The stainless steel fridge kitchenaid model number krfc704fss serial number kx0205735
Unfortunately, the stainless steel fridge KitchenAid model number KRFC704FSS serial number KX0205735 has not been performing well because it has already been repaired approximately 10 times in the past 3 years. I have been disappointed since the very first day, when I plugged it in and it already wasn’t working at all. First, we called the store service company since we had the warranty for a year. Their technician came and replaced the compressor. Few months later, the fridge started leaking, the ice machine stopped working, the freezer did not freeze properly, and, most importantly, the fridge started making unbearable noises like a drilling tool. We already used three different service agencies that sent us their technicians. They determined that new parts were needed due to ice buildup behind the freezer. Therefore, they have already replaced the fan twice, the computer, the motherboard, and the sensors, accordingly. Despite constant replacements, a few weeks after each intervention, the fridge started showing exactly the same symptoms as described above. We paid $3599+tax for the fridge thinking we invested in quality and long term use. However, we already spent approximately $ 2000 for repairs, but the problem has NOT been solved.
Desired outcome: To resolve the problem, I would appreciate any intervention such as money refund or a new fridge.
Have been attempting to receive instruction for repair of dishwashwe
They do not at all respond to what I am trying to accomplish. I am in the middle a complete kitchen redo and I have a range and a 36 in refrigerator on hold at Daniels Appliances in Bethel Park Pa which I intend to cancel. Your 24 hr line is
useless as they repeat the same response over and over. Model number is KDTE104KPSO and SN is FA3801386. I need someone to call and explain to me the procedure for contacting someone for repairs. This fiasco is completely .unacceptable. no one even gives you a name or another number to call.
Sincerely,
Marcia A Gilbert

Desired outcome: That I should receive options for obtaining repairs to my Kitchenaid dishwasher.
Refrigerator
Our refrigerator quit on November 11,2022, didn't realize it until the 12th. Called KitchenAid on the 12th (Friday). KitchenAid set up an appointment for us with Brandt's Appliance (approved repair service company) for November 12th. A tech came and when the day was done it was decided by the Tech it was a bad compressor.
Brandt's told us that there is a countrywide shortage on the compressor and is on backorder. I also called KitchenAid and was told the same and we were put on a list with one of KitchenAid's departments that looks for hard to get parts. One was found (by Brandt's) and installed finally on the 29th of November. This new compressor failed. Brandt's magically found another overbite and are installing another new one this afternoon (the 5th of December). I am not too optimistic.
If this compressor fails I am looking for a new refrigerator from KitchenAid. (ASAP) I am writing this in part to show my frustrations of being without a refrigerator for the better part of a month. it is not easy living out of coolers.
Desired outcome: I want a new replacement Refrigerator
Double wall oven ceramic coating
The ceramic coating on both of my double ovens. The bottoms basically have no coating on them at all and in some areas it is starting to chip off of the sides. I am told this has no bearing on the oven units working. However I dont want chips of paint/ceramic in my food and I hate to show anyone my ovens as they look horrible. I have had kitchen aid products off and on and this is the last i will purchase. I can't understand why this is not an issue with your company as it appears this is happening with several products, including the double oven, stove oven combinations and I am not how many of the microwaves/convection ovens have the same issue. My Model #KEBK206BSS01 and Serial #DR42515887. All appliances in the home are KitchenAid and I would like to keep the same but after reading all the issues, unless something can be done to fix the problem I will have to go to another supplier.
Desired outcome: I would like to have either a new double oven or the ceramic to be replaced in this one. Please get back to me ASAP
ice-maker in our refrigerator
Our refrigerator - 23.8 cu.ft French Door - ice-maker hasn't worked prooperly for months. It is 2 years old and out of warranty, of course. It freezes up and will not provide ice. We have had someone to repair it two different times now to no avail. The problem remains the same. Temp has been changed both times but makes no difference...
I didn't expect a KitchenAid to fail after such a short period of time and didn't expect to have to purchase a new ice-maker to be able to use it.
Desired outcome: I would like to be provided with a new ice-maker.
Refrigerator
My husband and I are now on our second Kitchenaid Refrigerator, the same model, in less than 3 years and both have malfunctioned in nearly the same way. We purchased the refrigerator through Best Buy. Around a year, each fridge started making a horrible sound that was unbearable to listen to and then the ice maker and freezer stopped working. We had the first fridge replaced entirely after months of horrible attempts at repairs and lost food. The second fridge, like clock work has not started doing the same thing, about a year after purchase.
The lights also do not work this time, which is very fun trying to find your food inside the fridge. Not to mention the various "finishes" that have fallen off of the fridge like a cheap piece of garbage. We purchased the entire kitchen suite when we remodeled our kitchen and could not be more disappointed at the product and the company, which has repeatedly disclaimed any obligations for replacement or repairs. The same "finish" issues occurred on the stove. All the knobs slide around and pop off. Essentially, we have zero faith in Kitchenaid products at this point, after spending thousands of dollars to receive a horrible product twice now that clearly has a defective design/manufacturing flaw which without fail keeps happening.
Desired outcome: We want our money back for the fridge we purchased and will gladly send the heap of junk back to Kitchenaid.
MODEL KDTE554CSS3
The Kitchen aid dishwasher model kdte554css3 clearly states if you need to add dishwasher salt, it should be at bottom of dishwasher where it needs to be added. Nothing is showing a dispenser add, I was told by kitchen aid customer service this device is inactive on your site. All customers that purchased this dishwasher are out of luck. Purchased 2017. Your manually doesn't even address it so why do you get the light on dishwasher stating you need to add.
Desired outcome: FIX ISSUE OR EXPLAIN IT'S A DESIGN FLAW, IT DOESN'T NEED TO BE ADDED, WHAT'S THE END RESULT, WHAT DO INTEND TO DO TO RECTIFY.
KitchenAid refrigerator model #KRF C300ESS07
Our new refrigerator was delivered May 21 from Best Buy. By June 30 we noticed it was not making ice and items on the top shelf along the back of the refrigerator we’re freezing. We tried the troubleshooting recommended on the KitchenAid website and filed for warranty work in July. By October 18th, we have had four service calls where the icemaker, thermoster, and control board were replaced. Even though these three parts were replaced, the refrigerator is still freezing items along the top back shelf. The service technician will come to our house a 5th time to put Peama Gum in an area to try to solve the problem. KitchenAid refuses to replace this refrigerator and Best Buy is not helping much either. They are telling us to deal with the KitchenAid warranty. It is October 18, 2022 and I have a five month old refrigerator that does not work correctly and KitchenAid claims we don’t qualify for a replacement appliance because the thermistor, control board, and icemaker do not count as three separate parts even though they each have a part number. We have lost time off of work, were unable to attend events we paid for due to the service technician being at our house longer than expected, and food that has become ruined. All of this equals to money lost by us due to this faulty refrigerator. KitchenAid customer service is pure frustration and a complete waste of time. Their website takes you in circles and it is nearly impossible to speak with anyone who can do anything about our situation. I do not, in any way, recommend KitchenAid.
Desired outcome: We would like our money back or the refrigerator to be replaced with a new one because the one we purchased is a faulty lemon.
refrigerator KRMF706ESS01
The refrigerator has not worked right since we bought it from Home Depo and the warranty we from Home Depo sold to another company and they are not holding up to the signed agreement to fix or replace.
Kitchen Aid/Whirl Pool manufactured this product KNOWing it was not going to last a year and they side step every way possible.
I have reported to Federdal level and CA Attorney GENERAL.
THIS has to stop, these manufacture COMPANIES which sell to americans must up hold the standard of a working product or replace it if it does not work according to the specifications and time warrented...
Every thing these days is up in the air your purchase and are given a product that doesnt work...what the hell is that
Desired outcome: replace refrigerator with equal value and specifications
kitchenaid krff507hbs02 refridgerator
Its just 1 year old now,and over this year I've had the repair men out NUMORUS times to fix the ice maker that over fills and runs down around the ice bucket freezing UNDER the ice bucket and splashing water into the fridge, they have leveled it, and jacked it to one side (under the guidance of KitchenAid) replaced some part inside the fridge and now have replaced both boards on the thing and..you guessed it, its STILL making a mess! over THREE GRAND and you cant get a decent working machine! not to mention the time I have spent waiting on the repair men! KitchenAid has some MICKEY MOUSE ways of "fixing" it the Jacked to one side thing required ME to provide a scrap piece of wood to stick under the front leg! unbelievable and a hiddous site to look at too!
Desired outcome: I honestly dont know what would fix this issue, I hate to have to get a new fridge, wait for delivery men again tear my door off to get it in, and mostly, move all our food again!! I just want it FIXED somehow!
Manual can opener
I purchased this manual can opener about two months ago to replace a rather old opener I had. While using this 'new' opener on a large tomato sauce can, the handle made a pop and now just spins around. I had to clamp a small ViceGrip pliers to the shaft to finish opening the can. As a forty plus years as a mechanical design engineer, I can see the small size splines on the shaft and the thin wall of the plastic handle are woefully undersized for this application. I am guessing this was made in China. If so, the original design might have been done in the USA and then sent abroad for manufacture, but was cut back to save a penny or two. Also I doubt any strength testing was done.
I don't want a replacement of the same, I would want a much better one!
KitchenAid was once a producer of quality items, seems those days are gone.
Desired outcome: Only if you can provide a much better (stronger) can opener...
KRFC704FSS - Kitchenaid refrigerator
3 years after the warranty expired water began leaking and freezing under the deli tray. The water had been accumulating prior to the end of the warranty, but it took time for the frozen water to continue until it came out from below the deli tray. We had a "kitchenaid" trained technician come out and he thought there was probably something that clogged the tube in the back where water drains and then it just backed up. He never found anything and I told him that the temperature in the fridge varied widely and wondered if that could be the problem. He ignored this. However, the fridge varies from 49 to 29 degrees and I have set the temp at 40 degrees because items kept freezing. Again, he didn't think this was important so I let it go. Although my food gets ruined when this happens so it is a problem to me. Well he took out all the ice made sure the tube was clear and then left. About 4-5 months later the problem is back. He came back out and tried to find a leak with water hoses and found nothing said again probably something blocked the tube. I again mentioned the fluctuation in temperature but he ignored it. This time 3 days later the problem was back. He then recommended that I have all hoses changed and another feature and he was guessing that this might fix the problem. He did not come back out but said if he did come out to research the problem more he'd charge me a couple hundred more dollars. This man did not know what he was doing, or he did and it was scamming me out of money. I was not going to pay near $700 dollars in repairs when it was a guess and what he had charged me over $200 dollars the first time was not the actual problem. He was ignoring what I believe to be the bigger issue. If water goes to drain and my fridge is running at 30 degree's then the water can freeze when it goes to drain and thus block the tube. We are ready to throw this fridge away and it's been with us since Aug 2018. Since Sept 2021 we have been dealing with leaking water, freezing water, and ruining (freezing) our food. What a huge waste to the environment to make sure poor quality appliances. Kitchenaid should be fined for making appliances that don't last even close to 5 years. The 5 year warranty wasn't even offered on this model, which we had initially purchased. Then they told us we could only get the 3 year when the item came back in stock (it was taken off the market because there were problems - that were apparently not fixed). Looks like they knew the sold something faulty. There should be a class action law suit on Kitchenaid for not taking responsibility. Or training technicians to actually diagnose and fix a problem. Not ones that just take your money to guess at a problem, then state it could be a different problem and want to charge you more to take another guess.
Desired outcome: For someone to figure out the problem and fix my fridge or provide me with a working fridge. The problem began prior to warranty expiring, but was not seen until shortly after. Best buy denied warranty coverage.
KRFC704FSS01 - if any other people are experiencing inappropriate cooling, and/or freezing of water in the tube that drains out the bottom of the fridge causing water to back up and freeze under the deli tray where eventually the water backs up and comes out toward the door - let me know. I think it's time for a lawsuit. They are not taking care of their poor manufacturing and instead of keeping life long customers they are turning people off for life. I was told my fridge is not fixable and it is a problem with how it was manufactured. Poor insulation around that tube. KitchenAid needs to recognize this and take care of it.
KRMF706ESs
I have owned this model refrigerator since 11/2018 and hade the freezer fan or the mother board fail 3 times and now it is failing again. We purchased this from Bergmann’s in Slinger Wisconsin and they have been coming out to fix with out charging us for parts but for service. This appliance is failing every 4-6 month since the first repair. I understand appliances do not last like they used too, but this is ridiculous. I have to live with a very loud buzzing sound in my kitchen that can be heard throughout my home. I should expect an appliances to last at least 6 years without issue.
The same repair person has been servicing our refrigerator and has commented on this model being the worst for the issue explained above. He has said this refrigerator is is the reason for most of his calls. If this is true kitchen Aid should be recalling this model and replacing with a different model. It is a lemon! Would like a response on this complaint.
Desired outcome: Fix it so it stop breaking down for at least several years or replace.
Time for class action lawsuit. The fridges are doing this a lot and are poorly made.
Our refrigerator has had the same issue replaced one part twice, then other parts are going out having a hard time for Whirlpool/KitchenAid to understand this refrigerator is a lemon and needs to be replaced. Parts are not wanting to be covered and labor since the refrigerator is now out of warranty when the issue began our new tech states it started in the control board and started a domino affect and it is still not working right. I reached out to Business Better Bureau and now Whirlpool will pay for the Control board and the harness but not previous parts. The ice maker is still not working because another valve needs to be replaced because of the domino affect. We pay good money for these products and the product should not have issues within a year and right before the warranty is up. Lemon yes! Fvaughan

The very first use of this product was catastrophic. Poor design on input shaft bushing was not carrying load the case carried load from shaft, shaft and case gaulded together splitting case. I disassemble to find issue and shaft had gaulded to case showing bushing not carrying the load. Product was only used one time. This was a gift with no receipt that was not used for 4 years first use was 9/13/22
Desired outcome: Please replace this shaft and case or replace poorly designed product. Thank you
No Return Allowed!! - Do Not Buy KitchenAid Secure Fit Pouring Shield Model KSMBLPS
Aug 24 2022 I ordered a "Secure Fit Pouring Shield" Model: KSMBLPS from KitchenAid website. Order #[protected]. This product did not work. I tried to return it, but there was no return instructions. No invoice of any kind was provided with the product. When I was finally able to find a phone number to contact for return instructions, I spent hours on the phone and was transferred or hung up on every time. The "noreply" email that KitchenAid sent me after making my online purchase provided me no return instructions and no contact info - I believe this is intentional to make it very difficult to return products. After over an hour on the phone, on Sept 13 2022, I did reach a representative, MaryAnn" who's supervisor name was supposedly Salome (she refused to give her or her supvr last name). MaryAnn spoke very little English and claims she put in a request for an approval to see if I will be allowed to return the item. Ref #[protected]. This could take several days she says. What does she mean “if I am allowed to return the product”? Also, she did not send me the email that she said she was going to send which would supposedly contain a return label... again this email did not come. I told her my email address multiple times. This call also ended with a transfer which was actually her disconnecting my call. I had asked "MaryAnn" multiple times for supervisor name but she was not willing to provide anything more than "Salome" and would not transfer me to any supervisor she absolutely refused to let me talk to anyone. I want my $30 refunded. They can have their defective product back. Please help me get my refund, and please make this company provide a legitimate refund process for customers going forward.
Desired outcome: $30 Refunded!
Range kseg950ess5: parts missing from a new stove, kitchenaid will not supply
Purchased a KitchenAid KSEG950ESS5 range. Appliance store said it came without a power cord, and ordered me one. When unboxed, the stove had a 4-conductor cord (NEMA 14-20) attached. My house has a 3-wire circuit (NEMA 10-20), so I needed the cord anyway.
An electrician removed the factory cord, but found 2 parts needed were missing - a ground strap or ground link, and a ground link screw. These parts are shown in the installation manual as needed for a 3-wire connection, and to be removed for a 4-wire connection. He told me to get these parts before he could proceed.
I contacted KitchenAid service via their web chat line. The rep first said they could not find the parts. I referenced the page number and section in my installation manual (W11509601A) which has instructions for connecting either type of power cord. The rep said it was not in their manual, W10787365-RevB. That manual says the stove comes with a NEMA 14-20R connector and makes no reference to installing either type of power cord in the field.
The rep's next response was
"As a courtesy, we provide information to our consumers concerning the installation and operation of our appliances. Certain installation situations dictate more comprehensive knowledge. The expertise of an installer or servicer and informed judgment may better serve those more obscure scenarios."
Me: "I had an electrician in, and he said those parts are needed."
Rep: "Those parts are only available if the ranges that do not come with a cord. Since model number KSEG950ESS comes with a power cord then they are not needed. "
Me: "I still need the parts. I need to use a 3-wire cord."
Rep: "As I advised you earlier those parts are not available for model number KSEG950ESS. Here is the parts list for the range: https://s3.amazonaws.com/sm-backend-production-attachments/repair-parts-list-w11563668-reva.pdf."
Me: "If your resources are at a dead end, I need to escalate this."
Rep: "Because I am empowered to make decisions on behalf of KitchenAid, any resolution I can provide you would be KitchenAid's decision as a company."
My stove is still nonfunctional and not connected..
Desired outcome: I need the two parts, a ground strap and the ground link screw, sent to me ASAP.
Design and repair of refrigerator
Only four years ago, we purchased KitchenAid’s 5 door refrigerator (KRMF706ESS) and spent roughly $3,500. We thought we were purchasing a top-of-the-line appliance from a top-of-the-line company. We were unfortunately wrong on both counts. Our refrigerator has not worked since June and, after jumping through the hoops KitchenAid uses as a stalling tactic, we are no closer to having a working refrigerator. KitchenAid tells us only that our refrigerator is beyond its 1-year warranty and that they don’t know when they’ll have the part we need.
There are clear design flaws in this model, evidenced by the number of 1-star reviews on Kitchen Aid’s website, all showing the same problems. Our problems began with the "open door" alarm sounding with no door open. The inside lights had stopped working, along with the water/ice dispenser and almost all functions on the two control panels. We got a tech in and he told us that the panel in the lower left drawer had shorted out due to water getting in it. It is directly below the water dispenser and ice maker, so any spills or leaks will short the panel, which is not gasketed or protected in any way. The tech replaced the panel and wire harness (which was corroded). It cost $350 just for parts plus charge for the service call. This did not fix the problem. The tech said there’s other wiring inside the drawer that couldn’t be accessed. As a result, he would need to replace the whole drawer, costing us another $600+. So now, 4 years after purchasing this already expensive refrigerator, we’re going to be spending another $1,000 minimum! Meanwhile, the temperature started climbing. It ranges between 42 and 45 degrees - too warm to preserve food. The icemaker is also above freezing, so we had to empty it, as it began to leak and form a puddle on the brand new control unit. The freezer is just above freezing, so we had to move our food out of it. Of course, we can't adjust the temperature because the control panel doesn't work. The tech said this may or may not be part of the original problem, and he won't be able to tell until he replaces the drawer. So, we might wait months or even a year for the drawer, only to find there are more problems, and then maybe wait more months for more parts. And, finally, another even newer problem - the refrigerator is making so much noise it sounds like a helicopter ready to take off.
Aside from all the difficulty in getting replacement parts in an expedient manner, as well as KitchenAid's inability to say when they can have the first part we need, the fact that the control panel is right below potential leaks and spills while not waterproofed in any way is an incredibly bad design. It's especially unbelievable given the number of reviews that talk about the ice maker leaking. We have a minimum of $1000 in repairs on an expensive refrigerator that’s only 4 years old and the cost could climb even higher, given the newer problems with temperature and noise. We loved this refrigerator... while it was working, which probably accounts for some of the good reviews. But it's a disaster waiting to happen, and when it happens, it's bad. And, worst of all, you can no longer count on KitchenAid to stand behind their very expensive products. Let this be a warning. DON’T BUY KITCHENAID!
Addendum, several weeks later: Still nothing from KitchenAid. KitchenAid’s stock response… which they laughingly title “Social Care”… is: “…thank you for your review. We sincerely apologize for the concerns with your appliance and would like to review this further for you. Please reach out to us via Facebook https://www.facebook.com/KitchenAid or Twitter @KitchenAidCare. We look forward to speaking with you.”
Seriously? Facebook? Twitter? Aren’t you already talking to us on your review page? So OK… we contacted them on Facebook, posting this review which has all the info. Their response was to tell us the exact date we purchased our refrigerator (thanks, we knew that), that it is out of warranty (thanks, we knew that too), and to ask for the part number which you would think they’d know, since they knew everything else about our appliance and what specifically is broken. We provided that. Their response was “We understand your frustrations completely. However, due to the pandemic, we do have some unanticipated plant closures and production delays. We are currently working around the clock to fulfill orders, while also keeping in mind the health and safety of our employees. Unfortunately, this means that we do not have any further updates to share. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.” OK, great. What about your defective product? What about your poor design? What about the fact that after we pay to have all this work done, your ice makers leak, the control panel is right below it, not protected in any way, and it will short out again. Is that the fault of covid?
The bottom line is… KitchenAid is taking no responsibility for their product, the issues getting parts may or may not have anything to do with Covid, and… their mode of communication stinks.
Desired outcome: New refrigerator. Or at least properly repaired and a guarantee that the problem will not reoccur.
I am in the midst of a war with Kitchen Aid too Apparently design flaws are their specialty Our ice maker stopped working It isn't under warranty so we had a repairman come out thinking there was a motor we had to replace As soon as he saw it he said the wires for the ice maker are at the bottom if the freezer door and opening and closing the door caused them to wear SOLUTION? Replace the door at a cost of $875 plus installation I took it all the way to the CEO and they will give me 15% discount towards a new garbage product Now dealing with BBB and Consumer Affairs They have no regard for customers
We have the exact same refrigerator (4 1/2 years old) and have had all of the same problems you have had. As to the helicopter noise, they just put in new parts less than a month ago for that. Had to completely empty the unit so they could install the new part and found it was already rusted. Yesterday, it just quit working, however, it had power as the lights worked except, they were very dim in the refrigerator. After two reboots, still nothing. Then more than an hour after the last reboot, it started running again. Still very dim lights. At least our food has been saved. Fortunately, we purchased the 5-year extended warranty from Hartville Hardware, and they have been excellent. I think the cost for all four appliances was about $250. Best money ever spent! Last evening (Friday about 5:30pm), when I called, of course, their service department was closed. They offered to see if they could get us a loaner delivered on Saturday. Since the refrigerator is now running, I called them this morning and declined the loaner and asked for a service call asap as something is definitely still wrong. Due to the extended warranty, all of our parts and service calls have been at no charge. We also purchased the matching range. All of the knobs were spinning as they are plastic inside and were stripped. Hartville Hardware replaced all four at no charge. They now have metal insides. Funny all knobs are made in China! So much for American made Kitchenaid! I have placed a call to Kitchenaid and the automated answer is a return call in five days...unbelieveable. I was thinking of demanding a new refrigerator, but, I am guessing they will just laugh at me after reading your post! Good luck to you.
Refrigerator- k73916640, KRMF706ESS01
Final attempt. The faulty refrigerator stopped making ice all while the dispenser still remained inoperable and leaking rusty water. When the repair man arrived today it was discovered the rusty leaking water has ruined the deli tray motherboard. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Desired outcome: I want my refrigerator and range replaced.
Stand Mixer
As a Canadian, I would suggest no one buy the KitchenAid stand mixer. This mixer has an issue with the gearbox leaking grease. This problem is known and recognized and if I were in the US I could send the mixer to be repacked with grease by KitchenAid.
This service is not available in Canada, and the customer service proposed “solution” is to talk to my baker to see who they use to repair their commercial equipment.
In other word, no solution at all. CAVEAT EMPTOR - Buyer Beware
Desired outcome: KitchenAid to provide fairly priced equipment repair to customers regardless of location.
Kitchenaid refrigerator
We purchased a brand new refrigerator from KitchenAid after our old one went out. We have only had the refrigerator for 4 months when the compressor went out and now have a refrigerator that no longer works. The repair person said that the part needed is not in stock anywhere in the US and it could be months before the part arrives. How can this be acceptable by this company to have such a horrible product that will break after 4 months of use. Unacceptable!
Desired outcome: Replace the refrigerator with one that works.
