Excessive oil consumption
My 2018 Hyundai Santa fe is using a quart of oil every 1000 miles, so we started the oil consumption test required by Hyundai with an $80 oil change at El Paso Hyundai, I was told to return in a 1000 miles, I was at 975 miles and called for time to come by for a level reading and was told I had to have an appointment! Appointment was made for the following Monday June13 2022 at 8 am...
7 days later I showed up a 7:30 am only to be told to bad I was over 300 miles... Then told it had to be started again! Needed to do an oil change again at a cost of $80 bucks!
They are the ones that pushed out the appointment to check the level of the oil, a 2 minute thing...
Research shows Hyundai is having problems with this engine and shows they are fighting the problem!
Lesson learned do not buy a Hyundai, fight for appointments and document everything!
Desired outcome: Fix the the problem on my 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe with 67,000 miles and take care of your customers instead of giving them a run around....

Dealership leaving my family unsafe
My car went to Heritage Hyundai for a simple door getting stuck issue. There was nothing mechanically wrong with my car. Since it was covered under warranty I made an appointment at the local dealership. While they were making my appointment they noticed I had 2 recalls so they were going to schedule those as well. Lets just say they did not fix any of them and when I pulled off the dealership my engine blew up with my kids in the car. Again, there was nothing wrong with my car. They never did the service because they forgot to cancel the appointment since they did not have the parts. The fuse recall they did not do because they did not have the parts and the software update they did not finish because they drained my battery during the process . The update required them to hook up to a jump box which they did not so I had to buy a new battery. My check engine light was on when I got my car back with no service completed and I asked why was it on. They said to me that it was on because they did not finish the update so he cleared the car. I do not work on cars so I thought that would have been correct. I thought that they would not leave me unsafe. Well needless to say the light came right back on and my engine blew up with my kids in the car. No one at the dealership will answer Hyundai USA. What kind of dealership does not return calls from Hyundai? Terrible customer service but even worse is my kids safety was not a priority.
delivery promise
I purchased a vehicle on 5/14/22 that was supposed to be delivered to dealer on 5/15/22. It is now 6/2/22 and no one knows where this car might be? I find this hard to believe. If I was going to wait a month, I could have ordered directly from the factory and gotten the color that I wanted and not just settled for the color that the dealer had coming in, in " a day or two". Ridiculous. Every day there is an update on the delivery date to the "next day". Seriously this car was made in the USA and should have been here way before now. And I will NOT do another credit report as it is not my fault that this car is not there within 30 days
Desired outcome: I want my car in the next few days. This is ridiculous
2016 Santa Fe Sport Dead Engine Less Than 70,000 Miles :$10,000 To Replace
I bought a 2016 Santa Fe Sport with about 36,000 miles on it in 2018 from Ken Garff Used In SLC, UT. On Friday 5/24/2022 the vehicle went into a "limp mode", then the engine died and would not restart. The engine(GDI Theta II) only has less than 70,000 miles on it. I had the vehicle towed to a repair place on Saturday 5/25/22, they pulled the codes P1326, which is the service code for either ECU needs to be updated so that excessive wear on the connecting rod bearings does not cause the vehicle to stop completely, all of a sudden, or the engine needs to be replaced. If one looks up the code P1326, you will see hundreds of articles about past problems and recalls on this engine along with :GDi Theta, Gamma, and Nu engine styles. Most are about excessive pre-mature wear on connecting rod bearings. I wish I had know about the lawsuit Hyundai was in in 2020 about 2011 and 2012 GDI Theta engines that had debris from the manufacturing process that wasn't recalled in a timely manner. If I had known then, 2018, what I know now, I wouldn't touched a Hyundai or Kia with a 20 foot pole. I am very disappointed with Hyundai, and will tell anyone considering a Hyundai or Kia to stay well away from any of them. Now I guess there is a recall on some Hyundai's that catch on fire. I guess I should count myself lucky, at least my vehicle didn't start on fire. The really bad thing about all this is we still owe 3 yrs on the damned thing, and all the dealer that we bought the car from can say is, "You should have bought the extended warranty" If I had wanted to pay even more than the outrageous payment of $485/mo for 6 years and added the warranty that would have been grand. But all the used vehicles I have bought in the past whether they cost $300 or $3000 all lasted more than a paltry 70,000 miles. On top of all this the transmission is shifting really hard at about 10mph. That is after I spent $700.00 for PM about 6 mo ago.
Desired outcome: No idea. Nothing at this point will help.
Please take the vehicle to have it inspected with your own mechanic
How does a vehicle with only 52k miles on currently is sitting at a Volkswagen dealership with a blown transmission?
How does a dealership sell a vehicle with a rusted bolt on a oil pan? ( I discovered that when I had the oil changed) I paid for that as well after the purchase..
How does a dealership sell a vehicle with the sway bar link that’s literally broken!
Having a rusted oil pan bolt and a broken sway bar link will prevent a reputable dealership from listing the vehicle for sale until those items are repaired. These two items listed are vital when determining the safety of the vehicle and will not pass the safety inspections that dealership do before the vehicle goes to the front line. However at Bramen Hyundai they will put any vehicle for sale whether it passes a safety inspection or not. Now 4 months later the transmission blows?
Folks be careful buying a vehicle from this shady dealership that will not stand by its product.
By far the worst car experience i ever had. I advise anyone that purchases a used vehicle from these guys to take it to a mechanic and have it fully checked. I was sold this vehicle with major front end issues. I was not advised of any major issues mechanically and being in the business I know every dealership will put the vehicles through a safety check what that means is the vehicle is checked for any major issues that can deem the car unsafe and whether it was intentional or just a oversight the car is deemed unsafe. The vehicle has major front end issues that I was not made aware of at the time of Purchae. Do I have any faith that they will step up and take care of this matter professionally no I do not. I will update the review once I speak with the attorney and if they even bother calling me or try to rectify this problem.
ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS ANYONE PURCHASING A VEHICLE FROM THESE GUYS PLEASE BE EXTRA CAREFUL.
TCU update - Tuscon 2.0L hesitation at acceleration
My Hyundai Tuscon 2016 is in the bulletin for recall.
I called about that but they said no recall.
I have the print out explained it’s recall from Hyundai bulletin.
When I called about that, They said no recall for my car model. It’s bulletin from Hyundai company
The recall is for TCU update - Tuscon 2.0L Hesitationbat Acceleration. I attached the recall on this complaint.
Been calling since 2 days ago, the customer service name Keith said will tell the service area/manager, but no return the call at all from the service.
Is it because not make money for the recall if they fix it ? But if for the service that we have to pay a service, they will right away handle it answer and return the call.
Can someone take care about this ?
My 2014 hyundai elantra gt engine
In January of this year my engine failed and was taken to piazza hyundai in west chester pa. I just got it back this month. Today 5/9/22 I was driving to work and the engine light came on and car started to hesitate. I am beyond upset and angry with the service from Hyundai. Now I have to have it towed again and see what is wrong now with it. I am dissatisfied with Hyundai. I never got a loaner car or was I ever offered one. This is not good customer service since I have been inconvienced for months now Its happening again to my car. Please reply to my concern. ty
2022 hyundai sonata new purchase.
I started having problems after I bought this car from Humble Hyundai the car was shaking when applying brakes and while driving, I took it to the dealership they claim they couldn't find anything. So, I took it to North Freeway Hyundai same results on the second time I went to North Freeway Hyundai I was told my brakes needs resurfacing and alignment I stated this car is still under warranty they were trying to get me to pay for warranty work. I contacted Hyundai Customer Care and trying to get this resolved I was told the service advisor should have done the work because the car was still under warranty. I was told to contact the service manager at the dealership, but he refused to return my call. Next, I filed a complaint with the BBB Autoline Claim Division and was asked to send in all kinds of paperwork of which I did now I called twice and getting no response from them. If I would have known this is how Hyundai was, I would have never brought this car from them bad customer service!
Desired outcome: Either repair everything that is wrong with the vehicle or file it under Texas Lemon Law.
I have a Tucson 2013 That I bought in 2016 from a Hyndai dealer and a warranty.
Last March 2021 after my driving home from school for a weekend my Daughter was left stranded on the highway at night because the car died. Little did we know that would be the start of our over a year nightmare. To this day the car is still broken and at the dealer. It started off with waiting weeks to even hear if the parts could be ordered at the end of May 2021 I filed a claim with Hyundai America because the dealer was very slow and not really even doing anything but telling us to wait for info parts, etc. Finally when they got us the car back it was and to this day is not working properly. They have changed the engine, Fuel injector, and a few other parts and still the car is stalling. They returned it to us 3 times and we have had to take it back. Our first case manager called me every week for updates and he was very nice but still no one knows what could be wrong with this car. We have now been told they are taking everything back apart and it will take a few more weeks. The dealer keeps suggesting I should trade it in but only finds other options for me that will double my payments and that is not doable for me at this time. They obliviously do not care or make this a priority. They supposedly called a specialist and still nothing is resolved. In the meanwhile it is probably sitting on a patio rusting thru and not being cared for at all.
Desired outcome: Please find somebody that can fix my car and make sure it is safe for my daughter to drive at least until we can finish paying for it. My case number is [protected] , 2013 , Tucson , VIN ending in 4DU654559
engine knock
I have a certified pre-owned 2016 Santa Fe and bought an extended bumper to bumper warranty , bought it used with approx. 35K miles. It now has 79K and engine started to knock, took it in and have had nothing but hassles because Hyundai refuses to pay for repairs (this is the engine that they have known issues with). When I bought it they said being certified is the same as buying brand new, apparently not since i'm the second owner it falls under under a different warranty. Now dealer has to pull pan to take pictures to send in to second warranty if they reject it they will try my extended warranty. All i can say is i am totally disappointed with Hyundai, I have bought six vehicles from them and sent a lot of business their way and this is the thanks I get for being a loyal customer.
Desired outcome: Fix a known issue especially when i still have warranty.
Recall
I bought a Hyundai sonata sport 2017 had under 60000 on it when I bought it had an engine recall went through 4 months of going back-and-forth with Hyundai for oil consumption test come to find out if you were not the original owner you do not get the warranty up to a 100000 miles you only get 60000 miles now instead of paying for my whole engine to be replaced they are coming at me for 15% when that's not what I was told When I bought this car so now I have to pay out of pocket for a recall and Hyundai never brought this to my attention when I bought the car they lied about it make sure you question and check your paperwork and warranty status because this will happen to you
Desired outcome: Would have preferred if they covered it 100% like they said
Poor repair during recall cost me money
I received a notice that there was a recall on my Santa Fe and took it to Hyundai to resolve the issue. After several months (small leak that had to leak enough to be noticed on my garage floor) I found oil on my garage floor. The leak was very small and depending on the amount of driving another drop may or may not show up due to the wind blowing the oil around the engine compartment. I took it to my mechanic, which spent hours cleaning the engine due to the splattering of oil. It was finally discovered that the recall and replacement of my valve cover gasket was poorly done, causing the leak. And now Hyundai denies any responsibility!
My case was just closed several days short of a year while having to deal with Hyundai's mistakes.
I followed Hyundai's instructions for their "Campaign" reimbursement program, only to have claims closed without noticing me and being lied to through emails.
Desired outcome: Pay me the cost to repair the leak caused by a poorly repaired recall done by Hyundai!
New vehicle dealership market adjustments over MSRP.
Shopping around for the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz AWD Limited. I've contacted several dealerships in Florida and everyone so far have either added market adjustments of 2k to 9k over MSRP or they're adding package and forcing customers to pay inflated price or no deal. Jenkins Hyundai of Leesburg FL is the worse. And so is Hyundai of Fort Meyers. They're adding things that are already standard with the limited trim. I've never paid more then MSRP and I've never owned a Hyundai before. I'm hoping this price gouging is stopped so I can buy my first Hyundai Santa Cruz AWD Limited ASAP.
Desired outcome: 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz AWD Limited SAV at MSRP with military discount. Special low interest rate financing since waiting for ordered vehicle has caused me to miss the special zero percent financing.
2022 hyundai i10 1.2
To whom it may concern,
I purchased a new i10 1.2 cash on Christmas 2021. Since taking delivery there has been one problem after another with the vehicle such as:
- water was coming into headlamps
- radio reception wasn't working
- vehicle was pulling to left
- factory paint smudge on rear right fender panel
I took the vehicle several times into your dealership and workshops to have items fixed. After 5 visits by your salesmen, workshop and dealership the list has not get any better.
- There is now rattles in the dash and the boot as they replaced the aerial of the vehicle and panels had to be removed etc.
They swapped the front wheels around now the vehicle seems to be pulling to the right
- No feedback e the factory paint smudge
- on one of the visits to your workshop the vehicle was washed and the vehicle came back with a 15cm hairline scratch on the bonnet which has also just been ignored once the sales men tried to polish it out. I requested some more polish to continue regular buffin and it fell on deaf ears.
There has not been any follow up from your dealership (Amanzimtoti/WarnerBeach) or your workshop to find out if everything is 100%.
I bought another I10 from the same dealership earlier in 2021 a 2nd hand vehicle. It also went into your workshop for some items to be fixed and came out with damage to the door which had to be repaired.
IT is hugely inconvenient to keep driving up and down to your workshop and dealership trying to sort out which should have been sorted out with one visit. This vehicle has less than 3000km on the clack and i dont want it anymore as it has caused such unhappiness and to add to it the non care attitude from Hyundai.'
Please can you advise how this can be resolved and do not tell me to book my vehicle into your workshop again.
SIncerely

Sold faulty parts
Hiley Hyundai in Fort Worth sold us (4) tire sensors on 7/9/21. I took them to Maui on 7/9/21 and had Jim Falk Hyundai install them on 7/12/21 (logistics on Maui can be difficult). On the way home the sensor light came on and I had to go back in the next few days 7/16/21 and found 2 of the OEM brand new sensors were bad. I had to PAY to have the repair work done. I had Jim Falk Hyundai write me an email explaining about the bad parts we found. I was told to contact Hyundai corp by Hiley Hyundai for warranty claims. That was July of 2021 which I did and submitted all receipts. Today is 3/26/22 and they are still asking for more unnecessary and non-relevant info/docs. I tried to sue them in small claims and they dodged the process server. We are out over $700 and they continue to stonewall me. HORRIBLE COMPANY. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I was told to "write a letter to the legal department" which I did 11/22/21 and again on 2/26/22 and never received any answer. NOTHING. NADA. CRICKETS.
Desired outcome: Pay for their debts piling up due to their faulty parts. BE RESPONSIBLE
Paint coming off the car
I have a 2013 Hyundai Sonata and back on February 28 I noticed that a large piece of paint came off the trunk lid of my car. I called Hyundai and was given a claim number [protected] and brought my car to the dealer. The service manager and the head of their collision department looked at the car and sent pictures to Hyundai. Hyundai denied the good will claim. Today 03/14/2022 I noticed that more pain was peeling off of the trunk. This is the only area of the car with a paint problem.
While on the phone with customer service on 02/28/2022 he had said that there had been complaints about the white paint.
Desired outcome: I would like the trunk lid to be repainted
Pre owned car sales department milnerton branch
My family was in a process of buying a used car and we were referred to contact via WhatsApp to Bavuyile Ntanga. He showed us a Hyundai i10 motion which we liked and on the 14th Feb 2022 I signed an offer to purchase (See attached). We then agreed that a deposit should be paid whilst we were waiting for my savings money to clear so I paid R3000 towards deposit, at this time he also sent me an invoice for the car (See attached). He said that the deposit and the signing of offer to purchase was an assurance that the car was now mine and they will be taking it out of the floor. The OTP according to my understanding was signed by myself on the 14 Feb and I sent it for signature to both Bavuyile and Sales Manager. Still on the 14th I received an email from Hyundai congratulating me on the purchase of the car, surely in my mind the OTP was signed and all was well just waiting for final payment. The agreement was that end of the month and also when the funds clear on myside we would conclude payment and arrange to pick up the car.
Yesterday I was called by the sales Mananger Siviwe Ndubela telling me that they will not be giving us the car anymore. Because the car was a trade in from his friend who was declined finance therefore they have to give the car back to his friend.
Obviously I was not happy with this and I told him straight out that I expect the deal to go through as per agreement. And my position remains still today, Hyundai must fulfill their promise of delivering the car as per the agreed spec as per the offer to purchase.
When we spoke to the sales rep there were no conditions mentioned to us therefore the trade-in that did not go through should not by any way be our problem. Secondly, upon speaking to the sales manager he showed no sense of accountability in fact he only called to tell me what is going to happen, no apology none. Furthermore, at the time were speaking he only said that he can refund our deposit, is that the way Hyundai treats its clientele or are we just the not soo important ones to get this kind of treatment. Thirdly I find it strange that Hyundai would put on the floor a car that is a trade in and the deal for the other guy has not gone through. Lastly the sales rep assured us that the car was ours, I have all the communication on WhatsApp he even came to my place of work to show me the car, Moreover the Hyundai CMS system sent me a congratulations for the purchase of the car, clearly this was more than enough for me to believe that all is well. I believe on our side as the loyal customers of the Hyundai brand we did everything we could to show commitment in this purchase and we should not be put through under this unnecessary stress for the mistake of the dealer it is a big inconvenience on our side.
After a series of calls from yesterday we could not get a suitable solution, so this morning I emailed the Dealer Principal Mr Stuart Neame, who also just like the sales manager did not at all care to apologize for their mistake. But rather reiterated the trade in story and that they can refund our deposit.
We have already done our background check and we know that the car is registered to Hyundai Automotive, therefore the story about the trade in is a complete lie.
Therefore we are requesting an immediate intervention in this situation from you as head office. As clients of the Hyundai brand we should not be treated like this, it is totally unacceptable.
We want the car that was presented to us as per the spec
Desired outcome: Car that we were promised as per spec or better car on the current terms and price
Delay in delivery of vehicle (elantra)
I, Malik Muhammad Fiaz booked a car (Elantra) as on 29th November 2021 with Delivery month as December 2021 vide PBO #CLHR40005632.
2. I waited the whole December but car Delivery was not told that white color is short with the company so car will be delivered in January 2022.
3. The wait goes on till 24th of January 2022 when new prices were announced by the company and people who were waiting for the cars since December 2021, were asked to deposit the differential FED amount which is applicable after the implementation of mini budget.
4. My question is why I should pay the incremental amount against December month allocation when Delivery was delayed on part of the manufacturer.
5. Hyundai Nishat Motor is required to arrange my vehicle pending Delivery on existing arrangements without further any amount and delay.
Regards,
Malik Muhammad Fiaz
