cancellation of membership
This has been my second time using Match.com once in 2013 and again in 2017 and have to say I'm extremely disappointed in their customer service. I chose to do the fee trial subscription for a limited time. I understood at the completion of the trail service I would be charged. They advertised a monthly fee after the expired trail. I guarantee you the amount wasn't advertised wasn't $101.94 I cancelled my subscription online via the request thru my profile the beginning of the year. Now, 3 months later they have charged $101.94 on my credit card and will not credit my account. Their reasoning was that when I cancelled the subscription, the cancellation notification failed to return a confirmation. I had no idea it didn't go thru as I wasn't seeing a charge on my credit card so that's why I was shocked to see the transaction show up 2 months later. In a word of technology and especially with online dating you would think some kind of report would come back to them to show a failure of notification. I know of a few people that have found matches on this website and I'm not saying there is anything wrong with the people on the site, I gave it two chances and have come to the conclusion that online dating is not for me. So after no use on my profile, I checked it to see and it has the word "reactivate" next to profile pick. Why would that be an option if my account was requested to be cancelled.
Would I recommend them again? Absolutely not! What I can tell you in the world of online dating there are some bad apples in the bunch that do not represent being truthful and now the online dating service can be added to that kind of bunch. So how do you like them kind of apples?
dating site
I signed up on Match sometime late January for their 6 month package. After a few months decided to cancel 3/29. I removed my pictures, profile and changed my user name. To my understanding the acct was still mine until 7/15. if I wanted to come back.
Today I received the below email from Match:

Of course you can not email or talk to anyone on weekends, can't even get an email to send.
So let me get this straight, they allowed someone to change my email and add a profile without my authorization. Yet send an email to the rightful owner of that account?! Doesn't make any sense at all to me. Now this person has access to my account information.
Match has no clue about security or running a business. It all seems quite shady to me. I know one other person this has happened to and am sure there are many others. The email this person used isn't even legit. Cool site.net? Tried to go there and it's a circle jerk, doesn't connect.
I urge everyone to stay away from Match!
I went on match because a friend recommended it - her mother found her current husband there, and another friend of hers met a bloke she's in a serious relationship with.
I am clearly entirely unattractive, however, and it was a massive waste of money, because the only bloke who contacted me was somewhat overkeen, saying I was the one for him when he didn't know anything more about me than what was on my profile - we hadn't even had more than a very brief conversation because i did a deep search on him using RootGateHacks, they provide the best in monitoring, remote access, infidelity investigations, PIs and so on. You can google them for more information
It says that I am blocked and for me to call you for help

I didn't even sign up for their service and was charged $119.00. It was deducted from my debit card and how they got the number I don't know. I had to cancel my card, reissue a new one and wait until if the charge was going to go through. If it does, then I need to dispute the charge as fraud. In the meantime, my rent and other bills will be delinquent and late charges applied. I didnt even receive a email stating the charge was deducted from my account.
being charged after I ended my membership
I canceled my membership over 6 months ago and I recently discovered I've been being charged $ 51.00 per month. After speaking with a customer service representative and being unsatisfied, I requested speaking with a supervisor. It was relayed the system did not provide for transfer to a supervisor. I requested an alternate telephone number for a supervisor being advised there are none (?). Others should be very careful when canceling. They have all of your information and try and tell you that you automatically renewed. I will now be writing to the CEO. They will easily be able to review my account and see it was not used during that time. I am very dissatisfied with this company. Please note they are related to many other dating sites and I imagine they all work the same way. Be careful with these companies!
You need to contact your credit card company and report the card as lost or stolen, this what my credit card company told me to do after I explained to them the issues and paid until 8/1/18.
When canceling your membership with Match.com/OurTime you must close out that credit card as suggested by mine, report it as lost or stolen so they can't charge your account.
professional swindler
I signed up for the 6-months guarantee package on Match in Oct 2017. I stopped accessing Match sometime in Feb 2018, removed my profile photo and also replaced my profile write-up with "Hi, I am quitting online dating for now but will let my 6 month subscription run it's course. Good luck on your search! :)"
About 10 days before my subscription expired, I went into Match to cancel my subscription. I followed the cancellation instructions on match.com to a tee .
On Apr 20, 2018, I received an email from Paypal that $175.92 was paid to Match for a 1 year subscription.
I wrote to both Match and Paypal. Paypal said that they cannot cancel the transaction. Match responded and agreed to a one-time courtesy refund but will still have to charge me $35.99 for a one month subscription after which they will terminate my subscription.
So it could be one of 2 things:
1. They have a technical glitch and are not admitting to it.
2. They are a professional swindler. After analysing the situation based on the facts below, I have determined that they are intentionally deceptive.
Firstly, I signed up for the 6 months guarantee package in October, 2017. This means that if I do not meet anyone in 6 months, Match will renew my subscription for another 6 months at no cost. So even if they have a technical glitch and did not receive my cancellation, why am I billed when I am entitled for a free 6 months subscription?
Secondly, my initial package was for 6 months and they auto renewed it for a year?
Yes, I should be happy as I got most of my money back and $35.99 can be easily written off.
But it is not about the amount, it is a matter of principle. This is not right!
How do we start a Class Action lawsuit against Match for fraud?
disgusting business tactic practice
I have used the company with moderate success before but they hype up the success rate and at $30 a month it is way too much money for little to no results so I cancled. A few nights ago I get a notification from them showing me the ideal match for me. I'm talking about looks, personality things in commom etc. As with most profiles in the bottom left corner of the pic it will tell you if the member is online or when the last time they logged in was so this one said "ONLINE NOW" "and if ypu would like to speak to her right now using our new instant conversation service (basically a call made within the app) subsribe now and pay for this special service" so I do since Im thinking finally someone I could have a shot with. Magically after I enter my payment info it now says the user "has been online within 5 days" so I was lied to and lured in to get my money. I still sent the person a message thinking maybe it was a glitch and even mentioned how it said she was "online now". I tried messaging a bunch of other peoples with no replies.
I jusr got off the phone with customer service and was told I would not get a refund because of their policy and the rep even ADMITTED he never heard of such a glitch (who knows if that is to be believed) anyways I demand a refund saying that I am exempt since I was basically roped in and lied too to get my money. After going back and forth with this guy I finally ask for a supervisor and get told "no, he will just tell you the same thing I told you". I dont care! If a customer asks for a supervisor you give them a supervisor and dont speak for them! So after demanding contact info of his superiors he hangs up on me! This is low and I was hijacked for over $100 for a dirty tactic.
customer service/ charge
My account was charged today 4/13/18. I meant to cancel the account prior to this date however forgot. I called to cancel and request a refund as it was just charged today. I was told I could not have a refund even though the charge was today. I requested to speak with management and was told I could not be transferred and if I continued to request the call would be terminated. At this point I am so frustrated and think I was not treated fairly with my complaint. I even said even if o can't get a refund I want to talk to management and make a complaint. I am so unhappy with the service that I will not itemize this site again and I would advise my friends the same. I would also like to note that the same thing happened with eharmony and they made a full refund as well as listened to my concerns.
will not refund my money
It seems that my request has fallen on deaf ears. So I ask you (match.com) for a refund on my membership. I have 5 and a half months left on my subscription. I have e - mailed you twice for you web site to no avail. If you do not answer me in this e mail I will file a compliant.
Sincerely
William Pochik
This is the letter I have sent to match.com and it keeps coming back failed delivery. I also sent e-mails from the help bitton from there web site, asking for a refund. They are a very deceitful company. and are ripping me off.
dating site
I tried to sign in to my account and was told that Match Blocked me from signing in to my account. I do not know why and have no idea if I am sending this request where I was told to find out from Match how to get into my account. I spent a lot of time getting as far as I did and was going to pay for the site since I had my profile and etc. almost complete and ready to start corresponding. This is my first time getting on a dating site, my grown children encouraged me, and then Match blocked my account. I am new to the area and just got myself ready to get out and about. All the time I put into the site is now wasted time. I don't know if I can go through all that again. I just want to know why this happened and my time spent is that in vain or does my account show back up like it was. I appreciate any help you can assist me with this problem. Thank you in advance for your help in this matter. Sincerely, Diane Johnson [protected]@icloud.com
Each time I try to sign in to Match. Com it tells me that my account has been blocked by Match.com. I don't know why and I don't understand. Can you help me get back into my acct and why I was blocked by company? My email is: dianejohnson62@icloud.com
dating service
I got a message my account was blocked and that an email was sent. No email. The message on the screen told me to contact here. I complained on day 1 as their security and programming was sub standard. As a former organized crime Agent and having. Degree as a Computer Scientist i feel highly confident in my assessment. I want a refund if they cancel my account thhey have un t il Friday to correct this issue or I will take it up with the FTC, FCC and The congressional committee currently investigating Facebook and Google. As a publicly traded company after the holiday I will pull there SEC filings and contact every member of their Board and Executives.
another match.com scam
Be aware of Match.com, s latest scam. You sign up for free, yeah and if you have not paid after a while, they start making you offers to get full use of the site. Offering £4.99 a month for a subscription...read the small print below ! It then says after that month you will be charged £39.99 a month until you cancel your subscription...so in actual fact the first payment taken for a month will be £44.98 as they always bill you straight away for the next month. This is one hell of a scam and the prices Match are charging now are just a total rip off. You used to be able to get a months subscription for £9.99...not anymore. The prices they are now charging for full membership is £39.99 and for that money you could sign up to four other sites for that much...and to be honest its the same few people online all the time, and nobody talks to you, and its a waste of a hell of a lot of money for you to just sit there while nobody contacts you. If you want my advice, do not use this site, its become far too expensive and i honestly dont know why the women are using it or how they afford it...near £500 a year to be on a site where no one ever talks, well hell thats just plain stupid !
match.com
On 1st of March, I deleted my Match.com account and cancelled auto renewal. On the 18th March, I received an email from Apple ID stating that 39.99 had been charged to my credit card on the 18th of March. This should not have occured. I no longer hava an account with Match and do not wish to avail of its services in the future.
I would like a full refund of my monies as soon as possible.

match.com
This site is a total scam. Stay away, dont waste your money. You will not meet anyone there. There are no relationships that started off of it! No matter what you list as a preference in your mate, you will be spammed with all kind of emails and most of the people are fake and most likely criminals trying to scam you and get personal info or maybe even use "love" to get money and access to your love and bank account. Probably some prisoner writing a sad and beautiful story making you think OMG, I finally found the one.
I think this site should be shut down for a false advertisement and predatory practices. Once you discover what an awful site this is and most profiles are fake and criminals, you cant get out of it, your payment will not be refunded and hope they won't auto bill you.
It is predatory in its nature, I wish the word would spread around because this is just wrong that they even exist.
credit card charge
This company will take money that you don't authorize.
I signed up for a 6 month membership today at $9.99 per month. They charged me a lump sum $13.99 per month! They refused to refund the difference stating that they have a no refund policy.
What?! Are you kidding? You have a no refund policy for funds that you never received authorization to take in the first place?
refund on membership bellalouise 53 year old from kiama australia
I contacted match.com last week regards to a membership. When I attempted to pay for a 3 month membership I kept getting a message advising my payment had been declined. After several attempts of payment I've somehow selected a 12 month membership by mistake. I only wanted three month membership which was $107 and not $160. You state that you have a seven day cooling off period well I have put this complaint in for the second time and I expect a full refund I do not like your website it's full of creeps and there's no one in my area.
If you do not refund my money I will be making a complaint to the Australian consumer affairs and also the American as consumer affairs and I will be making sure I give your company I give a bad review on every site I find.
membership scam
I signed up for match.com on February 19, 2018 for a year
membership in hopes of meeting someone. I sent some
friendly emails to a few users and on February 23, 2018, I
received a notice saying that someone had reported I had
sent a harassing email. I asked them to please investigate my
emails because I definitely did not send any inappropriate
messages. They said they cannot give any further
information on this issue due to privacy. I further reiterated I
am not looking for anyone's private information. I am asking
only for them to investigate my sent messages because there
were no inappropriate messages. After no help by email I
called customer service on february 28, 2018 and asked
them to please find out what was going on. They said your
account is still active and they will escalate it to the
corporate office as they can't see what I did wrong either.
The next day my account was terminated and they refuse to
issue me a refund. I paid for a one year membership and it
lasted less than 10 days and they wouldn't even verify if I
did anything wrong and terminated me for merely asking for
them to look into the matter.
customer service and system
In early December I thought I deleted my account... haven't signed in or looked at it much for months prior, wasn't satisfied with the quality of potential matches prior to that, and found Bumble has higher quality dating potential in this area. On February 19th I saw a charge for Match of $179.00 and called to find out why. Spoke to two different men (hung up on the first one) who refused to forward me to a supervisor or someone in the US. The only refund offered was $118... and they made it sound as though I should be satisfied with this since I "didn't have a confirmation #" for my cancellation. They were rude beyond words... and for Match to charge me for a Month of nonusage is a bit of a scam. I warn anyone who is not tech saavy to avoid Match!
an unauthorized charge to my credit card on 2/19/2018
A charge of $123.06 was charged to mydiscover credit card on 2/19/2018, I made or authorized any charges on the date stated above, I logged into my computer at 6am 2/19/2018 and mad no such charge, now how can a charge be made when one just turned on his or hers computer, I dispute this charge of $123.06 and demand a refund or delet this authorized charge.. this dispute has been reported... james mcninch
no charge of 123.06 was ever made by me on 2/19/2018, this is a bogus fraudulent charg by match, com
I had gone into my account and saw a charge posted to my account for match.com which concerned me since I had not signed up with match.com... i called my bank and was transferred to the fraud dept. who will be following thru on their end in the meantime I contacted match.com myself and the young man i spoke with said he would reimburse me one month. Regrettably in calling my bank i had learned that match.com had been withdrawing money from my account since April and stupid me for not noticing but having this brought to my attention I surely would respectfully ask for help in getting my money back. I'm totally unsure how this has happened but know that I didn't give my account information for a membership and am very upset by this. I hope someone with concern for getting this matter addressed can help me. Please. I know people lie all the time but I have no reason to lie... and my money means a lot to me as it does for everyone. Yes, i now know to go and check my account carefully going forward but that doesn't dismiss that the withdrawals were not with my consent on any level. Respectfully begging for help, Judy (Judith) Graham
match.com is a scam
I signed up for match.com. I paid them a subscription fee. A few days later my account was hacked. I reported it to them and a few days later they terminated my account. They claim their terms of use does not require them to justify their actions and they refuse to refund me my subscription.
If you are thinking of giving match.com your money, don't! All match.com wants is your money. Once they get it, the only thing they will do for you is terminate your account. Don't waste your money on this dishonest site!
mismanaged match.com is operating a bait & switch scam
I am a Software Architect and CTO so I know how to opt out of background check data broker companies who sell your personal data to thousands. So, match.com welcomes my money initially then, before I can actually use it, they block my account. So they have no problem making me prepay for a year but they refuse to let me use the service and refuse to tell me why I was blocked and refuse let me speak to anyone in management. This happens every time I open an account. I have a provable income of well over $350, 000 a year, have a graduate degree from an Ivy League University, attractive, physically fit, kind-hearted, easy going woman, but do not like to go to bars and the men who ask me out at sports are often up to 20 years younger so I thought I would try online dating but match.com has been shockingly rude to me. I assume it is because I never use credit (paid cash for my houses and vehicles) and "opt out" of background checks "data broker" companies to protect my personal data and myself and my children from scammers and predators. I am shocked that match.com refuses to every email or call me back and just routes my calls to the Philippines and Costa Rica. whenever I request that someone from a US-based corporate office returns my calls and email messages, they say corporate says "permanently block her" but the customer service representatives say that I should create a new account with a fake email to trick corporate and security. This is a shockingly unprofessional and ineffective way to run a company and IT security.
