The car, while on warranty had engine failure which resulted on the old engine been replaced by the company. This happened somewhere in march 2022 last year. On the New engine I did about 20 000 km. Fast forward.
I took the car for 90 000km service to the garage. I was told that the engine was leaking oil due to samp problems. They quoted me and i was given a bill to settle later which I didn't have a problem of paying.
I send numerous complain via email about this new problem I am having to the service manager and customer service at Hyundai. The problem was refereed to Hyundai Centurion for them to handle the mater.
This is a response from Hyundai:
"As explained to you by customer care as well as the service advisor, the 3 year warranty on parts are only applicable if you paid for the parts.
Any parts replaced on your vehicle while still under the factory warranty, do not have a 3 year warranty. Those parts warranty runs in concurrence with the factory warranty.
This means that the warranty any part that gets replaced, elapses when the vehicles warranty expires.
For this reason, you are being quoted on the repair, as we cannot claim against the original vehicle warranty as it has expired.""
We all know that Hyundai is backed by 3 years guaranteed from the genuine parts that are being fitted, T&C applies. Maybe, the statement has dual meaning on parts?
Claimed loss: Trust
Desired outcome: Witten apology and emphasize best practice on service.
