Replacement parts
I have been trying for over a week to get a replacement retractable screen for my door
Have been given so many excuses
I live in Canada and Larson today said they do not ship to Canada they gave a bunch of excuses and try other sites
Why sell products you with no intention on serving
Bought the doos because it was supposed to be a top quality door
You should advise consumers you only supply parts to USA. Consumers
Desired outcome: Replacement screen or door
Pet door 36-in x 81-in white high-view wood core storm door $350 + tax
I purchased a Larson vinyl clad wood storm door with factory installed PetSafe pet door. My decision was based on Larson's 10 year warranty and their claims to be the "best door mfr in the market". Less than 20 months after purchase the outside lever completely failed and snapped off the the inner sleeve around the lock set spindle. It was early morning, 22*F when I stepped out onto my covered porch to retrieve the dog's water bowl, bring it into the house and refill. I do this EVERY morning, dressed in pajamas, robe and slippers. With the outside lever completely broken off the metal sleeve that is attached to the inner spindle I was unable to regain entry into my home. Although 72 year old female, I was able to crawl through the pet door halfway into the house enough to reach up and turn the inner lever to open the door. Larson brags about their "Secure Lock® handle set". The next day 2/8/2021 I brought the failed piece to Lowes where I purchased the door and spoke to the Mgr of the Doors/Windows Dept. A quick glance and he saw that it was a total and complete failure in the construction of the lockset. He instructed me to contact Larson with warranty claim and stated they would send a replacement showing me the Warranty documentation Larson provides:
Heavy Duty Aluminum LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY
Solid Core DuraTech® Aluminum Clad TEN YEAR WARRANTY
Solid Core Vinyl Clad FIVE YEAR WARRANTY)
Components - ONE YEAR WARRANTY specifically calling out "locksets (mechanical operation and finish)"
Larson does however covers manufactur's defects during the first 10 Years "Larson Manufacturing Company will warranty all manufacturers defects".
He then pointed out the failure was not mechanical nor paint. From picture attached you can clearly see the mfr defect in the construction of the door lockset. Mechanical and paint are function and intact.
The next day 2/9/2021 I called Larson Manufacturing Company [protected] at 2:00 p.m. CST and was finally connected to "Gloria" who was clearly bothered with my call. She was rude and short with me. Her mouthpiece was clearly not near her mouth - her voice was distant and faint. I told her I could not hear her and in her disinterested manner merely asked me for the registration number. After asking where this could be located she merely asked if I was near the door. I answered yes. She then told me to look for it on the door jam - not telling me WHERE on the door jam. I found it and gave the number to her. Silence. She said nothing. I asked if she was going to take my warranty claim and she merely asked "what's the problem" . I explained precisely what I detailed above. Her response was "It's not covered". She didn't want photos of the defective lever that clearly shows the failure of the component. I told her the mechanical and paint are just fine - the lever snapped off. She didn't care and restated, "it's not covered". She was disinterested in taking my warranty claim, did nothing to instruct further steps nor help me in any way. $350 for a storm door from the "leading mfr of doors" deserves a little more than this brush off. So I then asked for her supervisor and ther was silence - nothing. I said "hello? Are you still there?" and she said "Yes". I asked what was she doing, transfer me to a supervisor. She then said she was writing notes. I then was put on hold for 13 minutes - silence nothing. She then came back to the call and said "my supervisor is in a meeting I'll ask them to call you when they can". I asked if she needed my number and she curtly said "I have it". I asked for her name and was given "Gloria" I asked her employee badge number she said "No". With that she hung up on me.
I'm sure good people work at Larson Manufacturing but "Gloria" isn't one of them. However, there is NO EXCUSE for a company like Larson Manufacturing to treat customers dismissively. Clearly their company is a defective as the expensive storm door and lever.
Desired outcome: Replacement of complete door lever assembly
My handle snapped right off also.
Storm door
Purchased the Lakeview from Menards in May, 2020. The closer was adjusted to close to our preference at the time it was installed. About 2 months later the door would not slow down when it got close to completely closing and the door would slam shut. It has been adjusted 4 times and it works as it should for awhile and then it slams shut.
This is the second problem we have had since installation about 4 months ago. The first was stripping the adjustment screws on the striker plate. The metal rail is made of such poor material the screws strip with hardly any pressure when tightening with a screwdriver.
Trying to get anyone to talk to, either on the phone or chat, is almost impossible and when you do get someone they try to lay the blame on the customer.
Do not buy from this company. Both the product and the support are very poor.
Larson aluminum storm doors
I purchased 2 Larson aluminum storm doors from Menard's and they both bubbled within 2 years. 2 10 year old doors are still fine. New doors they make are just crap. Have bought 8 Larson doors total. 6 older doors fine, 2 newer door bubbled and disintegrated with in 2-3 years. Stay away new doors are garbage. Appear to be painted aluminum foil over particle board total junk... No luck with warrenty claim, complained to Menard's. Will no longer buy Larson doors or windows.
wrong door, wrong hardware, poor customer service
Never will I buy or recommend a larson product! After ordering my door on aug 13, 2019, and waiting and waiting to receive it, they sent the wrong color door. The store where I purchased the door, a lifestyle high view, with brushed nickel hardware, and waiting and waiting for delivery. I received a door the right color, but the wrong style and wrong...

I boughy brand new handle last year with a brand new door. And a few months later door handle want work and larson will mot stand behind there product. They say door was made in 2017. I dont care cause I paid for the door in 2018. Just because your door sits on a shelve for a yr not my problem. Long story short dont buy larsons product they lie and deceive so they want warranty there garbage they sell.
We had the same problem with the Larson storm door we bought in 2017. I have had to replace the handle 3 times due to deterioration of internal metal parts. In other words, they just fell apart. Broken metal bits in every single one them. Will never buy another Larson door.
Brushed Nickle Handle with Secure Lock #20275317R, This handle (latch)came with the new Larson Storm Door.
This latch system is a complete piece of POOR Engineering. and this is why.
The outer handle will only last about six months and then the Handle will break from the Outer Face Plate.
The outer handle has a very thin amount of metal left after machining for the key lock in the area of the snap ring.
The area of the snap ring is where the handle will fail and come out pf the face plate.
First latch come with the door and six months later I had to buy a replacement for $40.00 and six months after that latch broke again and I went back to Menards and received a replacement under their warranty thru Larson.
This larch handle in the outer face plate is a piece of junk.
Time for a class action suit!
pella storm door
10/08/10 I purchase a Pella storm door #[protected] Serial #100616.
This is the second time the handle has broken. this time it locked me in the house and I had to go out the back door and pry it open with a screwdriver. Then tape it so it doesn't lock me in again. I am 76 years old and on a fixed income. I try to buy wisely the best products. This purchase was from Lowe's in Greensburg, PA 15601 and installed by them 10/14/10. I am very up set over this. My door is now free standing with not latch for the wind to blow off.
Sincerely,
Judith MacKenzie

hide-a-screen replacement screen
I needed the replacement window and screen for the hide-a-screen storm door. Mine was built in 2006. The model was updated in 2008.
I ordered the parts. The first one didn't work because it wasn't the right one, I ordered 2 more, one for practice, one to use.
I spoke to support, she said she was sending one out free of charge. I never received it. I did get the two I paid for.
On installation day I had to call support because the new screen ends were not correct. I was told that I could no longer order parts using the serial number Required to order parts off my door. The kits I ordered are wrong! They are for the 2008 and later door.
Why there is not a webpage update stating there is a new model is odd. I guess people just don't keep doors long enough to need replacement parts. (I think Larson allows 10 yrs production parts.
So I am out the price of the initial screen and window. Then 2 more screen replacements that are no longer usable or returnable. I was told I would get the latest screen for free. (Not Free-I'm not a paid pro, this costs time and money for me)
larson storm door
In July, 2011, I purchased a Comfort-Bilt 32" Highland White Storm Door from Lowe's and had them install it. A few years later, I noticed that the aluminum on the inside of the door was starting to crack and peel. When I located my receipt and relevant paperwork ( July 17, 2019), I went to Lowe's with the documentation and photos. I was advised to contact...

I purchased a Larson storm door because I wanted a high-quality door that would last for years. I am disappointed. First the door handles started to wear badly the first year. I could live with that. The bottom of the door has started to flake like it has moisture inside it. When I touch it, it just peels off. It's more noticeable on the inside of the door, but I can see it crumbling on the outside as well. Because of this defect, I am going to have to replace my "high-quality" door before I can sell my home. I should have purchased an inexpensive no-brand door.
storm door
I purchased a Larson storm door a couple years ago. A contractor installed it and things seemed fine for the first year.
Recently I notice the plastic clips holding the glass and screen in place slipping within the frame. A little while ago I once again tried to move them where they belong but they wouldn't stay in place, even after I added some wedges to help them work.
Now they have become brittle and broke, making my door useless.
When I contacted Larson they said I would have to purchase something completely different than what came with the door to make it work.
I paid for the parts but promised them I would never buy another Larson product.
I hope anyone considering buying a door from this company will due some investigating and realize their original purchase may not be a complete product and you could end up spending more to be able to use it as intended.
Very dissatisfied with their customer service and support.
door size
I paid 35.00 for a measurement for a Larson's
Storm door with pet door
On the floor they were 32, 34, 36.
Unfortunately my door is a 30"
Your price was 477.00 and no retractable screen
Just a push-up glass.
I said that is outrageous and she said that's the price for a custom door
I think it should not be a custom door because my door doesn't conform to the "normal " door size
It would cost a total of 720.00 including installation. I think you don't realize that impact on my income 401k of 876.00 monthly income. I am sorry my house is too old for you and I plan to let others know your greed in customizing a door 2 inches. You are not a favorite of my anymore.
Thank you very much for your time and a dissatisfied long time customer

larson secure elegance storm door
Larson definitely doesn't stand behind their product. I purchased one of their Larson Secure Elegance Full View Storm Door from Lowes for well over $300.00 and now two years later the closure has failed and they states that's not covered under warranty, actually based on what they are telling me with their so called Customer Service they stand behind very little on their doors. If someone knows of a better built storm door where they actually cover the parts for more than one year please let me know - I will not be buying Larson Doors anymore.
storm door
Bought brand new storm door, and within a month the storm slams shut as the essential part is not working called Larson 11/11/17 and they were suppose to ship, new part within seven days, called today and was told part back ordered, now door slams every time, so much on part coming on time.
Brand new door installed two months ago, customer service really is pitiful at Larson. They act like they just do not care.
storm door
They don't back their product. I was sold a door with a defective screen and they sent me a replacement screen which can't be fixed because the plastic piece that holds it is broken. It is a bran new door that I bought from Window Rama and neither company backs their product. I can't even call Larson because they keep you on hold forever and when they finally answer they are not helpful. Don't buy Larson.
exhausting handle kit replacement and refund experience
I had a storm door handle break off at a rental property. Tried calling into a representative, but the Larson customer service line always says that "all representatives are busy". Email the customer service inbox in which I describe the issue and provide the door registration information. They email back to use their online shop to purchase the new kit...
Read full review of Larson Manufacturingpoor design and bad advice from lowes
I custom ordered a Larson Signature Full View storm door from Lowes after discussing with the Millwork salesman. My first complaint is with the Millwork "expert" who was no expert at all. I specifically told this fellow I wanted a pre-hung door, which he assured me this was, and that the frame had to fit into a 36" wide aluminum frame, which he assured me it would. He was wrong on both counts. You have to assemble this frame as it comes in pieces, hang the door yourself, and it needs a 1/8" over 36" wide doorway to fit properly. I kept the door and made it work, even though I could not use the latch rail side of the frame and had to jury-rig that side of the door to seal it against weather. Plus the door was not entirely square (it has a concave bow in the center) and the latch mechanism is poorly designed. I custom-ordered a left-hinge door, and the supplied mechanism must be mounted so you lift up on the door handle instead of pushing down to open it, so in order to customize it for a left hinge, Larson apparently simply flipped the right hinge style and changed the latch position. This is unacceptable. I am very disappointed, both in the incompetence of the Millwork expert at the Apache Junction Lowes, and in the marginal quality of the door. No more Larson doors for me. When we can afford to we will replace this door. I wonder what Home Depot sells?
I just had a Larson storm door installed and the design is terrible to say the least...I do not reccomend buying the the door with the retractable screen as it leaves open an area that bugs can fall onto a ledge and can't get them selves out.. I hate this door.. It's disgusting to see this pile of bugs every morning... I contacted the company and got a less than brilliant response back saying they were sorry I was unhappy but that it is possible bugs can get around moving parts... Huh? No moving parts... The frame is made so that the bugs fall in there and pile up...LOTS OF BUGS...every night! It's disgusting... I wanted a new pretty door... Just replaced an older door that was about 30 years old that was made very well, was much heavier than this door... Little did I realize when I shopped for a door I had to look it over well and think about gee... Will bugs fall in there and accumulate? This is a very bad design... My next stop is back to lowes to talk with the store manager... I want a full refund and I also want them to refund the labor I paid to install this piece of crap... They can fight with Larson to get their money from them... This door was desined by a box of rocks and shouldn't be on the market..
I bought a new 36" Larson Storm Door from Lowe's. The package contained a 32" Drip guard for the top of the door which leaves a large gap. I have tried to call but no option to talk to a live person. I have left messages and 2 emails over a period of a week and have yet to be contacted. It is June in south GA and summer showers every other day. I have the hole covered in duct tape and cannot use the door at all.
Our Larson storm door handle has worn out because of the design. The inside handle has two rivets on which the latch pivots. The rivets are loose and appear to be the problem of not allowing the latch to completely retract so it gets past the inside stop. Such a handle should last for years and years. Poor design!
hinges fall apart
This is the second larson storm door that I have purchased. Both times the hinges gave out and fell apart at the top of the door. I wrote to larson and they have no response. These doors aren't meant to handle the stress of a 36" door and the hinges will always fall apart with time. The engineering for these doors is poor which causes the quality of the door to be unreliable and very poor.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I am a 59 disabled woman living in florida hurricane season is approaching and my so called larson screen/storm window outdoor is rotting. I have no funds to replace, this is bad business. I tried to access their website and can't. To get the phone number.
I am having the same problem, "HINGES" all are broken except one. I am not going to let them get away with it either. They offered me a kit and I must get someone to repair the
door myself. Lowe's hung the door wrong and that's their responsibility. I just hope no one
gets hurt before this is resolved. I hope people get smart and not purchase their products. They have blocked the warranty policy on the home page so you cannot read it. That's
strange!
My hinges fell apart also. I bought this door because it came with a lifetime warranty. Larson says the hinges are not covered. The guy at Lowes told me that Larson does not cover anything under warranty. DO NOT BUY LARSON PRODUCTS!

storm door deterioration
We have eight exterior doors with Larson storm doors installed. These were bought at local lumber yards within the last five years. Three of these doors have "bubbled" and deteriorated at the bottom, obviously due to moisture affecting what appears to be chip board cores. The posters here who have commented that Larson doors are wonderful and that the doors with problems were "exposed to the elements" obviously are not in touch with reality. Storm doors are by their nature "exposed to the elements". The problem is that the doors were not properly designed to prevent water infiltration on the bottom, and that the core material should have been something more waterproof than chip board. These door are fine other than for the deterioration on the bottom. And no, the homeowner should not have to apply beads of silicone to prevent this - the door should have integral resistance to normal exposure during heavy rains and wind.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Sorry I meant to say "doors"
Try going to dispute.modria.com and filing a case there. You and person you bought the dog from can enter into an online dispute resolution process for free. You can ask for a mediator to help settle the case or an arbitrator to make a decision as well. Hope it turns out well for you :)
failure to honor warranty
Came home to my outside door flopping around, still latched. The 6 foot tall glass insert had simply fallen out of it and smashed all over my deck and steps. I called the company and they proceeded to tell me that it was wind damage, and that they won't warranty the door because of the wind, and that they don't warranty the glass. I told them "I can see where the screws were supposed to be, and they weren't fastened into anything. So, I've taken pictures, and I highly doubt they'll do anything about it. The customer service rep was very nonchelant and could have cared less. Great company, thats for sure. I'll never purchase another product from them.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Absolutely would not purchase Larson storm doors again. The front door panel, which sees the little use, has cracked and buckled in less than one year. Just now, the pneumatic closing device just fell off. Larson will not do a thing. These were not the most inexpensive doors, mind you.
The previous doors had been on the house for 20 years.
