The manger/ our waiter charged a 18% gratity to our table. Being a server myself I understand the need of adding a gratuity to a large party. Usually when you feel you are deserving of a great tip and there are atleast 6 to 8 adults. Our party consisted of 5 adults and 2 children. One of which was an infant and the other a ten yr old. I have no problem paying a gratuity when it is well deserved. Our waiter ran by the table a couple of times and then gave us a check with his tip already on it. I was shocked. I asked if that was there policy and he sais yes we do that to all tables of 6 or more. I will not be going back to dine at mellow mushroom.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
We don't pay gratuities added to our bill when it's not our choice. A tip or gratuity is for good service. When they earn it, they get it. Restaurants don't have the right (far as I'm concerned) to charge you for gratituities.
But...18% is not a great tip. Minimum tip (standard) is 20% here. We give more when the service was great.
Rude servers with attitude, disrespectful, and arguing with each other, complaining about customers in the other room, slow on filling drinks and don't check in on customers, very disrespectful and rude.
I was sitting at the bar and the bartender all of the sudden started yelling at a server. She called her the b word and when the server walked she said she was going to slap the s out of her! Very disappointed in her behavior! It was on September 28. The bartender name is Regina.
Please get rid of the paper straws. They just dissolve in my drink and taste horrible in my mouth. Please get rid of ten I beg you.
