double charged
I live in Canada and have noticed that I have been charged twice for Netflix every month since signing up (4 months). One as a Canadian account and the other under an American acccount. I live in Canada and have only used the Canadian Netflix website. I just spoke with Netflix Canada and was only offered to be reimbursed for 1 month's fee. The rep that was helping me did as much as he could. I asked to speak with his supervisor (Katrina) but was advised she was "busy". The supervisor took no responsibility for the situation. I was then given the Netflix US number to call and was advised they could help me. I spoke with a rep from Netflix US (Chris) and despite him confirming there was no usage on the American account he would only reverse 1 months fee. Despite the obvious error on Netflix's part I was advised that it was my responsibility to check my bill. WELL NETFLIX, YOU SHOULD CHECK YOUR ACCOUNTS FOR DOUBLE BILLING CLIENTS.
What terrible customer service. I have now cancelled my Netflix account and will never use their service again. I will be sure to share my terrible experience and ensure none of my friends or family use this company.

unauthorized recurring charge to my visa
You have automatically drafted my account without my knowledge. I did not ask to join your club or have I rented any movies. I would like all monies you took from my account returned back into my account and to be contacted. I need a telephone number to your customer service department so I can talk to so one now. This is against the Law

unauthorized billing
i want to cease having my checking account charged for netflix.com as i cancelled my account a while back and keep getting charged a monthly fee..i want any charges since cancelling returned to the card used..
very sincerely,
michael adams
A very valid request. Now, simply go to Netflix's website, select their customer service email, and actually send this there where something my actually get done about it.
charged 7.99 $ us without my consent
I was charged 7.99 $ from Netflix and I never asked or bought anything from them.
How they got my card number is fraudulous.

price increase
What did thes guys do over there get in bed with the oil companies? I have been a loyal netflix customer since the early days and over the years through word of mouth alone, have probably sent at least 50 customers their way. I have always gone by the philosophy "dance with the one that brought you" and will not be hijacked by their obscene price increase! There are at least (10) redbox locations within two miles of my house and i will begin using them starting september 1st.

difficult to contact customer service
Netflix recently raised their prices significantly. They have a phone number which you can never get through on..it is constantly busy and you are left on hold for up to an hour. They have no email address to contact them. No way to contact them through their website.
Any company which offers low prices and then suddenly significantly raises their prices, with no opportunity for customers to respond, is not operating in an ethical manner.

rejecting card
i recently decided to sign up for the 30 day trial of netflix. i am fine with the payments and have no problem putting in my card info before i get my 30 day trial. but the ###ing site wont take my card. i have a visa debit card. it is affilliated with a bank. it is not a prepaid card. i not only tried my own card but my mothers as well. the site gives us the message that there is a problem with the card. it seems my family is not good enough for netflix.. well ### u netflix

that happened to me with xbox. sometimes something gets messed up with the information the card has on file IE address, even something as simple as a different at one number on your zip code It may seem really stupid and lame but that might be it. because computers mess up all teh dang time.. Netflix is really awesome about fixing problems. so call them and go that route screw doing it online...
charges to my credit cards
I had a charge to my credit card with reference (purchase 90630621013016144262401 on 06/21 at nfi*www.netflix.com/cc netflix.com ca) I have never ordered any services or contacted this company or even opened their website. I am not sure how they got my card information.
To whom it may concern:
I would like to cancel the Netflex for our Son. We agreed to charge it to our Credit card, only if he pay us monthly. He has not chose to do that.
Please cancel ASAP.
Feel free to e-mail me on this matter.
Thanks
Would like to know how your company can bill a credit card without the owner of the card permission This is the second (2nd) month my card has been bill: call, they said I would receive an e-mail in 24 hour with cancellation number and other information still looking for e-mail. Beatrice Dantzler
I have tried to cancel this account for months but they keep billing me every month! Della Tessmer
I, Robert Carmody signed up for your service but it nevered worked from the start. I cancelled the same day. Netflix is charging my account 7.99 for nothing received. I wonder how many others are receiving the same kind of service.

worst experience ever
-My dear mother purchased a 3 month gift subscription
to Netflix for me, for my Birthday present..
-Netflix charged her credit card the full amount of $31.77
in advance but when we signed up they required that my husband and I start an account in our OWN name to access the subscription which included placing our own credit card number on file..
-We had used the subscription for one month ( one disk
at a time )..when I received a notice in my email that my credit card had failed to charge for my subscription for that month and the account was "on hold" as a result..
-We called Netflix and were told that each month the credit cardwe had on file would be "dinged" to ensure the credit card was still valid in case ( the example given was ) a dog ate a disk and they needed to charge us for it..
-I blew my top..they already HAD charged a valid account for three months in advance, I told them to go into their system and check "ignore".."bypass"..or whatever so that the attempted charge would be deactivated..
-I was told the account would be on hold until we could provide a valid card..I told him they had no right to attempt to charge our card after just one month use on a three month FREE GIFT subscription..
-I then told him it was the most worthless offer I had ever seen..
-They basically ripped my mother off and I told them to credit her account back immediately for the two months we would not be using..
NO ATTEMPT by the service rep to figure out a better arrangement..
-WORST EXPERIENCE EVER-
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Two things:
One, as a current Netflix customer I can understand their need to increase the fee to customers. Recently they signed an extensive agreement with a number of studios and distribution companies for access to stream new releases from those distributors. Currently I can get brand new releases through my OnDemand service provided by my cable company (Time Warner), but I have to pay from five to thirteen dollars for each one I select. These are available on the same day that the DVDs are released for retail sale so it saves me not only a trip to the video store but the higher cost of actually buying the disc (in case it turns out to suck and I wouldn't want to actually own a copy of it anyway.) This is what NetFlix is trying to compete against. And since those new releases would be folded into the low monthly cost of the full NetFlix streaming service, I personally think it's well worth it. After all, it won't do much good if they can't pay the royalty fees the distributors demand and either lose the access to them or price them so low they lose money and go out of business. I do think they could have explained this a lot better, though.
Two, several years ago I was with NetFlix when it first came out and after being in operation a while they were subject to a class action suit based on complaints that they promised new releases they never had enough copies of (false advertising). The settlement was everyone was to get a free month of service for each certain period of time they had been subscribers. When I was informed of this I had already dropped them, so I never got anything. I wonder if I should bring that up to them and threaten another suit for all the people who never got anything out of that first settlement. Hmmmm...
"NO ATTEMPT by the service rep to figure out a better arrangement.."
Here is how that would have worked. The service rep lets you use the service without a credit card. That rep's manager finds out, that rep gets fired, you still have the same issue with a different rep. Next time, be sure that you (and your mother) read the terms and conditions of programs like Netflix so you know what you are getting into.
Speaking as someone who is a current customer, thanks to someone giving me the same three month gift subscription, they literally do a pre-authorization for $1 on the credit card on the account during the three months that I was under the gift subscription. This pre-auth doesn't even appear on the statement. They need to safeguard themselves in case you don't return your movies.
To say this is the worst customer service is a completely insane statement as they did nothing wrong. You agreed to the fact that they would do this when you signed up. My guess is you did not read the terms and conditions of the membership, which is not Netflix's fault. If I randomly showed up at your door, and you don't know me, and I asked to borrow a DVD, I bet you would ask for some sort of deposit to make sure I bring the movie back. That is what Netflix is doing here. If I said no to giving a deposit, you then have every right to slam the door in my face, which is what Netflix did to you. I bet you also complain when you have put down a deposit on a hotel, airline ticket, rental car, or anything else.

each month i am charged $14.99 and always have second charge of 7.99. i use the service and am willing to pay the $7.99 for just streaming movies but Never ordered the service option that also includes the mail dvd. So, basically i am being charged twice for the service as well as the fee for mail dvds(which isnt part of the 7.99/mo plan. Is there a number to call?

My credit card have been charged 7.99 from Netflex. However I did not request any service, I have never visited their web site even.

jsanislo2sbcglobal.net myname is Jean Sanislo . I just received my bank statement for my Visa card. i see the two charges of$14.95
what i am charged for 2 dvd's. But this time there is also one for
16.23 a and the www. address to netflix. What is that amount for?
i have not ordered anything from netflix. can you please answer this before I send in payment. Thank you . Jean Sanislo.
They can't just charge you if you didn't set up an account or a trial account in which both cases you would have to provide a credit card including your security code on the back of the card.
If you did not do this and they do not have your information correct you should be able to dispute it with your credit card company.
If you forgot to cancel the trial and they started billing you then it is your fault.
Also if you do have a Netflix account you can log on and stop service. They will not bill you. You can even choose stop and start dates such as if you are going out of town for the summer or you don't need it for a few weeks.
I have had Netflix for a very long time and always recommend them to friends. This is the first story I have read that is negative.
billing options
Ive been a member of Netflix for about 5 years till now. I received an email notification telling me my automatic payment didnt go through and i need to update my payment option ( credit card).
I signed on to my account, entered my credit card information and submitted, came back declined. "reason" Netflix no longer accepts prepaid debit cards as payment. First, this is not a "debit card " rather, a credit card issued from my bank through Master Card.
I checked my credit card account to be sure i wasnt over my limit and i was well below it. Also, i do have a couple other cards issued through Visa, . Im not sure what constitutes a prepaid card vs debit. when i think of a prepaid card, i think of going to local Wal-Mart buying a gift card with a visa logo etc on it.
My Visa Debit card is issued through Social Security and the other card is a paypal master card i use for Ebay and it is directly linked to my checking account. Neither of these cards would work for the same reason, it states they are prepaid debit cards.
my second complaint is the fact that NO WHERE on Netflix's website to they have an email contact link to email there customer support or lodge a complaint. If they DO have one, its realy hidden well. I did call them after i couldnt find an email link and the rep was rather nice. but informed me he was sorry, but there is nothing he could do.
I informed him after 5 years, i wish to close my account. He didnt even try to save me as a costumer, just went ahead and closed my account.
This is what i hate about companies that start out small, they eventually get to a point where they are not hurting for money and want to put tougher rules in place, little do they know, it will harm them. Prior to me writing this i read other "news" website complaining about the same thing with netflix.
I realy enjoyed netflix..for the past year, the only thing i have been ordering is the tv series "star trek voyager" LOL ( im a trekee). I cannot find any other outlest that rent the episodes so im left in limbo now. No worries, Ill purchase the DVD's.
IM sure one day, when this becomes the demise of Netflix ( if it in fact does ), they will be emailing, calling, mailing x-members like myself appologizing for the errors of there ways and plead for us to come back..NOTTTTT.. I never EVER do. I let them know realy fast they had one chance to appease me as a customer, there loss!
I had a low balance in my account, the Netflix pymt was rejected by my bank, I tried to get on Netflix and saw a message there was a problem with my account. I saw my balance was low in my account so put in enough money to cover for three days until payday, figuring I would authorize the netflix payment once my payroll posted. the next day, I got an email saying all was well again. I checked my bank and the charge went through. If there had not been enough money, I would have been charged 36.00. I thought I would call Netflix and tell them the problems they could be making with customers. The rep immediately was defensive and said loudly "mamme, you signed the agreement". She was so rude I had no choice but to cancel my account, which I did. I will be checking to make sure they do not ever charge me again.. I see that is another problem. heck, I was calling them to let them know how to provide better service.
12-6-12 - "Houston we have a problem." Since September 2012 I have been getting this message. I've spoken - no lie - to 12 different front line customer service people AND THEIR MANAGERS.
"Contact your credit card company", they tell me. Its your card's fault. Turns out my credit card company's computer is down for maintenance at 3am - go figure. So is every other credit card system.
Netflix swears that their system will try 3 times to charge the card. But they cannot (WILL NOT) produce the logs showing the times the card was charged. They say the system doesn't keep track of the time.
HA! Tell that to the IRS when you try to tell them you have no audit trail.
Over and Over and Over Again, the same story. What's more, the front line as well as the managers kept talking over me when I'd try to ask for a solution. When asked what they do with others that have this same problem, they all categorically state - "You're the only one that has this problem".
So folks - they have "no plan". No alternate method for dealing with this. They put your card number in the queue with the rest and batch submit it.
THIS IS NOT A SOPHISTICATED COMPANY. This is company of parrot yokels that *cannot* think outside the box. Or won't.
Here's a partial list of front-line customer service people I've spoken to:
Ryon - New Orleans office
Aquia - Denver office - Manager Tommy
Sam - Dallas office - Manager Twana
Colton - Dallas office
All of these people simply state the obvious - "It's your problem, and there's nothing we can do about it." And they will ARGUE that point with you, saying the same thing over and over again.
In the not-so-distant future, this bright young man will drop Netflix and will in turn subscribe to Amazon.
Amazon at $79/yr. is only $6.58/mo. with more up-to-date, better quality movies for streaming, compared to $8.66 mo. for poor-quality movies nobody has heard of. Really, low-quality garbage.
AND - Amazon offers free two-day shipping, free Kindle books, on all their products to boot by subscribing to Amazon Prime.
It's time Netflix started paying attention to its base. Especially considering that BONE-HEAD move they made when they raised the price by 400% for their Streaming/DVD bundle, and lost over 800, 000 members. This is NOT a company that cares about its customers.
I'm pretty disgusted.
3d movies
Has anyone else noticed that every new movie that comes out is in 3D? This is absolutely ridiculous to me. Not only do you have to buy the glasses every time you see a new movie, which cost around $3 each, but you also don't have a choice to see the movie in 2D if you would prefer. If you're like me, 3D glasses give you a head ache and are also annoying to wear. I went and saw Tron not too long ago and right at the beginning of the movie it says that many scenes are not actually in 3D since the movie was not originally meant to be made in 3D but you should keep the glasses on anyway. Wow was that an understatement, I actually removed my glasses right after I read that and watched the entire movie without that glasses and could not understand why I was ripped off of the $3 I had just spent. Plus i have multiple pairs of the damn glasses and they will not let me bring them in. Nope. I have to pay the money every time i want to go see something. Since the movie itself cost about $10, the glasses are $3 and just for a large popcorn and drink it is $13. So every time i go i spend at least $26. It just doesn't seem worth it. So I am boycotting any theaters since I usually only have to wait about a month before it comes out on Netflix or in Red Box.

unwanted text messages, needs to stop
i want to ask one question this freemovietag website is a scam or not movie website
I am 23-year-old. No one loves me. Where is my Prince Charming?Where is my love?
I am sorry yayalola! That is awful. It really helps when you are on a tight budget, and like to see movies. I don't understand why your movie is so expensive. Most have a day where movies are cheaper like on Tuesdays... Somebody should open a discount movies in NY. I am assuming that the recession has hit NY too... I am not a fan of 3D either, it gives me a migraine! Good luck to you...
Where I live, you CANT bring your own glasses and it does not get cheaper after a few weeks. If the movie it's 3D it will be 3D in a few weeks. They force you to buy the glasses at the theater and after the movie is done, they "recommend" you to recycle which I do since I have nothing else to do with the glasses and I can't use them again at the same theater. I do feel it's totally a rip off. Most of the movies are 3D these days and the most of them are not even worth it to see in 3D. I totally agree it should be optional or at least the option to buy it one time and then bring them back every time you see a 3D movie.
This is for Slynn: you are so lucky, in NY there is no way you will see a movie for 2 or 3 bucks at all unless you are renting the movie and watch it at home. The cheapest is $7.5 for a matinée and some theaters is $9 the matinée.
They offer it in 2d im sure its probably just the first week a movie is released its in the 3d room then it moves out not really a worthy complaint you just have to wait a week to watch it in 2d
Most movies I have been to offer the movie in 3D or 2D. Find a cheap movies close to you. In CA you can view a movie a couple months older, much reasonable rate. Instead of paying ten bucks, you pay two or three! That way, popcorn, soda, 3D glasses, are under twenty dollars. I have kids, and it isn't worth going to the movies and paying fifty or more dollars! When I can see a movie, with the same experience much cheaper! It is crazy to pay for a regular rates. If there isn't a cheap one close to you, try seeing a during the day, when the rates are much cheaper... If I am going to pay ten bucks for a movie, than it had better be one that I really want to see... Many people have complaints about 3D, and getting headaches. I don't understand why your movie's don't offer it 2D, that is just stupid...

I am being billed for netflix, but cannot access my account to add movies.
This company has charged my credit card without authorization for three DVD's that I sent back on April. They never informed me about those charges ($60.00) and it was until I check my credit card statement that I found out about their fraudulent practice. I have sent them several emails to obtain an explanation on those charges and I haven't get any answer back.
I was just billed $7.99. Never signed up, never wanted it, never will want it. Give me back my money as it was from an emergency funds account only. How did you get it? STOP

wii selection pathetic
I have been a netflix subscriber for a number of years. I've always loved my netflix but lately that is changing. I've especially enjoyed the movies they have suggested since I end up seeing great movies I would have never run across. Their suggestions for me are usually pretty accurate and I enjoy seeing what they will suggest next.
In the past year I haven't watched many dvds but watched using streaming on my pc. Last fall I decided to move entirely to streaming on my pc even though the selection isn't great. I've found they mainly suggest older movies and newer movies must be searched for.
For Xmas we began using the wii to watch movies. I've missed watching movies on my larger tv since I had been watching on my pc. I am very irritated in the offerings of the wii. Many, many of the movies they suggest have been rated 1 or 2 stars. I don't even want to know about all the crappy movies they suggest - but they fill the screen with totally horrible suggestions plus there aren't many listed to begin with. To make watching bearable I have loaded up my que so I can select some movies quickly on the wii screen --- otherwise I have to go to my pc and use the suggestions screens there. Funny how using the pc they rarely suggestion something below 2 stars yet on the wii for some categories it was very common. So anyways I find a movie I want to watch using netflix on my pc & then on my wii I have to do a search to bring up the movie. How irritating!
The wii should have the same suggestions as the pc suggestions but they are vastly different.
hmmm strange we have streaming for up to 6 devices on one account, the only thing is it only works on one at a time, since it is only 8 a month i don't care if it is older stuff since i hardly watch movies anyways so almost everything is new to me
My complaint is that they say unlimited streaming but they limit us to have only 2 streaming devices this is very bad for netflix to do. Ok, the customer service rep said" that they change the streaming from 5 devices allowed on the user account to now a 2 devices" well that is not good because families use many devices in there household. I want netflix to offer muti-device streaming back.I want their movies titles greatly improved to more current titles for the new generation, come on it's 2012. WAKE UP NETFLIX you are on borrowed time!
Awful selection. I have searched for many, many titles -- from recent to decades old -- and they're grayed out/"not available." You can't even stream Star Wars episode IV, people. And Spike TV plays it all the damned time. What gives?
i have to agree with this person. I am only 22 years old and most of these movies came out before i was born. i want to watch movies that are more recent. Netflix on the wii sucks. Netflix needs to keep up with the generations and their movies. i pay to watch movies and i have to order it.
free trial is not free. charged 3 days after joining free trial
Had desire for the 7.99 month Netflix service, 1 month free, but charged 3 days after joining(paypal) unable to get refund, I promply canceled. There are no refunds, which I dont respect the business practice, 1-800 number given, but again no refund given. I will avoid netflix due furher concerns of deceptive business behavior. As I review the commments I would love see Netfix address this. The websites states if you see the charges listed you will not be charged, it is just recognition of a valid avenue of pay. This just isn't true, it was removed from my acct.
You don't get a free trial if you were given one before. That includes your free trial that you got during the beginning of time.
unauthorized transactions
We signed up with Netflix for a free 30 day trial. I wanted to watch the movie "Howard the duck" one day last week.
We filled out all their forms, and gave them all the info they wanted, and we joined.
Once we joined, I tried to bring up the movie to watch online, and it said that it was not available in that format, and I had to have it delivered. Since I really wanted to see it RIGHT AWAY, the account then became useless to me, and I canceled it within a few minutes of joining.
Then, I noticed that there was $8.78 taken out of our bank account. I am the disabled victim of an uninsured drunk driver, and we get by on social security benefits. We don't have money to just piss out for several days while some big corporation dicks around with it. I say that because they kept our money for 5 days.
Netflix claims to have "tested" our account. The first authorized transaction (had we kept our membership) was scheduled for Jan 9th.
I know all about testing an account in an online transaction. Paypal does it with change. They deduct 2 amounts that are both less than 20 cents, and put it right back as soon as you enter the amounts into your Paypal account. We have had other tests on our account that were also put right back.
Now, Netflix is not the only corp that does this for such a long time. We applied for a Clear wireless account once at a phone store, where we gave the store clerk our Visa check card. Our account had enough for the opening payment (which was, like, $44.00), and few dollars more. They apparently tried to take an added $20.00 along with the 44, and when they couldn't, they denied us an account. Afterward, they had that $20.00 on hold for several days.
So, knowing that these corporations can test your account with change, and can return it nearly immediately, there is no reason for them to do what they have done to us.
very limited options
I have had Netflix Canadian online service since it started a couple of months ago. Since that time, I have done many searches for movies I wanted to watch none of which are recent and none of which are obscure. Of the many searches I have tried, Netflix.ca has had none of the movies except one (Taxi Driver). If you are considering signing up for this service, the fee sounds very appealing but just be aware you are actually paying for Noflix.ca
Is Netflix.ca newer? Because the united states netflix has a very impressive and wide selection.
