Plumbing issue
I am so disappointed and frustrated with the service today. The plumber just left. $450 later and my issue isn't resolved. He didn't attempt anything less invasive or expensive before clearing the main line which did not need to be cleared. He went on to tell me that he would need to try the auger in the toilet and that would be an additional amount, which...

I called to have a gas oven installed. They would not give me a quote over the phone. Today the service man installed. He was here a little over 1/2 hour, Installed the gas line, plugged in the electric outlet and tested the burners. For this I was charged $384. I am 82 living on social security. I feel I was price gouged and was taken advantage of as a senior citizen. This is an account of severe overcharging. I feel I should receive some sort of rebate.
sump pump installation
We had our sump pump replaced by these guys. They couldn't reconnect it to the sewer line do to code which I understand. So their solution run the line out the front of the house above ground next to my front door and into my rain garden which is now a pond. Also the pump vibrates so loudly it can be heard on the second floor. My wife fought with the tech about this and he said I could fix the noise by putting a board and a strap on the pipe, and he couldn't bury the line because it was almost 5 PM. She wrote him the check anyway, we definitely didn't get a detailed invoice.
I called to complain and the lady was very nice, sympathized with me...even said we definitely don't want to drive down your property value. She agreed to send a tech on Saturday to fix it free of charge. The tech came out and tried to tie the line back into the sewer line in the basement. When I told him that it was a code violation he explained that it would back into the utility sink first and asked me if I ever had an issue. I said no but pushed back since two plumbers had told me you can't discharge into the sanitary system. We went outside to look at the pipe, and found a gutter pipe that runs to a french drain. He said he would run the pipe above ground to the drain, when I asked him to bury it he said he didn't have enough pipe.
Then the service manager calls. He says he wants the same tech who came and did the original work to come back out on Monday. Neither my wife nor I can miss work to deal with this again. He pushes back, I send photos, he tells me its unreasonable for me -a small business owner myself- to not allow the same tech to come back Monday. They leave without fixing the loud vibration in the house, no resolution on the pond. Leaving me and my family to deal with this some other way. These guys are the worst. I can understand not covering the hole cost of the service if it were a huge expense, however, I am not going to pay to undo and redo work that was simply done terribly the first time around. I also don't deserve to be left with this mess in my yard, told I am unreasonable for not closing my business for a day to come home and deal with the tech who fought with my wife the first time he was here. What a joke.
plumbing services
A little over a month ago my father in law had contacted Len The Plumber to come to his home to replace a 55 year old toilet. The plumber told him it would cost over 1700.00 to put in a new toilet. Just a toilet nothing else. So for 681.00 he replaced the interiors of the old toilet. I knew immediately that he was over charged. So I contacted 3 other plumbing companies to get them to give me estimates. They all quoted between 275.00 and 375.00 for a brand new toilet to be installed. When I gave a bad review len the plumber said someone would be in touch with me. Still no one had contacted me yet!
poor quality, over price and poor customer service - never again!
ALERT! Jan 3, 2017. Poor quality service, over price and poor customer service. Recently, I contacted Len the Plumber due to a leaky faucet at my kitchen sink. I called to get a quote for faucet replacement and they just inform me that they will provide the pricing at the time of the visit. Since I was busy at work I told my husband to work with the plumber hoping this company is good and trustworthy. To replace a faucet with a new one to fix the leak the company charge us 325 dollars too much a faucet installation (labor only). I wish I went with Home Depot installation for only 125 dollars. I bought the faucet myself at home depot. Then we asked to check the water pressure of the house then next thing I know the tech suggested to my husband to replace the water pressure value even thought its not broken. He informed my husband that it should be replace because its old not because it's broken. That cost us another 475 dollars. As I arrived home later that afternoon same day, I noticed that faucet is too loose. My question was do Len the Plumber have quality assurance on their work? When I called the next day, the customer service was nasty and unprofessional, no sense of urgency to assist me as a customer. She told me that there's no manager to talk to and it will take 48 hours before they can get back to me. Now, I have a wiggly faucet on my kitchen and I have to wait 2 days before they can schedule to correct the problem. I spent almost 800 dollars for poor service. I will never use this company again. Better to call Jeeves or Rotor Rooter if you want good pricing and quality service. Never again!
backup not cleared
Back in September, Len the Plumber sent out a kid to clear my main line. So called kid plumber was cocky and didn't clear the line. He also messed up house by performing unnecessary work because he didn't listen to me.
He removed the upstairs toilet, which by the way isn't working right still. He dragged the machine upstairs and downstairs throughout my house unnecessarily. He would not listen and finally when he did take the machine outside to the main line, he still didn't get it cleared. Despite his "If I can't get it cleared, then no one can". He used my extension cords and didn't roll them up. The machine left nasty pieces of stool in various areas. When he opened the value in basement he allowed it to spill all over the rec room. He didn't clear the line, he created unnecessary disgusting waste in various areas. etc. He refused to clean up any of the filth he created.
Then refused to leave w/o me paying $444
repair/replace main sewer pipe from street to house
The replacement sewer line was installed at my sister's house in Alexandria, VA (Jean Plaskett at 204 W. Mt. Ida Avenue) in early July. The contractor dug several holes to install the pipe. They left a hole at the edge of my sister's driveway around the end cap of the pipe. They filled in the hole with the cement chunks dug out of the driveway and finished the hole off with blue gravel. I wrote them a letter on 6 Sep 2017 that the way they left this hole open and filled only with gravel was unsatisfactory and we wanted them to cover the hole with cement and smooth it out to meet the rest of the adjacent driveway. They also left a pile of dirt and told my sister they planted grass there but all that came up were weeds. I asked them to plant some ground cover there. To date there has been no response from LenThePlumber to either my letter or to my sister.
plumbing
There was no investigation of my chronic leak. A patchwork job was done with only a partial placement of a overflow repair. Another company (CroppMetcalfe, which I equally don't recommend for not holding their appointments) said only the top was changed and not the bottom. They came back out to snake my drain only for the leak to be ongoing. I made a complaint about at least a refund for the overflow repair with no reply.
overpricing
Use these bozos only in a dire, repeat dire, emergency. I called and set up service only to find out the day of the service they are a cash on delivery service. Also got an absurd estimate for repairs and a faucet set quote of $600. What, for a kryptonite faucet with diamond inlays? Same day? Forget it. Tried to work with management after getting a bunch of lip from the plumber, but all the supervisors were "in a meeting" and did not bother to return my phone call once out of their "meeting". Took the time to get another plumber who gave me best case/worse case estimates that were both $500 cheaper than what the Len the Plumber rep quoted. GIVE SOMEONE ELSE YOUR BUSINESS.
not even working for me they were bad and rude to me
Len the Plumber was hired by my opposite neighbor a week ago.
51 Overbrook Road in Catonsville. They worked there on Friday March3rd. When they were done, they left their excavator on my green area, in front of my house which is opposite the street from the house they worked. The huge creature sat there unattended, unmarked all weekend March 4th and 5th. See what it looks like. They came back on Monday March 6. They caused substantial damage in the grassy area in front of my house while removing the vehicle. I talked to the driver of the excavator - he said it was not him who left it there. I called the company - she was polite I explained that this needs to be remedied, she said she will let the management know. % days have passed, no fixing, no apology, nothin. See attached pictures. Disrespectful, destructive, unprofessional and rude.
plumbing
I had a leaking toilet tank and suspected that it might just be a loose
nut, but was more concerned about quickly stopping the leak and preventing
water intrusion, through the baseboard of the bathroom tile floor, into the
wall and ceiling below. So, I quickly turned off the.water and scooped out
what was left in the tank and called the Len the Plumber 703-number for
Alexandria, VA. Robert came out the next day, June 3, 2016, first sat in his
van for about 5-10 minutes before ringing the door bell, then, after
confirming my diagnosis of the loose nut on the protruding exterior bottom
of the fill valve, had to go back to his van again to get his cellphone for
illumination. He then tightened the nut, charged me $110.00 for 30 seconds
of actual work, had difficulty using his cellphone to charge my credit card
until finally, to get him out of the house, I wrote him a check. His total
presence in my home, confirmed by my house cleaner who was also present, was
not more than 10 minutes. I then observed him sitting in his van for another
10 minutes or more, first in my driveway, then in my neighbor's, all
ostensibly intended to increase his clocked time. $110.00 for a 30-second
job is simply criminally outrageous!. Based on this experience, I can only
characterize this service as an unmitigated, inexcusable rip-off. Stay away,
as will I! Lesson learned!"
plumbing
My husband and I contracted Len the Plumber through the technician Tim Profili to replace a broken sewer line on Monday, January 25, 2016. We decided to hire his company's service against another company because he promised to do the job the next day. By Tuesday, Tim called to reschedule the job to Wednesday because he claimed they needed more time to get together manpower and logistics. By Wednesday, Tim called again to reschedule the job for the second time to Thursday, claiming he needed a “sign off from the neighbors”, and that “we cannot come out there unless there's a signature on the sign off”. I asked Tim when I talked to him why he could not secure that signature himself when he and his team, including his supervisor Kara, came to survey the area. His response was, “Well they're your neighbors”. I do not understand why he did not ask for their signature when he talked to three of my neighbors the day we signed the contract and we paid him upfront 1/3 of the total cost of $5839 on January 25, 2016 upon his insistence. Tim even told us that day, January 25, that he asked our neighbor's permission for him to park Len the Plumber vehicles and equipment on their parking space. I personally find it very unprofessional of Tim to talk to our neighbors about our problem and put our private business out to the community. We talked to his supervisor Kara, who admitted she was in our neighborhood on Tuesday to survey the place, and we asked her why is it that she didn't ask our neighbors' signature when she was in the area. She brusquely replied that it was our job and that “we don't have any contact information”. Both our neighbors were at home the entire day on Tuesday when Kara surveyed the area, which means she could have easily knocked on their doors to secure their signature. It stated on the contract we signed that Len the Plumber will obtain the required permits and contracts. Both Tim and Kara stated that they will not come to do the job unless we have the waiver signed. I told her that she herself could ask for my neighbors' signature on Thursday before they start the work. She was adamant that we do it and NOT her or Tim. I could feel her outright refusal – the message being they will not repair our sewer pipe unless WE have our neighbors sign off. When I asked her why a signature is needed, she initially replied that Len the Plumber will need to use our neighbors' lawn to place the dirt that they will dig from our yard. Tim said on Monday, January 25, that the only place they will dig is on OUR lawn and that no pavement will be dug up and that whatever dirt they dig will be placed on a truck. Now here is Kara telling us, on the second day that the work has been rescheduled, that Len the Plumber will dig on our neighbors' lawn and dig even through their pavement because “It's 12 feet deep; that's a huge space!”. This was not what Tim told us when we signed the contract. I feel that we have been misled, and that there was a misrepresentation of the actual problem and the job that Tim proposed to do, and that both Kara and Tim's insistence on us getting out neighbor's signature, NOT THEM, is their way of washing their hands from the responsibility of Len the Plumber destroying our neighbor's property.
complaint/ dont work for these guys
Worse Company I ever worked for, they are all about sales, Please be aware that all the Techs are required to upsale there products that are overpriced, Instead of worrying about quality work I was routinely told once you get in people house sell, sell even if they dont need, sell it to them, they have there system set up so if you dont make sells you are not making any money so your pay check will reflect it and eventually you will be FIRED!, And you better keep your truck inventory right or they will hold your check and they dont tell you this when you about to get hired, , Again worse company thats why they have to keep advertising because they dont have customers

Overcharges customers
Had a clogged toilet two days before thanksgiving. Called len the plumber and got an appointment for wednesday morning at 9:00 am. They called that morning and reported they were running behind, and rescheduled for the afternoon. Around two pm they arrived. They pulled the toilet and snaked it. About two hours later and several extended visits to the truck the man returned and reported they would have to return on friday because they could not clear the blockage. So $450 dollars and hours later I was left with what I started with.
Friday morning the estimate ballooned to an additional $450 (Total of $900) with extra charge to cut into a wall to gain access to the sewer stack and run an auger from there. The technician seemed quite well versed in upselling a very routine plumbing problem. The only transparent part about the experience was the technician clearly saw dollar signs when he showed up. Very unhappy with the company's policy to find ways to charge for unnecessary and duplicate interventions. Why are you insisting on charging for snaking the second time when your delayed technician was the reason the job could not be completed on day one? I paid for the first day's work and sent them away.

scam
I contacted Len the plumber to disconnect a gas dryer. I asked three times for a quote but was assured the tech would be fair. After having to reschedule they still refused to provide me a quote for such a simple 5 minute job. They showed up late and attempted to scam me by charging $260! I let him have it for such shady practice. He claimed to go outside & talk to his supervisor & came back 15 minutes later with $160. I advised him I was in law enforcement and this was a scam & booted him out my home. Ten minutes later I contacted another plumber who immediately quoted me $120!' Stay away from Len the plumber. There are plenty of honest companies out there just stay away from Len

product and service scam
Len the Plumber checked my water heater and stated that it needed to be replaced at a cost of $1300. They gave me a high pressure sales pitch. I had a second plumber test the water heater and he found that it was working great.
Earlier, Len the Plumber had replaced parts of the water heater at a cost of $400. I had one of those parts tested and it was also working fine.
Len the Plumber was running a scam.
ridiculous pricing
I need to get the wax ring for my toilet replaced ($1.95 part cost at Home Depot). I called Len the Plumber and made an appointment. As money is tight I called back to get an estimated price for replacing the wax ring and re-setting the toilet. He skirted around the price issue the whole time we talked stressing the quality of work and comfort of having a large company doing the work. He asked me what I thought it should cost and I said $100-125. He chuckled and said feel free to call us back if you want it done right. I then said..."so, you are not going to give me a price". He said to have a nice day. RUDE The plumber came out and within 5 minutes gave me a price of $255.00...REALLY. He said it was the industry standard and showed me the pricing book. I spoke to 2 other independent plumbers and both said it was a $100 job at best. I went on line and watched a video on how to replace the wax ring and completed the job myself for $5.97 (the cost of a new reinforced wax ring and new closet bolts from Home Depot). My suggestion: call anyone but Len the plumber and if you are up to the challenge view a video or read a book and do the job yourself and save money
GIVE IT A BREAK! Toilets and other plumbing problems have a particular urgency for repair so it doesn't leave a lot of time the to research the BEST WAY. That leaves the door for open price gouging, which, when a plumber charges 300 per hour to replace a wax ring on a toilet, is what it's called (and is what happened to me). Don't give me the crap about licensed, insured, ordained, master, plumber doctors and skid prices on toilet rings. You roll the dice the first time you call a contractor for anything
And you hope you get treated fairly from a price and performance standpoint. When you don't, you [censor] about it, tell everyone you know, and never use them again. I know what it takes to replace a a wax ring, have done it myself, and 700.00
(my bill) was WAY WAY WAY too much. It was just lousy timing that I couldn't do it myself and at the same time, couldn't have a leaking toilet...So, LEN the plumber is WAY overpriced to the extent of price GOUGING
people, stop calling electricians, plumbers, roofers, and start doing it yourself, build your own car, your own house, and maintain them yourself, when the engine in your car burns up, rebuild it yourself! 7 eleven mechanics always say they can do something for you for less then a liscensed plumber or electrician, roofer, or any 1 with years of experience, and a liscence do back it up. So next time you call some one because YOU CAN'T DO IT YOUR SELF, keep that in mind. Why don't you tell your doctor he way to expensive? Len The Plumber and all the LICENSED AND INSURED personnel he has working for him have more experience then you or YOUR UNLICENSED, AND NO REAL EXPERIENCE PEOPLE have. So either do the job yourself, or get unlicenced, uninsured, and the idots that can't back there work, to do it for you. By the way, i doubt he pays 1.75 for a wax ring for your water closet, he buys by the skid. the price of the part isnt what you should worry about, the fact a licensed and insured plumber is what your paying for.
overcharge
On the day before Thanksgiving 2010, I had a water faucet that would not turn off. It was flowing continuously and I could not turn it off even below the sink. Called several plumbers and Len the Plumber said they would come late that afternoon. Their estimate was $356 to do a job that took a little over an hour. I felt like I had no choice unless I wanted my faucet to flow for 5 or more days. They took advantage of me by overcharging me close to double what it should have cost. MD Attorney General can do nothing because there is no consumer protection law to prevent overcharging by businesses in MD. So much for being in a progressive state. Len the Plumber is a ripoff company.
Sadly, this is typical in MD. We have lived here for 11 years and the difference between MD and Northern VA is night and day...you will pay 3-4 times more in MD for the same service. There is no competition, they all have the same (over)price schedule. Not sure why that is.
I do not like Len the Plumber or there managers, Len is a good guy, When I see someone write crap like this I have to ask 1 or 2 questions, there was no overtime rate or holiday pay they came right out, You said you were DOUBLE CHARGED, 1ST QUESTION, COULD YOU FIX IT? NO, Who was the one that told you, you were over charged? another plumber, just to make you feel as though they would have charged half the price or to make you feel bad that you actually had someone come to your house in and emergency that had the knowledge to do what you couldn't do, then comes the assnine complaints, as I said I have worked there and do not like the co. But you sir, mam are and ### for even saying what you have said, I hope for you that something else breaks that you of course can not fix and you call the guy that told you you were double charged and he puts you through the ringer and takes every dime from you, maybe right before it is time for you to do christmas shopping and you won't be able to get your GI JOE because not only did the idot plumber tell you you were over charged but everytime he comes to you and jacks up the price on you, which i know once Len the plumber gives you a price that is the price no extras, and then the so called cheaper plumber is just that and when he walks out the door what ever he had to fix breaks and floods your home and he won't come back because he knowns he "F" ed up your house and took your money and never comes back then you will be thankful to call Len the Plumber you know the one that atleast backs up his work with a warranty, and has no problem having someone come out on a holiday day or night, you are the reason why most companies hate to knock on doors like you weasals just trying to put crap out about a co, that obvious did the work right, but you and your dumb self are just trying to screw them over and get your money back and still have your work professionally done, , , , what an ### you are, It's a shame the companies don't get to share our stories about idot customers like you,
&etimate&
This company charges for an "estimate" which takes less than 5 minutes and the recommendation was for me to pay them $170 to knock holes in my wall so they could "get a better look". I've since received two free estimates and the total job cost estimate is $120. Don't trust Len...he'll rip you off and while he does nothing.

For not quite a year now, I have complained to Chad at Len the Plumber about a plumping job that cost close to nine hundred dollars.
I will ALWAYS regret the day I trusted this company to fix my bathroom nobs and a faucet.
They have had to return because the tub handle would no longer turn, the nobs were coming off, the faucet was not the correct size, and the plastic hot and cold inserts keep coming off .
After the second time having these inserts fall out, I stated that these nobs were just junk and to replace them with something similar to what had worked for over fifty years.
WHen I spoke with Chad on March 29, 2010 he agreed to look for something better and get back with me on the following Friday April 2nd.
Did not get that call back and Called again on April 9, 2010 and asked to speak with Chad and was told he was unavailable.
I now have four nobs with visable holes where those inserts should be.
I even asked for my original nobs back and was informed that they had thrown them out!
What a nightmare.
Ready to contact the plumbing association and the better business bureau.
What an absolute mistake trusting this company.
Beware!

Len the Plumber messed up my next door neighbor's yard also.. They said they would come and take a look. It is a muddy mess all the way down my sidewalk and yard.I have not seen anyone yet. I will not sign off on the landscape waiver!
Like in any story there's to sides to it, it's very easy to destroy someone's reputation by just using the Internet and posting what ever one likes, and not present hard core evidence.
Hello, my name is Charles A. Putzeys, yes the one they accuse here in all this ranting above. The fact of the matter is that on the first post here above, the lady who posted will never tell you that I had told her in advance that I could never do the job for $600.00 or even $1000.00. I told her that we needed to get a leak detection company to inspect the floor/walls and find the leak. One was hired, and they did NOT FIND THE LEAK, they pin pointed a place, but it was the wrong place. at that time I told her that my previous estimate was no good any more, because if the leak was not behind the sink inside the wall, this old estimate it would have to be changed. Why because now we had to start from scratch and BREAK THE SLAB, that means to remove ALL THE flooring in the bathroom, with a jack hammer break concrete, replace the bad pipping, re-poor concrete. Re-install tile in all the bathroom, then install the toilet and the new sink. Let me say it again, I removed the sink and vanity, open the wall, did plumbing behind the wall, removed the toilet, removed all the tile around the toilet, AND FOUND THE LEAK ON THE SLAB. Then out of the monies that she wave me went and purchased a Total of $243.00 in Materials which I left at her house.
She had another estimate for $5000.00 (read above) My final estimate which I told her ahead of time was going to be for a Total of $2500.00 minus the $243.00 I had already spent on the supplies for the sink and vanity. But here's the thing, in my 32 years of doing business and knowing human nature, I have found that you will always find people that will try to take advantage of someone that works with his hands. I feel that I was very up-front with this lady, I told her in advance that the estimate could go up because we didn't know the intensity or place of the leak.
As for the other post here, I wish I would have known about the mirror that disappeared from their home, because if I would have known I would have inquire with my sub-contractors on the job. And as for the other parts of the complaint, I could tell you that, I was there checking twice a week. And yes we were doing the job during the rainy season, and could not force my workers when they just don't want to get wet.
As for over all job, they purchased ALL THE MATERIALS, THEY CHOSE THE SHOWER AND SINK NOBS, THE GROUT, THE TILE. I had no saying in what they wanted to buy because that was their budget that they were working with. As to the notion that I never sent the man back, this is just not true. He went back twice and fixed the small minor problem that they complaint about.
The project was massive remodeling of their bathroom, we removed a complete wall leading to their laundry room to move the shower to that room, it was massive plumbing because when we removed this wall we found about 7 to eight copper pipes coming out of the slab. We had to move them and rerouted through another wall, yes this was unsuspected and for that I told him is was going to be an additional $425.00, that he could pay me or get his own plumber but I guess he had asked around, because he took my price for this item right away. A plumber could and would charge up to $1500.00 for the same job.
I' posting some pictures of the finished job so that you can see how nice it came out, and how satisfied they were with my work, infact they told me that they would refer me to their friends and co-workers.
Charles A. Putzeys
My husband and I wanted to update our masterbathroom at a pretty reasonable price. We were prepared to pay out of pocket about $5, 000 (or maybe $6, 000 max) for the job, but finding a contractor (and a licensed one) was tough. Finally we found WHYPAYMOREHANDYMAN.COM and a licensed contractor by the name of Charles Putzeys.
When we sat down and wrote out the contract with Charles Putzeys, he assured us that we could trust his workmanship and that he could accomplish the job for $6, 000. He mentioned that we may only have to pay a couple hundred for the extra supplies, but that we could get a GREAT discount if we bought a lot of our supplies from a warehouse in Temple, Texas that he referred us to. Luckily, we already had some of the supplies we "thought" we needed and estimated a cost for the extra items prior to the contract.
In any event, in the beginning we were so excited. It seemed like a lot of progress was being made. Charles Putzeys had two other gentlemen do the work and he never stopped by to monitor progress or anything (I thought he was the one who had the license and not his workers?)
We paid him the money on time and it seemed to be going great...then we ran into a problem with piping and got charged another $600 on top of the $6, 000 we already owed. Every other day, one of the workers would call my husband and say that we needed to buy more supplies. The first big load we got from Lowes was about $350. The next couple days it varied between $60 to maybe $250 over a course of about 2 weeks or so. At first it didn't seem too bad, but by the end of the project we ended coming out of pocket over $10, 000! To make matters worse, his workers wouldn't show up some days (granted, a couple times it rained) but the other times we would wait and wait and NO ONE would show. By the last week of the project, the workers were gone for 5 of those days. It took them MUCH LONGER than we anticipated.
And now for the kicker...my husband and I spoke to the workers and made it VERY CLEAR that we wanted the door to open outward and NOT inward. We mentioned this SEVERAL times. And guess what happened? CHARLES PUTZEYS' WORKERS PUT THE DOOR NOT ONLY ON THE WRONG SIDE, BUT ALSO OPENING INWARD! I was so livid, but was so tired of the extended project. If they took it down they would have to re-do the whole door-way and walls and I just could not take it anymore. Everytime I see that door, I cringe.
After we thought the worse was over, after about 2 weeks of using the shower, there was a leaking between the walls which caused damage to the walls in the kitchen and one of our bottom kitchen cabinets. We called and emailed and called and emailed and Charles would "promise" us that he would send one of his workers over. That worker NEVER showed up. A month later, still no show. It took us 5 NO SHOWS before we got the worker to show up and there was NO PHONE CALL or contact made, he just showed up and caught me off guard. The culprit of the leak is that CHARLES'S WORKERS FAILED TO TIGHTEN THE PIPES WHICH CAUSED US MORE THAN 3 MONTHS DAMAGE TO WALLS AND CABINETS THAT WERE OTHERWISE IN GOOD CONDITION.
Now, after about 11 months there is cracking in the grout on the vanity and all around the shower. The grout is actually separating from the wall. Now we have MORE LEAKS. I have contacted Charles Putzeys about this because his workmanship has a 1 year guarantee as long as it is not the hardware at fault. Charles Putzeys has YET to contact me back. My husband and I believe that he will probably NOT say anything and allow the year mark to pass. Of course we sealed our grout and treated it as we were supposed to, but the cracks are VERY noticeable and water damage is slowly occuring.
So I would definitely say that anyone in the central Texas area should go with another contractor and NOT Charles Putzeys of WHYPAYMOREHANDYMAN, because in the end you WILL BE paying a lot more than you thought not just financially but also with shoddy work that is covered up real nice.
Oh, and did I mention that we had a very large mirror that has mysteriously disappeared since the completion of the project?
Bottomline, if you work with CHARLES PUTZEYS then you will be paying a lot more. Look elsewhere. He will make it seem like you're only paying a reasonable amount, but as the days and weeks progress he will find something else that needs to be tacked onto an already rising bill.
The folks who previously posted their complaint on this site about him couldn't have said it better. Take it from us and don't do what we did.
I had a plumber come into my home because I was told I had a slab leak . The company whypaymorehandyman.com owner Charles Putzeys . Mr Putzeys son work with me and he told me his father was license and he could do the work for me at a good price since I was told by another plumber it would be almost 5, 000.00 . Mr Putzeys came to my home told me the job would be 600.00 for him to fixed the problem to call him when I get the money . On sept 30th he came to my home told me he was going to pull out my sink to check for the leak . He said on the 1st of October. he would come with his son to check a little further for the leak . I gave him a 1000.00 so he could also bring back the sink he took out and what he needed to fixed the sink back in place..When he came on the 1st of Oct he took out the toilet let the hole in the floor from the toilet uncovered . The smell from my main bathroom was coming into my room into the rest of house when someone used the bathroom. He also told me I need another 1, 200.00 to get the job done . I have a 84 yr old mother who got sick for a copy of days, 66 yr old brother living with me . I am 61 yr old recovering cancer patient that work 5 days out of a week . I had to get someone to come and fix the problem that did not tear up my foundation of my house that charged me 600.00 and I have hot water now . He send me a bill for what he had did to take my sink from the wall and cut a hole in the water 575.00 to remove the toilet and take up some tile 195.00 the material to replace my sink that he left in my hall was 207.58 and adic plumbing inspection 75.00. Mr. Putzeys told me on the 1st of Oct I had about a 180.00 left from the 1000.00 now he is saying I owe him 52.58. He did not complete the job or did he give me a receipt when he got my money and he put a copy of the receipt for the sink and the material not the original receipts of what he paid ..I feel Like I have been taken advance of and this person should be reported .
Try Home Depot for replacement parts like descibed. I have been a master plumber for more than 35 years and would not have charge you anywhere near that price. For those $$ I would have installed new everything.
