Your hotel staffs collusion with a con man cheats overseas passengers.
We are totally 11 people for the dinner buffet in Zeta@Holiday Inn Bangkok at 6pm on 6-Jan-2020. The con man walked to the welcome table and checked the booking log book directly - he asked me are you Candy Lee. Yes, I am. Then he and one of the female staff served us for changing the sitting area third times by moving tables around to fit us and also he instructed her to bring us drinks while we settled.
At around 6:45pm, he requested us pay cash because we got the promotion offer for the meal and free flow drinks.
After we paid THB8, 000.00 to him, we requested change and the receipt. Of course, he disappeared then we found out this scam.
We asked the help from Duty Manager - Ms. Moddy (she gave us a name card 'Phapichaya Nillit'). She said the restaurant is a public area which is out of their control. Also, she can't help us call the police because they are Thai people, the policeman will not come.
It was ridiculous.
Meantime, she printed the bill and asked us to pay before we go to the police station by ourselves.
Obviously, we were in trap.
So we decided to leave then she called the policemen as came immediately.
In front of us, she talked to the Policemen with Thai language (of course, we don't understand what they discussed).
Finally, she said we don't have to pay and arrange the restaurant Manager - Mr. Khiew went to Police station for confession then we can get the report. By the way, we asked Mr. Khiew where were he while the con man took in charge of his staffs in the restaurant.
He said in dinner, doubtful point.
In the restaurant, there is no privacy that all people can see the booking log book. Policemen and Mr. Khiew also said they knew certain of this kind of cases in Bangkok Hotel these days.

We strongly request to get our money back.

I insisted your organization check and investigate what happen at all.
