Top shelf Professionals! They took my crisis and turned it into a" peaceful easy feeling." Anthony was the Tech. who came out and he quickly found the problem. Anthony was very pleasant The kind of guy who makes friends easy and has a calm demeanor. The kind of person you want for a friend. After fixing the problem , he proceeded to clean coils and inspect the system. I'm happy I chose Penguin Air, Plumbing and electrical because I know I will be treated fair and will have a true professional addressing my problem. Another, point, Penguin Air professionals do not work on commission but are salaried, so you won't get something you don't really need and pay for like some of the other companies. All in all, you can't go wrong choosing Penguin Air, Period. Kudos!

What I am extremely upset about is being charged $440 for a 20 part on Amazon and 20 minutes of labor. This is in addition to the annual contract that I signed up for at $10 a month, so $120 a year. By signing up for the annual contract I was given a 10% discount on the service, so it would have been $550 dollars without my discount. $440 for today's service call "with discount" and $120 for the annual contract, it actually cost me $560. That is out of control especially living in the Phoenix heat when you cannot live with out an A/C. Very dissatisfied with pricing and annual contract gimmick.
Technician *** was awesome! He was professional, helpful and got my AC fixed in a few hours. Penguin confirmed my appointment, notified me before heading over and kept me informed. Seems like a well run business and based on my experience would definitely recommend.

STAY AWAY! NIGHTMARE does not even begin to describe working with this company. They screwed up the installation by putting in an ac unit that was too small and that made more noise then an older unit from 20 years ago. Evidence, my unit runs so much that it constantly leaks from all the condensation. So they rigged it with a pump that I now have to service call them on every few months over the summer because the pump can't keep up then shuts down and the unit leaks all over again. To boost the new unit quit on me about 4 years after it was installed, middle of the summer, and it took them 3 days to come and fix and now the pump has quit again for the second time this summer and they scheduled a service visit at 8am this morning only to be called at 8pm this evening to say they can't make it even though I called at 6pm to confirm that they were still coming. I've only stayed with them because they are "liable" to support the problems they created. Please save yourself the trauma, drama, and poor customer service and take your business somewhere else.
I just had my routine service on my heat pump. I really like the technician JDBelisle. He has come here in the past and I always feel like I get excellent service and an honest assessment of my units condition.
Novice electrician. Unable to fix the problem. Paid $69 for no result. Called a retired electrician next day and for $60 within 16 minutes fixed the problem.

Last night and today we Josh C of Penguin Air came to the rescue when our master bedroom hot water faucet on one of our sinks exploded and all of a sudden we had instant flooding! I tried frantically to turn the faucet valve under the sink off but it was too corroded as we've been hete 25 years and never changed the hardware. Remember, this was really hot water flowing over me! My wife called Penguin Air and I ran outside and turned off the master valve. A disaster was avoided but much damage still occured. About an hour went by and Josh showed up. He changed out the rusted valves under the bathroom sink, went outside and adjusted our pressure, (which was 85#!), turned our water back on after shutting off the one sink, and got us back in our routine, albeit cleaning up a ton of water. He came back today and installed new hardware. The price was very reasonable. Josh is a Vet, so am I and so is Penguin's owner. He still serves. He's polite as heck, a college graduate and knowledgeable and talented at plumbing. Great Kid and Patriot. This is our second major experience with Penguin. Both 5 Star reviews. I wouldn't dare use anyone else!
Although they couldnt give me a time frame (AM or PM) for the service technician to arrive, the office said the technician would call *** min before arrival. Which he did. The only problem was that he called at 3:30pm so I waited the entire day for a late afternoon service call. That aside I was very pleased with the service and consult that I received from ***. He was in and out of the house in 15 min but it would have been quicker if he didnt take the time to check all the outlets affected by the stubborn tripped GFI and answer any questions I had. I would use Penguin Air again for any electrical problems and would highly recommend Penguin Air to any of my friends.Thank you for the service.
Paid for (2) units to be installed and commissioned The units were programmed incorrectly, and would never go into the second stage.We were promised thermostats that would have wireless internet capabilities and penguin air installed cheap thermostats with no internet capabilities. Still not resolved The pancake unit was not installed correctly leaving a 4" x 24" opening into the attic. It was circulating hot attic air into the supply. This was discovered by us when opening the vent cover when the unit failed to blow cold air.The original installers raced from our home after the installation was completed, and never tested the system. They have now been back four additional times and we are still having ongoing issues. We now have water, or something, leaking from the split unit and dripping on the bed below it. Customer service will not provide information to contact supervisors, managers, or resolution to the ongoing issues. Do not use this company! If you are not an expert in AC units and the best installation practices, Penguin Air will promise you one thing and deliver something completely different. Complete and total nightmare dealing with Penguin Air!

Additionally, when needing services for ***, ***, Plumbing, etc... everyone is always feeling that their issue is extremely important and that the company servicing them, should drop everything and arrive immediately ... THIS is not always reasonable. There are Thousands of people needing the same type of emergency or urgency. RELAX People !... What is a person, unfamiliar with air conditioning repairs, to do? The simple answer that *** people would assume to do, would be to consult ***. That is exactly what we did, ...[since our *** quit working 3 days ago... in the *** heat wave ranging between 115 to 120... in many years...]... "What are the best, reliable, and quick to respond companies in the *** area?". About ten come up... Penguin *** was one. We started calling *** ten. The Penguin employees and answer service personnel were the *** polite and helpful in a calm and yet enthusiastic and positive manner. Hence, we stopped calling other companies after we made an appointment. ***., the service Tech who responded to us, was incredibly polite, and gave us informed answers to every question that we had. Having owned many companies in various industries, with a large amount of employees, we are very familiar with *** SERVICE... and the issues that must be considered by company employees in a response. Penguin offers superb *** Service considering the business industry they service. It is our intention to continue to use Penguin for any further issues with our ***. This stuff is suppose to be new and have a 10 year warranty it's messing up already these units cost 18,000 dollars we are seniors and I feel we have been taken advantage of and I feel they don't want to fix the problem

This is noted on the invoice as "time spent speaking to home warranty company." This was not explained when the invoice was presented in fact while the associate was on the phone with the warranty company and asked what the itemized total was he shared there was no itemized total therefore I did not look for one when I signed at the end of the service. I received the invoice emailed to me a day or 2 later and realized what the associate had done. I attempted to call and speak to someone at Penquin Air to get the issue resolved. I made three calls and all 3 times I was advised someone would call me back the next day. I never received a call back. I'm looking for a credit of $***.

He didn't hose it off or check the filters or even come in the house at all. When I question him he explained that he has no idea why the call it a maintenance when it's really just an inspection. That's not what I paid for. The did offer to cancel the contract for a refund of $200 and I told them that was unexceptionable. I didn't pay them $1000 to come out and just look at my units.This company is nothing but crooks.

I had an issue with my new HVAC system admittedly cause by me. I had tried to install a new thermostat on my own and in doing so blown a fuse, so I called Penguin Air on 4/4. Being a Sunday (and Easter) I agreed to the service call charge which was $69. When *** arrived he was great.. he immediately knew what I had done and set out to fix it. It turns out I had blown a 3 AMP fuse because I failed to turn off the breaker before I started the install of the new thermostat. This is where the shock came in, the *** was nearly $300 ! It took *** literally 15 minutes of his time to replace the fuse and the fuse itself can be bought in a pack of 20 on Amazon for $5 with free delivery. I don't mind paying for a professionals time, but this is dishonest as it took them all day to arrive and by the time they were here, I had no other choice but to pay them. Please do the right thing, I haven't left bad reviews or gone to social media yet... I think a refund of $150 would be fair
Summary: Penguin Electrical Air and Plumbing charged $9688.00 me for an invasive and unnecessary project that did not address the problem I hired them to do. Some of the work was done improperly and the original problem persists, and now they are telling me that the source of the problem is entirely different and have written me another expensive $4000.00 estimate to correct the issue. New HVAC system bought 2/22 with Lifetime Heat Warranty, 10 Year Unit Replacement, Parts Warranty, and Labor Warranty, plus a 5 Year Maintenance Agreement from Penguin Air. AC unit failed on 27AUG2021. Contacted Penguin Air on 28AUG2021 for a technician. Was told one would arrive that day, but no one did. Multiple calls made over the weekend and Monday morning. Technician arrived Monday around noon. Requested a manager to discuss the delay, as temperatures exceeded 105 degrees and I missed work hours waiting. Penguin Air claims 24/7 service, which seems questionable. The unit has had issues since the initial installation.

on August 20th, our AC unit stopped working and husband researched and called Penguin Air for a same day service. When the tech arrived he inspected the unit and determined catastrophic issues that were going to cost upwards of 2,000$ estimated for a fix but ultimately recommended a new unit. There were two options that were provided by the tech that would work for our house. First package totaled around 8900$ and another at 12,100$. Specifics of the actual unit couldn't be promised due to "covid manufacturing shortages" and we were told that we would get whatever comparable unit was available to the " high-end, energy efficient option" that was promised. When you're sitting your kitchen, 90+ degrees and 114 outside with no repreve in sight, you find your self scrambling to find a solution. That's where I firmly believe their shady business tactics and salesman/commission based tactics kick in to increase their sales at the great expense of the customer. Being a nurse, I find it despicable that they can price gouge to the extent that so seamlessly did. You hope to be shown all options at all price points, explained in layman's terms, available to what ill suit your household best, and that trust was taken advantage of to a disgusting extent. We regretfully agreed to a unit package costing 12,100 and 10,900 or so after "manufacturers rebates" to be installed on Saturday the 22nd of August. Having a solid suspicion we had been taken advantage of, I began getting comparable quotes based on the very generic invoice we received and was horrified to find out how much extra money we were charged for far less than the promised " high-end energy efficient model." I had to get managers on the phone to ask for a itemized invoice after I was told " it wasn't company policy to provide an itemized breakdown, which in itself seems very suspicious for the easy ability for them to mark up and add in mysterious charges. BUYERS BEWARE / PENGUIN AIR I decided to buy a new *** this year to replace my 22 year old unit I bought a new *** from PENGUIN AIR/*** BRAND in January it was a large investment $5,500 dollars I paid cash I felt secure in my decision I did my homework A+ rating with the *** were highly recommended by 2 people that did not know each other I was sure I made the right decision. Unfortunately I was wrong by mid August my new *** sounded like an old ***s automobile ready to break down made a shocking/high pitch sound that later I found out it was the compressor I called them, on the 3rd of September their Tech said it was a valve in the attic not allowing enough free-on to be released the following day the *** stopped working I called them again their Tech replaced the capacitor on the 11th they replaced the valve the high pitch sound didnt go away & on the 15th they replaced the compressor after it was replaced I noticed the *** running long cycles 30 minutes to keep my home a cool 80 *** was only 104 degrees I was told it was normal.My home felt hot & I lower the *** to 78 degrees it took my brand new *** 3 hours to lower my home's temperature it was only 104 degrees, I called them again their Tech came over to tell me that there was nothing for him to fix that the problem had to do with ventilation I paid them $542 dollars to clean all the vents in my home in cash I told him the problem was in the main circuit board in the attic that something was not connected correctly he refused to take the time to look he said before he left my home at the end of September that he would speak to his Manager ***.I left several messages for their management *** still waiting to hear back from them. I live in fear of using my heater this winter it is GAS their Tech said there is several built in safety guards & based on my experienced with my brand new *** should I take his word? How about a fire? How about not waking up in the morning

We discussed the fact that I would keep the Aprilaire thermostat and they were to install a new return air register and replace filters in the other 2 return air registers. For some reason, they removed the outdoor temperature sensor. They scheduled to return to replace the sensor and the filters. Since March, I have had to contact them more than once to keep them moving. They have come out more than once and still have not replaced the sensor and filters. They were scheduled to come out on May 19 and I waited all afternoon and they did not show up. I called, she apologized and stated they were waiting on a part. I asked for a supervisor to call me. There was no call on the 20th. I called again. Apologies and was assured that someone would call on 5/21. Told customer service rep that my next call was to the ComplaintsBoard.com. No call as of 5 pm on 5/21.

Had an AC issue contacted our homeowners insurance if it's going to take longer than what we could wait contacted penguin air they were able to get out to us the next morning they came out the next morning and I was charged $937 for indoor coil cleanings and to replace a resistor upon replacing the resistor found out that that was not the fix so they had to order another part 3 to 5 days still have not got the part installed amongst all of this I have an epileptic dog that cannot handle the heat so during the whole process ended up having a seizure what you put us more out-of-pocket more stress and a lot more things to deal with I've tried contacting the company since 7/17 I was informed that the manager was out of the office to leave a voicemail and he returned my call call back on Saturday I was informed that he was out of the office for a family emergency if I would like to leave another voicemail I said no they would push over the information for him to return my call call back Monday he was in a meeting once the meeting was over he would call me has yet to return my call instead I got a call back from the repair technician that was complaining that we filed a complaint against him through the company which is none of his business call back yesterday he's out of the office again for a family emergency call back today unfortunately he's out of the office again his family emergency yesterday I was told was he had a tooth pulled my family emergency is 2 children and dog that had a seizure and the fact that I'm out almost $1,000 and I'm on unemployment which that money could have went towards my mortgage and to keep food on my table for my children amongst other things that needs to be taken care of and this company has yet to return my call or contact me in regards of what they can do to help me out. Home warranty people came out and for me that replacing Parts would not fix it they sent me up to have the whole unit replaced I want my money back

First I have their yearly plan that is $240.00 a year.With that said, I had them come out June 15 to replace the mechanics in my toilet tank. The guy wasn't in my house 5 minutes before he was telling me I 'needed' to buy a new toilet at $1300.00. I informed him that was not going to happen. The toilet is just 7 years old. He said he would replace the mechanics in the tank. He went out and bought the brand "Fluidmaster".. and then charged $360.00 dollars for the 'job'. I called 5 times to get ahold of someone to send me an itemized receipt explaining the 360$ cost, and the plumbing manager refused.I have looked up the cost of the fluidmaster kit and it averages $28.00.There is NO reason this job should have costed $360.00. There is something very sketchy about this and I would like to get to the bottom of it and get some/most of my Money back. I will never use or recommend this company to anyone. I will add that in the 6 years I have used Penguin Air, I have spent over 10 grand.

My experience mirrors one from a popular home improvement show about a toilet repair issue. Within five minutes, the plumber suggested I needed a new toilet, claiming they typically last a decade. He offered to fix the tank, but warned it would only delay a full replacement by six months. During the repair, he accidentally sprayed the wall and mentioned needing water restoration services to prevent damage. After contacting the Plumbing Manager multiple times for the toilet's model number, he claimed toilets don't have model numbers. A week has passed with no follow-up. The invoice only lists a 'BEST' toilet for $1,095 without a manufacturer number.

We were told that they would call us in the spring and fall to setup appointments that would work with our schedule.They have not setup one appointment with us. As a matter of fact I have had to call each time. Almost every time I setup an appointment they call to reschedule pushing us further into summer or Winter months. I have complained for the past year that they are not holding up to there end of the contract. It is now September and they are just getting around to doing my summer check, and I was informed that there would be no fall checkup because...well it is fall. They were scheduled to come out today, and again I get a call to reschedule and when I say no they act like I'm the one inconveniencing them.This is not what I consider 5 star service.I don't trust them to do what they say, and no longer wish to deal with them

About a month after the installation I realize that the breaker was not even on for the wireless smoke detectors and when it was put on they began chirping and alarming. I do not feel comfortable with the man that placed them so I asked for a new person to come in. He replaced all the smoke detectors but chirping remained. He called his manager and was at my home multiple times intending to fix. In addition the first man offered to fix my light to the outside because when he replaced the smoke detectors the lights suddenly stopped working and the fans suddenly stopped working. This actually worsened the electrical system and I have not been able to operate the fans or the light sense. In February and March I took multiple days off to be home for him to attempt to resolve the problem. He offered me a full refund at that time. Due to the Covid I have not felt comfortable having anybody in my home and the chirping stopped for about two weeks and then started again and has been nonstop for the past two months. I called Penguin air and plumbing again, now June-and they will not refund my money. I would rather have an entire new company service them because he did everything he possibly could including contact the manager, etc. the employee was very professional and I appreciated his help, but he could not resolve the problem. He diagnosed the problem and was very thorough in resolving the issue to get the unit operational in a very short amount of time. Easy to work with and very fair.
