spend 800-1000 dollars easily every month from the store but we will not even enter the store from now on because of the behaviour of the store manager at the time whose name is Graig who has zero customer service skill and I don't know how he is working in the field. I will bring this up to the highest level because the health of my children is important to me.
Grocery carts
The carts have been "modified" with a little red breaking device which proved to be extremely frustrating and annoying.
I got the cart to my car but literally could not move it to get it out of the way or put it in the cart coral. Independent is a cross the street. Giant tiger a min away. Smiths a high end grocery store 2 mins away. All. Of which I shop for specific reasons..
Get rid of those break devices
The employees are frustrated with ho's decisions to arbitrarily implement them.
I will and do purchase fewer items that I can carry and go to a store where their carts are not a pain in the [censored].

Had to return to Food Basics once we discovered that we forgot the bleach worth $2.49 cents at the counter, this was aproximately 45 minutes later, upon arrival the bleach was still there, girl cashier and a man acting as store manager refused to give me my bleach unless i drive back home to retrieve reciept from my girl friend, My girl friend was in a hurry and never was given a reciept by the cashier. My family averagely spends well over $700. a month at this store location. We will not be supporting this store anymore, over $2.49 cents, I am a middle aged man, with lots of health concerns, I save my energy for the company I run, the rest of the energy being in physical pain is not going to be wasted chasing $2.49 cents, it;s the principle of the matter that counts, this is how your staff shows me how much my business is appreciated, imagine $2.49 cents verses a mittion dollars worth of bad advertising on Google and loosing my Business for a lifetime. This is lack of common sence on your acting store managers part. [protected] Donald Lafrance feel free to call me anytime, leave a message with my secretary.
When you act like a child and have the grammar and spelling skills of second grader you have no right calling grown women girls. Even a child would know that to prove that you bought the bleach that you would need proof. It is a shame that a small child is smarter than you, but still you call grown women girls. Looks like your girlfriend(one word) was in the wrong. First she left the bleach behind, then she did not have the receipt. Do you really think that your measly $700 a month is going to put them out of business? What about your own principles and owning up to the fact that you are wrong. You lack common sense little boy.
Cashier/supervisor
There is a girl working for your company her name is Sarah Meehan and I was in shopping there I gave her a$100.00 bill my order can to $40.00 dollars and she did not give me thr right change back. When I told her she did not give me the right change she told me to leave the store not not come and she told me to [censored] off you [censored]. You had better do something about her because I will go to human rights.
Yours truly

Discriminatory harassment
July 11, 2019 afternoon Gerrard Square Mall Food Basics, a plain cloth female without her ID card approached my wife and accused her for shoplifting. An employee in his uniform threatened to assault me
I was driving on wellington in guelph ontario directly in front of mr.sub. This guy in a nissan ultima abruptly pulls out in front of me. Causing me to jam my brakes. I shook my head ofcourse. Then he starts threatening me as he gets out of his car in his food basics uniform. Pretty sure a managers uniform. He has red hair, and a mustache he tapers with wax. You cant miss him. In front of my children demanding i get out and fight him. Calling me a hillbilly and a [censored]in loser. I cant believe foodbasics has someone like this working for them. No respect for others and a complete foul mouth in front of my children. Hes lucky they were here because normally I'd have engaged him. Ignorant ppl need to ne put in their place. As food basics should be finding out who this individual is snd firing him.
