To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to express my profound concern and dissatisfaction regarding the services provided under our recent contractual agreement with Lifetime Home Warranty. Additionally, I wish to address the considerable financial burden this arrangement has imposed upon my family.
On September 22, 2022, my family and I entered into a contractual agreement with Lifetime Home Warranty, spanning a period of 39 months, which would have ended at 3/22/26, at a total cost exceeding $3,500. This substantial financial commitment was paid in full upfront, a decision that significantly impacted our low-income household. Our decision to engage in this contract was underpinned by the anticipation of receiving exceptional services commensurate with the substantial financial investment we made.
Regrettably, our experience with Lifetime Home Warranty has fallen far short of our expectations. Throughout the duration of this contract, we have encountered a series of disconcerting issues and concerns, including but not limited to:
Unresolved claims for covered services that ultimately went to collections, causing undue financial distress. For instance, our washing machine broke down during a time when Lifetime Home Warranty was in the process of discontinuing its services. Despite receiving approval for the repair, the payment, totaling $722.12, was never made. This outstanding amount remains in collections, accruing late fees and penalties, exacerbating our financial hardship.
Promised services, such as pest control coverage, were not delivered as per the terms of the agreement. We hold written correspondence from your representative, Peter S. Collins, confirming the inclusion of full pest control coverage in our policy. However, we have not received the contracted pest control services, necessitating our expenditure on external pest control measures and yard maintenance.
The financial burden that these issues have imposed on our family is substantial, and it is disheartening to see our investment yield unfavorable outcomes. While we understand that every business may face challenges, we firmly believe that, as paying customers, we are entitled to the services and benefits promised to us.
In light of the above, we kindly request that you promptly review our situation and address the issues raised herein. Specifically, we seek a resolution to the outstanding bill for the washing machine repair, currently in collections and totaling $722.12. Additionally, we request reimbursement for the costs we incurred for external laundry services, which amounted to over $500 during the period when our washing machine was inoperative. We also request a total refund of the total contract cost due to it only being in use for 2 1/2 months. We additionally, request for the cost of what the quote of what "1st Choice Pest Control" quoted us at yearly which was $1510.00 for 3.5 years, for a total of $5,285.00. I lost out on that, and have had to pay for my own pest control, and yard clean up from the holes that have been dug by whatever it is that we have. That cost has been $1,593.12 and rises $132.76 per month, currently 30 months remaining - giving us an end date of 3/22/2026. I am also asking for $10/hour for the time that I have spent on getting all my ducks in a row, and finally finding where I can get something done on this emotional roller coaster you have sent my family and I through, which is 87 hours. which is $870. So the total refund I am currently asking for is $16.320.28
We appreciate your immediate attention to this matter and look forward to a swift resolution of our concerns.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Sincerely,
Desired outcome: Specifically, we seek a resolution, an apology, as well as seeking a refund of $16,320.28 the financial hardships experienced as a result of the contractual issues and failure to deliver promised services.
