Lack of customer service and scam type operation
Here are the facts as it transpired.
Overview: We got pushed and pressured to purchase products from this company which we did not know at the time their business "MO". As a consumer, and from what the "salesperson" had advised and their receipt indicated, we could get 100% money back gurantee no questions asked within 30-days. As you review the brief below, timelines and how and what happend, you can conculde their intent is to sandbag, delay and pressure a person to keep the prodcuts at all costs and never have any intentions to help or resolve the matter. We tried to resolve this many times but we could not get anyone at the management level to assist nor get a call back to help us before it was delivered in spite of many, many attempts by us to do so. Once we got the product, we refused it, it was unopened and returned to the shipper with plenty of the witness and photos to prove that. Once it was delivered to the shipper, they refused it. They told the shipper to send it back to their warehouse or whatever it is (shipper), and the only one communciation I had after many days with the so called in store level customer service, his advice to me was, to refuse the package and dispute it. I found that to be very strange and I wanted to do this properly but they are not responding to us and the shipping company which had documented everything as well. To this date, in spite of many attempts to reach them and get a so called person in charge to make this right, and assist us, we have not heard back at all. So we are out 4000 dollars in products we never used or openned nor we have the product at our possession and OROGOLD is playing games onthe return.
Time lines:
On July 26, 2018 while on vacation they playend their sales tactic game as we were walking by to come into their store, take a break and enjoy a free product and a special deal only for today and only for a few hours and while they offered us to sit down and eat a expensive choclate and sit down and get a "free" test ficial nonsense for my wife and some under eye profuct for reduced price and we purchase for $316.16 and wanted to walk out. When we had procedded to walk away, they proceeded to push a great device which now I know was the real deal they wanted to capture. They said, how about quick spa facial treatment with this product you can see the difference and it is unbelievablely reduced price and he will through in so many goodies. We said we have to go and they kept pushing and pushing and pushing. So my wife started the treatment as the other person was working on me with the special deal and how good this product is and only a few left at this price. I said let me think about it, I don't know if I can spend that kind of money. He kept saying, no worries, it has money back 30 day gaurantee and this and that and there is no way you can lose and so on and on. This device was the "infrared" treatment at the professional level and you can get at home for skin care. Today he said the price tag is so reduced and so many other free creams and lotions and etc I can include because we have a coupon to include right now but you need to get this now. I still was not comfortable but it was just my wife's Bday and I thought with the 30 day money back, what could be the issue. So we got pushed to purchase it.
A few days later on July 29t, 2018, around 12noon PST, and before they even shipped anything from their so called store in Hawaii I had contacted the sales Rep that helped us inquired about when the shipping will arrive and etc and recieved very vague response and no shipping info and said probably be shipped 5 to 7 business days and he said, to "promote him"! I felt uneasy and I took it upon my self to research this company and it was there when we found out what a scam and unethical business and all the multiple issues people had for years and trying to get refunds or the product was not even worth what it was and most certainly the device they sold us for over 3600 dollars alone was not really proven to do anything. I spoke with my wife, she saw the reports too and we had decided to cancel our order before it was shipped and get our money back.
So I had contacted again the salesperson on that day who supposedly wanted us to promot him and give us this great deal that will be shipped to us within 5 to 7 business days and etc, and I said, I really do not want the items, I cannot afford it and I really want to stop this process from shipping and get my money back. He said, he doesn't work at that store but call the "customer service" number on Monday which would be July 30th on the card I gave you (which is the store at Hawaii) and a customer service will help you with it.
I actually did not want to wait until that time, and I called the store in Hawaii and I told them who I was, in fact the other younger heavy acent lady who was double tagging us on this pressure sell, answered the phone. I said, I want my refund and I want the shipping to be stopped since it had not left Hawaii's warehouse and I want the manager call me back ASAP. She took all my info and said the manager is not here but will be in soon and will have him call you. I had waited and waited and no call back.
On Monday July 30th, I called in the morning and it sounded like the same lady answered and I again reminded her who I was and why I am calling and that noone called me and I need a manager or someone in charge to call me today. She said yes of course and took my number and info down again. I called later on again and someone else (a lady) answered the phone, she says, I see your notes but no manager yet. I said, I don't care, I need this resolved, I need someone in charge to call me and I do not want these products and want my refund. Again I was told someone will call me and apologized for them and said they will call soon.
On Aug 3rd 2018, I called at 9:51AM PDT to the salesperson who helped me again and no response was recieved. On Aug 3rd, I called the store again 2:11PM PDT and I said, it has been 2 days and noone had returned my call. I want my refund and I want it now. She asked for my receipts info, I said I give it to you guys many times, do you not see all my notes, this guy said it is my first day and I am new, can I have your info again. I said I need to talk to someone who is not new and better yet get me someone in charge, where is the manager, he said, he will be here in 4 hours, I gave him all the info, I told him what I wanted and he said no problem, they will call you.
Aug 4, 2018 at 9:04 PDT. I called again. Got another low level sales person, I said, where is the manager, this is going on near a week and I had left countless messages and he is not returning my phone call. I want the shipping to stop and I want my refund. She apologize for this delay and said I prmoise someone will call you. I said I am getting very upset and this is not right.
Aug 5, 2018 at 11:13 PDT. I called again, since as promised on AUG 4th, noone called and I told them this has to stop, I am calling their corporate office and reporting this as the worse customer service experience we ever had and that they are delibrately trying to avoid me and not calling me back. She said, no, the manager is coming in 1 hour and will call you and don't worry.
Aug 6, 2018 at 14:31 I called again to ask for anyone who can help and they said the managet will be here in 1 hour, we know you have been waiting for all this time and we are sorry and we will get him to call you to resolve this issue.
Aug 6, 2018 a bit later, we were out and the Fedex had left two boxes for us on the porch. I called them at 9:01PM PDT on that night, told them I am refusing these boxes and that I have been trying to reach anyone there and I am not accepting this shipping and will be sending it back. I still want someone to call to document all this and why is there anyone returning my call since end of July.
On Aug 6, 2018 on 9:16PM PDT, for the first time since end of July, a person called, with a heavy accent and hard to understand, and introduced himslef as "Antonio" and he is the in store customer service and wants to help me. So I told him exactly what I have been trying to do, and trying to reach their manager or even someone at his level and never got a call back until now. Of course he started to apologize and said he will help me to get the refund. I told him, I have refused the pacakge and it will be in Fedex and sent back. He proceeded to say, oh you should have refused it. I said how can I when I did not have any information which shipping you guys using, nor any tracking number been privided and for almost a week I was trying to stop this pacakge from even leaving let alone get a call back to get assistance. So I am refusing it and per Fedex, if no signature is required and the package is unoppend (which these are) and we were not home to receive it, we can return it as refused and I have left many messages that I want to refuse this package but you guys never called me back. So he proceeded to say, "ok, ok I will help you and I will talk to the manager and call you back tomorrow". I said you better because I heard this story for a week almost. He promised and we left at that. He said something about the shipping warehouse and the computer code not being able to but he will talk to the manager to fix it don't worry. I said I am not keeping this and I am refusing this package and I sending it back tomorrow. He said just wait till tomorrow and if refuse it and dispute with your CC company. I said why do I need to do that when this package is refused and it is coming back to you guys and I want my money back. Plus I have a receipt and witness that your salesperson said, 30 day money back gurantee. He said but it has left Hawaii, I said so? Then you should have returend my calls days ago. He said, "ya, sorry about it" I will call you tomorrow.
Aug 7, 2018 at 15:08. I waited and he did not call and I contacted him and said, his packages are sent, I got proof it is unopened and FedEx accepted the as refused and whatever happend to the manager. He called me back and said, I cannot get a hold of the manager and the computer code is not allow me and made up bunch of sad excuses. I said, well the packages are returning to the shipper address and I want my money. He said just dispute it. I said I prefer not but if that is what you are suggesting I guess we will .
Aug 8th 2018, I tried to reach Antonio one las time but he never responded.
I proceeded to dispute and document everything with my CC and I also provided them with the Fedex tracking and they are working on it. I also got a call from the local branch Fedex, who verified and saw the unoppend packages sealed and secured and she was following up with me and has opend a case. She also said she had tried to reach the shipper to inform them that the pakages are refused and are on the way back, it took her nearly two days and several run around to get someone. Finally she got a hold of a manager called "Ido" she informed him these packages are being shipped back and confrimed the address and he had responded to her "OK"! All this is documented by Fedex and their report by the way.
The shipment was sent and was delivered to their warehouse address and supposedly another manager at the facility told the driver that we cannot accept it and refused it. So now the fedex is trying to let them know that is not a normal policy and are having a hard time getting a person to cooperate with them. As far as I am told, I am no longer responsible for the package, it was my right to refuse and I did and the shippment was returned to the shipper in secure and unopened manner.
What did OROCAL do to assist or resolve this issue? Nothing. Only by some unknown person in the store level calling himself their customer service, said to refuse and dispute.
What do I expect? I want my full funds returned, I expect customer service in timely fashion, I expcted real assistance and I wanted a phone call from the so called manager many days prior the shipping. Is that too much to ask?
What I got instead: Much unneeded stress and wasting of my time following up for days, lipservice, getting no help or assistance no matter how hard I tired or getting someone to call me back with real intention to resolve this case in a timely and professional manner. I was hoping for a civil settling which would been return of the product in a perfect unopened boxes and they refund me my full money back. What I got was scam-like situation and whole buch of delays and sandbagging and nonsense.
What should be done to correct this type of cases: As you can read many on line issues and reports and comments from many consumers across this country who had samiliar dealings with this company and reported their cases to the BBB and some even to the consumer protection agencies, this company still operates in a awaful and unethical business manner. Something should be done to protect the consumer.
Update:
I had contacted their "corporate" customer care 877 line and emailed them too per their request nearly 14 days ago on this site in response to my complaint.
Keep in mind, even though I did contact that customer care 877 number before I even filled a complaint to handle this situation before and my phone log proves that too and I told them that and were told at that time to call the Honolulu office directly to resolve since they are "independent and owned privately" nonsense. Since the person who responded to my complaint on line here asked to call or email, I did both as a courtesy I did offer one last chance for them to make it right.
Just for you all who have dealt with this company and their MO or have filled a complaint and some even in process or in the middle of the law-suit, in order to get your refund, I am still getting no-where with them. More delays, nonsense suggestions that is false and lipservice.
I want you all to know, I did try to work with them since they came on line here and asked me. But nearly 14 days later, they are still "working on it" and I told them that I am giving them the benefit of doubt and hope they truly resolve this matter and make it right and refund me but as stated still giving me nonsense and I really do not think they will or have any attention to do that.
In fact this customer service person that I spoke with send me an attached word document copy of their (Orogold) list of "refund and or return" policies to review. Tried to tell me about having "buyer's remorse" which I told her no way that is not the case even before she send me the list via email, and was trying to put words in my mouth which I was not going to have that. I further explained to her that the fact later on she sent me that list of return and refund policies it is simply after the fact. Little too late, as this list SHOULD have been giving to us at the time and prior purchase and it was not and I have witness.
The sad part of this whole thing is, I even asked the shoddy, pushy scam salesperson about their refund policy twice and once again at signing when I read the only place that it refers " 30-day MBG" certain restictions". I asked what those are, and bascailly gave me BS about oh they apply to returning an "open" items other then allergy related issues. So basically not what I am doing! I asked twice what are your return policies are as I was being pushed to purchase $4K worth of device and he said, no worries you have 30 day money back guarantee, no issues.
So they lied, they omited the truth, they DID NOT given us anything to read at that time or after we purchased. So now, this lady that supposedly comes on line and acts like they want to really help me, not only buying time but keeps saying that I signed the receipt that the bottom say with restrictions. So I asked her, should it not these so called nonsense list been given to us or disclosed before buying? Should it not been told us the exact policies before we sign the receipt? Should it not been important when ASKED twice about full money back gurantee policy, the salesperson told us the truth and nothing but the facts or shown us this paperwork? So how is that our fault? This is what we are up against folks and seems like many of you have the same.
If they told us all that stuss, I would never purchase anything from them let alone $4K worth stuff. These facts was not disclosed, even when asked it was omitted and that is illegal and there are laws in this country. It is simply dishonest business conduct and unethical corporate operations. Their so called customer care at the corporate level who responded to my complaint here and you all seen it, they are not helping like they say and even they say they are "trying" and give them more time and 2 to 3 days and it is coming up near 14 days. They know better, they won't do a damn thing other than keep pressuring and not taking responsibilities for their so called privately owned companies.
I told them the other branches are considered Orogold. They work and operate your corporate brand. So does not matter who they are, if you are the corporate office, they are under your brand and rules. I will update more but right now, after all this time, we are not getting any where and like many of you, I guess we have to seek and involve legal and govermental agencies to keep this scam from spreading. They are out of control and the stories here on line about this company, I am surprised they still get away with this. We will not allow it, they need to learn this is AMERICA and there are rules and they will not scam innocent people and expect business as usual.
Like someone mentined, everyone needs to act and stand up for your rights as a consumer and do not be bullied from sales people of this company or the owners of the store if you can even get a hold of them or their corporate level. Enough is enough. By the way, their unoppend packages was refused by us and was sent back and they are playing games to get their packages and their warehouse manager supposedly refused it and now it is sent to the storage yard of the shipping I am told they are playing games with the shipping company too and they are had enough of their games and lies. Let us see if they have any good faith or ethics left in this company. I hope they do the right thing and I hope they stop scaming people and change their business practice and be more in line with being ehtical and honest without playing these sad games.
Hello OROGOLD, finally we hear something from you guys!
Let us be clear. With respect to the Orogold Customer service response, I guess you did not read the report carefully.
1st of, I called the 877 number, was told to contact the "store" that the products were purchased. Which I did and you saw my frustrations and waste of time and lack of customer service. So do not play innocent with me or those people who have called you guys out for awagul scam like business acts. Are you clear on that?
2nd, If you read the report, you will discover this is not just an inconvenience. It is out-right wrong and horrible and awaful customer NOT service. Myself and many others plus just recently several others had outlined the same situation and issues. In my case, I could not get anyone to respond and I could not get anyone to stop this shipping. There are rules and laws of sales and consumer right, regardless what you beleive your company states. I made every effort to handle this without going public but your store staff, so called manager or anyone for that matter, never tried to help in spite of many attempts made to resolve this matter.
3rd and read carefully, your unethical sales person, with witness to verify, and will testify if needed, answered my direct question which he understood clearly and I asked it TWICE, and he even was proud of that fact that your company has a "money-back" guarantee for 30 days...and he answered my question which I say again, I asked this "can I get FULL REFUND", R E F U N D, not exchange, FULL Refund if we do not like the product for any reasons or if this does not suit our needs for any reason, the ANSWER was, "Oh Yes", "no problem"! By the way, it does say that on your receipt too that 30-day MBG. So that is where you are wrong assume that there was anything other misrepresentation was made before we purchased these useless items. And for that alone you must refund the unopened and unused packages that was sent back.
4th, make no mistake. My receipts says 30 day money back gurantee and yes "certain restrictions" apply. However, and that is a big concern, and again witnessed by other person too, no place on my receipt says these made up sad rules you had stated in your statement to my concern, nor we were given any paperwork to review before we signed the recepit nor the salespersons there said anything to make sure you read our rules BEFORE buying it because we will not refund. Not a thing, nor reference made nothing was stated, are you clear on that? Because I already directly asked, if I pay this much money for a device which it is a device by the way, plus a cream we bought we never got and used until it was shipped, can I get my money back, his answer was "yes". Then he got my CC in a hurry and proceeded to charging it. So again, it is OUR fault, it is your salespeople's fault and since there were no discssion about this, I should NOT be responsible. Maybe they should done a better job of informing us since they are your employess or represent your company regardless, I see OROGOLD as a company, who gives a hoot if individual stores are different owners, that is the sad excuse for a corporation. You all should know the rules and be ethical and protect your brand.
5th, the products were refused and sent back. I suggest the HNL store or branch or whatever they are, stop playing games, make this right and go and retrive it from the shipping company at Hawaii. Your own customer service at that store after near a week of not getting any return calls, the rep said just refuse it and dispute. I was shocked of this customer service's remedy and tatics and how long it took to even get a call back. So we are harmed and we were not told about anything that you had mentioned of your policy and in fact were told the opposit. Sorry is not going to cut it, I want my money back, you already have the boxes at the shipper. So if you really want to resolve this and not take it up further, you know what you guys need to do and contact me and resolve this.
There is no exchange needed or we want, there is no more delays or talking more about it. Everything is clearly expained and outlined. I do not have the products, and I am stil out near $4000. You want to make it right, here is how you do it. Immediately regardless if it is your store or not, you are ALL OROGOLD, so take responsibility and do the right thing and stop make up excuses for refused and unused and unoppend box and refund my full money back and we will end this.
Otherwise, with the many, many reports that other customers have also complaint, trust me this will get ugly for your company especially when we were NOT disclosed your sad policies and it does not state these items line by line any where on my receipt or the customer sales person referrenced it BEFORE purchasing. I would never purchased it if I know there is no MBG after spending so much for a device and a few lotions. I think it is clear we were scammed. on the receipt made to the device we purchased nor anyone at your store explained anything to us other than pressure sale us to purchase and take our money. You want to make this right, you want to do settle this, you know what you must do. Next, train your sales-staff to disclose everything, make sure they don't lie, they do ensure the customer knows 100% via reading your paperwork and policies before taking their CC and running it. Most of all, make sure you are operating under good-faith and legit fashion and have a real customer support who actually can resolve issues.
So I had contact your 877 CS line as I told you, I did send an email to your corp office too from the website, still waiting for a response so NOW it is your turn to resolve this matter per what you had stated and do not quote me rules and nonsense, does not matter, the harm was done and I got proof and just refund me fully. There is no other way to resolve this between us cilvily before we push this up the chain. Hopefully you will change your business practices. There are rules and laws and regulations for all sales in AMERICA. You really need to do better. I expect a positive response within 48 hours. Make this right.
Be guided accordingly!
Cosmetics
The sales person lied to me and made false promises to get me to make a purchase. When I told him I cannot afford it, he said he would help me by sending me referrals for my business, which was a total lie. I'm now out $5, 000 for cosmetis that I do not need. I didn't end get a list of prices or descriptions of the products, he just put a bunch of product...

At the Oro Gold store, at the Garden State Plaza Mall in Paramus, I purchased Caviar Cream for $500.00 and the sales person told me that if I purchased another cream she would give it to me for 1/2 price. I did tell the sales person that I had allergies and most of the products I use are prescriptions made at a compound pharmacy, she assured me that all ingredients were all natural and fragrance free. I contacted her later that afternoon and stated that the cream she sold me had given me a migraine and I needed to return it, once again I reminded her I had an allergy problem. She said no problem. Well, I went to return it today, within the allowed 7 days, told the sales person I needed to return it, they now tell me it was a promotion! She never told me it was a promotion. The sales person today, told me that I needed to contact Oro Gold Customer Service to discuss this matter. Customer Service told me that it was up to the store's discretion whether to return/refund or not. I was not the only customer at the store this morning, there was another customer with the same problem, she developed a rash under her eyes and needed medical attention! It's a con! The minute they give you a deal there is no way you'll get your money back even with all the receipts! I contacted my credit card and they will be handling this matter, they are going to dispute the charges. I did give the store the option of settling it today but they prefer to take their chances with the credit card company. Read the reviews on independent sites, you'll be dumbfounded at the negative experience people have had with this company.
The Oro Gold store in Paramus, NJ, has closed. Check out the information on the BBB.org website: https://www.bbb.org/us/nj/paramus/profile/cosmetics-sales/oro-gold-cosmetics-0221-90166650
I had a similar experience in arpil-2018 in san francisco (powell street store, next to sir francis drake hotel). beware of sales rep (josef) and his store manager (aviv).
Their scam starts off by josef saying there's a world-famous skin specialist in town for a seminar and that this man (aviv) is paid tens of thousands of dollars in consulting fees by celebrities and other wives of rich businessmen. aviv happens to make a special visit to the store and gives you a free consultation. he tells you terrible things about your skin to scare you into buying all sorts of products you don't need at outrageous prices. unethical sales practice.
Josef also told me their lumior infrared led device was specifically designed for them by nasa (!). (false advertising - nasa developed this technology in the early-2000's for wound healing.) false advertising.
When I got home, I noticed the receipt said aviv was the "store manager" and when I did a web search on the product ingredients, there was nothing special about them - they are the same ingredients you can find in your everyday drugstore products (!). I asked for a refund and they refused (even though they reassured me *during* the store visit that I could return the product anytime because their number 1 priority was my satisfaction with their products). false advertising.
I then filed a dispute with my credit card company for fraud and unethical practices. only then did they send their customer service rep (meg collins) to work with me. when I explained the situation, she claimed she spoke with management and was approved to issue me a refund. to this day, I still have not received this refund.

Aggressive promotion
September 10, 2017 around 5pm
Manhattan around 57th street location
The promoter aggressively tried to persuade me to buy their products (3 for 600$-ish) and when I said categorically "NO" the promoter insulted me of my abilities whether I can count since if I could then I already calculated it how much cheaper they are than other brands.
He asked me if I am married or happy?
If I have many boyfriends?
How old I am?
The prices were not on their product so I could not compare if there was a promotion indeed. Then he offered me (after 15 minutes) everything half price. Now that was a red flag.
I did not want to buy anything and I knew I was not but I was "fascinated" about their fake tactic and what other reasoning the promoter will come up when I said I am not buying anything.
There was another woman sitting next to me who also left very upset.
And by the way, it looks horrible under my eyes since it is extremely dry and the whole cream/gel whatever it is pealing off.
Zorro Gold!
Warning : beware: pretty darned shady sales tactics
July of 2017 I went into an OroGold store to sample products. The salesman, clearly not a professional actor or salesperson, proceeded with lie after lie. Yes, it was that obvious but i wanted to try at least one product. Fake accent, up close and personal darling after darling "i tell you the truth" darling...are you kidding me...i finally got the big break! That special someone high up in management just happened to be there for only an hour to give me a special deal. I mean, how lucky could I be? This was getting good and they offered a free glass of wine...why on earth would a cosmetics store give out wine..? Can you see this one coming ? Taken into a curiously dark room with little light, and a security camera, i was laid down and slathered with goo. Long story short, and the most important, I was told that my unbelievable results were worth over $25, 000.00 ! Because I was so special, this kind woman offered me a deal. Products would be shipped to me over a three year period if I sent pictures of my progress once a month for the discounted price, up front, of only $11, 700. What a deal. Laying there with goop on my face and the door closed, I wanted to run. I kindly declined the offer and mentioned that I had to leave. Within 10 minutes, her price came down to $4500 for the same arrangement. Yep, I ran like the wind. I got out unscathed, but I am very concerned for others who might fall prey to their unethical sales practices. I am unaware of laws and regulations but feel something should be done to protect consumers.

Skin care products
April 19 2017 I was shopping on the Lynnhaven Mall in Virginia Beach VA. I was stopped and offered a free sample of one of the products. I was then pulled in the store to sample other products. The sales person was polite and chatty. I purchased the products and returned to the hotel. I began using the product but by the time I got home my eyes were itching red and watering. It was the product. Live 400 miles away so I contacted the store by email. I was told to contact customer service. When I did I was told by customer service that it would be up to the store where I purchased the products. I was told there was a no refund policy and that I knew that when I purchased the products. At no time was I told that it was non refundable. There was not a sign in the store stating that and I did not see the receipt until I got to the hotel which had no refunds on the bottom of it. I contacted my credit card company to see if they could secure a refund. Nope. I am stuck with a 2600.00 dollar credit card bill. This company should not be allowed to continue in business. They are a scam and fraudulent in their business practices.
*do not be fooled or bullied by these people. they are all scam artists.*
Sales person scammed my 80 year old mother out of more than $5500
On 2/9/2017 my mom went to the mall in Northern California and was pulled into the kiosk by Steve who proceeded to compliment her, telling her that she reminded him of his mother, said that she would be getting 10 spa treatments at a different mall about 30 minutes away. When she told him that she couldn't drive there he said that they would send her a limo. She walked out with a bag full of product. On 2/19/17 her friend found out what had happened and returned to the mall with my mom to get her money back. When they asked for the refund they were told that no one there was authorized to do one. The manager said that they did not offer refunds. My mom's friend friend told the manager that my mom hadn't understood the refund policy and his reply was that she shouldn't be allowed out of her house. When we tried to find the "spa" at the other mall there was only another kiosk that had a room where they applied the product. There is no spa.
This company is using false promises and scamming innocent people with high-pressured sales techniques. I've found more than 4 company names associated with them. Gold Elements, Resveralife, Oro Gold, Forever Flawless and the complaints go on and on. My mom's friend has been trying the different phone numbers associated with this business, but is getting the run around. How does a company like this stay in business? We are currently disputing the charges through her credit card company.
Refuse to buy, refuse to spend a penny on their product.
Unethical behavior
On Feb. 17th, I was shopping in Arrowhead Mall in Peoria, AZ, when I was approached by a man with a free cosmetic gift. He said he had a product that he wanted to try on my eye area to reduce the darkness. So began an hour long ordeal. He showed me the product, gave me the price ($400) and I said "no". Then he bettered the offer, by giving me more product...

Date and time- January 27th, 6 PM
The sales people always stand outside their store trying to sell their product.
As I walked by the sales person he came over to me and asked if I wanted a sample, I smiled and said no thank you.
He got a little closer and he said, "Can I ask you a question?"
I again said, "No thank you."
He leaned over and he said quietly, "You weigh too much".
Obviously he was mad that I didn't take the sample but he was rude.
He was a slim man, I would guess 25 or so. He was neatly groomed, short black hair and really black full eyebrows.
Problem with refund and terribly unethical behaviour
On January 19th I was in the Bay underground concourse in Toronto when a woman tried to approach me to tell me about a "free" offer...I kept saying no that I didn't want anything and wouldn't buy anything. She kept repeating "I won't charge you anything" and after saying no about 5 times and hearing I wouldn't be charged I went into the storefront and then two women sales people were trying to say how beautiful I am and how they "love me"...anyway, they applied some products to my face and kept at me and I really thought I would walk away with a sample but suddenly I was presented with a list of products that I could have for "free" but at the top was the price of over $1, 000. and before I knew it I was paying over $2, 000. I felt awful but I thought I would use the products. After I paid for the Products on my credit card, the sales person wrote..NO REFUND...after I had paid! I must admit that they caught me at a low point and now I'm in debt over my head. I am trying to take back the products as I haven't touched them or used them...but I doubt I can take them back. I doubt this because now I have looked at others who have written online who could not take the products back. Orogold is a scam...or at the least a bullying tactic and preys on people. They should be put out of business before they bankrupt anyone else.
Products 1200 dollars worth
Went to mall.was asked to come inside to try product. Did try. purchased 300. Dollars with of product. Said I couldn't afford the next level for 1600. dollars. He offered me a great deal 900. For the upper level product. I bought it. On way home, my face started to itch terribly. Went home washed off the demo product. Realized I was allergic. Tried to take it back, No refund statement at bottom of receipt was pointed out to me. I was told to fill out a form and I would get response in four days. No response. Called and was given number to call it was a recording. Took product back to try and find something I could use. Was threatened with police because I shared with a customer my story. Was told by manager I had to bring back product in 15 days. Told him the receipt said 30. I am a retiree. Who wants to look the best they can. They left out info I would need to know. Sign among several at cash register that I did not see when I purchased. I had to get other product because they would not give me my money and then tried to say I was too late to exchange. Got new product that I did not want. Basically out 1200. Social Security check less 100. Dollars.
I didn't get money for the previous order and multivitamins didn't fit me
I have purchased multivitamins and masks from the website www.orogoldcosmetics.com. I got the multivitamins, but after a week I had an allergy and decided to return the multivitamins back. The seller agreed and told me that I could change these vitamins for any other. However, when I changed, he told me to pay the additional sum and he hasn’t returned money for the previous order. I don’t know how to react.
High pressure, bait and switch
9-9-15. Atlantic City, Harrah's Resort & Casino.
I was as big a fool as many others who have written. I had just arrived (c. 1:15 pm, after having had only two hours of sleep the night before and getting off a plane) was accosted by one sales person as I walked by the shop who wanted to show me product for bags under my eyes (not surprising given the lack of sleep and plane flight). I stupidly let him; after showing me how well the eye "stuff' worked, he.then he passed me off to another clerk.
This one asked what I used on my face, when I told this one that I just used hand lotion on my face, he pretended great horror and proceeded to show me a number of products, to tell me how much other women just spent, to "demonstrate" on his hand a defoliant and moisturizer, to tell me how much I would like how I looked after using the products. I told him repeatedly I didn't buy anything on the first day and I didn't use cosmetics. He made a "package" of products the price for which he would greatly reduce (to about $399!). I said no; he added what he said were two small containers of a night and a day moisturizer which would last a year and told me he would give me a certificate for a 15 minute demonstration of a facial wrinkle remover (as opposed to the eye wrinkle/bag remover). I said no. He then took away one product and said how about these for $300; I said no. He took away another product, leaving what he told me was a defoliant and the day and night cream for $199.00.
I was so tired of it all, I gave in. What a fool! I'm retired and on a fixed income. I have a PhD - I should have known better. What I got: one day moisturizer; one deep peeling agent; one wrinkle tightening solution that is NOT specifically for eyes.
After I left, I went on line and read that there are no refunds for these products. Also read so many negative reviews (except for those on the Oro Gold website).
This company preys on women as bad as Reader's Digest used to do with their mailings. It should be put out of business.
Unethical practices
They offer a free facial and give you free water. She said she was applying a 1000.00 mask on me,. Tried to get me to pay more money. Tried to get me to buy the whole store. I am careful what I spend. After the facial they rushed me out of the store. Couldn't get money back, when I went back they offered me water 10 times what's in that water?
Skin products
I was waiting for my car to be fixed in Arden mall when a woman outside of the oro gold store complemented my cheap walmart purse. Before I knew it, I was pulled into their store. Everytime she showed me a product, I told her that I couldnt afford it. She kept insisting that I needed their products or I would end up looking old... She gave me a free demenstration of their products, telling me how much I needed everything. In a daze, I kept telling her how I couldnt afford their products... Finally she convinced me to purchase almost $600 dollars worth of stuff..than she asked me if I've ever had a facial. Now never being vain or concerned, I told her no... Than she acted like she was doing a huge favor and passed me on to their skin specialist... In 45 minutes, they convinced me to purchase their facial products, claiming that they'd deduct my first purchase from this one...I ended up swiping my credit card for a grand total of 3200 dollars! Now its going to take me all year to pay off this debt... I only make 15 dollars a hour. They played on my self esteem at the worst time of my life... My husband had just went to prison two days prior... And now I have extra stress added to my heartache for a product I wasn't needing or wanting. I vow to stay away from that side of the mall forever... They're predators. I'm 42 years old... Do I look old?
I too was coaxed into an Orogold store at Park Mall in Tucson, AZ. The sales men are very well trained on how to smooth talk and charm the customers and before I knew it I had charged $715.62 for their daily creams. I was even more of a victim of the sales men's smooth talk and tactics, because I let them talk me into a facial that I was told would only take 5 minutes and ended up being over 30 minutes. I have to admit I did liked the results of the facial and being a woman approaching her 62nd birthday I was caught up in the moment, the charm of the sales men and the thought of looking 10 years younger. However, I told the sales man that I couldn't afford all the products I had been shown at which point I was told that he would give me the weekly care treatment set (Termica) for free. I asked how much the Gold Set was and was quoted $1600.00. This was still way overpriced for my budget, but as I stated I was caught up in a moment of vanity. I had already charged $715.62 so I was quickly doing the math in my head and I came up with approximately $2300.00. The sales man also included other free product telling me it was because he liked me so much. I wasn't told a total amount before my credit card was run. In fact I was still in the room where I received the facial while my card was being run. When I saw the total of $4, 144.55 I was taken back and asked why so much? I wasn't shown the whole receipt just the signing portion. The sales person then said I was getting a very good price plus all the free products. I thought I might be being charged for tax on the free items and I thought they were adding in the $715.62 to the total. Feeling so foolish for letting them talk me into so much and still being confused about all the charges I still felt pressured to sign and did so stupidly. Then I was told that the sales man wanted to set up a Free Facial so I said yes and scheduled a facial, which I have since cancelled. I was told that in order to set up the facial that he needed me to fill out a form. This was very misleading and in my continued stupidity I filled out the form with my name and phone number and I signed it. I later found out I had signed a form stating "No refunds on merchandise." When I went to my daughters house and told her how I was taken advantage of by the charm and flattery she went with me back to the mall to return the product. We discovered at that time that I hadn't even been given the receipts for either of the charges. When we told the sales man he produced the receipts very quickly at which time I realized I had been charged for items I was told I was getting for free, and that the Gold Mask Set was charged in the amount of $2142.00 NOT $1600.00, which I was told. The sales man that promised the free items was not in the store when my daughter and I went to return the product, but the sales man that gave me the facial was and he would not let us return the product or talk to the credit card company to refund the charges. We did call the credit card company while we were in the store and gave the transaction numbers on the receipts. We left the product and took a form that we were given to try and communicate with the owner of the store regarding trying to cancel the credit card transaction and letting him know we had returned the product within 3 hrs of purchase. I know Orogold has a "No Refund' policy, but I also know there is a "Buyer's Remorse Law" that states purchases over $500.00 must be refundable upon return of product for the full purchase amount if returned within 3 days. We returned the product within 3hrs. To continue with my complaint, we were contacted by the sales man that made the original charges and told that Orogold wanted to make things right and would we please come into the store on Wednesday. (I received this call on Monday December 28, 2015) When I realized that my credit card had been charged and that even though we had called and requested it be cancelled that the card had been charged after all. I called the credit card company again and was told that the cancellation must be done in the store by a sales representative. After realizing that the charges on my card had not been cancelled, my husband wanted us to go into the store and resolve the problem and get a full refund, (or at least get the product we had returned). Again, we were given the run around about No Refunds and that I needed to fill out the form I had been given and wait for the owner to contact me. (I had filled out the form and e-mailed it on Monday December 28th). I told the sales man that I had filled out the form and e-mailed it but hadn't heard back. He said I would hear back on Thursday December 31, 2015. I didn't. While my husband and I were in the store we were convinced to take the product and told if we didn't that it would be put back on the shelves and there would be no proof we had returned it. I didn't want to be out almost $5000.00 as well as product so we took the product and left the store. (As a side note I asked the credit card company if I took a picture of the product being returned to the store would that help and was told, "it wasn't that easy") I told the sales man I was still going to fight for a refund and that the product would remain in the original bags untouched until some agreement had been made. I hope by posting this I can receive some direction as to where I can go to get help with this matter.
Product did not last like they said it would!
I purchased several items from orogold on march 23, 2015. The sales person expressed how long each product would last! The serum she said was enough to use daily for 1 year! Other products are supposed to last 1 1/2 years. Today is june 7, 2015! That's just over 2 months and it ran out last night. What a rip off! This product cost $350! I certainly considered the daily expense of these products over a year to year and a half. I have used this product strictly as instructed. One pump a night... Less than pea sized. What I thought would cost about $30./month was $175. I loved the product but would not purchase again. The other products are disappearing just as fast! Two of them have a pump and the empty contents of the jar are visible. I can tell they are nearly 1/4 gone when the should be 1/10 gone! What a rip off!
Never explained return policy
I passed by the Orogold store and the sales lady named Carla lured me in by saying she can help me with my facial blemishes. I was interested so after about 40 minutes of being introduced to several facial products she asked me how I plan to make my payment before I commited to buy anything. I spent close to $700 worth of facial products with my credit...

After an allergic reaction to their cosmetics, returned merchandise. After a prolonged battle, received a credit card refund, even though the SF outlet initially refused. Today I received an attepted virus attack on my phone, from Orogold SF, with the return phone number [protected]. Since I know their reputation well, I deleted the message without opening.
Product causes allergic reaction-no refund
I purchased $690 worth of cosmetics after a highly pressured sales pitch on many of their products. I was just going to get the 24K multi-vitamin peeling after it was demonstrated on my skin. After using it on and off over next several months I developed an excoriated area on my face where it was used. My dermatologist recommended stop usage of it.
I also used the eye serum and eye cream on and off for many months and developed tearing eyes, excoriation under the eyes and stopped using it after again my dermatologist said to. When I contacted them, it has been 9 months, they said under no exception would they refund any of my money. This place is a rip-off, good customer service in good faith would refund a portion. I have at least 2/3 of the creams left. Don't go into this store!
I was pulled into Orogold by a lady after getting a sample from her. She applied products after products on my face and hands with another Eastern European guy chatting with me next to her.The results were so instant and amazing that I ended up buying $800 worth of skincare products. After reading your reviews, I don't know if I should use them or not. I have never felt so regretted of impulse buying before. I will never make big purchase without doing research ever again!
Unethical practice
Shopping with my boyfriend in Garden State Plaza in NJ. He leaves me to go shop as I catch a 10 minute massage. On my way out, I pass Oro Gold. A heavy accented man approaches me and grabs my hand and tells me he has something to show me. As I have worked in a mall before, I am accustomed to the aggressive sales approach for many of the "As Seen On TV" Skin Care lines. I am an industry professional and usually if I have time will humor the person (as I feel they too are just trying to make a living). Needless to say, about five minutes in and a few "no not todays", he continues to go into detail about how the ingredients will help get rid of the wrinkles on my forehead. Never before have I seen these as a problematic concern of mine, and as someone who works as a skin therapist, rule of thumb, NEVER say wrinkles. And NEVER address them if your client has not. It was at this point in time that I advised him I am a licensed esthetician in NY and NJ and have been working as such as well as a Makeup Artist for the past ten years. I am 28 years old and any "wrinkles" you have just pointed out to me are already being addressed by another skin care line that would never insult, aggregate or pressure someone into purchasing something just to make a sale. Shame on Oro Gold and shame on Garden State Plaza for allowing them to do business in such a manner.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
A sales pitch is a sales pitch. You don't have to buy anything you don't want, nor should expect someone to "save you" for your own inability to walk away or say NO. STOP GOING. You are going because you think you are getting something for free right? Well, how do you think they are suppose to pay rent, salaries, electric, taxes, etc. If you don't like being hassled from a used car salesman, then don't go on their lot, right? You need to stop going and trying to get something for free. And if you want it for "free" then put up with the high pressure sales approach. That's your cost for the free facial.
Also in Puerto Rico are doing same practices. I bought like $800 in products and they gave me like 7 facial for free. The thing is that every time I go for a facial they start to pushing in buying more products. I say no, that I have to wait, then they keep doing offers saying "this is just for now only, you are going to miss this opportunity". I keep saying I can't, but every time I go there is same harassment! This practices needs to be stopped by someone!
