These guys are the worst!
These guys are the worst! They messed up our AC and sent out some guys who didn't know what they were doing. They blamed our system for the problem, even though it's only 8.5 years old (our house is the same age). Now they're saying they need some part from a "distributor" and they've been looking since 9am! It's 4pm now and they're leaving at 5. It's so hot upstairs, like 90 degrees, and downstairs is 85! I get that there's a pandemic going on, but what happened to good customer service? These guys don't even deserve half a star, but I have to give them something.

Don't listen to all them haters talkin' smack 'bout Myers Comfort Specialists. Them folks don't know nothin' 'bout home warranties. American Home Shield sent Myers to check out my AC and heating units, and they said I needed new ones. AHS paid for some of it, and Myers hooked me up with a finance company for the rest. Them boys came back two days later with three dudes who were on time and acted like pros. They got them new units in and the old one out in just 6-7 hours. My big ol' house was cool as a cucumber. Myers is the real deal, y'all.

They came and looked at our AC and said the compressor was broken. They ordered the part and came back to put it in, but then said the wires were wrong and that was the problem. We've had the AC for 10 months and never had any issues, so it doesn't make sense that the wires were wrong. They didn't replace the compressor and we were without AC again soon after. Now we have to call American Home Shield again for them to come back out and look at it, but they'll probably say it's something else. I've had two other companies look at it and they both said it was the compressor, but we had to go with Myers because of American Home Shield. It's been a month of dealing with this company.

They suck! They was supposed to fix my shower heads but they didn't do it right. The guy came and said I needed new shower heads and they had to ask AHS for permission. But then they never did it and sent the same guy back. He didn't know what was going on. Then they called me and said I had to pay for the shower heads because they were fine. So which time was the guy lying? They're liars and they're trying to make me pay for something that AHS was supposed to cover. Don't use them!

Myers Comfort Specialists is a contractor for American Home Shield Home Insurance. They came to my crib to fix my AC/Heating unit. They said the unit is old and needs to be replaced because parts are no longer available. They then gave me a price to replace the unit without using my insurance. I said no because I pay for insurance to fix or replace my appliances. They came back and took photos and said we need an inspection of the venting system before they could do the work. The city said they don't do that and suggested gas fitters should inspect the system. The gas company sent men out to inspect and they said there's no problem. Then Myers changed their stance and now refused to do the work claiming it is unsafe for their techs. I think they wouldn't be compensated as much by American Home Shield as they would if I paid for it outright. They said it would be safe enough if I agreed to pay them approximately $***. I think American Home Shield should drop them as a contractor. And other consumers should be aware of their shoddy practices.

I called my warranty to fix the Evap Core leak and waited for more than 24 hours to hear back from them. I needed them to fix the A/C for my tenants, but they didn't call me back. When I called to get an update, the lady I spoke with kept cutting me off and was really rude. She even hung up without saying bye or anything. I'm about to spend almost $1K to fix the A/C, but they're so rude that I feel like I should get it for free.

The first dude they sent didn't even bother checkin' our AC, and the second one just slapped some duct tape on it and closed the ticket before even orderin' the part. I had to call 'em after two weeks just to find out they forgot to order the dang thing. And now, after another week, they finally came back only to tell me that the compressor outside blew up 'cause they took too long. Ain't heard nothin' from 'em since, and my insurance company still ain't got the part ordered. Myers, y'all need to get your act together.

Myers did work on my house 'cause of my warranty. A guy came and said our toilet had a crack inside and that's why water was coming out. But then his boss, Jackie, said we broke it by sticking a rod in it or letting it freeze. He said toilets can't break inside. So they wouldn't fix it 'cause of that. Myers called and said they could put in a new toilet for $450. I was so mad at them and don't want them back. I got another plumber and paid myself even though I had a warranty. I think he just wanted us to pay for the toilet. Please help.

Myers air people lied to AHS so I had to pay for duct work. They said it was installed wrong but it was just old and broke on August 12 and 8/25. Myers sent a guy to look at the leak from my duct work. They wrote a paper for me and AHS. Then they sent another guy to look at it too. This guy wrote a different paper saying the duct work was wrong when it was first installed a long time ago. He said it would cost $2000 to replace it and $1500 would be covered by home warranty. I called someone else and they said that was not true. The old unit just needed to be replaced. I paid $2760 for repairs because AHS said no because of the lie Myers told.

I gotta say, I'm pretty ticked off at American Home Shield and Myers Comfort Specialists. My folks' AC crapped out on a hot Saturday morning, and since they're covered by AHS, we called them up to send out a repair person. But get this - AHS wouldn't send anyone until Tuesday, because they didn't think it was an emergency and didn't wanna pay extra for a weekend visit. We told 'em that my parents are old and it's hotter than the devil's armpit in Alabama right now, but they didn't give a hoot.
So finally on Tuesday, the AC dude from Myers came out and said he'd let his company know what was up. But now it's Wednesday and AHS still hasn't gotten the info they need from Myers to move forward with the claim. We've called Myers a bunch of times and begged 'em to hurry up, but they don't seem to give a rat's behind and aren't doing anything to speed things up. We've even asked AHS for help, but they're not doing squat either.
Honestly, this whole situation is a load of bull. My parents are sweating their butts off and nobody seems to care. I wouldn't recommend either of these companies to my worst enemy.

They overcharge for Freon. They messed up my A/C. They charge $68/pound for Freon, which is too much. They do this because they work with a home warranty company. They messed up my A/C. They said it was just the evaporator coil that was leaking. They charged me $500 for Freon and 4 hours later, it froze even worse. None of the 3 techs that came out checked the outside unit. The last tech did and found it was leaking oil. We need a new unit! The customer service is terrible. The work is a joke. We've been without air for a week and our electric bill has doubled. If they had diagnosed it right the first time, everything would be done. They don't respond and don't tell the customer about issues. The reviews are bad but we have no choice because of the warranty company. This place should be closed. They do bad work and overcharge.

I had a guy from Myers Comfort Specialists come out on November 20. I paid $130. The tech came out and looked at my heater for 5 minutes and said it was the blower wheel that had come apart and he couldn't fix it until Monday. So he said we couldn't run it so we were without heat when it was 28 degrees. So Monday the company never called so I called and they said they were working on finding the part but wouldn't be able to come out Monday as stated on the Saturday work order. I never heard back then I called back in a few hours. They stated it would be $400 to repair. I called another company because I had to have heat after three days but the other company came and it was not the problem at all as the Myers tech said. They completed the repair. The lady at Myers I spoke with was rude also. I have emailed the company about the problem but they have not responded. I would like my money returned that I got on Sat, the $130. Also, I would like $300 for what the other company changed since Myers left me without heat for three days when I was below freezing temps.

Meyers guy came to our crib and found out our AC was busted. He said the evaporator coil was leaking. He gave us a yellow paper that said what needed to be done to fix it. Then Meyers said they wanted to get a handler that had coil, fan, float, pan, mastic, and plenum. They could have just got the coil, but they said it was cheaper to get all that other stuff too. Our warranty company said they wouldn't pay for the plenum, float, mastic, and pan. That meant we had to pay $1210 more to Meyers. If they just did what the guy said and replaced the coil, we wouldn't have to pay that extra money. Meyers won't change their story to the warranty company. When we talked to them about it, they hung up on us and said they wouldn't just do the coil. We need someone to help us out. Thanks.

So, I got a warranty with AHS and they sent Myers to check my AC. It froze up on July 4th and started blowing hot air. A tech came out and called me to let me know the coil was broken and there was a leak. He told me there was no reason to run the air because it had no refrigerant in it. When I got home that day, he had left the AC running and it was blowing hot air. A part was ordered and when the installer came, he checked the outside and the condenser was broken and there was a leak outside. It's been 2 weeks since I first reported the claim and they can't get to it until the 22nd of July. I had to board my 2 dogs and it was over $*** plus another $*** to rent a motel room. I'm out of money and out of patience. The heat makes me sick and my dogs can't take it either. If Myers wants to pay for my dogs being boarded until my air is repaired, they can and I will take them back to boarding them. They won't let me talk to a manager. I don't know what else to do. It is my understanding that some of the installers have Covid. After 2 weeks, I think I should be at the front of the line.

This company ain't professional at all. They came to my crib four times to fix a problem that should've been fixed the first time. They should've checked the Freon levels when the first tech came, but she didn't. If she did, I wouldn't have to keep calling them. It's been over a week and my A/C still ain't fixed. My crib got mold now cuz of the wait and we ain't had no A/C. I had to buy fans and a portable A/C for over 200 bucks just to keep cool. They were supposed to come at my scheduled time but they were hella late. The rep was supposed to call me but she didn't. When I called her at 2:23, she said I was next but it was after 4:00 when they finally came. I still ain't talked to a manager to fix this mess. They want me to pay $640 today on June 3, but this problem started on May 3.

I got American Home Shield for my house in Prattville. I called for service and they sent Myers Comfort Specialist out to service my call. Myers Comfort specialist have been called at least 4 times to service my plumbing (toilets) for leaks and after multiple attempts have not made a repair that lasts more than 1 year. I also had them service my ac unit. It was going to cost $1600 per their quote. I questioned a few items they quoted. They quoted installing a drain. The unit already had a drain installed. The guy that made the call said there was no drain. He lied, there is an existing drain. They quoted installing a float valve. The guy that made the call said there was no float valve. He lied. There is a float valve already. They quoted installing a new evaporator coil. The guy said it needed to be replaced. All it needed was to be cleaned. Blown out with an air nozzle. Because my unit is an older one it requires R22 refrigerant. They quoted 10 pounds of refrigerant for the system to recharge it at $100.00 a pound. Well, it was brought to my attention that there is now a substitute for R22 now that is far less and that was not offered. They wanted to charge me 1000.00 for the refrigerant. The total was going to be $1,600.00 for the service call after what American Home Shield was to pay. I called a local independent service company ***. It cost me 379.00 to get my ac operating like new. Myers Comfort specialist are a rip off. They take advantage of their customers and lie to them costing thousands of dollars more than necessary. Myers Comfort Specialist are thieves and will overcharge for the incompetent services they offer. Do NOT use Myers Comfort Specialist for any repairs at your home with out getting a second quote.
