My promotional purchase (fees for dental service) was to become due on June 6/11/06. On 5/14/06 I had my credit card send an electronic payment for the entire principle of the loan. I have the confirmation number of this transaction. For some unknown reason, which GE Money Bank has refused to explain, this payment was returned to my credit card. Immediately upon the notice of its return, I sent a letter to them asking for the reason for the return of the electronic payment. I have the letter from my credit card company to substantiate this rejection. I then replied with two payments within the specified time. I was overseas at the time, and although I immediately made payment, GE Money Bank did not credit the payments to my account until June 17, 2006. Of course, this made the payment APPEAR to be delinquent. Since then, I have sent at least 9 letters, including documentation, called their toll free number numerous times. Each time I called I was told to put my complaint in writing. Each written response was followed with a form letter asking me to phone their toll free number. One representative suggested that I might FAX the information. I did this TWICE and never received the courtesy of a reply. Meanwhile, the account has been referred to a collection agency and finally to an attorney. The total amount GE claims that I now owe in finance charges and late fees is $2,126.76 ALL IN INTEREST and LATE FEES. Although the federal and state consumer regulations state that the creditor must answer written complaints within a specified time, this has yet to be done.

I received a damaged stove and they had to take it back...I had no stove so I had to go to another store which had one in stock (you did not) ...that would be Lowes...I could not go without a stove for a week so we got one from Lowes... I was on hold for more than 45 minutes to cancel the order...Never got thru and will have to try again on Monday...This was a Saturday... I can not believe you cannot hire enough people to keep your customers happy...

Happy Lowes Customer

For almost a year now, I have been getting harassing telephone calls, evey 2 hours 7 days a week from GE MoneyBank. This is ridiculous.

First of all they made the error by taking a payment off my account which was supposed to be credited to my husbands account. Supposedly they corrected this, but they never did.

Now they are adding fees you wouldn't believe, over 20% interest and threatening me.

I am so sick of this outfit I could vomit. They should not be allowed to do the unorthodox things that they do, but, so far no one seems to be able to stop them or care enough to do anything about it.

Isn't there some "watchdog" to monitor lenders of this type or are we all just "victims" of their greed.

They are obnoxious, harrassing and threatening. I refuse to make any payment to them. I lost my job and couldn't pay my GAP card. Now when I can start making payments, I refuse to just start sending mystery amounts of money over the phone. They will not send anything in writing, which is one of my requirements. I'd rather this be on my credit than pay them. Don't tell them anything, they try to find out where you work and your ss#. DON"T do it.

I have had a Chevron gas card since 1992. I have never been late with a payment in all these years until GE Credit Bank got involved. My wife and I were going on an extended vacation so I knew which bills would become due while we were away. I went online to Chevron/Texaco's site to set up an auto payment. This was to be done through my bank checking account. I evidently entered a couple of of numbers wrong so when (what I thought was Chevron/Texaco) the payment request was presented to my bank it was rejected. All the while we were away we checked our e-mail daily. Since Chevron/Texaco had my e-mail address I was under the assumption that they would notify me by e-mail of the problem. I didn't even know GE Credit Bank was involved with Chevron. When we returned there was a letter from GE Credit Bank in our mail. I thought it was a solicitation for a credit card or just junk mail so I threw it out. Big mistake. It was a demand for payment. Thinking nothing was wrong I went to buy gas at a Chevron station using my credit card. The card was rejected. I went inside and the clerk tried to swipe the card but told me it was denied. I called Chevron and they told me of a past due amount. I got the total due and made an e-payment for the whole amount. I thought things were ok. Wrong again. Another letter from GE demanding payment. I got this new problem resolved with Chevron. Went to get gas last week and was denied. I called Chevron again and got a balance due which I paid immediately. This was on a Friday so the payment wouldn't be received by Chevron until Monday. The following day I received a call from GE credit demanding payment in full for an amount more than was quoted the day before. I told the lady from GE credit about the payment I made. She demanded the full amount regardless of the fact that I had paid the day before. I hung up on her. Yesterday I received a letter from GE stating that my Chevron card had been cancelled. I also received a paper bill from Chevron showing the amount due so I paid electronically, called Chevron, spoke to a customer service rep and asked her if my card was cancelled and she said yes but they would gladly re-instate it. I said "no thanks". 18 years of a good working relationship down the drain. All I can say about this experience is "if ignorance is bliss then everybody who works for GE Credit Bank are the happiest sob's walking the face of the earth.

I bought this washing machine about 6 months ago and had problems with it from day 1. I had a noise when washing tub was agitating but I thought it was loaded unevenly or too full but it was then obvious it was none of those things. The noise was a grinding sound and now after 6 months the tub assembly doesn't agitate at all. I would never recommend this machine to anyone and it's a disgrace that after 6 months there is already a problem that numerous other people have experienced so it is obviously a flaw in this product. Keep up the good work G.E. this is the last time I will waste my money on something you've made.

Well, I wish I had came here before opening an account with this company. It begin when I had set up auto pay, when my payment failed to come through the bank I checked my account and found out auto pay magically was turned off which of course made my first payment late. Because they claim I was late, I was slapped with a 39.98 late fee and a returned check fee of 39.98. I'm not quite sure how they can can get away with this.
I called to talk with customer survive, WOW! they must be the most unhappy people out there, this lady had the worst attitude.
They wont talk about what happened and try to help you understand why. I have never been treated so crappy when speaking to customer service. I asked this lady how much my payment was, she told me "I cant tell you", "it's a different department", What? she had my account pulled up looking at it! Long story short I ended up paying a 15$ over the phone payment charge.
I ask her why was auto pay turned off?, her answer was I was one digit off on routing #. I can understand my making that mistake, but they could have contacted me about the issue, the lady says "we sent you a letter . Of course I never recieved one.

Ok I set auto pay up again, which as most of you know can take up to 30 days to activate. I asked them if auto pay was going to take out my payment or if I needed to go ahead and make the payment over the phone, their answer wasit wouldn't come out till next month. The day after paying over the phone, auto pay took out 2 payments, and charged me two over the phone payments of 15$ each. In 2 days I ended up paying 149.00, 160.00, 160.00, 15.00, 15.00.
I called my bank the next morning, took out a loan and paid this company off, closed account. Lets just hope I dont hear from them again. I will take the time to post this story anywhere I can to prevent you all from having the headaches I have from this company!

I was never sent a statement so by the time i realize it, i was in collections and my amount was over $400, then i lost my 6 months no-finance charge, and now they refuse to get it back for me because "it was my responsibility to question their bad sense of communications" with their customers. I don't have time to sit on my ### and wonder where the ### my statement is. It is their responsibility to get me my bill to me, and if they keep getting returned mail, why the hell didn't someone call? they got my mail to me the first time with an intro letter. I say this is FRAUD. they're trying to get me to pay more.

I can't believe all that I am reading here online regarding GEMB complaints...OMG! I too am a victim it seems. I admit that I fell behind on a balance due, finally I received a call with an offer to pay at least 3/4 of the remaining balance, which was a fabulous offer at the time because I wasn't running away from paying either. so I agreed. The rep and I created a scheudle of 5 payments the first one being the smallest fee and mailed in directly in order to have the offer accepted and the remaining 4 payments were to be withdrawn from my checking account...GREAT! All withing 3 months period. I also was told at the same time that if I'm unable to adhere to the scheduled dates I can call in to make the changes, I had to do this twice, had no problem, they indeed withdrawn the money. Dealing with a ery busy and hectic lifestyle lately, I didn't write down the last payment date, so after making the 4th payment I called in to GEMB and they told me that there are no more scheduled payments left!...I couldn't believe this, I told the rep that there should be one more, but nothing as far as she can see and I wasn't able to find the letter that was mailed to me witht he scheduled payments. So a week or so went by and now I'm getting a text indicating that I missed my monthly payment of $15 and to make the payment as soon as possible...huh? I immmediately called and was told that the arrangement that I had was broken because I didn't "call in " the last payment, now I'm back to oweing the $1700.00, $1, 000 in overlimit fees and late fees! I told them that I had scheduled withdrawls from my checking account and all have been withdrawn except for the last one, and now they're saying that I'm suppose to call it in because that's how it's noted in their computer. They're practically yelling at me and I'm almost having an anxiety attack and in tears!...LITERALLY...I went on the computer to locate the evidence and lo and behold found the memoes that they'd sent me to indicate that they are withdrawing X amount on X day from my checking acc't but here's the deal...on the letter it says that "This letter is to remind you of a transaction, that you verbally authorized by telephne, to make a payment on the account listed above. to make this payment will draw fund from your checking account. And above it's list the Payment Amount, the next line it list "Pay By Phone Date': 2/5/10 and a four digit number the Payment Drawn on: NOW, why does it say "Pay By Phone" when all along it has been checking withdrawls, as stated in the same memo!...

This is the irony and their HUGE ARGUMENT with me and two "Supervisor"s" and two representatives, I must admit the first Supervisor seemed very confused and saw exactly what I saw but couldn't do anything to help me, so she had to transfer me to someone who can...why did she did this, I was in the worst debates of my ENTIRE LIFE...i was left holding the phone with noone else on the other line, my face soaked in tears with blood shot red eyes...No one cared, there was absoloutely any remorse or concern for the individual who adhering to the rules and then they decide not to withdraw the last payment and turn it around and say that I was to call it in! And told me to send it in writing to El Paso, Texas, which i did via Certified Mail March 22, 1010 and til this day have not to hear from them. how does one deal with them...any positive recoveries out there!? virgozg@aol.com

I applied for one of these cards but thank goodness I did a lot of research about the use of it before I put anything on my account. I found out from one of the dentist offices that with the card for some providers you can not use the card with your insurance card, that dental work have to be over $500 to use the card and get this one...if you choose a plan to pay off the amount within 3, 6, 12 or 18 months you will have to pay it off in full within that month you choose to get no interest added. However, if you do not pay off your account within the plan you choose after 18 months all 18 months of interests will be added to your account at once at the end of your plan. Mind you if in default the interest rate is at 30%. Imagine 30% of interest for 18 months all tacked on to your account balance at one time.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! GLAD MY RESEARCH PAID OFF. I WILL BE CUTTING UP MY ACCOUNT BEFORE I USE IT.

I just got my first bill from GE Money Bank. I sent the payment in actullay doubled the payment so I could pay it off faster. Then this month I get a 39.99 late fee for the very first transaction in the loan. I called the person on other end said I should be able to tell him when I got the bill in the mail. I asked if he could tell me when it was sent if true it took the US Gov 3 weeks for the bill to get here leaving me 1 day to pay. SORRY I ever did buisness with them. I tried to participate in the online survey but once I was not satisfied with the service I was no longer allowed to participate I was cut off. Guess if you always get happy people in your survey you always look good. They should be investigated by KY AG Office for preditory lending! But I will pay my loan and try not to do buisness with them again. I hope all who read this check this group out before you buy from your favorite buisness they will not be able to help you with this bunch. Could ruin your opinion of the buisness you had liked.

I have never been so UPSET about the way I was treated when I talked to reps at CARE CREDIT about a promotion being terminated. I was told that my promotion was terminated because of being late 3 times. I have been making payments online for a good two years and always pay on or before the due date. Because of the time difference, I guess two times my payments were "late" The last time I was charged for a late fee, I contacted a rep from CARE CREDIT and she said I was correct, that I was not late, and therefore I was refunded the Late Fee on my next statement, but my promotion was terminated and almost $1, 000 finance charge was added. After calling and getting a very rude rep, I asked to speak to a supervisor, who was just as rude to me, and didn't care what I had to say about the latest late fee and that was an incorrect charge. She was so rude I couldn't keep my composure...and swore that I would spread the word for consumers to never use CARE CREDIT BECAUSE THEY DO NOT CARE!

I am reading the complaints that I have found and am shocked that there are so many and all are similar. I too had a CareCredit card for some dental work that I had done and set it up for a monthly automatic payment out of my checking account. GE never ever told me that they had variable payment dates, so unbeknownst to me they were charging me a late charge of $29.99 a month and then zapped me with a huge finance charge of $361. As too with all of you their customer care people basically told me it was my fault and refused to credit the money to me.

I have written their general headquarters and told them that their activities are illegal, but have not heard back from them. This is horrible.

I am reading all these stories and to have had issues with Money Bank. About 2 years ago I purchased a Matress for $1, 700 from matress firm. There lender is GEMB. I was scheduled to pay off account in may of 2010. In march of 2010 I had a balance of labout $50.00 due. My statement said that the minimum due was $15.00, so I went ahead and paid $25.00. The next month I did the same (april I paid 25.00). I was unaware that i was assesed a 39.00 late fee, from march. So by may they said my new balance was now 60+ dollars. They reported me to the credit bureus as 30 days past due and they dropped my credit score from 667 t0 603. A total of 64 points for a $45.00. I tried to contact GEMB many times approxamitely 21 times and spoke to many representatives. I could not understand the representatives because of their heavy Indian accent. None of the representatives spoke good enough English to actually understand me.I expalined my situtaion to them many times, and not one representative could help me, they would not deviate from the computer SCRIPT that was placed in front of them. They were very rude and very unsympathetic. I finally got a person who helped me get a fax number to the headquaters in el paso texas. I faxed in my information and my story and still have not been able to get anyone to help me.
I recently went back to matress firm to try and get there support but they no longer deal with GE MONEY BECUASE THEY HAVE HAD MANY COMPLAINTS ON GE MONEY.
Bottom line is that I was trying to get in a house and GE money really screwed me over, I had to have a 620 on my FICA score and because of them and their inconsistencies I have been having trouble getting into my house. I think Outsourcing labor to different countried should be illegal because of these types of issues. I hope one day that GE money messes with the wrong person and this person takes them to the bank. I am waiting for the day that GE money goes bankrupt!

I'm with Ge Money through Care Credit and I have had them for about a year, making all my payments ON TIME and online. My checking account that I was paying by was saved and all I would do is click the "pay" button. A few months ago (they didn't even try to inform me or anything) I got onto my account and noticed that it said I hadn't made a payment. Right away I called to take care of it. The guy said that the checking account number was wrong? But that he would take care of the late fee. I "fixed" it online and then a month later notice my minimum payment went sky high. I called again to ask what had happened. I think it's set in India because no one can understand a damn word I say, but when I asked why my minimum payment was so high she said they raised my APR to 29.9%. I asked her why and she said "everyone's was raised to that". Now I'd like to know if that's true if they jacked up everyone's APR or just mine. And when I read the fine print on my account it said if there were any late payments that that is what it would be raised to. I am so irritated because I have never been late and I think they are screwing me over and I have no proof because it was all electronic. Can anyone help me on what to do? :(

I received my surgery in May 2009 and immediately started making payments to GEMoney in June 09. My first payment wasn't due until 14 Jul 09. I was always one month ahead making payment in access of $1500 and sometimes twice a month. I paid off my debt 7 months before it was due and now Im being charged a late fee over $1600! I've written the company and spoke to numerous representatives (when I finally got thru). I REFUSE to pay the finance charges and now they are making additional charges to my account saying that a couple of payments didn't go thru due to my bank. I called my bank and everything is fine. I have been losing sleep over this and noone is helping me. I wrote the President of the company and still haven't received a reponse. I am a very patient person until NOW. I will NEVER work with these people again and I guess I have to leave the rest in a lawyers hands because I AM PAYING! They are a rip-off!

I charged a large furniture payment with no interest payments for one year. During my first year of payments, I had set up automatic payment through my online bank billing account. Unfortunately, each payment being made arrived on the day after the due date since the payment was being sent via check. I didn''t realize this for about 1 year when I got a notice that my interest rate was now going to go from 0% to 29% their deffault rate. Not only that, they told me that each and every month, GE Money had added a $39.00 late fee to my account and my minimum payment went from $132.00 to $356.00l By the time discovered the late charges since I didn't get paper statements (pays to check your statement each month) they didn't bother to advise that I was late by 1 day each month because they gladly got an extra $39 per month late charge which over 1 year was $468.00. Not only that, when my interest rate adjusted to 29% they said if I paid my account on time for the next year they would consider lowering it to 23%, their standard (ripoff) rate. This company entices individuals to finance through them with teaser rates and then if you mess up, socks it to you royally. After the new banking laws went into effect, I advised them they were legally required to lower my rate after 6 payments not twelve. Well, as I neared that time, I decided to call and advise them that I had to take a pay cut and could they do anything for me. Well amazingly they lowered my interest rate for 6 months to 10%. Then I get a notice saying that once the 6 months is up, my interest rate returns to the 29% despite the law saying they must return your interest rate to the standard rate. I still haven't gotten an answer to see if they will honor this new banking law. I am continuing to make $350 per month payments to pay off this blood thirsty company and promise I will never have an account with GE Money again.

I have not received a statement from GE Money Bank in the last 1 1/2. I have been paying only 50.00 per month since that is all I can afford. I wrote to them requesting a statement and did not get one. Only a letter telling me to comply with the credit counselling payment that I agreed to which I did not since I could not afford the monthly payment they wanted me to pay. So I called GE and made an arrangement to pay off my account for less than the amount I owe. My first payment was to be made on June 17, 2010. Then payments made each month til November. Well guess what they put my account into collections and now I am being harrassed by them to pay the t0ta amount not what we agreed upon. I called and the first one I spoke to said they can do it since I have not made any payments, I have a letter from GE stating they agree to accept the arrangements. I did not need to make any payments until June 17, 2010. Now I got a letter today stating me to call the Recovery Department to make arrangements to establish a payment plan to satisfy the outstanding debt on this account and yet I did that on 5/19/2010 I thought. The sad part is looking at both letters, there are 4 different addresses in 4 different states. How do you know which one is the right one to call. I called today to try to fix this and yet I kept getting handed to another person so I had to say the same thing over and over again. I think they do this just to get you frustrated which I did and ended up crying. Today I got handed to three people and had to go through it all over again times. And to top it off I am now being harassed by a bill collector trying to collect on this account.

GE Money Bank has scammed us yet again. We bought a Spa Capsule from Simulated Environment Concepts and was told the item was a cash cow, etc. When we bought it, we financed it through GE Money Bank with a one year to pay it off offer. The original cost was 27, 450. This cash cow never made more than $50 a month and I was left with high interest and a $800 a month bill for the Capsule. We explained to GE that we were disputing the costs with Spa Capsule but they wanted their money. They hounded us for months. My husband finally "settled" with them and they agreed on $4800 for one month, then two months later another $2500 was to be paid and then two months later a final $2500 was to be paid. They got their two payments but mysteriously are now saying the third never made it to them and now the "agreement is nullified and we owe them another $20, 000". We had these payments preauthorized to be withdrawn on the day they designated and now they are saying they did not get the money on time. They are liars beyond liars! Cheats, Scammers.

Do not purchase gift cards through Walmart or any other card with GE Money Bank name on it. My mother received a gift card from Walmart in December for $50.00. She has never been able to activate it. Walmart said they can't do anything about it, it's the bank. Each time she has called she looses money on the card. Each month you also loose $5.00 for not using the entire amount. She has less than $10.00 left. This is not right. When you buy a gift card, they have their money and it shouldn't expire or get penalized for not using it. I have reported them to the Ohio Better Business Bureau. A number to contact this company can't be found. You can only email your complaints. This company rips people off. Who reads the print on the back of a gift card. It is a gift and they have their money and still want more from you, by adding fees to something that should not be. This company should be held accountable for their actions and put out of business for riping the American people off.

Almost too much to detail. Bought a Profile refrigerator about 5 years agoo. Had multiple problems. Terrible rumbling noise that was intermittant. Service came out three times for $100+ each time to no avail. Finally oredered a new part that was a change and noise stopped. Then the cooling was affected. We had two instances of frozen food runined by high tewmperatures. We again had service where the service person defrosted the frost free refrigerator and it worked for awhile. We finally bought a freezer for the garage because we did not trust the one we had paid $2200 for. After this service call we talked with GE and that in itself was a problem. After starting discussions we lost phone contact three times and had to go back into the phone tree all over again. i probably spent 7 hours trying to get some help. The person wanted me to again call for service, at our expense, before she would commit to anything. I did not want to spend any more money on this dead fish. They kept saying why didn't you buy an extended warranty? Should you not expect an appliance to last more than a few years without repeated service calls? and Hundreds of dollars. they finally gave us a "deal" on a trade in. The deal was not anywhere near what it should have been and I am through will GE forever. Jack Welsh had best sell all his stock because this company is in deep trouble.

I have paid my payments on time every month. I have noticed them once in a while not post my payment within the "normal" time period if I pay too close to the due date so they can charge me a late fee.

We sold our bike to a friend and a few months later he was in an accident where the bike was totaled. Our insurance company paid off the bike in full and show they mailed the check on June 21st. They cashed the check by June 29th. We received a letter dated June 30th (we just received it July 6th) saying they never received payment and we need to send payment ASAP. The payoff amount was over $5000. It now shows 2 months past due because every time we call they are extremely rude, won't help at all and say to write in any complaints or demands.

I tried to call them again and they asked for my husband's account number. We always pay online and they don't show the entire account number. I don't get paper statements. I asked if they could look it up by SSN, they said no. They said since I wasn't on the account, my husband had to write in to give permission I could talk on his behalf... why do we have to write in? Just to delay things more?

My husband got on the phone and was transferred numerous times, each person being ruder than the last. Finally he said to the last person they were paid, they cashed the check and they won't get a penny more from us. Then hung up on them.

Not sure what will happen next. But I have a feeling this is why his credit score went down 48 points in the last 2 months with nothing past due, no inquiries, no high balances.

Stay away from GE!

Ge (or someone from India) calls 10-15 times per day asking for "Kay Fleming". We have no knowledge of such a person and have had this phone number since October 2009. We have called twice and each time were assured the calls would stop in 24 hrs but the continue. Our last complaint was Monday July 5th and as of this morning we have had another 31 calls. We don't answer the phone, just let it go to VM but it's still annoying. How can we get them to stop?

Both my husband and I have GE Money Bank and have fallen on hard
times. I have sent paperwork in showing proof of our income and they say they never recieved it. They supposedly sent out more paperwork 2 weeks ago but I stiil have nothing. My husband made arrangements like so many others and they call every day and tell him to send more. I used my friends phone to call them one time, and then they started calling her. I never gave them the number. When I asked why they called this number they said " this is the last number you called us on". They call my cell and my husbands cell constantly. I don't even answer my phone anymore.

Consumers should be able to research finance companies first before making a decision to apply for a finance product.

If consumers can see that GE Money products have distinct disadvantages, that the customer service is poor, the interest rates higher, and the debt collection process is very aggressive and damaging for the consumer it is more likely that consumers will not take up GE Money products.

Care Credit has just, I feel fraudulantly, attempted to get my checking account numbers and routing numbers in order for me to make a simple payment. They continue to refuse to accept payments by credit or debit card. I will not give out my checking account information to anyone, let alone a credit company being charged with fraud.

GE Money- and other credit card companies have alliances with Account Secure, which is a scam. They say that they will pay the account if you are unemployed or disabled for a monthly amount added to your credt card balance, when in fact it is a means of making it impossible to pay off the balance. It is often added without your knowledge and despite payments to the account it continues to grow. Beware of deceptive practices of Account Secure, who when you have a legitimate reason to use what you have paid for, they deny payment to your account when the need arises. Get something in writing to say it has been removed, because they will attempt to retain the charges despite your acceptance of the terms.

GE Money Bank (GEMB) Is not an unfair company that cheats millions out of money. They are a finance company that loans money.. YOU agree to the TERMS and CONDITIONS.. then you forget about them and just focus on the money or merchandise you just purchased. You dont think another thing about it untill something bad happens. I understand you didnt read the terms you just signed and when on your marry way, that is not their fault though.. that is your own fault for not reading and abiding by the terms. and just for the record, to respond to some of the various comments. they do NOT hold payments to charge you late fees, they want your money, it costs them more to chase you around trying to get it, they would rather get it the first time.. They dont cheat you out of anything, your laziness or lack of responsiblity cheats yourself. They are fair, they do abide by all laws they are great company. I have 2 precious ge money accounts that Ive since closed because I payed them off and I have one current ge money loan that Im currently paying off. I have had no issues. I did get one late fee and they said they would waive it as a one time courtesy and would not waive any more for atleast 12 mos. If I get another late fee im not going to call them and piss and moan, Im going to suck it up and know it was my fault. There nothing wrong with calling and asking them to help you out, Im not against that, but there is something wrong with getting all bent out of shape and degrading their name just because they didnt help you or things didnt go your way. They are a very reputable company and I will continue to business with them because they have proven to be a reliable trustworthy company. Pay what you owe, pay on time, and you will be fine.. p.s. READ THE BILLS YOU RECIEVE and READ WHAT YOU SIGN.. You dont have to be head cashier at walmart to figure out what might be a good idea..
