service/sales
Huntington is a terrible bank. Terrible service. The staff is ignorant. Ask questions and they do not know answers. Instead, they try to cover up their ignorance by attempting to cross-sell something to you. I has an employee tell me that she is constantly afraid of losing her job unless she meets her goals. My niece's friend works there and hates it, but it is a job for now. She said that one manager was recently fired for some "unethical" behavior regarding opening up accounts for her family because she was so desperate and afraid of being short on her goals. There is so much pressure on the staff. What happened to service? STAY AWAY!

auto and banking fraud
The president and CEO of Huntington National Bank, Stephen Steinour phone number [protected], does not have the ability to hire fraud investigators to stop fraudulent and predatory lending practices. His phone calls and e-mails go un-answered when I was demanding answers as to why they allowed me to be involved in a fraudulent loan and then demanded the $28.000.00 to be paid back from the dealership and leave me hung out to dry. They sent me a letter stating that Midway Chevrolet was now the lien holder and told me to deal with them directly. Nice that they stuck by their client! Huntington also kept my car payments and they were paid back more than what the loan amount was for by the dealership. They never even returned the payments to myself or gave them to the dealership. Jackie Yochus the fraud investigator was only aware of what happened because of the help of a consumer advocate and I, sadly we are better at her job than she is. I am wondering why anyone that is an investor at this bank would want to trust their hard earned money in a place that allows these things to happen. The only thing they had to do was call me and verify my job and income and this would have never have happened at all, because the dealership lied about those things and much more. The bank also didn’t verify that I was even the actual owner of the trade in, I was not. The list is endless of the stupidity of this bank and the people they have watching out for their investor’s hard earned money. Get out now if you can, with all the banks failing there is no better time. These fraudulent auto loans are the same as what took down the mortgage industry and closed banks, by lying and getting people into loans they knew they couldn’t afford.

mortgage modification
I applied for a home Modification in Feb 09 due to lack of work and being unemployed from the automotive industry. A hardship and was told I qualified for the modification. I provided all papers need: unemployment stubs, bank statements, and all other expenses. I was told it could take up to three months to process, therefore after three months I began calling the office to check on the my status and I never receive any calls backs after leaving several messages from April to July. In August I sent a letter to the corp. office in collections dpt. with dates and time the several calls I have made. Two weeks later I received a call back from Jessica Nechovski asking for additional information the next call from Jessica was Sept 8th she said I did not qualify because I was on unemployment and I needed to get a regular job. One week later my unemployment ran out and I began working in my past professional as a Cosmetologist for JcPenney salon, making much less than my unemployment. I have been to other agencies for help with this matter and have been told I was able to receive a modification during the initial start of my hardship and unemployment. Huntington National Bank has gave me a complete run around for the past 8 months and would not even take partial weekly payments to total my monthly payment by the end of each month. Other employees who have also been affected my Delphi's downsizing are with other banks and was not even able to receiving unemployment as income nor were they employed and have been able to get Home Modifications. Huntington Bank has refused to work with me to save my home and should be force to comply to the making homes affordable for all with hardships at this time in our depression.

Failure to satisfy customer dispute. I've been a client since Huntington acquired Sky Bank. During that time, over a decade, I've only disputed two card charges. In both, I provided ample evidence of the fraudulent charges, Huntington sided with the business. In the second dispute against Dish, I must add, after contacted Dish Corporate they agreed and refunded my money. AWFUL! Huntington has failed me. NOW just recently a garnishment went through & approved by Huntington even though my funds are nearly entirely VETERANS DISABILITY! Which is ILLEGAL! Again Huntington failed me worse failed a DISABLED VETERAN! Disgusting, repulsive and a slap in the face of veteran. If these funds are not returned further complaints will be made in various government complaint agencies federal & state as well BBB and social media. I will also be engaged in seeking legal council if needed about this matter. This is potentially the third unacceptable failure, remedy it before I engage in or consider the aforementioned actions. I expect a favorable response within 5 business days.
During the month of December I had been in the hospital regarding my service connected disability, I have not been able to address this matter until now. I have been a client with you for decades but I am now beginning to believe you do not have your client's best interests at heart. I would like avoid any further actions and even continue to do banking with Huntington, however this may likely be the last chance for your bank to redeem your credibility with me I'm sorry to say.
I am frustrated because I cannot post my name and contact info here so I will give you clues to find me. The garnishment on 12-27-16 was in the amount of $1, 766.31 along with another draw shown as a legal entry of $75 and was taken out of an account known as a business account (rarely used as a business account). I routinely move the majority of my funds into that account to leave minimal funds in the personal account to minimize debit card fraud risk. The disability income is 1062.27 deposited on Dec 30 in my personal account. Both accounts are shown the same with my name, the business is shown as my name with the same home address in Youngstown Ohio 44509. Both accounts are under my social security number (no EIN for the business account). You will notice that the garnishment was well over the monthly disability amount. It is illegal to garnish disability income and appalling that you chose to take 173% of my disability income, a shameful embarrassment on your part.
PLEASE locate me based on the clues shown above and remedy this problem and contact me. As I said I do not wish to go any further if this is remedied within 5 business days ending Jan 13 2017.
Sincerely, distressed disabled veteran
I have been living e Huntington nightmare for 4 years now...tried for loan modification & they kept losing my paperwork. Then we would recieve a letter one day that would say "help is available for you" and the next day we would get another letter saying there was no help available. Finally, they filed the foreclosure & we went through mediation trying for a deed in-lieu of foreclosure. After a year waiting for an answer on that, the answer was NO! In the interim, I received a cash offer on my house. The buyer was willing to pay what was owed, less penalties. We couldn't get an answer from Huntington or their attorneys on the amount owed so the buyer got frustrated and purchase something else. My attorney advised me to just let the foreclosure go through because banks were not coming after people for deficiency judgments so we did...Now, Huntington's attorneys ARE coming after us for the deficiency and are threatening wage garnishment. They already garnished my checking account in the amount of $2800 which I had set aside for rent, diabetes medications & school supplies for my kids. Can't seem to get assistance from ANYONE...not even the attorney I paid to represent me! We tried to do what was right to lessen the hardship on Huntington Bank due to my loss in income but, learn from my mistake...File Chapter 7 bankruptcy so they cannot come after you. We didn't want to file bankruptcy & wanted to make good on our debts but now we are getting screwed even though we tried to do things the right & ethical way!
Hunington pulls this kind of crap with people. After my son had surgery, we were whiped out from medical bills. WQe called Hunington on the first of Dec. to see if we could make an interest only payment. They offered to skip our house payment for Dec. then divide it up into 6 payments to be added onto our bill for the next 6 mths. They sent an agreement, which we signed and sent back the next day. 2 mths later, we find a card on our door to call them. We called, they supposedly couldn't find the agreementwe sent. Said we defaulted on it, all but called us liars, were very rude, THEN we find out that you are considered late the whole 6 mths. They report it to the credit bureaus, and send a guy to take pics of your house every 45 days during the entire 6 mths. at our expense. They wanted 2 house payments immediately and threatened foreclosure. They pretend to help, then screw you big time.
After losing my job I applied for a modified home loan. I was told being unemployed counted. My loan was also interest only and 40g in the hole. After 6 months and tons of paperwork I was told being on unemployment I do not count and that I need a job now. Now I"m back in school to finish my prereqs to get into the R.N program. Plus there is still no LVN jobs within an hours distance hiring now. I will file a complaint. Any advice please email boxersrule2008@yahoo.com I am a single mom with 3 boys and one is disabled. I've lived her almost 4 years and put money into the house. New carpet, door, bay window, etc.
I was told I qualified for a BofA home modification due to being unemployed also I have an interest only loan and am currently over 40g upside down. After 6 most they call and deny me saying I am disqualified due to unemployment. I thought Obama passed laws to fix the interest only loans. This is extremely depressing. I had my house for 4 years and put money into it. Now I will have to rent, forclose...Any advice email boxersrule2008@yahoo.com
I have a mortgage and escrow account with huntington and they seemed to forget to pay my winter taxes that are no delinquent and added late charges etc. Huntington is investigating but wont have a answer until around April 12th. In the meantime I could have a lean out on my property etc. They really really messed up my mortgage and for some reason increased my escrow account by 300.00 a month even though my property taxes went down. It made my payment so high I cant afford it, I think they are trying to put me into foreclosure
They're doing it to me right now! I never signed papers...didnt even receive any papers! It took them 6 months to agree to temp loan modification...all the while they would accept monthly pyts...now they tell me the pyts i made under temp loan modification are not house payments! a week later got letter of foreclosure from attys! on 7 28 i received a third letter from huntington offering assistance to me! the post mark date was 7/28 the letter was dated june 8th. what a freaking joke! They told me also unemployment doesnt count as income! let me tell you that is against the law...I'm filing a complaint w/fannie mae & the dept of commerce...dept of commerce has the form on their website & you can email it back...everyone who's had this done to them needs to file a complaint. this is BULLSH$%!
Huntington has done the exact same thing with me.
Only her name was Maragret Hunt.
These people could care less about those of us hurting.
I was disabled, and live on a fixed income.
Yet they want their payment now.
Scam charges
I had an unauthorized charge on my checking account. By the time I realized what happened my account was losing money by the minute. I notified the company that put the charge through and my bank. I was told to go to the nearest office and file a dispute. When I arrived the charge was credited back to my account and I was left with about $500 in fees. The banking office told me to drive 45 minutes to the office I opened my account at and they would take care of the fees. When I arived there Mark at 9th Euclid office gave me the run around stating that I was making deposits in my account after the money was taken out. It does not matter, if you put money in your account the money should be there when you want to use it, whether it's a day or a year. Now I was robbed electronically and Huntington Bank does not what to protect a customer that has had this account since 1984.

I just found two withdrawls from Huntington National Bank on my account totalling $65.00. I don't have any kind of relationsip with this bank and I am pissed! I have called my own bank and they are stopping payments and looking into this, but it still doesn't make this OK. I have fees now and I am willing to bet HNB doesn't pay those back to me. Who the hell are these people and how did they get my info?
refinance rip-off
Was told by Huntington Bank mortgage officer that our application for a refinance was "approved"-paid for appraisal-submitted all paperwork. For 5 months loan officer assured us it was ok. After the 1st 90 days we had to "resign" papers as we were told the government changed the application. That was when I saw the "closing costs" had climbed to $8000 on a $135, 000 loan! Huntington had me open a checking account to "direct pay" the loan. I never signed papers or put money into the account but they charged me $100 "overdraft"-they called my homeowners insurance company and cx my policy and said they "now hold the note' but they never did-I had to pay late fee to re-instate the insurance. I have repeatedly requested the appraisal that I paid for but they will not give it to me or answer my calls or letters.
They turned me down for being "30 days late" when it was a"pass a payment" at their bank and THEY APPROVED IT!
Stay away-so unprofessional. The title company doing the work called me after 60 days and told me the loan officer "forgot to order the appraisal" after I gave them $300. The appraiser was a close friend of the loan officer-bank teller who opened checking was a friend and the insurance company was associated with them also. It is a shame our government gives these banks our money and they hoard it-may they "rot in hell"!

exorbitant penalties
It was like they whipped my daughter!
First incident - out of town... Over draft by 6.00 $ 165.00 dollars in fees. Upon communication.. Too bad, company policy. So I moved all six accounts including 2 business accounts. But I forgot to move my high school daughters account. Well, we shall see!
Second incident - 4/3/09 daughter overdrafts account by 1.00 with movie from red box - thought she was ok. By the time we are notified (3rd day mail) over $ 2 5 0.00 in fees. Are you kidding me! Upon direct meeting with rep - reduced to 120.00 she only makes 99.00 per week part time. This was not a lesson - this was a whipping!

I want to start by saying that over all I really like Huntington bank, but there is one branch on the East Beltline in Grand Rapids that wins the award for the worst bank branch in the world. I dont have a acct. there but my wife does so sometimes she writes me a check and i will cash it. All the other branches have given me perfect customer service. I have...

I provided the necessary paperwork and accepted the terms and agreed for the appraisal of the investment property. I had and appraial May 2008 ($131, 000.00) thru another bank. The city of...
