Do not trust this company!
Do not trust this company! I tried to get on a plan when I retired and our rep. blatantly lied to us. We were told that the only plan available was over $100 a month and now, when we used a different company, I pay nothing. BUT, the rep. from Lumico never told us that if we don't get a drug/prescription plan, then I have to pay $2 a month forever. So, do not trust this company. The reps. are not educated and only worried about the bottom line instead of what's best for the client. Stay away!

I'm done with them they are pushy do not understand no now I'm having to change all my banking info because of these people! All I wanted was a simple quote! Not to be robbed of 300.00 dollars and for them to continue to lie to me about a refund I have been waiting for a refund of my money for 3 weeks, now they are saying an additional 20 days, seriously run from this company they are the worse!
I had a good experience with the customer service representative. He was very informative and explained everything to me clearly. However he told me I would be receiving some paperwork in the mail and I haven't received it yet.
I have been trying to settle my descest Mother's policy since February early 2021. The customer servcie reps are always nice but I just keep getting the run around over and over. I filled out the paperwork completely, gave them the name of all three of my Mom's doctors and returned everything in order. The company requested records to review from only two of the three doctors and told me they were not aware of the third doctor. Yes, yes you were I put it on the paperwork I sent you and kept a copy, let me send it again. They they sent me papers to authorize a records request as her executor, which I did, for them to tell me it was wrong even though I kept a copy of that form as well and it was missing nothing. The policy is not millions of dollars, my Mother paid her premiums and this run around and stringing out of this policy has made her death even more difficult for my family and I. I cannot seem to get any answers or decisions, only repeated letters stating they are still reviewing the policy. So frustrating and I would never recommend this company and wish my Mom would have done more research on them before starting her policy there.

The only thing bothered me was that the process was very long and involved to get to the final stage where I was accepted. My other item was the final papers that I received in the mail was that the only place where the beneficiary is listed is on a card. Some of the papers were missing important information such as beneficiary, Otherwise I would recommend this company as a good place to obtain Life Insurance that is affordable.

A new source for my wife and I, primarily, final expense insurance. Since we have only recently signed up with Lumico, our overall impression so far has been very good. Comparing pricing with Lumico and other companies was slightly better. Sign-up, explanation of the policy, terms etc was managed very well. Access and communication on-line to date has been flawless.
Easy to work with. Agent was very Knowledgable. Everything was done online.

If I could rate Lumico a zero I would. The reps constantly lie, there is no supervisor to speak to. No one calls back. They lie about information being faxed to you. I have spoken with Will, Becky, Syndey and one other idiot. Syndey claims that someone name Bob owns the company but don't know his last name. Lie upon lie from the horrible company. I am going to sue the [censored] out of everyone involved in holding up my niece's policy. Do not but a policy from this company, if your love one has a policy with them, cancel it immediately. The absolute worst company that I have ever dealt with.
Lumico has the worst customer service policy that I have ever experienced. Have waited 6 months for a life claim from an accident. My husband fell off a ladder. They said they are reviewing his medical records and they have no time limit when they plan to settle. They are only concerned about profits not customers. Worst customer service ever.

They keep getting paperwork screwed up on Who is suppose to sign what, got this case a damn mess when it should be over already, my mother has been dead for 9 months and we have yet to have services, incurring monthly late fee's we cannot pay from her cremation. The policy is so small, by the time they do pay, our cremation late fees will take it all, and we WONT EVEN BE ABLE TO HAVE A SERVICE Just Dragging their feet making the agony of losing my mother more despairing than neccessary!

Policy *** So my mother passed back in the middle of February. We contacted the insurance company right away. As of today June 17, we have not recieved any source of financial payment from Lumico. It has been countless phone calls, emails, faxes, etc of vital pieces of information to complete this ordeal. Lumico have turn this already devastating lost into a a over extended traumatic process. From "overvieweing", to "waiting on response from Hospitals, doctors" I mean you name it, they never seem to have anything ever done on their part. Losing a parent was hard enough, and she was worth gold to my family. But how you have treated her case, and loved will not be tolerated.

My 70 year old mother was left to bury her older brother who never married and had no children. She took his Lumico life policy to the funeral home and they would not take this policy after talking to them over the phone. My own mother and her sister had to pay OUT OF POCKET for his funeral. This has put a huge financial stress on our family. We get no answers when we call the Lumico office and it's obvious we are getting the run around with no end in sight. After reading all the ONE star complaints on this site I'm worried for my family. We can not wait 6 to 9 months for our policy to be reviewed by a case worker. We are talking thousands of dollars paid out of pocket upfront to the funeral home. Looking into getting a lawyer to help with filing with the department of insurance against this company.

The funeral home had to call and finally the papers were faxed to them for me to sign. My uncle had been paying on them for a while the funeral home called back and said he only has 678 dollars and they also told them they don't have to pay that they could fight. And If we did get it we could be waiting 6 months. This company is a scan. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone now his family have to figure out how we are going to have a funeral.

My mother recently passed away, August . The policy was two months shy of two years when she passed. I'm told this is why there is a delay. And the gentleman told me that there no time limit when making a decision because of the two months short fall. (Seriously, NO time limit). She has a very small policy with this company. After waiting several months for a decision, everyone at the phone number listed on the letter is clueless. One time, I'm told they have all the information and waiting on a decision (but they don't have the name of the person working on the claim) and two weeks later, I'm told they don't have all the information they need. The person I spoke with didn't have anyone else I couldn't speak with and he didn't know the address or phone number of the home office. As soon as I heard my sister sold her this policy, I cringed! That's why I'm not surprised about the problem.

I have worked with several insurance companies during the last 7 years processing them at our funeral home. I must say LUMICO is by far the most difficult company to work with. You can't get a straight answer from any customer service rep. Not one rep actually spoke like they had any clue what was going on. Each rep promised they were "taking care of things". Over a week and still no answers, this is not how any of the other life insurance companies operate. They promise you the moon, take your premium payment each month, and when you need them, what do you get? PROBLEMS! We are here working with a family that is grieving, a family that is also LUMICO's "client" one would think LUMICO would have the decency to make this a smooth process to help alleviate further stress on a family, that is why one gets life insurance!

Horrible. My father passed away suddenly on 11/25. Today is Jan 21, 2021 and my mother has yet to receive anything. We faxed AND sent via overnight *** all the original documents & completed forms they requested. Delivery confirmation shows it was received by them on Jan 4, 2021. Everything was also mailed to them via regular mail. To this day, they are still claiming they didn't receive anything, and even accused us of lying about *** overnighting the package. Once I gave them the tracking info & delivery confirmation, then they said they still don't have anything. They are simply sitting on the money drawing daily interest. I am instructing our attorney to demand they pay my mother the daily interest from the date they received everything 1/4 through the date they decide to pay the claim. Their treatment of a bereaved family is shameful. If you have this as your life insurance policy, you might want to reconsider. They are happy to take your money but they sure don't want to pay when the time comes.

worst customer service EVER. My mom bought a $5,000.00 life insurance policy for my father who died this past Friday. She has been trying to file a claim to get the money so we can pay for the funeral with assistance of funeral home. When the funeral called they were told they could not discuss anything with them and that my mom would need to call. So my mom called the life insurance co and they told her they couldn't discuss the details of the policy with her without the funeral home director being on the call. So mom and i go to funeral and make the call there. The insurance claim person (dawn) was on speaker phone. She was so [censored]ing rude and disrespectful. Told my mom and funeral director she couldn't discuss the claims details with them because of some "paperwork" that needed to be filled out. Its very clear this insurance ompany does not want to pay out the benefits due to my mom. AVOID using this company for life insurance. They are rude, disrespectful and condescending. Never in my life have I heard such disrespectful attitude to a grieving widow. They need to be sued and we are ready to do that if they don't pay out the benefit to my mom.

I was very pleased when Lumico approved my husband's life insurance policy
I was very pleased when Lumico approved my husband's life insurance policy. It's a small one, but we had no insurance on him and needed it. But that's where my kudos end. The very nice young man who signed us up on the phone asked if we wanted the Health Rider. His explanation made it sound as if the policy contained Living Benefits. He also said our policies came with free *** watches. Zero explanation as to the strings attached. Today, I received a vague letter for both my husband and myself that our policies were being terminated since we had not provided the information requested. Having no idea what that meant, I called Customer Service and spoke to a very nice rep who told me that since we have not activated the watches and are not wearing them daily, and submitting monthly reports on our activity, the Health Rider was being cancelled. I explained that none of that was mentioned and that I'm extremely hesitant to provide that much personal information to whomever it was going to. She said that was fine, I could just send the watches back. I asked what would happen if I didn't send them back. She said *** would charge me. I will never do business with this company again and won't pay *** anything. I do have to keep the policy on my husband since we need to have him covered. Seriously, who would comply with these outrageous stipulations?
