f1 error code
I bought Oasis topload HE model 110.[protected] serial number CT0570011 in late 2008. A month later got the F1 code, the control board was replaced. A couple years later same problem. Now F1 while the machine is filling with water and again at 20 minutes before cycle is over. Being busy I just put up with it and press stop and start several times to get through the wash. Here it is I called so far talked to several people none of who took responsibility kept passing me around and kept telling me I need to pay for the repairs. I'm bringing up with corporate office b/c these employees prove they're a bunch of thieves.
foul odor
We have this exact problem for the second time in our 2012 Kenmore Elite Fridge. I too discovered the nonsensical engineering design of the drip pan being essentially locked in to the bottom of the rear of the fridge and unable to be removed. The odor was emanating from the compressor and drainage tubes are which are located beside the compressor but between the cooling fan and the compressor. The 2 drainage tubes can become clogged (through the natural humidity removal and spillage that always happens in a fridge) and the material inside the tubes essentially rots if there is a clog there.. When the cooling fan comes on to cool the compressor it naturally blows across the drain tubes and pushed the smelly air into a warm compressor which exasperates the problem by moving it out and around the fridge.
I was surprised at the number of complaints on this situation after searching for this problem and it is a very obvious design flaw. I don't know how many fridges they have sold with this design but I can imagine it is more than thousands. Has anyone thought of or heard of a Class Action suit against Sears for this design issue? I doubt you will get any satisfaction from Sears on the matter.
This problem will not go away. You can clean up the tubes and flush the pan to temporarily resolve it but it will always return.
i have The same problem . My 3 door fridge has an awful smell and the drain pan looks like it has cottage cheese in it !no help from sears or kenmore?did you have any recourse ?
fire caused by burners going on when oven turned on
Kenmore Elite Electric Self Cleaning Oven - Model [protected]
On Sunday, January 25, we turned our oven on to convection roast to cook some chicken wings. I had a wooden cutting board on top of the cooktop on the quick heating element. About 15 minutes in, I noticed that there was smoke coming from under the wooden cutting board. The quick heating element on the left had turned on automatically and the cutting board had caught on fire. I turned off the oven and the burner turned off.
To show my husband the issue...I then turned the oven back on but on convection bake vs convection roast and the 2 burners on the front went on. I then turned off the oven completely and the 2 burner stayed on. We had to turn off the breaker in the basement to turn the oven off.
If I had not been in the room (we live in a 2 story), we would have had a complete disaster in our home.
I called Sears and they said it was out of warranty (bought Sept 2, 2009) and that it would be charged service call.
Other relevant history - in 2010 we had Sears come out because the lights were coming on in the indicators for all burners and we were worried about this. At this time they replaced the control panel and the service tech told us that this was a known problem and we should have it replaced each time it happens. We called Sears again in December 2014 and told them we were having the same lighting issue and was told it was out of warranty and that we would have to pay even though we had already had this panel replaced.
Less than 1 month after calling them stating the control panel was having issues, we had this fire!
I will never buy a Kenmore product again - I will never step foot in a Sears store again
I understand that you are upset but... If it is out of warranty then what do you want them to do?
I have tried to look up problems like this on the web and I do not see a common issue so I do not see a recall happening.
error code - oven non - functional
Bought kenmore elite induction stove two years ago almost to the day that the oven died half way through christmas baking. Almost a week before service techs could come; not familiar with the error code; nor was manufacturer. The spoke to engineer down in states - he suggested the part of the board causing problem. They were to order and return dec 22 to repair. Today, another week later, advised part is back ordered with no idea when it might be in. Less than one week until christmas with a houseful of out of towners coming for turkey dinner - or not. This was an expensive stove and we stayed with kenmore having grown up in a house with kenmore products that lasted decades and with any problem, sears quickly honoured their products. I don't expect decades in this day and age but do expect longer than two years. The timing is particularly bad and the lack of concern / interest in finding a solution guarantees i will not shop at a sears again. And my guarantee will stand firmer than sears' "customer satisfaction guaranteed" that they proclaim.

This is about Sears and their warranty service. They installed it and did not do it correctly now after moving in and using our new refrig the freezer collects ice and frost. The door does not make a complete seal and Sears wants to charge me for service. I will never use Sear ever again.
This is the worst toaster i have had to throw away so much bread it doesn't toast one side if you flip bread & stand there to eject you might get a good piece I'm so sorry i bought this toaster & got rid of my $6.00 toaster that made perfect toast every time!
bleach basin rusting
I have a three year old Kenmore Elite washing machine model TL29272. I paid $699.99 for the machine. I just noticed that the bleach basin is rusting and the top door is rusting at both corners. After doing a Google search, I learned that this is an issue with most Kenmore models. I wrote a complaint on the Sears website and their "Social Media Team" sent me an email asking for my contact information. I sent them my information and their response was to call Sears Service. I called Sears Service and they stated that this is a COMMON ISSUE. They would send out a repairman for $79, and then any repair would be additional. Thanks for nothing Sears. I will likely just replace the washing machine with another brand as it has already ruined several white shirts of mine with rust spots.

Enamel flaking off creating rust and ruining clothes
We purchased this product after reviewing the Consumer Report Buying Guide. IT began to rust year two of owning. When we had the washer serviced we were told "What do you expect the product is made over sees" I was provided a quote to replace the piece that was rusting. It has never set well with me. Now my clothes have rust stains on them. Can someone please contact me to discuss a resolution to this ongoing problem.
Thank you

racks fall out of oven
oven racks in Kenmore Elite (Model 790.[protected]) fall down
My mom has had this model stove for a while – but after the first year the racks started falling down. the oven expands and the racks fall down. Last thanksgiving I lost the bird and was pissed, Almost burnt my entire arm. Now its an everyday occurrence these days – to the point that anyone that tries to us the oven loose rack of items. I’ve burn my had twice, and my nieces and nephews are not allowed to use the oven. MY mother is 75 and had not had a new stove ever and she saved up years to buy this piece of ****!VERY DANGEROUS OVEN. HOW COULD THEY NOT RECALL THIS DANGEROUS OVEN? IT is a BIG saftey hazard. Last year we called sears and they would not help in any way. WHY would a company wait for LAW SUIT before they correct a problem. THIS IS SO VERY DANGEROUS FOR ANYONE TO USE> NEVER BUY KENMORE stoves. I will be posting this on my several twitter feeds and Facebook profiles. This is a terrible way to treat a senior citizen!
I have the same problem, the oven racks have never stayed put, but it is getting worse over time.
I have the same problem. The company said they have not received complaints. The oven wall buckles after one year.
I have same problem. Report to

Agree 100% I have the same problem...
both front doors are showing signs of rust
Purchased a Kenmore Elite Bottom Freezer Refrigerator Grab-N-Go from Sears in October 2013. The doors are showing signs of rust. The technician confirmed today that it is indeed rust. Sears refuses to replace the doors saying the warranty does not cover rust although the warranty does not actually state as such.

terrible odor from the back of the fridge
There is terrible odor in my kitchen for a while. It was driving me crazy. Finally figured out that it was coming from the back of my kenmore side by side fridge. Looked up online to see if others have experienced this problem and i see that many others have had this problem. Can't believe sears is getting away with selling fridges that have this problem. So far have not seen any resolution. Fridge is still under warrantee so i had an appointment with a tech. Came into my house. Took the back off. Put it back on and left saying he does not smell anything. Turns out he lied to me. Wrote in the notes that kit smells like a rodent. I do not have rodents in my house. This is a new fridge and i should not be having this kind of a problem. Talking to the sears rep is impossible. They are very unhelpful. I wish i would have know about this problem before. I would have never bought this fridge and i will certainly not be able to recommend it to anyone. . Unfortunately, i can not bottle this smell and send it to the reps at sears who don't seem to understand why i am very upset about this situation

deliverycustomer service
Ordered a fridge, stove and dishwasher from Sears Home store. Sales people very nice and all over you to make a purchase. Really only needed the stove and dishwasher but wanted the stainless steel to match so got a fridge as well. Ordered and paid for product on August 292014. They tell you when it will be ready and then you schedule a date based on it being ready. I chose a delivery of September 5th. Got the call the night before and the morning of saying my delivery was on its way...be ready.
When the driver arrives he said to me you will only be signing for the fridge and dish washer, I asked him why and he said they didn't have it. I asked him who do I talk to about rectifying the problem, he said he didn't know he is just a driver. That was my first concern, if you are showing up without something someone has paid for you think there would be a protocol in place.
I then call the Sears home store in Barrie where I purchased the stove. I explained my concern, said I had taken a day off work and would like to have the problem rectified today. The lady informed me that I would not be getting a stove today and then said it is not there fault if it is not in the warehouse. Well this is my second concern, if it is not your problem and you are Sears then whose problem is it? I get it accidents can happen, just find me my stove and get it to me. I even gave them my cell phone to call so I would always be able to receive the call, the sears home store where I purchased it has not called me back yet.
That night around 4:50 I thought the chances of getting a call at this point were slim so I decided to escalate it and call the manager of the store. He had left for the day.
The next day I called and spoke to a manager. I told him that I had ordered a product that had not been delivered and that I was upset with the customer service that I had received at his store and asked if I should talk to him, he gave me the 800 number to customer service. I was shocked, I am giving you the opportunity to make everything right with my experience and you blow me off.
What else could I do at this point? I phone the 800 number and speak to some (very nice) but entry level customer service representative. I spent 44 minutes on the phone and the end result was an offer for $50 worth of points on my card(which I would have to phone them back for when I got my stove?) and the promise that someone would call me in 5-7 days to re-schedule delivery.
Well here I sit on Sept 16th, no stove and calling back the 800 number to try to get the stove I paid for in August. I have tried to escalate it to a manager of customer service but he is on lunch? He was supposed to phone back but has failed to do so.
Where do you go next in this giant corporation. Certainly the 800 number is not the answer.
I would definitely think twice if you are planning on buying appliances from Sears. I had a friend order appliances from Lowes the on Sept 8th and she had then at her house by that Friday. For generations families, like my family have purchased from Sears and it has just been where you go. Not anymore.
Model 790. [protected]
I believe the timer unit is what surged then shot out sparks and caught fire and smoked. Fortunately, our glass back splash kept fire damage to the back of the oven. I have unplugged range until i find out more about this timer / issue.
Purchased new from sears late 2007.
Oven will not turn off even when switch is off, I need to unplug or kill breaker to get it to shut off.
Many similar complaints but no recall why not!
refrigerator has a bad oder
About a month ago we noticed a smell in our new house, we moved in 5 months ago. We pulled out our dishwasher, changed the air filters, cleaned top to bottom the whole house and the smell was getting worse. Finally we narrowed it down to the bottom of the refrigerator and after 2 hours of cleaning the drop pan the odor subsided. Then two weeks later we started to smell it again and again the drop pan had stuff in it. I looked on line to see if others are having the same issue and I found that this has been going on for 2 years. There hasn't been any notification from Sears letting people know of the issue. There's nothing posted on a resolution. As everyone has said you cannot remove the drop pan to easily clean it. I'd like to know how Sears plans on resolving this issue.
We have a bottom freezer - 2 door elite - Kenmore refrigerator - The lights stayed on after closing the doors - They got so hot it burnt both light housing and melted the temperature board. Called several times and Sears just doesn't care - They will send a tech out for a fee, I say why? if its a common problem why has this fridge not been recalled? We will NEVER buy a appliance from Sears again.
I have the same problem. Terrible odor in my kitchen for a while and could not figure out what it was. Finally figured out that it was coming from the fridge. I have KENMORE side by side and the sears people are impossible to deal with. I am still under warrantee and they sent a tech. He lied straight out saying there was not smell and left. He did nothing. Then he put in the notes that there was a rodent. This is an absolute lie. I see that other fridges by Kenmore have the same problem. Have you gotten any resolution. I wondering if there is some further steps we can take if they don't resolve this
Kind of a misleading complaint...
I found MANY people with a similar problem BUT a lot of them are not Kenmore units... The ones that are Kenmore units are not all for the same reasons... Some are from things that spilled in the refrigerator and they have bottom freezer units with things freezing and thawing on the coils... Others have a problem with liquids getting into the drains and slowly making it to the catch pan only to have some still being in the lines... Some are coils built into the back getting thins on them and smelling which requires taking the back apart to clean it all out...
I do NOT see that it is a design flaw that Kenmore needs to address.

smell from drip tray
We had a bad smell in the area of the refrigerator. We discovered it was from the drip pan. Our solution that worked was to use a shop vacuum to suck up all the bad smelling fluid in the drip pan, followed by flushing the pan with hot water and sucking this up in the shop vacuum. No more icky smell!
overheating and burning.
I have a Kenmore dishwasher. We Keep getting extremely hot dishes from the washer. It takes hours to cool them. now the house fills with smoke or something. It has been getting worse. Today I noticed the racks are all discolored and I am afraid to start it anymore. The red light comes on even when off. Can someone call and tell me about the recalls. The model no. is [protected] and the serial no. is FG0345444 The stock no. is 15765 please call me. [protected]

Until a repairman looks at your dishwasher, use the "air dry" option and it will turn off the heater coils.
ice maker and door mullion
I bought the entire Kenmore Elite group for my new kitchen 3 years ago. Since this time I have the oven door glass is not sealed and when you clean the glass liquid will run in between the exterior and interior glass. How this happens I am not sure. It looks awful and I cannot separate the two to clean them.
Next, my Trio Refrigerator: The freezer will not dump ice and the mullion on the freezer door is broken. You cannot replace just the mullion. You have to buy an entire new door which cost as much as a new refrigerator. Does that make any sense? I have called 4 separate times and even spoken to the Supervisor over the parts department for Kenmore. He told me he would find a resolution and this has been 4 months ago. No calls or reply. I will never buy Kenmore again. I am building a new house and will buy Whirlpool the next time!

I purchased a Kemore Elite Oasis washer and dryer and they are defective! I get all types of error codes on them. Terrible appliances! I want a refund! Sear should be held accountable. I will NEVER EVER buy another Kemore again and I will NEVER shop at Sears again. My check did not bounce but their product did!

Having the same Fire Hazard issue from Kenmore range only about 3 yrs old. Smelled burning wires when using the oven. Sparks and popping noises coming from electronic control panel. Entire unit should be replaced not just put another faulty part! Were you able to get yours replaced?
runs out of control and causes fire
My kenmore oven for the third time has overheated. I don't mean a little bit. It seem to on to full on mode and shutting the unit off does nothing. It continues to run and glow red. The only way to stop it is to turn the breaker off. This time turning the breaker off for five minutes then back on did not work. It went into full on again. This seems very unsafe. It has ruined food and caused home to fill with smoke and caused a fire in the oven. The unit displays f1 until you turn it off. Even off with nothing displayed appearing to be off, it still is on. Is there a recall or fix for this?

I went to school to become a professional so as not to rub shoulders with latrina shiniqua & others who work @ sears. I make money so as not to have any contact with such "humans". I live in a very nice neighborhood. I'm 100 % in favor of strict gun control because I've got mine baby & I don't want you to have any 2nd amendment rights.
Very common problem. Control board or oven temp sensor.
super overheated oven
My 3 year old Kenmore oven super overheated one 2 days ago. It was set at 350 and half an hour later smoke filled the kitchen and the stove started beeping and flashed an F10 error code. I tried to turn off the oven but it would not shut down I flipped the breaker to turn it off. The manual said the problem was a runaway oven ( wow that's a scary problem) I tried again a day later and it began to over heat again temp set to 350 and when I checked it with an oven thermometer with a scale up to 500. the temperature needle went off the scale!. Again it would not shut down and I had to flip the breaker. I will NOT be using this oven again. Of course the warranty is over and Sears will send out a tech for $80 to diagnose the problem. It could be the temperature probe RTD sensor probe $35 or the EOC electronic oven control $300+ these parts are also not available in the local store and if ordered will not arrive until April 27! After reading these reviews from others with "runaway ovens" and fires I am very uncomfortable with this oven in my house. Luckily I was at home and in the kitchen ----My house could have easily burned. There is a big problem with this stove! Why is the breaker not shutting off when the oven overheats? I will be sending a complaint to the CPSC and to Sears. Hopefully something can be done before someone is hurt or killed in a house fire.

compressor shot
I had purchased a Kenmore fridge in June 2012, took delivery in December 2012 and began using it then. After using it for 1 month, I emptied it, turned it off for 4 months and went on vacation. Returned back and turned the fridge on with no issues. I was advised to leave the fridge running while we were on another trip in January 2014 but found that our fridge's compressor had failed during our 2 month absence. I am guessing it failed early after I left, because when I returned on March 20, 2014, I found some of the items in the fridge had spoiled. In all, this fridge was only in operation for less than 11 months theoretically, and possibly only 9 months. The fridge now runs constantly and won't keep cold. The designated Kenmore neighbourhood repair guy said its the compressor that's shot, the motor runs, the compressor doesn't get cold. Sears won't stand behind it because it exceeded it's one year warranty,
according to the calendar. Sears and Kenmore are not willing to stand behind their product.

no replacement parts
I purchased a new refrigerator from Sears because I have previously been able to get parts and service from Sears. I ordered a replacement part from the online catalog and Sears shipped the wrong part. Being an engineer, I saw that the online catalog had an error in the part number.
I carefully explained the Catalog error, sent a picture of the part I needed and returned the wrong part. Over the next two years, Sears sent 8 additional incorrect parts that in no way resembled the part I ordered, totally ignoring my description and refusing to correct the catalog. In despair, I ordered a similar looking part from a different model hoping it would fit and it did.
I vote Sears the most customer deaf company it America. I will never purchase another Sears product.

"as an engineer" you failed the insanity test. Doing the same thing multiple times and expecting different results. I would think an engineer would have figured that out after two or three times. Can you use the internet "as an engineer"? Are you aware that there are many parts dealers around? They can be found on the internet.
rusting washer
I have a washer that is under 3 years old hardly used and paid almost $1000. The lid and around the bleach dispense is rusting and sometimes gets rust on clothes. I called Sears and the repairman come out to tell me it is NOT under any warranty and it will cost $300 to replace the top of the washer, "REALLY!" . I paid $75 + tax for the service call with the thought that this problem was clearly covered because it is Sears and they stand behind their products, so I thought, and would NOT have to pay for the service call if under warranty. Sears did fix my new refrigerator's display, which was a Samsung still under warrant, with no issues and I thank Sears for their good service there.
I buy everything from Sears; tools, yard equipment, electronics, furniture, eye glasses all kinds of stuff. I have been reading that this is a common problem for the Kenmore Elite washers and a class action suit needs to be filed NOW if not already. If sears does NOT fix my washer I can honestly say I will never shop or step into a Sears again plus I will steer family and friends away too. I should have kept my old Whirlpool washer. :-(
