Unidentified electric charges
Our company; Ferraro Properties Inc, has been requesting copies and proof of charges that have been transferred to various accounts over the past 3-4 years. We have spoken to numerous customer service reps, emailed supervisors and can not get a clear account of what properties and units are being transferred.
We currently only have 2 accounts, one account is the house account of a multi-family bldg. and the other is our office. All of the transfers have been added to the office account and since we don't have 4k to pay the bill we are in jeopardy of having the electric turned off at the office. The account number is [protected]. I spoke with a supervisor Akil today and he said we are not eligible to be put on a payment plan.
This entire issue has been a nightmare and I have not been able to speak with one person from PECO who has been able to provide the documentation to prove the transfer were justified. We recently sold a property and the new owner did not call to have electric put in new name. When I received the bill I offered to send the HUD over to prove we no longer owned the property and today 10 months later I am told that someone called and left a voice message for me to send the HUD. This is what I want to be able to confirm has not been the case in 2018 & 2019.
We don't have a choice to use another electric company and the customer service over the past 18 months has been unable to help us resolve this matter.
I can be contacted by email or cell below to speak with someone further on this matter.
Appreciate your patience.

Furnace
Peco sent a subcontactor to my house to change meters and turned my furnace OFF and when they left they did not turn it back on. I tried but do not know how. It is your responsibilty to turn furnaces back on when you turn them off. I need someone to turn my furnace on. I don't want to strike a match and blow up the house. Please send a technician to help put it back on. Address is 2201 Windsor Avenue Drexel Hill, Pa 19026 and my name is Jerry and phone number is [protected]... thank you for help in this matter, Jerry
Desired outcome: have it fixed
Service
Peco Crew working in the area caused a power surge and outage to our area on 9/26 around 10am. Power was completely restored to all but our house and a neighbor. We both had partial power. Peco contractors dug up our driveway and fixed the external issue. We had property damage inside/outside the house. The list includes: pool water heater, Refrigerator, oven, TV, air hockey table, fan, keurig, power surge cables, lights, outlets and circuit breakers. Not to mention our driveway which was temporarily patched. They advised to fill out claim form which I did. A gentlemen by the name of Tim Grow left a message 2 days ago and have been unresponsive since then. I've left numerous messages and sent emails to the claim department with no response. I had to initiate a complaint with the public utility commission today. Not only have they caused a major inconvenience, they have absolutely 0 sensitivity to our situation and have been no help at all. What a disgraceful company.
Power
Today my power was shut off in my apartment. I called Peco to figure out why, they stated I owed over $1000 to have my service restored. Even though just days prior I was sent an email statement that my bill was due next week. I tried to ask the customer service to provide me with more information as to why I was being charged this amount and they would not give me a straight answer. I asked to speak to a manager or someone who would be able to explain the situation more to me and I was denied. The customer service rep I spoke with was very rude and gave me no options at all. Unfortunately I was unable to get his name. This company seems very shady, especially after reading other complaints that are somewhat similar to mine. In the time of a pandemic this is horrible to shut someone's power off. I am lucky enough to have a job but what about someone that might not? I had no choice but to pay them $1100 to have my services turned back on because I have a partner that works from home full time and can not go without power. I would really like to know what my money went towards and If I will be seeing any return for it.
Desired outcome: My money back
Employee Levar Brown
A Peco employee. He's rides around here times of night blasting his music. At first I was shocked to see a Peco Truck with rims and tints. But it's either loud arguing when he's around. I'm wondering if your company pays attention to who's actually working? If not that than / Or intense adulting while in uniform. Check those GPS. I hope it stop! Next time I will take photos! I don't want to be annoying i want peace.
Desired outcome: I don’t want to hear or see that ghetto Peco truck with rims and tints. It’s a company and a ghetto representation. I want to see a business truck and not get scared that
You'd have more success at making it change by contacting the police. Be careful about taking photos; It can aggravate the tense situation. I made a similar threat to a company and instead of the company helping it only escalated the situation. Now I'm an online stalking victim.
The police are your best chance at a peaceful and SAFE resolution to your issue.
I didn’t want to get the cops involved. They’re such a big company I would expect for them to talk to him. He was bold enough to tell me his name after almost crashing into me one day with his pimped out truck. I guess they need people that bad they don’t mind being represented in such a distasteful way. Well, cops would definitely be called next time if this happens again. I just don’t want a problem with the girl he has in there sometimes. For a piece of mind. 911
Billing
None of our payments are clearing the PECO system. We've sent checks that just disappeared and made online payments that provide feedback as if the payment went through but they don't. Nothing is clearing our bank accounts and nothing is showing up in our PECO billing history. Meanwhile, we are getting charged late fees.
We have been trying to contact customer service but our calls invariably get dropped by the automated system. We have tried for hours and can NOT reach a human capable of looking into the problem.
PECO is leaving us without any recourse and a constant fear of having our electric switched off.
Desired outcome: I would like PECO to resolve this problem and reverse any late fees resulting from it. If I have to sacrifice a day of pay to visit their office in person I will also want PECO to compensate.
Natural gas substation
Hello,
I am a resident at 2102 Boxwood Drive, Broomall, PA 19008.
PECO is proposing building a natural gas substation at the corner of Cedar Grove and Sproul Rds.
In discussions with the township, representatives from PECO claimed that residents were notified and no complaints were noted.
We were not notified. We object to the use of this location.
PECO rejected a change.org petition. Therefore, I am here writing to let my voice be heard.
Please work with Marple Township to find a location which is not directly in the middle of a dense residential neighborhood surrounded by businesses and schools.
Desired outcome: No substation built on Cedar Grove Rd
Solar refund
Just received my bill dated 9/23/2020. I used 220 kwh. Through my outflow meter I generated 783 kwh. T he difference of 563 kwh was kept by peco. I have had solar for two years and peco has kept all of my thousands of outflow kwh. I was told that peco
Was required to buy back my outflow. Is that correct? I am billed through north american power I can see that peco did not credit my outflow to them. Does peco simply keep my excess as a profit for them?

Property destruction
There was work being done in front of my house while I was out of town. When I returned I found my drive way entrance cement was broken up in a few different areas. My neighbor informed me that it was peco's constriction vehicles that did the damage and then proceeded to show me the pictures that he took to prove it. I tried to call to file a complaint, however, once I stated my reason for calling I was then transferred and hung up on. I am really going to need some clarity on whether or not peco is going to take care of this or not. I know that my driveway is most likely not going to make it through the winter and I am not going to be held liable if someone gets hurt walking in front of my house. If you could please get back to me as soon as you can it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
Electricity
I, Alexandra Gonzales moved into the the property and the electricity was shut down due to a previous bill that was no even mine. I am working hard to maintain myself and my pets. The current weather with temperatures above 90 degress is enough suffering and all this for a bill that is not even mine for a previous tenant. Please take into consideration that I am not able to come up with the money to pay that $1400 bill to have the electricity turned back on. My house is very hot and I will probably need a month or more to come up with the money. If there is any way you can help with a payment plan or anything of that sort. Thanks.
Alexandra Gonzalez
Electric
The power has gone on and off multiple times throughout the course of July- so far. There have been times where it was out for 8+ hours and then gone on and off for 15-30 minutes 10+ times in a day. Not only is there an excessive heatwave- I have younger children, my elderly father and our pets who are at the house. This is not acceptable- by any means. My...

7/16/2019 approximately 8:30 PM power went out prior to a rain storm. Power was to be restored approximately 11:00 Pm however it did not come back on until 4:00 AM This is the second time within a month the power went out, it took more than 8 hours both times to restore. this outage occurred on the West Side of Darby Road, Havertown Pa affecting over 250 customers.
My address is 1 1/2 West Turnbull Ave Havertown Pa
I received a bill statement 10 days after the payment was due
I'm hoping that all inbound calls to PECO automatic call center is recorded because I had placed several calls during the month of July 2019 to find out didn't receive an electric bill for the month of July. When I entered in my account number the automatic system response system stated that my balance was $ 0.00. On July 12, I finally received a PECO invoice stating that my PECO balance was $159.81 with a due date of July 2, 2019.
What kind of unethical billing practices is PECO subjecting their customers that always pay their bill on time. I am a customer with "Life Lock" services which I will contact if this billing mishaps adversely damage my credit rating in any shape or form.
I'll mail out the a check for $159.81 on 07/13/2019 but PECO has lost me a potential returning customer forever.
Electric
I'm getting very tired of peco electric going out from Storms etc along with ppl electric but ppl service comes back on at estimated time while peco electric remains off with a new extended time. It happens over & over..ppl quoted restore time is accurate while pecks restore time extends another 12 to 24 or more hours. Ppl is looking very good to me lately & this is day 2 of no power due to storms with ETA of restoration at 8pm tonight but more storms coming soon so I've about given up hope. Awful, just sick of it & can't afford a generator.

PECO
In March I discovered that there was a current flow of several amps on my ground wire, connecting between my service panel and my copper water plumbing. I called PECO to report this problem and they sent out a technician to investigate. Then wound up calling in a more senior technician because they didn't understand what the problem was. He made the same measurements and turned off my main breaker and told me not to use my system because it was dangerous.
I hired an electrician who Thoroughly investigated my entire electrical system and found no problems. I also went to my neighbors house and found the same situation and his electrical system. Subsequently I went into three other houses on my block and found the same problem. I then called PECO again To tell them what I had found in the adjacent houses. They sent another technician out and he made measurements in my house and in another house across the street that he was able to get access to. He told me that he found the same current flow on thisGround wire as well. So far there have been five people including myself who have made this measurement and found that there is several amps on this ground blind, depending on the current load in the house.
The next day a PECO technician from Quality Power came out to make measurements on my problem. He claimed that he only measured 30 mA and a very low voltage. I dispute is this measurement. First of all the point at which he made the measurement has 0 Voltage because the water meter is conductive. To make the measurements correctly you have to pull the ground wire all the way out of the first ground clamp. This takes some time and effort.
The technician from quality power said he was using a better meter than the other technicians had and that it was recently calibrated. But calibration only usually Accounts for about 10% at most, not 100 fold as we are seeing in his measurement.
I think pico need to take this situation seriously and express the true problem. I am submitting this complaint for myself and my 4 neighbors.

electricity service
On October 1, I discovered that I needed to get out of my current living situation immediately. After searching aggressively, I decided to apply for an apartment in Lansdowne, PA. I had planned to be out of my current living space by 10/15/18. I applied for the new apt on 10/9 and got approved for it on 10/10. I called Peco customer service on 10/10/ 18 to connect services for my move in date on 10/12/18. I was rerouted to "Revenue Management" where they informed me that I had to send verification of my identity and my full lease. And only after I do that, they would contact me in three business days. After I asked why, they informed me that the former tenant left a balance on their account. Nevertheless, I submitted the information via email the same day.
The issue is 1) I sent it on a Wednesday (10/10)--this means they wont get back to me until Monday on the following week. This translates to absolutely NO electricity on the weekend.
2)Had I known it would be a "wait time" to get service, I would have adjusted by move in date somehow but still it seems unfair that even without a balance on my former accounts with Peco that I have to wait for service because of someone else I don't have any connection with. 3) I've had PECO services in the past for over 10 years. Then moved out of state, paid my balance and returned to Philadelphia where I am treated as if I am not who I say I am. 4) What happened to the concept of the "customer being first?" Why make it inconvenient for me because the former tenant left a sizable balance on their account. Why does a returning customer have to be scrutinized for wanting new service?
5) After pondering about it even more thoroughly, Peco's thinking is flawed. The idea that a tenant would leave a balance on their Peco account, move out of their unit, then move back in the exact same unit in the apartment building seems rather unlikely.
6) I propose that if they want to alleviate fraud, they can't alienate prospective customers. At least, allow new and former customers with a good standing to obtain electricity during their investigation. Most people DO tell the truth.
At this point, I am disgusted with PECO's customer service. I don't even have an account with them yet and I'm being treated as if they don't want me as a customer. It really speaks to the fact that they believe they have a monopoly in Philadelphia. There are no other options for a good standing person who desires electricity--one of the most basic human needs.
Billing
I never knew how vicious peco was until aug.10th 2018. I wanted to pay my bill early it wasn't due until 13th so i went on company website and entered my credit card info i put the amount of $60 to put towards my bill and submitted only to see it said thank you for your payment in the amount of $856 i almost had a heart attack because i just got paid and it took all my money out my checking account to where i over drew i immediately call my bank to stop payment but they were unable so i explain to peco what happened they said they would issue me a refund once it post so all weekend i have no money i haven't paid my rent or bought my kids stuff for school finally i call monday up until thursday when they finally say we not refunding you the money back that money was owned to the company im panicking because the only reason my bill was even high was because they had a error in the computer im completely devastated and stressed about it but peco could care less as long as they have my money
