I was given $500 credit while i was at the vet with one of my dogs who ultimately died. Under such a time of stress i did not see the trial period clause.
I was late on one payment and had someone calling me threatening to empty my bank account...i did not even bring up the subject of the exhorbitant interest fees. Now i just got a letter saying the had canceled my account and i have to write to them. so i assume unless i pay the whole amount in full they will continue with their 20% interest per month. Unless you pay it all of you will never get rid of them seems to me they are glad to hand out credit to people under times of stress. the staff in mumbai hardly speak english and are obnoxious. I will take then to small claims if i have to, or they can take me to debtors court. these sort of companies are usually represented by lawyers who where almost certainly bottom of their class

I have taken loan against my property from GE Money Mahim Branch, Mumbai in July-07. I wish to share 2 instances.

1. Rate of Interest

My loan was sanctioned @ 13 % p.a. rate of interest. I signed the sanction letter accordingly. Subsequently, I came to know that they are charging interest @ 13.50%. I was never intimated, nor did they take my signature. May be they have forged my sign.

2. Insurance payment

One month after applying loan, I was told that it is sanctioned, but on the condition that I take insurance with Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Co. with annual premium of Rs. 50,000 compulsorily. I was told by Mr. Ravi from Mahim Branch that if I don't take it, my file will be returned to me. It was like blackmailing when applicant is in need. Subsequently, I came to know that it was not compulsory. Hence I denied that. Now, they are harrassing me by calling everyday & sending some person to my house in my absence. I am fad up with such harassment.

Beware of GE Money. Think twice before you apply.

I have 2 of my friends literally fad up with their practice of increasing rate of interest anytime without intimation.

I completely agree. 2 of my colleagues have taken loan from GE Money. Both of them are fad up with GE Money's cheating of increasing rate of interest any time without intimation. I would advise not to take loan from GE Money & pay a little higher interest loan from any other bank.

Why do Americans have to deal with someone over seas? In this case Shirley in India, I am nothing against her, #1 I could not understand her, #2 She does not know what is going on. But then again, I really don't GE Money gives a crap (trying to keep it clean here). ALL THEY WANT - IS THE ALMIGHTY $$$. for anyone who wants to deal with GE Money, I guess that is your choice, but me - I am staying the hell away from them. Thanks for letting me air out my frustration.

CareCredit will not work with you to lower your extremely high interest rates so that you can pay off your debt faster. I called to try to get the rate lowered from almost 33% so that I could pay off the balance quicker, they didn't care. AND the customer service rep started getting nasty with ME! I planned to pay the debt all at once and had some difficulty with another payment when the time came due and have been late a number of times. And they call incessantly! I want to pay off this debt, quick fast and in a hurry but they weren't interested in that, only in penalizing me.

My father passed away suddenly in Sept. 07. As executor, I settled with his creditors and thought I was done with them. Unfortunately, I later made the mistake of returning a new product my father had purchased just a week prior to his death. The company had a policy of crediting the credit card rather than sending the money directly to me. I didn't think that would be a problem and that since GE was so ready to take my money they'd be forthcoming with the refund. Ha!

Since February, I have been trying to get the refund from GE Money Bank. I have written 3 letters, made several phone calls, and am now seeking legal support in this matter.

If I've learned anything as an executor of an estate, it's to ignore the credit cards and pay them after everything else is done. BUT I'm a "good consumer."

If only I didn't settle my father's account! Now, I have to tolerate the condescension and ignorance of the GE Probate department. Their intimidation practices run the gamut from the commanding message to silence when put on hold. There's not one person in this office that can give me a definitive answer.

I gather that the only way I'll get their attention is by hiring an attorney and suing GE Money Bank.

GE Money gives poor customer service and a representative told me that he was not there to give customer service. I was appalled! CUSTOMERS PAY HIS SALARY! GE Money is impossible to work with and I will never do business with them again. I would highly recommend that no one else does either! They've shown me that they're out to sucker people!

This complaint is regarding GE Money Bank, a.k.a. FUNancing for motorcycles.
I purchased a motorcycle in May of 2017, and just recently totaled it.
Allstate sent in what they were told was the payoff amount, but my account still reflects
a balance of 1, 252.20 in "fees". When I esked an "escalation representative" to itemize or show me what these fees were,
She told me it wasn't going to happen! Then she refused to give me her supervisor's name, told me
it "wasn't gonna happen" and tried to hang up. When I told her I was glad I recorded the conversation,
she refrained from hanging up long enough to tell me nervously that she was not allowing me to record!
This, after they tell us the conversations are recorded for "quality and training purposes"...
Something needs to be done about this company- they epitomize the extorting credit companies that are ruining America's
economy with spiking interest rates, fees, etc wit no recourse!

I am finally getting justice from GEMONEY
They ignored the letters I sent certified mail return receipt requested -
However they did not ignore the complaint I made to the Federal Trade Commission and Office of Thrift Supervision.

They are removing my account from collections,
correcting my credit report and
removing all late fees and interest associated with unknown charges posted to my account in Dec 07.

They still have not validated the charges other than to claim I ordered a gift card online but failed to provide any recipient information as to who received the gift card. I have to make sure it was sent to someone I know!

I have filed an update with the Office of Thrift Supervision informing OTS that GEMB is still witholding pertinent information from me.

And that I also must receive a copy of the correspondence to the Collection Agency - so when they re-sell the debt - I have proof to send to the next collection agency.

ALMOST THERE!

If you are having problems with GEMB - FILE THAT COMPLAINT WITH FTC AND OFFICE OF THRIFT SUPERVISION ASAP. Otherwise GEMB will continue to ignore you

My husband applied for a GE Moneybank card to utilize a local tire company's 6 mo. no interest special to pay for his tires. I tried to set up the account online in order to make a payment each month for six months. The payment was credited to the account online, however 7 days later (after the due date), a return check fee was issued to the account and the payment was reversed. I can only assume this is because the incorrect account number was given erroneously by myself? (I am now a little sceptical) I immediately sent a payment in the mail to pay off the whole balance, which was received and credited several weeks after the due date (although I mailed the payment promptly). I was not aware of this, and the late payments accrued for several months without any paper statement etc. I discovered this by getting a phone call from GEMoney this week. To make a long story short, I have contacted customer service yesterday, agreed to pay the return check fee, and the person on the line told me the remaining balance would be taken off of the account and zeroed out since I was a valued customer. I checked today and not only are the three late payments still on the account, another late fee shows up for yesterday. I called today, and the customer service person tells me that the system was down, so the individual I talked to yesterday could not zero out the account. That's funny, since not only was my payment entered in, but the new late fee assessed within my account. Doesn't sound like the system was down to me! Next month is the end date for my husbands 6 mo. no payments. Even though the full amount was paid several months ago, something tells me, they are stringing this out until then, so that they can assess all interest accrued on the original amount.
I was told today that the account would be zeroed out and that I could see this within 48 hrs online. Something tells me this is not going to be true. Please be aware of this companies shady practices.

To Whom It May Concern:

This is regarding your collection practices. I received four called that day. The first call came in around 9:45 am. I talked with a “Tom”. I explained that I was out of work and I could pay $50.00 On Feb7th.
After that I received three more calls that day. The 4th call I was very upset and felt harassed, and wanted to get my number removed from your system. I was talking to a Nakia in N.C? (This office I can never get to). I explained my problem and she just rolled her eyes and blew air into the phone like I was wasting her time. I asked to talk to her supervisor named Vanessa? She understood why I was upset and said “I understand I am going to pull the call and give you a call back within 30 minutes.
Now it has been 5 working days and I have not received a call back. I have tried for hours to get in touch with your office in N.C or someone who knows Nakia or Vanessa and everybody’s response is
I don’t know.
Well I just got off the phone with a “Dan in OH” I explained the problem and after being on hold I was cold transferred straight into a Shelia Hunter’s voicemail. We will see if I get a call back from her or not.

We bought a Select Comfort on the one year 0% financing deal. Paid it off before the year was up using GEMoney's online payment site. Over a month later we receive a notice that our check bounced and they were charging us over 2, 000 in interest not to mention all the fees. Confused, we called our bank since the account we used was our home equity line with more than enough balance. The said they had no record of a charge being presented on our account and if there had been they would not have denied it. Called GE and they said "well, your check bounced, but if you send us an extra $300 we'll make it all go away." They verified that the account numbers we gave them were correct and insist the bank refused the payment, but they refuse to provide any documentation showing they presented the charge to the bank and it was denied. The bank has no record of any attempt. We sent GE a physical check for the principal amount on the exact same account that they claimed was rejected and guess what? The check cleared just fine. So now they are still harassing us for the interest and bounced check fee, but again promised to make it all go away for $300. I don't know what else to call this other than fraud. We are contacting our state's Attorney General and the BBB.

I recently had my Lowes credit card cancelled by GE Bank for late payments. So I figured I would pay it off, and no thanks Lowes.

I called in the hopes of posiblt setting up a payment plan even theough the amount owed was not that much.

In calling I sppke with a foreign gentleman, name unknown, and was approaching the possibilities of setting up payments, so I could leave them in good faith.

He stated that as long as my account is in the arrears, I would still have to pay the late fees.

I know that this is the way it is..but we have no-one bailing us out.
Thanks for not taking the time to handle this matter in a professional manner.

I agree that the this company's customer service (non-exsistant) is one of the worst that I have ever encountered with any business. I have a government purchasing job and I do a hell of a lot of business with online vendors and customer service representatives and I have never, NEVER, run across a company with such a rude, non-customer friendly, in your face attitude towards the very people who keep their butts in business. How freaking arrogant can one CEO and customer service manager be towards their customer's? It's a damn insult!

First Complaint: I made a payment of $225.00 which reflects as "posted to my bank account" on 16 Mar 2017, meaning they have my payment money there. Now, here it is 24 Mar 09 and it still hasn't shown up on my account and these idots are telephoning me because I haven't made a payment, WHAT?. What the hell does the accounts receivable accountant do around there all day? Who the hell is posting the books? This is totally unacceptable business accounting practicies in my estimation.

Second Complaint: I have tried for 5 days straight to contact GE Money on the phone to pay off the balance and terminate my account with this irresponsible company. It's next to impossible (if not impossible since I've never been able to reach a live person) to get to talk with a customer service person. If someone knows how to get past the damn automated telephone system to talk to anyone, I'm open to suggestions.

Third Complaint: I've tried and tried to login to my account online and the stupid thing say "The information you provided doesn't match our records", Imagine that? Let's see, my SSN, my telephone number, my date of birth hasn't changed in 50 some odd years, how the hell does it not match their records? How about unqualified employees doing the data input?

At first I thought I was just getting all steamed up over nothing, then I went to the complaints page and low and behold, there's many more customers experiencing like problems with this company.

This is totally unacceptabel to me as a customer in good standing. This is how people's credit gets stained and their score get dropped. All because some incompetant, uncaring companies like this one think they're too damn good to answer a phone and personaly take care of customers. How Rude can one company be? GE Money obviously doesn't care if they drive away a customer?

I will be paying off the charge I created for the purchase of a new set of tires and then I'm going to cut there damn card in such small pieces that it'll look like sand.

If GE Money cares anything about keeping repeat customers, the first thing they need to do is rip that damn phone system out of the wall and throw it in the dumpster, the second thing would be to fire the customer service manager since they obviously haven't got a clue as to what good customer service is, and get back to the basics of good ol' person to person customer service. And lastly, get rid of the CEO and the accounting manager and get someone in there who is customer oriented.

I highly recommend that if any of you who are considering financing ANYTHING with this company and you have any other alternative at your disposal for obtaining credit for your purchases, use it! Stay the hell away from these people and let their stupidity and their beloved phone answering system sink their own ship.

A Highly Dis-satisfied customer!

I have been a satisfied member of Sam's Club for over 15 years and used a GE Money issued Sam's Club Discover Card account as both my membership card and my credit account with Sam's since 1996s. In January 09 they dropped a $12, 000 credit line to $2, 000 (because there was an $1, 862 balance). I have good credit with no late pays anywhere--ever. They do this to try to hurt people's credit score by keeping them at 90% utilization of the available credit. Then they can turn around and say that your credit score went down based on their own actions so that they can raise the APR. I paid off the balance the day I received the statement. Then they dropped the credit line to $100. I closed the account. Goodbye to Sam's Club and GE Money!

We had made a purchase for which GE was the loan company. After a few payments, we received a letter stating that if we paid off the balance early, we would receive an incentive check in the mail.
Since this was doable and would save us a little, I paid off the balance. The check has never arrived. Numerous calls to customer service resulted in my continuously being told I would receive the check in " 7 - 10 business days. After reading some of these other compaints, mine seems minor.
I suggest we all send letters to our elected officials and see if we can get anay results.

My husband was laid off June 15th due to cut backs. We immediatly sent out a letter to inform our creditors of what was happening. After a week had passed and we still had not recieved unemployment, fell behind on our house payment as well as every payment we sent out another letter explaining that our situation was still the same. The next week I called the creditors to talk to them. GE is the most difficult to get through to speak to a rep. I ended up having to call 7 times now asking them to stop the harrassing calls as now we are unablle to even eat. Out of 5 credit card companies GE is the only one that has made our situation even that much more stressfu;. 2 letters and 7 calls apparently is not enough to tell them we have full intent of taking care of this debt when we are able. Yesterday when I made the 7th call I asked to please stop the 8x a day phone calls and was told they would stop. At 6:00 a.m. this morning they began again.
It is beyond me how this credit card company has continually made mistakes on our billing, never once admitting to a mistake because you can't talk to a rep. But then to be going through the hardest times in our life, losing everything and trying to make sure that our creditosr know we have full intention of paying our deb onlyt to be harrassed so often daily is sad to me that they have zero empathy for our situation.
Stay away fro GE money. They are one big headache and care nothing about the consumer. They should have gone down with WallStreet! And perhaps their greed and lack of customer service will one day be their down fall.

I have to agree with the rudeness of the ge call centres. As if it wasnt bad enough that I called at 5.pm and was on hold for 20 minutes before the phone rang out. When I called back at 8.30 and spent 6 minutes going throught all of the automated rubbish, I spoke to a useless person call Anup (like Prince she had no last name) who couldn't help with either complaints and couldn't get anybody to call me back. When I asked if I could speak to somebody who could help she said yes and then cut me off. Tomorrow I'll be calling and demanding to be put through to an British call centre, where the customer service centre might actually be able to help

I was approved for a no payment and interest for one year account when purchasing my Select Comfort Bed. I did pay the account in full and on time. GE Money closed the account with zero balance . I believe I am on their black list for taking advantage of their offer. When I attempt to call them, they literally hang up on me. Once I finally got thru to them on a different phone number. I wanted to make another large purchase, they said NO without checking any of my credit credentials, etc. I have been black listed for utilizing their offer!

I have used credit cards and I work for a finance company myself. If your credit line was reduced then it is because you were late before or missed payments. Finance companies are not out to wreck your credit. There are many other people out there who don't get reduced credit line. Yours was most likely reduced because you were a risk of some kind. Companies have to protect themselves too.

Apparently your efforts to pursue a class action against GE Money failed...they are up to their old trick and worse this round. It would also appear that virtually every major retailer is rushing to GE Money for credit service. Its time to apply the pressure where it really hurts - go at the retailers with class-actions. I just received a notice from GE Money advising that they are increasing their rates to a new high...worse when one is late making a payment. Equally worse is that GE Money do not care if the retailer lose customers...what a mess. What is the status of the class action...did you ever find an honest lawyer willing to take on the cause for justice and equality...?

I Have just had the most awful customer service from GE Money that has left me close to tears.
I have been charged a goods insurance fee that should have been deducted in February 2017. The woman on the phone was demeaning and kept speaking over top of me. She stated that the proof of insurance I submitted in February 2017 was only a quote and a letter was sent out to me explaining this. I have never received such a letter, if i had i would have called the insurance company and sorted this ASAP! The letter I provided was in fact straight from ASB bank on the day that I had commenced contents insurance. I have proof on my bank account statements that I have been insured from day one but this woman did not seem to care. Since when were customer service staff so unfriendly? I will never deal with GE money ever again.

For almost two years a GE Money collection representative has been calling my mother-in-law’s phone number asking to speak with an individual we do not know, demanding payment on a loan that we do not have. We have explained to the caller that these calls are being made to an incorrect number, but no one at GE is evidently willing or able to correct this problem. So far there have been well over 200 collection calls made to my wife’s mom in this two-year period. We are logging these calls, some of which have been made in the middle of the night, and will be turning this log over to the CT Attorney General’s office. AVOID THIS LENDER!

Did he say anyone FORCED him to take out a loan? If he gets calls from collections the choice is to pay your bills on time and no problem. Stop blaming others! Most companies outsource something-if you needed more help with an issue and called Customer Service, it is likely you will get someone in the US.

I have my payment automatilty taken from my checking account each month to make a payment . They have changed the payment due (without me noticeing it) and just this month -as always after the first run in it was taken out on the same day at the bank -has always made it there in plenty of time -now they say it was late -from the 8th taken out to being posted on the 14th-and added a late charge -it's been taken out the 8th with no pro33blem for the last several months or more---I called they did take the late fee off but the payment will still be 10 dollars higher --the 39.99 late fee is rediculous to begin with--wish I had never gotten anything through these people.

This company is horrible! They never sent up our statments even though we called repeatly and asked for them. We got behind in payments but i paid close to 400.00 to get us back on track. My husband called the customer service # today as was treated horribly like we were criminals. My husband asked for help with the statments and they blew him off and told him to call the Attorney for collections. When my husbond complained we never received a bill they advised that was our problem and they didnot have to send us a bill. He asked for a manager and was refused.

Its ok when the banks asked for billions from the goverment in a bail out but please don't aks for a few extra weeks to make your payment or to send you the bill. i have other credit cards and have not had this problem.

I have read several of the letters on here and there representives have no right to talk to people the way they did. They still should be professional. The attorney's office was much better to deal with even though they orginally wanted 175.00 a month which is not going to happen. If we had not falle nbehind we would have only paid 40.00 a month.

I will finish making my payments and be done with them. if this is the way they feel they can treat their customers we are better off without them.

This is a horrible company and i suggest if you were considering a credit card not too.

We financed a bedroom set through GE Money, we were told we had to go through them from our retailer. We were given a 3yr, no interest promotion. We financed $2, 500.56.

We ran into issues with their online payment program. My wife attempted to make an online payment, and we would receive a confirmation number for our online payment. We were given no notice that there were issues with the checking account we gave. We just get the next statement showing a late fee and a returned check fee. We try again online per the customer representative we spoke to, got a confirmation number, but again the same treatment. I called to dispute the fees because there was some confusion with the checking account number we processed. However, we successfully processed our checking account number, and would receive confirmation numbers for our payment request. I told them that it was clear we were attempting to make payments on time, and that we wanted to have the late and returned check fees credited. They did that, and we went forward with just mailing checks. Everything was current and consistent on a monthly basis.

We just received our latest statement. We were being advised (no prior notice) that our promotion was being terminated and finance charges of $363.60 were included in the latest statement. I called to find out why, and the manager I spoke to said it was because we had a couple of late payments throughout the history of our account. I explained that there was confusion with their online payment system and we called consistently every month, and everything was taken care of in September. All the "manager" could tell me over and over again was that the termination is valid and she could not change it back (her name is Amanda). Amanda claims we received a mailing in September, warning us our promotion would be terminated. We never received such a mailing nor did anything like this show up in our September statement. Also, we never received an email from them or a phone call from them advising this.

In summary, we thought everything was corrected with the online payment issues and confusion, and GE Money has made a backhanded decision, so they can squeeze money out of us. It is the most disgraceful example of customer treatment I have ever had to experience.

I was mailed a bill on 1/5/2017 and the bill was due on 1/09/2017.
I should not have to pay a late fee for failure to have the bill getting late to me before the due date four days away. I will like to credited for the charge of twenty nine dollars due to Ge Money error. I always pay my bills on time. Nikki Wilson [protected]

Fell behind on a few bills. Since then, I have been constantly "harassed" by GE Money Debt Collection. They call anywhere between 8 to 10 times a day, and can barely understand a word that they're saying. On top of that, recently, while talking to them, I heard a beeping noise in the background. Finally one day I asked about it, and found that they were recording me, without letting me know that they were recording me! What the? Is this even legal? I looked it up, and found out that it's illegal for them to be recording me without my knowledge. So the next time it happened, I asked for a supervisor and was hung up on. I've only made it to a supervisor once, and he refused to talk about it at all. He just kept going on about the debt. How does one report this?
