To Whom It May Concern
Intec keeps saying we pride our self to be the South African Leader in Distance Learning, however I am yet to experience this, I am in my second year of a Higher Diploma Course and just have endless battles and disappointment from Intec.
Let me start with saying the Covid19 Pandemic has affected the world globally not just Intec as you staff is making out in my numerous emails and numerous calls to Intec that I have had to make at my expense.
Yes I do not life and work in South Africa, I life and work in Mocambique and have no other option as work is just not available everywhere anymore you have to go where there is work, but that is why you are a Distance Learning institution and I enrolled with Intec, well supposed to be anyway.
1. My 1st year as a student was not a good experience I had to make contact with DHET just to get my results from 2019 and enrol for 2020 due to the lack of support provided by Intec.
2. Due to the lack of support from Intec and the search for 3 months to find my payment made for the full year I had to start my 2nd year late in April 2020.
3. I have 4 Subjects this year and have been sending assignments since April 2020 and yet up until today I am to receive any information on it whether it be results, yes we finally found your email of submission, or even get an update on my Student Portal, but no nothing from Intec.
4. I have enrolled for June Exams and made the full payment of R1800 for my 4 Subjects and now again I must re-register for November Exams, how is this possible, what have you done with my funds already paid, and why do you send me an email saying you are en-rolled and now it is a different story.
Once the pandemic has taken affect on the borders for SA and Mocambique I have had numerous conversations via telephone and email to your team and was assured there is measures in place don't stress about writing exams etc now I get these forms telling me if I am more than 150km away I must request a private invigilator at R750 per subject that is an additional R3000 you want from me and Intec will decide if that person gets approved or not and will courier my exam papers, when I called I am given to options pay it or option 2 come back to SA otherwise you don't write exams.
Please tell me how do you justify all of this.
1. How are you planning on approving a private invigilator in another country if I am giving you a person to use.
2. Why must I pay for a private invigilator if again I give you a person to use.
3. How are you planning on sending exam papers to Mocambique if the borders are closed and only Cargo is allowed, look at your own SA Gazette it is made very clear, as well as the Mocambique Gazette.
4. How do you justify R750 per subject for payment of this private invigilator service but people in SA can pay R250, and why are you robbing them as well for this service is it our fault that the pandemic is here, is the schools charging students anything extra, no not one educational institution in any country for that matter is charging this crazy amounts of money.
Your team has made is clear to me if you don't like it and don't want to pay then come back to SA, do you have any idea what this process for repatriation is like and do you know it is only for medical reasons not exams so how am I going to get it approved.
Furthermore I have four different exam dates 31/10 and 28/11 and 05/12 and 12/12 and I must do 10-14 days quarantine for each time entering and exiting SA or Moz if I even get approved by both consulate, I must pay for accommodation on the SA side and eat meals every day do you know the costs involved in this, I have a family and a full time job that I will loose if I request repatriation as no employer in the world will give me so must days leave or time off, why can the documents not be emailed to my invigilator chosen and completed exam sent back the same way like we do with assignments.

Time wasted with supply of software which is no longer supported + not informing students about situation / refund lead time for deregistration
I, Malinda Gentle, student no [protected], informed Intec College via email on 11 September 2020 that I am cancelling my enrolled course, Certificate AutoCAD Level 4 [protected] and demand a full refund for the course fees. Until to date I have received no response, feedback or confirmation of receiving this email. I had to contact them again on 18 September 2020 to confirm they received my email. It was explained to me that the procedure for deregistration takes 2-3 working weeks for reviewing and consideration, before the outcome will be send via email and a 90 days waiting period for refund to be done if any.
The reasons for my cancellation are based on the lack of communication/response/feedback from Intec's side and the fact that there is no access to persons in higher authority. You hit a dead end at support. Further more they are fully aware AutoCAD 2017 is no longer supported by Autodesk and are considering AutoCAD 2019, but did not inform the students. Even after my numerous enquiries for my software & text book no one has contacted me to inform me of the problem.
Taking in consideration the havoc Covid-19 has caused, I have been very patient, but 2 and a ½ months has passed since I enrolled and went through much trouble and expenses to follow up on progress. As an Institution for distant learning I cannot think that covid-19 should have had any effect on the service they provide. To my disappointment of Intec College, the response and feedback was non-existing. It is with great regret to say this was the worst customer care / student support I've ever experienced. Intec College is not living up to their promises as advertised and no one takes responsibility.
As a single mother of two children I enrolled to get a qualification in order to generate an extra income and improve my financial situation. Due to the negligence of Intec College, I was not able to proceed with my course and was set back on my timeline, with no way of recovering it. On top of that I had to realize that the AutoCAD/study material/student support departments do not realize the importance of being up to date with software and wastes more time with sending irrelevant software with no use. I am a part time student with no time or money to waste. This type of treatment is unprofessional and unacceptable.
As a client I feel it is within my rights to lay a complaint, cancel my course and request a full refund. What grieves me is the waiting period for the refund, because I need the money to be able to pay another institute as soon as I enroll. Now I have to loose an indefinite period of time and most probably money, for which I am not accountable.
Herewith the incidents:
For registration discount, I enrolled and paid the full amount of R13 988.00 on 28/06/2020.
I registered on the student portal as per instruction received.
Thereafter, I received a confirmation of a registration letter dated 17/07/2020.
As per AutoCAD study guide I10065363-E1, I created my account on the Autodesk website.
On 14/07/2020, I sent my first email enquiring how and when I will be receiving my software and textbook.
On 15/07/2020 I received a confirmation that a request has been forwarded to the relevant department. I received a sms with Case number [protected].
17/07/2020 I phoned student support on [protected] and asked the same question. I was informed a request will be submitted on my behalf.
On 22/07/2020 I sent an email to follow on my enquiry, because I received no feedback regarding this.
On 07/08/2020 I phoned student support again to confirm progress. I was then informed, for the first time delivery takes place within 21 working days from registration date 07/07/2020, but no clear confirmation could be given on when the delivery will take place. Once again I was informed a request will be submitted on my behalf to the relevant department.
On 11/08/2020 I sent a follow up email, but received no response.
On 21/08/2020 I phoned student support again, I was informed that no requests have been logged on my behalf, but the lady assured me she will log one immediately.
On 01/09/2020 I phoned student support again and received confirmation software + textbook has been issued, I will receive a confirmation sms or email with the tracking number within the same day or the next. I did not receive any confirmations.
On 02/09/2020 I e-mailed student support requesting feedback - no response, so I phoned support again. I received confirmation that the parcel will be sent the next day.
On 03/09/2020 I received a call from the courier company confirming delivery.
On 04/09/2020, and I received my parcel as promised.
I installed my software and was awaiting my serial number and product key email. After not receiving an email I searched other sources to retrieve it, but with no success.
On 08/09/2020 I phoned student support to assist me regarding this challenge. They were not able to help me and suggested I make use of the online chat with an agent from Autodesk. I was assisted by an agent and received the terrifying news AutoCAD 2017 was no longer supported by Autodesk and I won't be able to receive a serial number and product key, they recommend AutoCAD 2018 instead. They send me an e-mail confirming this.
I phoned student support again regarding this matter, it was brought to my attention the relevant department was aware of this, but did not yet inform the students they are considering AutoCAD 2019.
On 08/09/2020 I contacted my sales consultant, after there was no answer at student support, to require immediate assistance for resolving this concerning matter. He said he will ask the responsible person to contact me before end of business day. To no surprise no one contacted me. I e-mailed my sales consultant to inform him about my request for cancellation of my course and a full refund.
On 09/09/2020 I contacted my sales consultant again to follow up on progress. He assured me he did forward my email to the relevant department and urged them to contact me.
On 10/09/2020 I phoned him again and follow up, he informed me they were experiencing power failure, but will reply with feedback as soon as the systems are up and running again. I received no feedback.
On 11/09/2020 I contacted him again and asked who I can contact regarding my cancellation request. He asked me if no one has contacted me as to date, on which I confirmed "no". I want to cancel.
I was lied to and intec stole my money
Don't ever study through Intec. They will rip you off and won't care about it.
When I enrolled to study at Intec a couple of years ago, I gave them a call to inquire about their process. Their website at the time stated "You have up to x amount of years to complete your course".
I called in and spoke to someone in support. I inquired about this and the lady confirmed that I have 8 years to complete my higher diploma course. Due to the fact that I was working all the time and my affordably was low, I enrolled. It seemed convenient. The idea was to pay them monthly for the 3 period, and when I have the capacity, start studying. After I fully paid for my studies, I got a new job and had the capacity to use the remaining 5 years of my period to complete my studies. I got in contact with them and they told me that my period is up.
I told them what the lady to me when I enrolled and they actually asked me for proof. I couldn't recall who I spoke to over the phone 3 years ago. I explained to them that a study guide person would call every 3 months and check up how my studies were going, and would tell them I was currently working, and after I pay my studies and have capacity I'd start studying. They understood.
Intec removed that note from their website stating how long you have to complete their course and ripped off everyone who believed they had time. They missold information and tricked people into enrolling just to steal their money.
Because I was unable to provide them with proof of who I spoke to on the phone and what they had stated, they just ignored my messages.
I was earning close to nothing, and was determined to study. Intec took my money and my time. This college is dishonest and I don't recommend anyone to enroll through them. This amounted to a loss of over R40 000. These people don't care about you. They don't care about taking hard-earned money from those who want to study and can't afford it.
I didn't write this review months ago when I should have because I thought there's nothing I could do. However they should get away with this. That money could have been used now to cover a full year at University, and I could have been more. I trusted the wrong institution.
Please don't make the mistake I made. I have statements of proof that I've been paying intec for 3 years. I didn't do one module as I was told I had time.
Refund not paid after continuous follow ups. Going on 10 months from what was advised as 90 days!

1 November 2019: Followed up with no response
5 November 2019: Found out that he was writing his exams.
19 Nov 2019: Followed up again and he advises he that he forwarded the request to the finance department. I received no feedback for months.
10 Feb 2020: I follow up again with Theo.
11 Feb 2020: I receive and email from him asking for me to follow up with the finance department on 021 417 6700.
12 March 2020: I call the above number. I was advised it was not the accounts department.
I'm then advised that the correct accounts department number is 011 712 2013.
I managed to get a hold of Bathande at Lyceum on this number(bathande.nonkonyana@lyceum.co.za. direct line 011 712 2210) who tells me that he cant access the refund request on the system and to go back to Theo for details as to who he sent the refund request to.
I added the refund documents once again for their reference when escalating it to Theo once again.
Its now 5 months since i first raised this.
I get a response From Theo that I will be forwarded to the relevant department and requested I stay on cc on the email that he sends.
I had not been cc'd on any email!
16 March 2020: I email Theo yet again for feedback and receive no communication back
07 May 2020: I email Theo the 8th time for feedback and get a response that everyone is working from home.
My response is can they prioritize this refund as its now going on 7 months. I receive no response
03 Jun 2020: I email for feedback and again no feedback from Theo
17 Jun 2020: I call the number for Intec college 021 426 0626
I get hold of Johan Koekemoer (johan.koekemoer@icg.edu.za) and was advised to email branch requests with my query (branchrequests@icg.edu.za). I did so and added Johan on cc
30 Jun 2020: I receive a response to the email sent from icg.edu.za. from consultant Jo-Ann Williams with the below response
"Please accept our sincere apology for the delay in response to your below email.
Kindly be advised a follow up request has been escalated to the Accounts Department.
Trust feedback will be provided shortly."
11 July 2020: I respond to the email as no feedback had been given. Its been 9 months since I've initiated the refund which was meant to take 3 months to pay. I request info on what the delay is. I receive no response
14 July 2020: I still receive no response and email on the last email thread sent to icg.edu.za last person being Jo-Ann Williams saying that I need urgent feedback and not a system generated email but contact from an individual to settle this.
20 August 2020: We are almost 10 months into a refund request with little to no assistance given. funds have been sitting in your account for an expended period of time. there is no excuse for this to have take this amount of time and still ongoing.

I register 2017 NQF level 4 I got my everything which I did and send my assessment, some come back for redo which I did now the problem . 1 .I need my certificate from college because I paid them I'm done with that course .2i work at school as assistance practitioner they want that certificate or they will find someone with qualification .I phone college I emailed them nothing I want to enrol for next level but I can't .I never see a private college like Intec their service its very poor and they talk with they way they want .They will also asked for student number they they will say We will come to you ...forget they will never .For now what I'm asking from Intec College It Is My Certificate Only .I will never advice anyone to study with this collei never😭
Non payment on refund
I put forward a cancellation in October 2019 and still no payment as at today. Student No [protected]. I have emailed on numerous occasions and the response if they cannot give me a date for refunds. They stare 90 day refund. Well that's way beyond 90 days. They cannot nor will not respond with any positive feedback. Is this fair treatment.

I am very dissapointed at intec because they are using us students by debiting money from our accounts and not hsving any assistance whatsoever, when you apply to a college it is solely because one wants to better their lives, but it seems like the opposite when you register with intec..
even when you request a cancelation, its a mission to cancel yet they still want you to pay for a service not rendered or else they blacklist you..

Cancellation
I have repeatedly contacted Intec to cancel or change course material, have not studied or submitted any assignments. To date I have had no reply or assistance from intec, absolutely disgusting service. Staff are incompetent and have no interest in supplying contact details to escalate the matter. After stopping payment over a year ago I have now been handed over for collection in the matter with threats of being listed on various credit vetting agencies.

I applied at Intec College in July 2019 as soon as I got approved I paid the registration fee before August after that I did more research and discovered that I would be unable to further my studies at other institutions in South Africa once I have completed my qualification at Intec that being something which they had said was possible however it wasn't with my stream so I called several campuses and they never picked up some did but just hangup as soon as I told them that I wish to Cancel my course so eventually I found help and went ahead to the required procedure signed the deregistration forms and sent all the necessary documents so they got back to me and told me that I would get back the refund in three weeks or so but that didn't happen around November my parent called and they said they'd payback byou the end of the month they then proceeded to ask for more documents then I sent them but till today I haven't received any feedback they do not respond to my emails.
I advice students to be cautious and to take their time to decide whats best for them and do thorough research before applying anywhere.

My son applied to redo Matric Mathematics & Physical Science in Jan 2020. After paying over the full amount to do this we received absolutely no assistance from the student help desk to get the paperwork required for 3 months- this despite numerous emails and telephone calls to get some guidance on what paperwork was required. I was told that it was up to me to apply to the department of education directly to be able to rewrite these two subjects. After a huge amount of running around, driving to his High School to get a letter from the Head Master and going to Johannesburg Central to the department of education it became apparent that this was not going to be facilitated by the DOE. My son then decided it might be easier to just transfer to N4 Mechanical Engineering - this process was started on the 12/03/2020. The transfer procedure took until the 12/05/2020. It is now the 01/06/2020 and I have received absolutely no guidance as to how the transfer will take place - when we will receive any documentation to confirm this has actually happened. I have sent numerous emails and made numerous phone calls to try and get assistance and have not been successful. I then decided maybe we should just cancel the entire think only to receive an email from cancellations to say that I could be liable for R1000.00 up to 80% of the amount paid as a cancellation fee!
Seriously! After 5 months of trying desperately to get some assistance I must now be charged a cancellation fee!
What is the going rate for wasting 5 months of someone's life while they they wait for a college to assist them!

I registered for a course and paid for it in full using my credit card in full on 04 October 2019. I cancelled the course via email, submitting all requested documentation on 23 December 2019 and was advised by Jacqualine Hartley that someone from the finance department will contact me regarding the refund process. I have mailed and called various branches multiple times, with no successful result.
To date, I have not received ANY contact from Intec College. No feedback has been given telephonically or via email as to whether the cancellation process has been confirmed. The course is scheduled to expire in May 2020 and I have an eery suspicion that this whole process is going to be dragged out until then.
False/misleading information from consultant
Good day, from 2019 I was communicating with a sales consultant from intec regarding the amended senior certificate. My friend officially registered in December 2019, and during my communication with the sales consultant, I asked her many times about additional fees. And, SPECIFICALLY, if there was any booking fees for the examinations. She assured me there wasn't except the monthly debit. Now, she says I need to pay examination fees of R450 per module.
I was not previously aware of this when registering as she assured me that it is just my monthly debit of R721 per month. I am NOT paying this amount and I was mislead and I hope you can make arrangements asap so that I can still write my exams. I also asked her why are we paying for something that is offered by the department for free, she advised that it due to the study guides and extra assistance, however, where does this R450 per module come from now?
Secondly, there has many times were I requested assistance and had to wait days for feedback. For example, on the 13 March 2020 - I sent an email to change the banking details on the account, I had to follow up with her since I received no response. She advised me that she is currently in hospital and will assistance the following week. When I followed up again that week, she told me that she is still in hospital and will be for about 2 weeks, I then asked if there was someone else who can assist and she informed me that she will assist me when she is out (that would be by mid April or so?)
This is unacceptable and unethical for your institution to be misleading your consumers.
Please send me my exam confirmation letter once you have resolved this issue on your side, as I am not paying that examination fee amount.

Cancellation of Diploma, no feedback or resolve for 3 months, poor student relations
I submitted a cancellation form with the required evidence and detailed explanations and letter 12 Dec 2019. I am forced to cancel the Industrial Chemistry diploma I enrolled for in for a 20% discount (attractive offer) due to unforeseen financial obligations and difficulties. Since the submission, the cancellation department has made no effort to assist, debit orders are still being deducted from my account. I continuously send email updates, I also cc the credit operations team and recently the student adviser consultant that initiated the enrollment. Absolutely no effort, no resolution, no return emails or any indication that my request is being handled. This is the worst College I have ever dealt with, so disappointing. I have pleaded, complained and have stopped using any INTEC resources (including my student dashboard) back in December already. Even if I decide to continue with the diploma now, I will not have enough time to complete. What a waste!

I was told they no longer have it so I requested that I have written proof that I was a student and that I completed my course I was told the college would get back to me and I am still waiting.
