unprofessional manager and stylist
In Mokena, IL on Saturday, January 3rd my husband got his haircut by Ally and she told him he has a 5 finger forehead because he is balding. She thought it was hilarious & so did the manager Kristy. He was appalled and will never go in there again, and we will tell all of our friends. Also, my friend told me your manager Kristy always discounts her whole family without coupons. Just thought you'd like to know what kind of staff you have. She also told me that when her husband went in your salon, Ally cut his hair and instead of being professional, all she did was flirt and ask him if she could go with him on his vacation. You should clean up the mess over there!

worst haircut ever
Went in for a basic guy's haircut Thursday Dec. 10, 2009 at the Oshawa East location of Great Clips. This has got to be the worst haircut I've ever had, and I don't think I'm all that discerning; maybe I've just been very lucky over the years. Mismatching all over the head except where they sheared with clippers. I'd guess that if your cut can be accomplished by using only clippers, you're probably all right. But if scissors and comb are involved, don't bother with this place. The price is low, but then so is the quality.

is there anything positive I can say?
Wow as I was reading other people's complaints, I was thrilled to see that there were some from fellow hair stylists.
I have been working at great clips for nearly a year now. Mostly because I had been layed off from another job and they were the first to respond to a hurried, desperate application.
When I went in for my interview, I was shocked how they did not even check my references and were not interested in how long I had been a cosmetologist. I was told that I would not have a set schedule EVER and that my hours would vary from week to week, that you did not receive sick days or holiday/vacation time until 90 days of my hire date. But that was nothing compared to what I was told next.
The manager at the time told me that I would be sent to a great clips academy where I would learn how to cut hair. Excuse me? I have been a stylist for six years now...I damn well better know how to cut hair. But she told me I had to go to this place, which was an hour drive, and receive no gas money or compensation AT ALL. The training was a joke. I didn't learn a thing from it, except for the fact that I had to follow a million rules and not use my creativity.
Since that fateful day that I accepted the job it has been nothing but a struggle. I get no respect as a stylist and am often referred to as a barber instead. I have gotten repremanded numurous times for having too many request customers, seeing as they want you to remain nameless and in sync with the other stylists. Almost a cult feel. I recently went down to part time so hopefully they would be more leanient with my schedule, but no such luck. It's impossible to request time off, and they seem to have the options to randomly change your schedule mid-week apparently. I thought that was against some kind of policy?
What's worse is the current manager seemed to be plucked out of the sky. She has no idea what she's doing and keeps her own schedule, while the rest of u are suffering through her idiocricy.
I am seeking out other employment...
People say that you can get a lot of experience by working for great clips. Yeah, they teach you to be like everyone else for very little pay with an uncaring manager and cheap customers. Would you rather spend 12 bucks on a haircut that is half-assed(due to the fact that we literally have to do haircuts that fit into a 13-17 minute timeframe)or spend 24 and have a haircut that is not rushed, a pleasant stylist, a shampoo that is part of the service, I could go on and on. I am worth more than this and would love to be respected as an artist. Not just some random quick-shearing stylist who works at a chop shop. Thank you all for reading this!

I am sorry you feel that way I worked for Great Clips 15 years until I became ill and I was a manager who orientated my stylist pretty well our franchise even had a orientation book that explained every benefit they do not send you for retraining you are suppose to learn that in your schooling what they do explain and go over is a guide and structure, because everyone has there own creativity some better than others they also teach you customer service and some people have that quality and some dont, it sounds to me you have taken some things personally that can effect the way you are as a employee, if you put as much effort into your work as you did on this complaint then you might help direct the staff and lead by example, it does work and managers do need the help work is what you make it.
never again
The shop in Kenmore, Washington is the pits. Do not expect them to have any talent or listen to you. The stylist began by asking me a bunch of personal questions, then she started cutting, way shorter than what I asked for, and gave me a boring, dated bob style that is what I told them I did not want. Very unflattering, really embarrassing. A "repair" cut was offered, but the change was so subtle as to make no real difference. The second stylist, though kind, could not improve it. That would have taken some daring, which she did not have. Then, they denied my request for one more chance to improve it, and gave me the refund of 7.99. Hey, what can you expect? NEVER AGAIN will I set foot in a one of those chop shops, because that is what they are--chop shops.

I also worked for Great Clips in OR. Some Joe Blow off the street decided he wanted to be an owner. I have been in this business for 21 yrs and feel that I am a caring and devoted stylist. After awhile I became manager (still have figured out why i wanted to be one), someone was stealing the money and we also had some employees that were hired before I became manager. I would say 3 of the 10 employees there were honest and cared about their client. The other one were young, inexperienced or had major mental or drug problems. When I had positive proof of people doing the owner wrong, i would discuss w/the owner about terminating them and why. He would say alright. So I would hardly get sleep that night and thought about what I was going to say. I am a caring and senistive person and hate hurting anyone. So having to fire someone really took a toll on me. Arriving @ work the next morning, all geared up to do part of my job that I hated! The owner would call and say to wait until he arrived. When he arrived, he would tell me that we are too busy to fire that person. Heaven help me, why he would do this. Especially when I knew who was doing what! It cost more to keep them than to fire them because we are a state that does not have to give a reason why they are firing you. Then I got carpal tunnel in both wrists and the owner never made a report. I made an appt. then scheduled surgery. He told another employee that if I had the surgeries he was going to fire me before I got back. I wasn't even going to claim workman's comp. Well when I heard he wanted to fire me, I made sure and told him that since he wanted to fire me, I was going to claim WC and I would get in touch with the labor board. So on my first day back getting to cut hair, he made the schedule so it was myself and another stylist on a Sat. and I was working for minimum wage. To say the least, that was my last day there. Never will work for a chop shop where they are only interested in the bottom dollar.
butchered my hair 2 times
Both Graceland Shopping Center location and Westerville - Parkview Center location have butchered my hair. In both instances I told them I was growing my hair out - but they did not listen! Graceland Lori cut more than 1/2 off my bangs when I asked for a trim. Westerville Jared - cut the 2+ inches I had grown out the back of my hair off and made it as short as it was when I started growing it out 6 months ago.
In both cases they claimed I didn't use their terminology - but in neigher case did they ask me any clarifying questions.
Both are franchises so I got no help from the corporate headquaters.

Smart style has an exclusive contract with Walmart... Where as Great Clips is normally located AROUND a walmart, not normally in a walmart. Great Clips has nothing to do with the Regis Corp at all..
I recently had a shampoo style at the Great Clips on Cottage Grove Rd in Madison Wisconsin. I was floored when my bill was $31.00. My hair is not even shoulder link and they consider it long. The only thing they did was shampoo and use a round brush. Another stylist maybe did 2 haircuts at $6.99, while I was getting mine done, which would equal $13.98. Why would mine be $31.00.
LOL7654...you are sooo right.
What the hell is wrong with corporate?
I see that GREATCLIPSINC is reading this forum...Hey [censored], read what the stylist are trying to tell you.
They are the ones that need the help. Not the poor fools that are coming in with their 6.99 coupons.
If you would see that the stylist were treated properly, you wouldn't have to be telling the customer to contact corporate.
You would WANT the salons to be making more money for the franchisee right?
More money for corporate too...or is it that you need to justify your job?
Well if you take complaints seriously with clients were does a stylist go with their complaints about this company? That's what i would like to know. I would like to say that corporate needs to wake up and smell the coffee! I have never seen a company take such good care of the needs of a salon owner and not give a hoots about the stylists who make this place.
I'm sorry to hear about your bad experience. I work for Great Clips corporate and would like to ensure your complaint is addressed. We take complaints very seriously, if a complaint is registered against a particular salon/franchise owner, we will schedule a quality service review. If you have not done so already, please call us at 1-800-GREATCLIPS so we can investigate further.
management
I am a loyal customer. I found a beautician several years ago at Tree Cuts and she was wonderful! She was patient with my children and saved my hair from a terrible hair cut. She styled, colored and made it great! Since that day I have stuck with Ruthie! I followed Ruthie from Tree Cuts to Great Clips and have been going to the Great Clips in South Bend for the past couple years just because Ruthie is there. This location is convenient for me. Just yesterday I find out that the management of Great Clips has moved Ruthie out to a location in Granger. This location is not convenient for Ruthie and definitely not for me. This is over 1 hour away from my home. Not sure why any company would treat their associates in such a way. This is not near her home, and did not ask for this location transfer. How many customers will continue to follow her or any other stylist around town? It will cost A LOT in gas money for the much added travel to go out to Granger just to continue to have my hair cut and styled by Ruthie. I will do this in hopes that she will be moved back to a more convenient location for her and her loyal customer base.

Im a stylist at Great clips, and there were many reasons for the switch. Some salons need a little boost and they did what they thought was best for everyone. Upper management can never make everyone happy, no business works that way. I live an hour away for the salons I'm working at right now and I don't mind. The stylist that seem to not get raise are the ones that are not doing there jobs normally. I have worked for the fort Wayne and south bend markets and I would recommend great to anyone.. clips is a great business for girls just out of school since most of the schools in south bend don't teach fade or much passed the basics. Plus great clips bonuses and starting wages are high that any franchise out there.
MANAGEMENT ONLY CARES ABOUT MANAGEMENT AT GREAT CLIPS, THEY MAKE U THINK THEY CARE BOUT U AND THAT U ARE GOING TO GET RAISES BUT YOU ARE NOT, NO ONE AT THE SALON I WORKED AT EVER GOT A RAISE, THEY ALWAYS FOUND WAYS TO SCREW US OUT OF THEM!HOPE THESE KIDS OUTTA SCHOOL DON;T GET HOOKED UP WITH THESE FRANCHISES
terrible haircut(s)
I got my haircut there by a girl named Amy. I really need not say more, as you can look at the picture, and see why I am here.
This is the second time, and second stylists that has literally "chopped" my hair. The first time, I didn't do as I did this time, (took pictures), but I did complain to the manager, who was really nice (and unfortunately is no longer there. Guess she got tired of dealing with all the complaints.)Anyway, she gave me my money back, and offered to try and fix it. She sat me down and literally looked at my hair and said, "I don't know WHAT he did to your hair, or how I'm even going to fix it." She was at a loss, and eventually, cut it off with as much as she could keep, and told me to come to her, and that she would do my hair till it grew back out to my satisfaction. She also called the manager above her to get him out, and the man was booted out of her store at her request. However, I found out, he was let back by her just as easily as he had been booted by her boss.
Now, she is not there anymore. They have all new people, or at least new to me on this day. Thought I'd give them another shot...and this picture is what I got for taking that chance and listening to the commercial, "walk right in, sit right down, baby let your hair hang down. Relax, you're at Great Clips."
Now, after this great hairstyle, I've gotten my money back, and have dealt with the new manager, STACY. A girl named AMY did this wonderful style to my hair.
I told Stacy that I didn't even want to talk to her, I wanted to talk to HER manager, and explained that I'm not mad, but I WANT ANSWERS as to why I keep walking out with haircuts like this? She told me that the only number she had for her manager was a, (get this) HOME number and she couldn't give it out. A HOME number for a district manager? I'd assume that's what her title is, but who knows. I have yet to hear from her.
That's ok...while she's not answering me, I'm using my time sharing this lovely haircut photo with as many people as I can, and asking them to share their stories, and so on and so on.
I'm done with Great Clips, and hopefully you and your's will be too.

I am a stylist and I understand what you mean, I have to say that you get a fifty fifty chance, Many stylist out there do not give a ### and dl not listen and are very unexperienced. I would ask your friends for recommendations so you knw you will get good service. I would also contact an above manager because that should get her fired and is very unprofessional and immature. Most stylist need to realize its customers first, erghhhhh and I see it all the time, frustrating! sorry this happened to you!
I have never had a problem with Great Clips. I only get my hair cut when they have their $4.99 sale and I even went with a different style than I normally do. I had no bangs and she cut me some side bangs (which are really hard to do on curly hair). Everyone I know raved about my hair, including me. I guess you just had some bad luck. Sorry to hear that
That was a bad cut, but that is the quality that is given when a stylist is pressured to cut hair in 17 min. or less, and productivity has to be within certain amount of minutes at the end of a day. If you keep going to Great Clips hopefully you will find a stylist that is smart enough to wait to check you in that way your not on the clock and the stylist can take the time needed to cut your hair the wright way and work with all your cowlicks and swirls so that at the end of the cut everything is laying nice and even.
u need to email or call greatclips.com Trust me! I work for this place and we had a stylist that gave bad Haircuts people would complain to our manager and owners. But the only time they did anything is when people called the corporate office or went online and complained.
Good luck!
Looks normal for Ohio. What's the problem?
Dude that is rough.
disgusting service
I had my haircut at the Great Clips on Cobb Parkway in Kennesaw by stylist and store manager Michelle Crillman. Her breath reeked of alcohol, and she spewed out racial slurs during my entire haircut! It was disgusting. Also the store was unkempt, and the chair that I sat in during the haircut was sticky. Also, the receptionist told me after I had complained that Crillman had been arrested for her drinking problem and is currently on parole. Can you believe that this woman is a manager? DISGUSTING. What is wrong with this world?
I would never recommend the store! She should be FIRED.

The first week of August 2015 I went in to get the split ends trimmed off of my very long hair. I told the so called stylist (Lara) three (3) times that all I wanted was to have my split ends trimmed and to have my neck cleaned up. After telling her three (3) times the apparently untrained and uneducated stylist (Lara) gathered my hair in one hand and whacked off my long hair at the neckline. I worked for years to get my hair that length and spent a lot of money keeping it nice. The so called manager of that filthy dump called it miscommunication when it was an act of what I suspect is blatant theft of hair. My advice to anyone, man, woman or child is to never ever do business in that disgusting chop shop.
I had to work with people just like that at Puyallup south hill Great Clips. I hated working there. I was the only moral, experienced professional there. I had been doing hair for 20 years. All my coworkers were young, immoral, bar hopping skanks. I am glad I no longer work there. I didn't fit in there.
nazi management tactics

Great Clips is a piece of ### company to work for, one day you have a job and the next u dont. So Hairgal dont hold your breath for too long and dont kiss to much ###, very unattractive.
Wow! Blackanus is extreme, but accurate...
hairgal...congrats on the promotion...you document the ### of of those poc great clits staff infections...do YOUR job make them be happy...document them for something positive stupid ###
WOW! Seriously? Hairgal, you are something! Myself, as well as several others I know have reported issues to Corporate, only to be ignored. That's wonderful you've found an awesome owner to work for, but having been connected to this company for over a decade, and having had contact with others employed in numerous locations, your experience is rare. To claim that it's the fault of employees that their experience is lacking just shows how blessed and sheltered you truly are!
I also work for Great Clips. I think our experiences at Great Clips (or anywhere else for that matter) are greatly dependant on who we work for, not the company itself. I am lucky to work for a wonderful owner and have recently been promoted to manager. I always feel bad when stylists and customers have negative things to say about Great Clips because Great Clips is only as good as the people who work there. If you have stylists who are professional in their attitude, dress, and speaking with each other and customers, the experience will be that much better. If stylists are rude, selfish and disrespectful to each other and customers, than their experience will be negative. It's not the fault of Great Clips as a whole if the stylists are not professional enough unless the franchise and management does nothing to change the environment within the stores. I guess what I am trying to say is take a look at yourself. If you are not doing your part to make your salon what it needs to be for customers and stylists to have a positive experience everytime they enter through those doors, then change you attitude or change your job.
i work for great clips and hate my frachisee hes full of empty promises and leading to low low employee moral

I have been going to this business for at least 3 years, I have never had any trouble with anyone here. today, 07/11/09, I visited the Great Clips Hair Salon onRuff Snow referred by a lady I had just met. Her hair cut was cute and I asked her where she got it cut. On my way hom e from a birthday party I stopped in and asked for a hair cut. The lady at the front desk was dressed unprofessionally but I did not think about it at that time. I was assisted by a lady who cut my hair and I really liked it. While paying for my cut a lady was standing beside me purchasing some shampoo. The same lady that was at the counter when I went in was cutting a man's hair at the front chair and rudely came back over to the counter to assist the lady who was helping me and also the lady purchasing the shampoo. I have never heard or seen a person behave so unprofessionally or rudely in a long time. This person also would not smile if it meant her face would crack. Please understand I have worked with the public for many many years and I would not for one minute keep someone who not only embarrassed her employees but also the public. I was going to ask for the manager but found out by asking it was the rude lady. Is there not something you can do to discipline this lady? Surely my complaint is not the only one you have received. If I were your company I would certainly send an unknown member of my staff in to see what was going on. She is very bad for your business. I had never gone to a Great Clips before and believe me, if it were not for the lady that cut my hair, I am sure I would not go in again. I can spend my hard earned money somewhere else. Thank you

rude employee
I recently went into Great Clips hair salon (or should I say BAD Clips). The employee was very rude, aggresive in tone, and quick to cut hair. She (Elizabeth) paid no attention to actually cutting hair, but rather talking with her co-workers, who were complaining of their jobs.
It was very unprofessional and will now be finding a new hair salon.

We hate asking for phone numbers and the dreaded questions of, " "have you been to this location berfore? They get UBER pissed if you ask them. I wish they would ###in write their own stupid info down. Just like the ###in liscense branch. We don't always have a recepionist, so it takes away from our hair cut time. Productivity gets all ###ered up because we are at the stupid front desk checking them in. They need to realize we are are NOT going to stalk them or send them junk mail. Or, Who"s getting a hair cut today? They say, " We are .". Really... Its 8:52 p.m., a blizzard outside, and you wanna come in here and be pissed cuz I have to ask for your phone number? Shut up and sit down so I can whip out your hair cut and get home to my life. We need a receptionist so bad but our owner cant afford it. He is too busy jetting off to florida in his privarte plane.

You are all a bunch of crazy [censored]es... I can tell you what, if one of you overweight ### stand there with that stupid depressed look or fake smile and ask me "Whos getting a hair cut"... Me or anyone else is going to say " I am, he is or she is or we are. Why? because that's the question you asked, If you wanted to know the name of the person getting a haircut, perhaps you should ask the person or people : Hi there, so who is getting a haircut today and could I get your name(s) please. That would answer two questions in one pretty easily, without having to get all frustrated by getting the wrong answer you were already expecting.. Jeezuz... Why be so f*ckn negative. Its hair cutting for god's sake. And besides, 8 out of 10 people who work at Great Clips do a [censored] job not even worth the low price you charge. Face it ladies, you're all just glorified McDonalds Employees. Lesson learned here I hope, shut your cholesterol filled pie hole, get back behind that reception booth, take my "we are" name and enter it into the computer and get cutting the f*ckn hair. Thanks for reading as I enjoyed reading your comments.
I was thinking about getting some from this place and decided it seemed shady, so i looked up some reviews and lone-behold, Every review Iv'e found suggests this place is a scam. My credit card company has phones me before from a place like this, a horrible fireghtful situation I'm sure to avaoid again.
My daughter was working for Great Clips in Canada and just got fired because she was sitting in her car before her shift instead of going inside to count money and set up..They wanted her to set up on her own time...NOT..When she was closing, the till was out by $150 because the computer reset itself so Catherine, , The owner at the Waterdown Ontario location, called my daughter(who has never stolen anything in her life) untrustworthy...SLANDER, , I am very glad that my daughter is no longer working for this dishonest, mismanaged company and even though my daughter doesn`t want to work for them, , we are going to take them to court for wrongful dismissal...This woman REALLY needs to watch what she says because it will come back to bite her in the ###!
Hairqueen must have it cushy. All six locale I have worked for have had this issue...
And Lisa and wussamattu are both right...
safety is important if there is a blizzard outside close the shop and get documented...also make sure if there is no receptionists that there are 2 stylists working this is a corporate policy...if you are ever left alone close the shop and complain to corporate.
haha Great Clips is a ### run company. Don't advise anyone to ever work there. Constant warnings, write-ups... It's SO negative! The managers of this company must really be stupid to push so much negativity on employees. Really, really dumb strategies...
i completely agree with you! I hate asking who's getting the hair cut today and get "we are" "she is" "he is"..what the ### is your name! i'm just gonna type "we are" into the ###ing computer. I hate the customers who roll up in their BMW's and Mercedes then get pissed off at me when their coupon is expired for their already $12!
Well honey, I have to say after being a Hairstylist and Manager for 18 years, you are definitely the reason we get a bad name! I suggest you go to school for something that does not include working with the general public!
bad hair cut
I had requested my hair; vairied in length up to 12 inches; be cut to 4inches all over. Judy cut it down to 2 inches in back. When I got home I found out a coupon was out that day for $9 off. I had told her I had been unemployed for 9 months now and was hoping a haircut would help energize my job hunt. Judy did not mention there was a coupon available.
I emailed a complaint to corporate and recieved a phone call supposedly from them stating that Judy would have been fired if she had mentioned the coupon (I had thought coupons were supposed to drum up business, what else are they for!) and other bs. In other words I am stuck with a way too short hair cut and will never visit a Great Clips again.

price
Client received a haircut on 3/9/09 and stated that she had a coupon for approximately $5.00 discount but did not have the coupon at the time of the visit. Client returned to the salon 2 days later with receipt and 2 unexpired coupons and the manager would not honor/credit money back to the client. Client is very regular (monthly visits to salon) and lack of customer service was very distasteful.

My elderly mother went in for a haircut. They did a shampoo, a cut and a 2 minute blowdry so she didn't go out into the freezing cold with a wet head. They charged $3 for shampoo (fine) tried to charge $14 for the haircut until I asked why she wasn't getting senior price of $12 (fine) and then they had the nerve to charge her $20 for a 2 minute blowdry that incuded no products, no hairspray, no curling or styling. It was ridiculous and made no sense. I had previously taken my kids for a haircut and they didn't charge me for their blowdry! They were trying to rip off an elderly woman. Since they have a "guarantee", I said, there is no "styling" associated with the $20 so I want the money back. They would not give it to her! I am definitely filing a complaint with the better business bureau.
I live in Algonquin, IL & go to the one off E. Algonquin Road and it's a crap shoot going there. They spray water on your face all the time. Please, spray my hair not my face. Did you graduate or are you still in school that you can't aim the water sprayer properly! Not very well trained or monitored. Not good customer service skills.
I guess you get what you pay for!
Dear Client, Im very sorry that happened and you feel cheated. I am a Great Clips Manager and once a coupon is set in our systems from our corporate office, it comes in once the coupons are sent out and also on the day it expires at 12 am it is swiped out of our system. Your home town salon manager was being honest, there is nothing she/he could of done. Very sorry, please try them again.
The coupon should be present as same day when the client received the service. Since he/she visit the salon regular then he/she can use the coupon for next visit. It is not right for a client come back 2 days later or one weeks later to try get a discount.
One mistake for the manager is that should tell the client at the same day while the client mention about the coupon, the coupon only valid at time of service. Even thou the coupon have not expired date. Or the manager could tell the client that he/she can go back get the coupon right there right then.
Since this so called "Regular client" return every month to get the service why can't he/she wait till next time and use the coupon.
Common sense: you going to a restaurant and forgot bring a coupon, you mention to a waitress that you forgot coupon at home, can I still get a discount? What are they going to tell you? Of course they can't do that. The coupon have to be present at time of service. Can you go back 2 days later and ask the manager give you discount for the food you have ate two days ago? That is ridiculous.
Many ppl use the "Regular customer" basis as their "privilege" to get what they want. I don't think that is fair for any type of business.

My usband went to get his hair cut and when he finished he came home and the one side of his hair was cut higher than the other. It looked awful

I worked for the GC in Dundalk. Busiest GC I've EVER worked for...not a shocker that your hubby received a bad haircut..with 2-6 columns of people on the computer screen at all 12 business hours each day, the girls are tired! AND there's a lot of cheap customers that go there. It is Dundalk, hon.
I was told when I worked at Great clips in Wellington Fl. buy a co-worker to just chop their hair and get them out of here as fast as you can. She told me that my hair cuts are fine. I can not just chop someone's hair off in 8 to 10 mins. Great clips actually pays us for the more hair cuts that we can give in an hour. We actually get paid extra to work faster. I was told just dont screw them up by cutting it to short and you will be fine. Swear on my love for my children that I was told that.
does he look like this?
I really do try to do my best. And usually it's pretty good (if I do say so myself)! Unfortunately, I have had to do do-overs since we are to move you all in and out like cattle. If your hubby has cowlicks, he's screwed. Seriously, make friends with a stylist- we work off the GC clock and will do a better job for you in the convenience of your own home...
that's funny...happens all the time...booohooooohooo
yep well that's what happens with the stylists are pressured to do cuts in 13-18 minutes. What do you think you're going to get in such a rush job and cheap cut? Great Clips pressures it's employees so they do ### work. It's not the employee here at fault. It's honestly the company policy itself! It's a horrible company to work for as an artist and customers should know the stylits are under extreme pressure to be fast or face warnings and job threats.
bald is really the way to go.try it.
poor service
My autistic son and I went to Great Clips so he could get a hair cut. He is six years old, and slower to get onto the chair for a hair cut. When he was taking a long time to get on the chair, the MANAGER of the salon who was going to cut his hair said, "Oh hurry up, get up there already!" When I said that his motor skills were slower, she said, well, I just don't want him to fall...then she picked him up under the arms and plopped him down on the chair. Then when she was using clippers, he was motioning that it hurt. Then she said "OH stop complaining, I can tell if it hurts, stop it." When I went up to them, she said to me, "Really it's not hurting him." She was done with the clippers, so I didn't cause a scene and leave right there.
I have noticed this manager being rude to other customers when I have been in there before...I WILL NOT GO AGAIN. WIth the job market so scarce in Michigan, I am surprised someone like that could keep her job.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
employment
This is a employment complaint and a heads up for new and old stylist and barbers what to expect because when you walk away you personally do not feel good about youself...I am going to start with the good. The health benefits are the regular 20/80 not a supplement and they offer other benefits life insurance, different disability insurance and student...

I work for a great clips and our manager gets more redos than us!and also got stylist of the year award, how funny is this?great clips don't care bout your hair, they just want to heard you in there like cattle and get your money, mean while we got so many talented hairdressers in salons trying to stay in bussiness...visit them
Hey JagD54 I hope you get this...
Please go to the Great clips website and email or call the corporate office. You can stay anonymous if you like. Being a former employee of this company, thats the only thing the owners fear is a call from corporate. Otherwise they could care less. Thats the only time they will take action.
I would suggest that pretty much to everybody who has had a bad haircut or bad service to call the corporate office and tell the the location of the store and what exactly happend.
Good luck
