After buying a system on ebay, which they stated was the complete system I found out that I had to buy a dump load and then after installing it a couple days(2) later when we had no wind I noticed that 5 of the 9 blades(Gen 4) had broken tips. I contacted the company right away and then didnt want to replace them unless I paid to have the blades shipped back to them. I offered to take pictures so I didnt have to spend more money on this system then I had alread. I was told from Mike Jones that I got what I paid for. I informed him that it was not my fault that it didnt bring what they normally get for it on their website. I asked him if they send out second rated stuff that sells on ebay because they know it wont bring what they would have gotten if purchased on their website but he refused to answer that question. After filing a buyer protection case with ebay they decided to stand behind the seller because the item was installed, but I explained how else is a buyer to know if a item works or not until installed. They also had no answer and still stood behind the seller. I would stay away from this company unless you are willing to take your chances with a company that talks the talk and tells you everything you want to hear until something goes wrong and then they treat you like dirt.

Allow me to add my name to a very very long list of those who were ripped off by Missouri Wind & Solar. I also have turned Jeff into the attorney general and BBB. Here is my story in a nut shell.
I spent $1700 on 2 wind turbines...they caused $4000 in damage to my communications equipment. Neither turbine produced anywhere near the 800watts they claimed and I have the charts to prove it. The first Turbine literately self destructed (I got Pics), we found parts over 300 feet from the tower it was on. The second Turbines charge controller stuck in the load dump mode almost causing catastrophic system failure. We removed all the MW&S JUNK from our system!
As per MW&S web site, I called to get an RMA. The site says that an RMA is required for returns, if you don't have an RMA and you return the product anyways, you will be charged storage fees. I was refused an RMA...What kind of customer service is that? Instead of backing he product, Jeff (CEO MW&S) put the blame back on me for his Product going bad (I have emails to prove it).
I have measured the turbine blades for consistent density, weight and balance. It appears that MW&S does not bother to balance its Turbine blades. When I talked to Jeff about this fact he insisted that my 30+ years in mechanical design was wrong and that his equipment could not be flawed. Really Jeff, are you that arrogant?
DO YOUR HOMEWORK and investigate before you buy. There are some really awesome units out there but I found that none of them were from MW&S. For my business, I finally settled on a VAWT that produces 3-4 times its rating.

Tinmax,
You have too much bad to say about this company. If you have so much experience in mechanical design why don't you design your own system.Remember what goes round comes round.

After installation of our solar system and charge controller as per manufacturing instructions it was determined on June 30 by Missouri Wind and Solar that the controller was not functioning. They asked for a picture to be emailed to verify that it was installed correctly, which we provided. They requested that they controller be sent back at our expense and a replacement would be sent out. They said they would have to charge for the new controller, but as soon as they recieve the faulty one, they would credit us. After they had received the controller, they determined it was shipped out without being calibrated. In the meantime we saw that they had not credited our credit card yet. We asked them about this and told them we needed to be credited back since the uncalibrated controller was sent back to them and received by them. They informed us that they would not give us our money back even though they admited that it was their fault that it was sent out uncalibrated. In fact they said they would calibrate the controller for a $35 fee even though it should have been done by them in the first place! Then they said we could have the part back if we paid for the fee and shipping, but we would not be getting our money refunded for the second controller they sent out. So we paid for two controllers including shipping to and from Missouri Wind and Solar when we only needed one. We are out $157 for the controller as well as $60 total for the shipping. I would never recommend Missouri Wind and Solar to any of our friends or family. They are terrible to do business with. Alot of people are already asking us about our solar system and looking at it and we are telling them do NOT do business with this company!

In short, they provide no warrenty on their products. Be prepared to pay for shipping to and from and a bench fee for returned defective products. They have no problem using your credit card improperly. Save yourself a headache, spend a little more money and buy from a reputable company that stands behind their products.

Missouri Wind And Solar is an internet business who sells wind and solar parts and dreams to people all over the US. Before you do any business with this guy Jeff Harmon or any of his many alias companies. Like his Chinese importer business he runs - SkyMAX Wind. Or his other fake alias companies he uses to try and distance himself from his reputation.

Take some time to find out who you are dealing with and what his long history online is. Do your own research.

Start with the Missouri BBB and all the unresolved customer complaints. Only in Missouri could you get an A minus for taking thousands and have a record like that. So, dig in the site to the actual complaints not the bogus grade you can pay to improve. Pay special attention to the ones documented there where they detail he harassed and abused customers who had any complaint.

From Many Different BBB Redcords:

(1) I would contacted someone with knowledge in this field rather than missouri wind and solar It has become apparent that I should of checked with BBB complaints before making contact with them.

(2) We have tried to call, but are always told they will have the tech call back.

(3) I was then told that I may purchase an upgrade, and was even chastised for mentioning reporting them to the BBB!

(4) Now, for the last 4 weeks, they won't return phone calls or emails. Plus they have accused me of harassing them!

(5) buys cheap chinese made pmas off ebay and says they are American made. Further he does false advertisement and says they put out 1600 watts.

(6) The packaging was so poor and damage so bad one unit has not been assembled to this day. MWS never returned calls or emails refused refunds would not issue warranties on any electrical or mechanical parts. I have filed a complaint with the F.T.C

(7) Company failed to resolve the complaint issues through BBB voluntary and self-regulatory process.

Follow the trail along to the Missouri Attorney Generals Office, ask them to see the many complaints about Missouri Wind and Solar there. Oh, I almost forgot you may want to check for multiple complaints to the FTC Federal Trade Commission too. Local District Attorneys Office too, and even some states like New Jersey where he had harassment and stalking type charges and a warrant for threatening a customer of his over the phone during the holidays.

Do your homework before you do business with this guy and if you buy something be sure to never complain and just be happy. Because if you dare to not be happy with your purchase he will probably harass you and probably threaten and abuse you in emails, phone calls and hateful internet posts like he does to so many others. Of course that's because it will be all your fault if the stuff doesn't work, and poor old Jeff is such a victim of all these bad customers who are out to get him.

Look it all up. This completes one former customers review of Missouri Wind and Solar. Hope this helps you.

We had similar issues. The owner is a certifiable mental case and brags on how he attacks people. He made a video on you tube claiming to be satan and has a professional troll from Australia named Alan who goes by twistiesandbeer who stalks his former customers and threatens to releaase their credit card and personal information if they complain. He lives in a state that will not charge him with fraud or police him and he even brags on that on his facebook. The whole operation is a scam factory of garbage thats imported but he lies and claims its all 100% made in the usa. BE CAREFULL with this nut.

Missouri wind and solar sells over rated crap and makes up for it by bashing the competition as if it make their junk any better. They also employ this guy Alan Anderson in Australia to manipulate the internet in their favor. The freedom last about a year and its done for since it rusts together and can't be rebuilt. Very disappointed.

Missouri wind and solar total junk, SCAM SCAM SCAM

A year later the PMG on the turbine turned into a ball of rust and it stalled. Now a family of Crows made a nest on the top of the pole and they like the Missouri wind and solar wind turbine generator just find. My advice to you people is that the next time you want to make a nice bird hutch in your backyard just put an old milk crate on the top of a pole. The crows will make better use of it then this piece of crap Missouri wind and solar wind turbine. I have a HI_IQ Apollo turbine now and it works great.

I bought the same turbine they claim producing 1.7KW Unfortunately this garbage couldn't handle a 24 volts battery bank that is 700 AMP Hours. 50 feet high raised baby turbine spins like crazy when disconnected from the battery bank and generate 70 volts, once connected to the battery bank the speed goes down by 80+% generating 11 volts. I asked the eBay seller to help or take your junk back, he refused both while it's still under the 30 days money back guarantee, I received my refund on Tuesday and the junk went to recycle truck on Thursday. Do you want to help the world while saving on electric bill? invest on solar.

i have mws brand turbines and i can assure you the pma build quality is substandard, yes they work yes they make power but if you can clearly see the rotating internals in a pma moving left and right and not maintain perfect symetry whilst rotating like proffesional turbines you know you have purchased a poor quality product.
heres hoping they will lift their game

i own mws brand turbines
my grievance is with the skewed stator core permanent magnet alternator build quality, you can clearly see the rotating internals move left and right when spinning and not running straight and true, the swaying magnets rotors on the worst of my mws pmas run so close to the stator that the air gap is only 10 thousands of an inch, imagine what will happen when a bearing begins to wear out, yet the other magnets have "atleast" 4 times that clearance on on the same magnet rotor. i may just do a comprehensive video in our workshop and put it on YOUTUBE proving my point as at the time i was basically called a liar, yet i will NOT do it in hate and spite it will be just showing exactly what i have mentioned and in a fair and unbiased manner.
this is not an isolated incident, i wish it was, i have seen more units exactly the same when visiting a man trying to sell these units in port kennedy western australia and hes still trying to sell them now, luckily some are better than others yet they are still no where near running true and straight, NO Proper Quality Control
heres hoping this build quality issue will be rectified for future customers, i have to fix mine to prevent catastophic failure when the shaft bearings begin to wear in the future, "(seriously annoying)" for me it was an absolute waste of over $500 for each pma.
if you have already bought them, visualy check them first to see what yours is like, you may be lucky?, you can rotate them by hand which is slightly harder to notice the fluctuation or use a hand drill and a short peice of allen key shaft which will show it up instantly, just tape over the the electrical outlet wires on the pma so you dont get a nasty AC zap..
