Had a amazing experience workin with the service team
Had a amazing experience workin with the service team. Had a few troubles with mah tire, called bout 6 spots. Lucky they stay open a bit later and Chris got me in right away and fixed my issue like a champ. Car issues can be a headache but the process was smooth sailin. Highly recommend the service team and for sure gonna come back to them.
I bought carz in the past from other dealerships that were k, some stood behind there contracts but most were just trying to make a fast buck
I bought carz in the past from other dealerships that were k, some stood behind there contracts but most were just trying to make a fast buck. The team at Gillespie Ford in Gurnee was by far the best team ive ever worked with to buy a car. *** and *** are the best. These 2 actually walked me through every step of the process, before and after the completion of sale. They stood firm on thier words of thier contract, and bagged it up. This means a lot to me, I will be buying all my cars from Gillespie Ford in Gurnee, as long as these 2 gentlemen are there. Thank you for a terrific car buying experience. Blessings.
I like Fords and bought a few over 25 years, but man, Gillespie Ford is terrible
I like Fords and bought a few over 25 years, but man, Gillespie Ford is terrible. They really messed up my Explorer purchase. My wife and daughter went to the dealership and they said the car wasn't there, but they would deliver it. We filled out paperwork and waited for delivery, but then found out the car had 6,000 miles on it, not the 6 they originally told us. I asked for a lower price, but they said no problem. The next day they called again and said the miles were already accounted for, even though they never mentioned it in the beginning. It's just not right. I took my business somewhere else and I suggest you do the same.
Went to Gillespie Ford to buy a car but had a bad experience
Went to Gillespie Ford to buy a car but had a bad experience. Called beforehand and they said no discounts, only MSRP. When I got there, they added $1,290 to the price. The manager wouldn't answer my questions and was rude. First payment quoted was $507, but they called us back and lowered it to $467, then $465. Finally, we left with a payment of $449. Worst car buying experience since the 80s. Can't believe they still sell cars this way. They also lowballed our car, offering $15,700 when we got offered $16,600 from another dealer. They said they could sell it to someone else for $200 more. They lack leadership and wouldn't let me talk to the owner or get a call back from management. Don't recommend.
Salesperson at Gillespie Ford named a sales rep called me about a Maverick for $24,000
A sales rep at Gillespie Ford called me about a Maverick for $24,000. I drove almost two hours the next morning, but they increased the price by $10,000! The truck's retail price is $20,000, yet they wanted $30,000. It's unfair! They disregard customers with bait-and-switch tactics, making someone drive far to overcharge them by $10,000. I reported them to the vehicle manufacturer and will report to the state for false advertising. Be wary of this dealership's dubious practices.
gillespie ford has a good name among car dealerships, but when it comes to their attitude, it's quite different
gillespie ford has a good name among car dealerships, but when it comes to their attitude, it's quite different. The stuff acts rudely, arrogantly, and does not communicate well internally. I wanted to buy a 2020 new/low mileage Ford F-150, and since there were no vehicles available where I live, I began searching online. I found a truck I liked on Gillespie's website on a Sunday and sent them an email about my interest, asking to send me the factory invoice as I live over 3 hours away. I got a text message from Lynn Hoffman on Monday asking to communicate through texts. She didn't respond back to me, so I called her at 3:30 PM. Hoffman made up an excuse as to why there was no communication. She rejected my offer, and she was quite insulting.
Later on that evening around 7:00 PM, another individual contacted me and asked to talk to a sales manager and test drive the truck. It was during a snowstorm, and I still live over 3 hours away. On Wednesday, another salesperson contacted me, and I offered him a higher price than what I originally offered Hoffman. He told me that Gillespie's online pricing was misleading, so the real price was higher than advertised, which was $40,000. I was willing to pay $37,000.
If you want to get nonsense treatment, then Gillespie Ford is the right place for you!

Bought a new car from Gillespie Ford and was cheesed to find out they charged me twice for delivery and destination!
Bought a new car from Gillespie Ford and was cheesed to find out they charged me twice for delivery and destination! What gives? Delivery's already part of the vehicle's MSRP. It's a real bummer they ignored me when I brought it up.
Dropped car on 8/20 cuz of engine light and trans light
Dropped car on 8/20 cuz of engine light and trans light. They said it'd be done on 8/28 but wasn't. Said it was somewhere else. Waited for shuttle. No loaner available. Both lights still on.
So I got a Subaru WRX 2018 from Gillespie Ford on April 8th
So I got a Subaru WRX 2018 from Gillespie Ford on April 8th. Paid $28899.00 for it. Everything was cool at first but within 48 hours I saw check engine light on and oil leaks on the car. I took it to a good mechanic who specializes in Subaru WRX and got a list of issues. I contacted the dealership but now nobody wants to help me out. Even when I call, they send me to voicemail and nobody returns my emails or phone calls. Nate told me that he needed to talk to the general manager and then, silence. If you need proof, I can show you some documents.

I brung my car to Gillespie Ford on 8/20 cuz I had a check engine light on
I brung my car to Gillespie Ford on 8/20 cuz I had a check engine light on. The sales person said it was just a cam shaft sensor that needed fixin', but it didn't make no difference. Next they said the wiring needed redoing, but that didn't fix it neither. Now they say another part needs changed and my bill done went from $600 to $4,000. I reckon they're screwing me over. My car's been sittin' in their shop for six weeks and they ain't even offered me a loaner car or nothin'. Ain't too happy 'bout the whole deal. -
I buyed a 2008 Acura TL for my Son in June from Gillespie Ford
I buyed a 2008 Acura TL for my Son in June from Gillespie Ford. They offered me extra service with more cost. I take the *** service contract and the GAP insurance from *** too through Gillespie Ford. Later I called *** to make sure my contract was good but it was not! *** say the *** service contract was denied and the GAP insurance was in process. I start to drive and find out my service I pay for was not good. I call Gillespie Ford and they don't know about this contract. So I ask to cancil and get my money back (about 3,000 bucks). They say they will cancil and fix it but nothing happen yet. I call money people many times but always only voice message. So bad they make me think I buy something but no... Please help!
fix. Overall, it was a frustrating experience with Gillespie Ford
fix. Overall, it was a frustrating experience with Gillespie Ford. They promised us a car that wasn't even available and then sold us a faulty car with a high repair bill. Don't waste your time or money on this dealership.
I bought a car from Gillespie Ford and they financed it through their bank without my consent
I bought a car from Gillespie Ford and they financed it through their bank without my consent. This caused me to receive nine hits on my credit report. After realizing the car I bought wasn't safe in the snow with my baby, I tried to return it. But, the sales manager wouldn't let me and made me choose between two cars with over a lot of miles on them. I had to put down $3,000 but still couldn't get a copy of the contract for the first car I bought. I found out they changed the price of the car I bought and included a warranty I didn't want. They also forged my signature without my permission. I got a second car from them, but it came with damage to the back. It took them two weeks to fix it and I still have to pay for both cars. It's been two months and they still haven't paid off the loan for the first car.
Took my truck to Gillespie Ford in February because there was a noise in the back end of the truck
Took my truck to Gillespie Ford in February because there was a noise in the back end of the truck. I paid $2,400 for repairs but when I got it back, the noise was still there. I didn't immediately realize this because the truck needs to be driven on the highway for at least 50 miles. I told them this. When I did drive it that far, I took it back to Gillespie Ford and they diagnosed a different problem for the rear end noise and fixed something else that didn't solve the problem. This repair cost me $1,800 this time. However, the noise still exists.
Before the first repair, I had asked the service department to save all parts so I can see them, but they conveniently forgot. As they did after the second repair. They were having a tough time getting the symptoms to arise because they were not driving far enough, and I told them it had to be hot. Before they worked on it the second time, I had driven to Chicago. I called the service advisor and warned him about my whereabouts and intentions, which was to come straight back to Gillespie after exiting the highway from Chicago. This way, it would be assured that the noise would be at its best. Alex, the service advisor, said to call him when I get close, so I can have someone waiting to go on a road test while it's hot. But of course, when I get there, I wait for 30 to 40 minutes before someone comes out. Now, it's cooled down.
Now, I get home and call the service manager, Aaron. He said to bring it in on Monday but when I got there on Monday, they told me they don't have time and to come back on Wednesday. I dropped it off on Wednesday and they kept it for over a week. That's when they decided to tell me that the noise was coming from the front. So they added some other parts which didn't solve the problem. In total, they took $4,200 of my hard-earned money and didn't fix the problem. Furthermore, after each repair, I specifically asked if there were any other problems that needed to be fixed, but both times they said no. So why are they fixing all these different things when the original problem still exists? Incompetence is the problem.
