Heartless PartyCity Manager Ruins Surprise for Sister's 50th Birthday
I was really excited to get some balloons for my sister's 50th birthday. She's been going through a tough time lately because her husband was diagnosed with stage four cancer. I wanted to surprise her by decorating the outside of her house before she got home from work. I thought it would cheer her up and show her that we all care about her.
So, I went to PartyCity to get some balloons. I was hoping to get them filled with helium so they would float and look really nice. But when I got there, the manager, Delilah, told me that there were two orders in front of me and it would be a 40 minute wait. I was a little disappointed, but I understood that they were busy. However, there was no one else in the store waiting, so I figured the orders were probably pick ups.
I explained my situation to Delilah and asked if she could take a few seconds to fill my two balloons. I thought it wouldn't be a big deal since it was only two balloons. But Delilah was really insensitive and heartless. She didn't care about my sister's situation or how much this meant to me. Instead, she flexed her power and told me I'd have to wait.
I couldn't believe it. I was so upset that I walked out of the store in tears. I knew I wouldn't make it to my sister's house in time to surprise her. Later, I called PartyCity to get Delilah's manager's name, but she wouldn't give it to me. I was so disappointed that making a customer happy meant nothing to her.
It's really sad that Delilah couldn't take two seconds out of her day to make someone's day special. It was only two balloons, but it would have meant the world to my sister. Instead, Delilah showed how much she doesn't care about her customers. It was really heartbreaking.
Unprofessional and Frustrating Experience at PartyCity: A Review
So, we went to PartyCity to pick up some balloons for a party that was supposed to start at noon. We had a receipt that said the balloons would be ready by 11am, but when we got there, they weren't ready. The employee who helped us was mumbling and said that there was a big order for 150 balloons that they didn't know about, so we would have to wait at least an hour. We were pretty frustrated because they knew about our order, but whatever. We decided to cancel the order and get a refund.
When the clerk was refunding our order, he didn't refund the whole amount. We asked him about it, and he said that there were some charges on there that he didn't know about. We had only bought napkins and balloons, and the napkins definitely didn't cost the extra $30 that he was talking about. We asked to speak to the manager, and he said that he was the manager and that he didn't take our order. We were pretty shocked that the manager couldn't read the receipt and that he was trying to pass the blame onto someone else. Is that what they teach managers at PartyCity?
This was just the latest incident that made us really frustrated with PartyCity. There have been so many other incidents where we've had to bite our tongues and just deal with it. We've decided that we're never going to shop at that location again. It shouldn't be that hard to show some professionalism, right? We just want to be able to get what we need without any hassle.
PartyCity.com: Disappointing Customer Service and Website Accuracy
I recently made an online purchase from PartyCity.com for a Halloween costume for my granddaughter. I was excited to find the perfect doll costume for her and quickly placed my order. The website stated that the costume would ship the same day, which was great news. However, my excitement quickly turned to frustration when I received a confirmation email that showed a completely different costume than the one I had ordered, and at a different price.
I immediately knew that there was a problem and called PartyCity's customer service line. Unfortunately, my experience with the representative was not a positive one. She insisted that the costume mentioned in the email was the one I had ordered, despite my protests. After arguing with her for some time, I decided to end the call and try again the next day.
The following day, I checked my credit card statement and saw that the costume coming was indeed the wrong one. I called PartyCity's customer service line again and spoke to two more representatives. The first representative was unable to help me at all and transferred me to someone else. The second representative agreed that the costumes were different and expressed confusion as to how this could have happened. She then informed me that every doll costume on their website was out of stock and that the person who filled my order had taken it upon themselves to substitute it with the wrong costume. She also mentioned that their website was not updated, which was frustrating to hear.
As a result of this mistake, my granddaughter is now without her costume and extremely upset. I have to refuse the package when it is delivered and keep my fingers crossed that I will get reimbursed. This experience has left a bad taste in my mouth and I am extremely disappointed with PartyCity's customer service and their website's lack of updated information.
Overall, I would not recommend PartyCity to anyone looking for a reliable and efficient online shopping experience. This company needs to take responsibility for their mistakes and work to improve their customer service and website accuracy. As a ticked off grandmother, I am left feeling frustrated and disappointed.
Disappointing Experience with Party City: False Information and Poor Quality Balloons
I recently ordered some balloons from PartyCity.com for my son and husband's birthday party. We were going for a police theme, so I wanted to make sure we had plenty of blue and black balloons to go around. I called up the Party City location in Slidell, LA this morning to confirm that they would blow up all of the balloons I ordered without any extra fees. The staff member on the phone assured me that as long as I brought in the order form, they wouldn't charge me anything to fill up the balloons.
Unfortunately, I recently had surgery and wasn't able to drive, so I had a friend run to the store to pick up the balloons and get them filled. To my surprise, my friend was charged $30 to fill up the balloons! I was shocked, as I've purchased balloons from Party City at least 8 times a year and have never been charged for them to be filled before. I even went back and checked my past records of purchase, and not once was I charged for balloon inflation.
Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Party City. The staff were rude and unhelpful, and even the manager seemed like she was on autopilot, repeating the same thing over and over again. I'm not even upset about having to pay the extra fee - I'm just upset that the sales lady I spoke to this morning gave me false information. I would have gladly gone somewhere else if I had known I was going to be charged extra.
To make matters worse, the balloons started losing air after only 4 hours! What a waste of money. I will never purchase from Party City again, and I would advise others to do the same. I'll stick to buying balloons from the dollar store - at least they won't lose air after a few hours!
Balloon delivery
Good Morning,
I've been a part time Party City employee for almost 3 yrs. and I recently placed a balloon delivery for my daughter from a Phoenix store. I know that if there are NOT specific directions we tie the bouquets for "transport", but we also try to make them look presentable. My order arrived a hot mess with one big cluster of balloons with the mylar at the top.
I'm very disappointed that the employees felt it was okay to send them out that way. My order #[protected]-D, area code 85032, was an embarrassment. I get that the weekends can be very busy and stressful, but we still need to CARE as employees. NOT A GOOD LOOK.
Desired outcome: REFUND!
Service
I put in a very large ballon order 3 days from the date it was supposed to be delivered. Party city sent updates on the second day that my order was completed and ready to be delivered. On the day of delivery I called the store to find out they are just starting my order and it will be late. I had a group of crying children waiting for their balloons. It came 5 hours late. I used their chat box to speak to a customer service agent who gave me attitude about my situation. I requested a call from the manager. No one called, I than called their customer service line to speak with a manager. The rep said all the managers were in a meeting and took down my number for a call back. It’s been 48 hours no one called me back and the balloon that came
Late barely had any air in them. Worst experience yet
Desired outcome: For the amount I paid I did not get the service I deserved.
Staff member misbehaved
I would like to formally bring to your attention an incident that occurred on May 14, 2023, which took place at your store-The party city, Abbotsford, B.C. My family and I were shopping for my daughter's 5th birthday on Mother's Day when an incident occurred involving one of your staff members. (long hair guy) My daughter had placed a whistle in her mouth, prompting my 15-year-old son to intervene and prevent her from using it. Shortly after, the staff member approached us and proceeded to frighten my children by stating that they would need to purchase the whistle before using it. Although my son agreed to purchase the whistle, the staff member continued to follow us throughout the store, prompting concern and unease from my son who approached me to report the incident. I would like to take this opportunity to relay that my children have exhibited exemplary behavior throughout our residency of eleven years in Canada. Specifically, we have frequented Party City Abbotsford on numerous occasions without any incidents. During a recent visit, I instructed my daughter not to ingest or tamper with any items, and we happened to notice an employee following our movements. Subsequently, the aforementioned individual returned accompanied by a colleague named Denise. When I inquired of the gentleman as to the situation at hand, he declined to provide any explanation. However, the woman present was forthright in her declaration that we must immediately vacate the premises. I became quite incensed as I had not anticipated such treatment. Despite my repeated insistence that she listen to me, the woman persisted in arguing with my wife and had the audacity to suggest that we had not raised our children adequately. Then my behaviour was changed and I got angry. as it was a personal attack. Such behavior on the part of a staff member is most unprofessional and regrettable. Following an altercation in which our attempts to reason with a particular individual were futile, we subsequently departed the premises and undertook our shopping endeavors at an alternative establishment located in a separate locale. Regrettably, the indelible impact of this experience has left my entire family in a state of distress as we reflect on the events which transpired. Our celebration of Mother's Day was irreparably marred due to the actions of this individual.
Desired outcome: These kind of mentally retarderd people should not work in this kind of kids store.if they can’t tolerate kids.I need the apology from the lady and that man.
Does not take returns
I bought a product that was on sale on the 11th of May. I did not suite my needs and I wanted to return it for another product (which would have cost more). On the 12th of May when I went to the store, I was informed that this product is on final clearance, and they will not take it back. Even though I was never informed of this orally or in writing when I bought it. The product also wasn't on a final clearance sale. There was NO indication whatsoever that I cannot return this product. I looked at the receipt and also no indication on the receipt that this is a final product. I mention it to the lady working at Party City Cambridge was informed that they do sometimes not tell the customers, but I still cannot return the item.
Desired outcome: I would like to return the item and receive my money back.

Misinformed information & reimbursement request
I am making a complaint regarding a misunderstanding of ordering your products online. I’ll start off with my order numbers: [protected]-D & [protected]-B. I was under the impression that there were delivery fees for both order numbers. So the confusion starts with me putting in an online order on 3/22/23 for the following products: Bright Pink Dessert Plates 20ct, 1 ct, 12 in, Bright Pink Pearl Balloon-Inflated x6, Bright Pink Plastic Treat Bags 25ct, Mini Pink Pacifier Baby Shower Favor charms 24ct, Mini Plastic Babies Baby Shower Favor Charms 12ct, Mini Bright Pink Popcorn Treat Boxes 5ct x3, Bright Pink Twisty Lollipops 20pc (pending refund; item not available), 1 ct, 12in, Pink Balloon, Inflated x6. I had put this order in online and it wasn’t until my payment was made that the confirmation showed that the 2nd pair of the 6 balloons will be delivered separately and that I would be getting charged $9.99 a second time. So at this time it showed that I would be paying $9.99 x2 because of the deliveries being separate. Immediately after seeing this I called the store to cancel the delivery for these balloons because I didn’t want to be charged a second time for delivery. The associate at the Store in Newington, CT stated that I wouldn’t be charged an additional delivery fee and that this may be a standard receipt. The associate not once mention to me that some of these items are actually at their store, as I never ordered from the online store before. The associate stated to allow a few hours and the fee should be reimbursed. So I took the associate for their word in which a day later I am very disappointed that I had been misinformed. I called the Newington, CT store today (3/23/23), in which I first talked with an associate that stated that my refund for the lollipops may take a few days which is understandable. The disappointing part was when I picked up these items I wasn’t verbally told that the lollipops weren’t available. Once these items were picked up from the store, my next destination was the event. If the receipt that I received in an email stated that the lollipops were not going to be available, I would’ve just went to another store to purchase the item. Unfortunately, I wasn’t aware until I started decorating and noticed they weren’t in the bag. The second question I had for the associate was the inquiry regarding the delivery fee. It was then that the manager told me that the balloons had been delivered to the store and that when I ordered, I chose to have the balloons delivered rather than to have them picked up in the store. I asked the manager, why would I have an item delivered to the store and the store actually has the same items? All I got as an answer was that the item I chose was to be delivered to the store. I again, told the manager that the order was all done on one order and it doesn’t make sense why I would have a delivery sent to the store and pay a delivery fee for an item that I could have easily just ordered when I picked up my other items. I am requesting a refund as I was misinformed regarding the $9.99 delivery fee. Please let me know if your agency will be able to accommodate the request. Thank you ahead of time for your assistance.
Desired outcome: Reimbursement on delivery fee as the product I paid for delivery was actually available in my store.
Service
I went to the galleria location in Charlotte to return a shirt I bought for dr Seuss day for my class. A big black lady named Shanika was rude from the beginning. She was talking on a personal phone call cussing, laughing, yelling while I was standing there! The whole time as she’s returning the shirt she has an attitude she’s huffing and puffing.
Desired outcome: She needs a different job! She cussed at me after asking her name because she was so rude and disrespectful
Balloons from Feb 25, 2023
My name is Adriana DiNenno. I dropped off balloons a week again to be picked up Saturday, Feb 26 at 11 a.m. I left two foil balloons and six Roblox balloons (latex) - purple, blue and pink. It was $17. I picked up the balloons at the Exton, PA store around 11 a.m.
I was given two foil balloons and four latex balloons, one of which was plain white. I was told one balloon popped so they had to sub it with the plain white. I then pointed out that not only did they pop one, they were completely missing a balloon. The guy went over to someone else's balloons. He seemed to know exactly where to find it, and plucked my balloon out of that bouquet. What?
I then said this white balloon looks just awful. This is the best you can do for a sub? It was like no one tried to make it look even nice. I then pushed to pick one myself. I picked a nice silver latex. He changed the arrangement and it looked semi okay.
A few things:
1. I had more Roblox latex at home, if they would have called to tell me.
2. No communication on what color I wanted. I hated the way the white looked.
3. I was shorted another balloon that they gave someone else for no reason.
Really?
I deserve a refund.
Desired outcome: Refund for 18.00
Customer service issues
Hello, I am writing to place a complaint on party city located in Richmond Hill, Toronto at Yonge and Weldrick. This complaint is about the manager whose name is Eran if I got it right. On Thursdays Feb 9/2023 I have done some shopping for a friend of mine who is on a vacation and plans on having a party for her daughter next week. Because I needed to make...

Feb 8 I placed an order on line for paper goods for a superbowl party. There is no indication the order exists and I never received a confirmation yet $131 was taken from my bank account. When I called the number provided on their web page, I was basically dismissed. Never received a call back as promised. I used the text feature and it was a scripped answer without providing me with a solution or a next step. I just want the money they took without providing any product. No need for paper goods now because Amazon is taking care of it. I want my money returned!
Desired outcome: Refund of order not placed but funds taken

We went in the store 1/8/2023 to buy one Birthday balloon for our daugher.
The girl behind the counter working balloons said to us at about 1 pm that she could not help us until 4:30 pm. That they were backed up. We said you don't have one person helping your store traffic, how long can one balloon take. Her answer was no we can't! We had other shopping to do and after that we happened back by the store 2+ hours later to try and get the balloon for the party. No, No, No was the answer, not until 4:30. If these people could not help their customers at all, then why were their doors open? You could not pay me to go back in there again. Many times have we spent lots of money on decorations but not anymore. We won't be back!
Desired outcome: Just an appreciation of their customers which obviously their managers have none.
This company is VERY poorly run and will only get worse as INSTEAD of cutting CEO salaries, they cut the store payroll hours. Its the typical CEO GREED that has put Party City into bankruptcy. Look up the CEO salary- $2.4 million a year. Then you have the useless board of directors and other executives who are WAYYYY OVERPAID. Cut out all the executives and replace them with people who will ACTUALLY work 90-100hr weeks and make things better for way less money than these overpaid executives. save 100 million right there. FIRE THE ENTIRE CORPORATE STAFF!
Store Safety Issue
I am a frequent shopper at the Party City location, 4410 Wyoming Boulevard NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87111. I noticed in mid October that the storefront doors and some storefront windows were boarded up and was saddened that that type of vandalism had occurred.
I returned mid November for Thanksgiving holiday shopping and the same boarded up windows and storefront remained, I thought it should have been fixed in 30 days... I was there today and same thing. As I was leaving the store I opened the door right into the face of another customer, as you cannot see who is walking up when you are exiting and the customers entering cannot see who is coming out. She was okay, but this needs to be fixed. (photos attached).
Who is the point of contact for me to follow up with? Safety Concern and a general eyesore...

I ordered a costume on 10/23/22. The payment was removed from my card. On 10/24/22 I received a email that the costume was out of stock in my size and I would not be charged. But my card was already charged. So I called the costumer service line on 10/24/22 and spoke with a customer service rep, who then did a separate order to have the costume shipped to my neighborhood store on fowler ave. Witch I was then given a discount of 10% off the second order. Witch I was charged again for. Then on 10/26/22 I received a email that my order has arrived at my neighborhood store. So I call the store to confirm and I was or the phone with them for and hour. They never found my order or the costume. So then called the customer service line. And I spoke with a supervisor and he offered my a full refund for the second order and 20% discount. Keep in mind I still haven't gotten the first refund. So now I have no costume for my halloween event that im throwing. And to pending transitions that won't clear until after halloween. Both of these issues were on the company's behalf and all I get is a refund and 20% discount. I have been purchasing products from party city for years and this has never happened. So now I don't have a costume or money.
Desired outcome: My whole event is ruined and all i got was refund and a 20% discount ? i have no0 costume to wear top my own event .
Service
We do not have a Party City that is close to us. I drove an hour to Party City in Melbourne, FL (1557 W New Haven Ave.) to purchase balloons and other decorations for my husbands birthday. I chose only 5 birthday balloons and paid for them to be filled with helium. I was the only one in the store. After 10 minutes of waiting off to the side, an employee approached me and asked me if the balloons were for me. I confirmed. She then told me that it would be at least a half an hour before I would get them, and that I had to come back later. I asked if she could please fill them now, I told her that I would wait, and expressed that I was far from home, and that I was the only one in the store. She told me that she couldn’t fill them for me because she was working on some other online orders that she had to fill. I expressed that it was only 5 latex balloons and I asked again if she could please do them now, while we were talking. She said no. She then told me that if I didn’t want to wait, I could return my order and get my money back. Annoyed at her response and how I was being treated as an in-store customer, I processed a full return and took my business elsewhere. In all, after making my purchase, I waited the initial 10 minutes for my balloons to be filled, another 10 minutes listening to this woman tell me how she couldn’t fill my 5 balloons and an additional 10 minutes for staff to figure out how to process the return. This is over 30 minutes of wasted time, rather than just taking the 3 minutes to fill 5 latex helium balloons so that I could be on my way. Absolutely ridiculous. What a colossal waste of time and money, and an embarrassing display of customer service at Party City, Melbourne, FL.
Desired outcome: A Party City gift card, to compensate for lost time, gas, and inconvenience as an incentive for us to give you our business again in the future.
Not sticking to store policy
Upon arrival customer service was discombobulated on organized and unhelpful there wasn’t enough employees it within the store to do up on the orders that was there the overly explaining that they was overly shorthanded and overly underwhelms so at this point I’m all at this point they were not able to conduct the proper things that needed to be done for the order allowing me to stand in the store over 20 minutes after saying that they won’t be able to do the order of the balloons and saying that they will not be able to place the order into after five 2 o’clock pick up time will be after 2 o’clock what time is between 10 stores completely and organize on ethical repeats over they can not take my order tagged by multiple employees no one was in the store picking up balloons but walk-in order was basically denied
Desired outcome: Walk out because they said I had to order online
Filthy
At 2:15 PM on September 27, 2022 I went into the party city in Farragut Tennessee. A very upscale neighborhood. I went into the bathroom and would not even let my granddaughter inside it! I have never in 40 years, have seen a bathroom that was that disgusting at a public store!
I promptly left the store I can’t even imagine buying anything from a place that would be that disgusting. I don’t think it has ever been cleaned in 10 years and there was no toilet paper no soap and the people that work there acted like they could care less.
Desired outcome: PLEASE somebody from the headquarters needs to go into this store!
