: March 24 - "Somethings not working" Date
: March 24 -to- April 4 - "Ice building up in back of freezer, too cold. Refrigerator side cool, not cold. Need to adjust Refrigerator and freezer sides."
--[ CALLING MAYTAG ]--
Day 1 : April 5 (Tuesday) - No change from ice build-up and "not cold" Refrigerator. I called Maytag. Maytag makes service call appointment for Friday, April 15th (TEN DAYS LATER).
Day 2 : April 6 (Wednesday) - Called Maytag, ask for other Service repair shop options. There was 1. Called them, got appointment four days sooner. Monday, April 11th.
Day 7 : April 11 (Monday) - Service guy comes out, determines several defective parts are required (Circuit control board and fan).
--[ MAYTAG PARTS ORDERED ]--
Day 13(1) : April 13 (Wednesday) - Service guy calls Maytag, orders parts.
-- -- Unknown to me at the time, THIS BEGINS Maytag's "21 Days" -or- "21 Business days" -or- approximately "1-Month", to find the parts needed to fix the Refrigerator. NOT FIX. Just find the parts to fix. This is indicated in the Parenthesis number (1)
Day 14-42(21) : Made numerous calls to Maytag over the course of the next 4-weeks (-or- 21 business days) for updates. Always the Same: "We can't do anything the 21 day have expired".
--[ NEW TWO WEEK WAITING PERIOD ]--
Day 43(22) : Friday May 13 - Spoke with "next level up" and told that my Case will be moved into an "Escalated" state for the next 10(TEN) BUSINESS DAYS, or, TWO CALENDAR WEEKS. BUT... "This will be for a higher level people(Better?, Smarter?) to search for parts needed to fix my UNDER 2-Month old Refrigerator.
Day 47-56(New-Day 3 of 10) : Tuesday, May 17-26, I wait.
Then what? Wait even more time for another, new Refrigerator to be delivered.
Notes:
-- Customer service people were always nice, courteous, patient. Same for the "level 2" folks. However, due to Maytag's policy, their hands "were tied".
-- I was sent a small check for the "inconvenience". This was used to purchase a small Refrigerator for necessary items at home. We are blessed to have use of a Refrigerator at our local church.
-- Both Local Lowes and Menards stores have Hundreds of these in their warehouses ready to be shipped and installed. Yes, I called and verified in mid-April.
Desired outcome: How to make it right in my view:Option 1: Issue refund of Refrigerator, Leave broken fridge and I'll pay out of pocket to fix.Option 2: Deliver new, identical Refrigerator, Leave broken fridge and I'll pay out of pocket to fix as backup.
To the Complaints Board staff:
I don't appreciate my comments getting removed. I thought this was a "Complaints Board" (as the Website name suggests). Maybe it was because I (sparingly) used some capital letters in some of my words in order to emphasize a point?
For instance:
Mr. Helpful's was responding to comments I had made. Here are my responses to my *deleted* comments:
You: "I hate assuming Menards' reply."
--> Me: Then don't, I didn't.
You: "They might actually be under contract with the manufacturer"
--> Me: No secret, they are. But when a $1300 refrigerator doesn't work after 35-40 days? 5 days outside the "store warranty" period... C'mon... really?
You: "but making assumptions get nowhere."
--> Me: There were no baseless assumptions, only factual assumptions. There is a difference.
You: I'm sure by now, the parts are on their way.
--> Me: Sounds to me that your assuming they were on the way?
--> --> Because they were not.
Can the person that deleted my comments please point out why they were deleted?
--> Do they think that people cannot see/read irrational posts? Are we smart enough to post issues, yet to dumb to discern objectively?
Why will this one get deleted?
Maybe this website (URL) should be "moderatedcomplaintsboard.com"
UPDATE:
It's been approx 1-year since my refrigerator got repaired. I can Say that, after being fixed, no problems.
This refrigerator has been working with no issues.
--> Sidenote: The $150 -used- HOTPOINT refrigerator I purchased as a temp... its still working too ;-)
-Jim
I am going through the same BS
I'm sorry you have to deal with the same situation. Since being fixed, it has been working properly. Did yours get fixed any faster than expected?
I purchased a Maytag Refrigerator in September 2021. Bad choice! The crisper does not work at all. Lettuce limp in 12 hours. Anything placed on the shelves that are to the back of the shelf, freeze! Sour cream,Lettuce salad, delived eggs, protein drinks. Temp has been adjusted to no avail. Also the freezer door bounces open frequently when you close Refrigerator door. Very poorly designed & manufacturered. Don't
You all test your product at all. The factory, the engineer that designed the refrigerator need a refresher course in how to produce a product consumers can be proud of. I can not recommend a Maytag refrigerator to anyone.
At the time due to COVID-19 it was the only Refrigerator in stock. Now I know why! No one wanted their miserable refrigerator.
