Service to new client
I live in Jackson michigan. I went to rejoin Planet at their new location on Friday May 19 2023. 1:15 pm afternoon.
I said to the young girl that I had not been there before. She asked for my phone number. She said you are cancelled and read the remarks that I didn’t have time. That was several years ago. She kept looking and reading. I said I know but I want to join. She asked the young man reddish hair and glasses if he would “take this one “ he said he didn’t have time. But he was standing there not talking or helping anyone. I don’t complain but they were both rude! As if I didn’t exist! I left!

Unauthorized credit card charges
I have been charged on a month-to month basis when I no longer live in the Country. Their policy is that they cannot cancel a membership over the phone or by email. I would physically have to go in-person to cancel or send a letter by mail. I have tried to send a letter on multiple occasions, and I get no response from them. I am now going to have to go back to my home country to change my bank account and go in person to cancel since it seems they are not getting my letters or possibly just disregarding them completely. There have been incidents where they stop billing me for one month and then they continue to bill me the month after on a different date around the original date but not consecutively. This is causing me a lot of trouble since I cannot use their services and when contacting them, they just refer to their policy that they can only have me cancel in-person or by mail. I would like to be refunded for the membership since the last non-consecutive charge they charged me for, which was on 4/21/22 (as they never charged me for that month after I sent them a letter via snail mail on 3/21/22). I figured they got my mail and then they didn't charge me in the month of April last year. They then continued to charge me on 5/02/22 a $39 fee which I had never been charged previously. Then they charged me again on 5/17/22 the $21.99 fee they normally charged me monthly. Overall, I am looking for at least a full refund from that date which comes out to $324.00. With that said, I have frozen my bank account and I will be going back to change my bank account and go in-person to cancel my membership. Meaning I will have end up paying even more to cancel my membership when flight costs and travel are included. Since I froze my bank account their policy says they will send me to collections if I miss more than 3 consecutive payments. So I am forced to go back and cancel in-person and get my bank account sorted out. I am not happy with their services, and I have read several accounts where they have been taken to small claims court for this exact reason. I am also an influencer online and if my issue cannot be resolved I will have to let my followers know that this is not a company they should support, or at least make them aware of the issues I am going through so they don't have the same problems in the future with their company. Please let me know if there is anything else I can provide for you to further my claim to get a refund.

Regional manager, not club manager
I have a complaint about the regional manager in Omaha.
I was at the location approximately 147th and Maple Road.
The new regional manager was there to be helping me out with a billing issue.
She was awful
Rude and abrasive and she over charged me.
I need a call back. This woman is just awful. I was told by other patrons or guests, members of the gym - 3 others told me that she has been rude and abrasive to them also.

Membership Cancellation

On May 15, 2023, I received an email from the Planet Fitness OP KS location regarding membership cancellation.
Although I am in agreement that my membership should be cancelled I am not in agreement with the attached noticed being forged as if I signed it; which I did not!
I moved from Kansas in February 2023 and have not been back since and no one from this location has contacted regarding this situation. If someone had contacted me we could have resolved this the right way, this way is illegal and inconsiderate to me as being a customer.

Planet fitness membership activated without consent.

Around September 2018 I went to Planet Fitness in Bedford Centre with the aim to acquire a gym membership, we started the process with the consultant but agreed to pause the process so I can reactivate my Vitality membership in order for the membership monthly premium to be lower, the consultant remained with the documents whilst I started the journey of reactivating my vitality membership, I later learnt my membership was activated through a debit order which I revoked as it didn’t make sense to me. I enquired with the gym only to find out the membership was activated without my consent; I did not receive any communication to let me know the membership was activated as I would have raised it with them immediately! I have never used the gym facilities apart from when I was there to enquire and later to dispute the membership activation. The contract states that their memberships are only activated once the membership fee has been paid, which I didn’t so how was my membership activated? What package was I put on as I didn’t confirm that since were still busy with it? The lady activated the membership to gain commission and I have sent numerous emails, went to the facilities over and over again and I was told Management was not around, emails get ignored, questions are not answered and now I’m told I owe Planet Fitness R11 153,22, for what? They left the membership hanging even after I submitted my dispute, why? This has been going on for about 6 years and I’m at a point where I’ve actually had enough with the harassment and the lady who committed fraud knows very well what she did and she herself cannot give me answers instead she plays hide and seek. I refuse to pay for something I didn’t agree on, utilize nor was informed of its existence, they even spelt my surname incorrectly because the documents were outstanding, I trusted that woman and she went and illegally activated that membership.
Desired outcome: I would like Planet Fitness, to clear my name, remove my details from their system as I've never been their member as this is affecting my credit record.

Card 3860 was stolen, and I reported that it should not be used, and I gave card 8142 in replacement of 3860. However, on February 21, 2023, both cards were charged. The stolen card was charged $10, and it was declined and card 8142 was charged $35.29 simultaneously. Why do you charge a late fee of $15.29? Are you supposed to charge card reported stolen before the billing date again? Why was the card reported stolen was not discarded by your organization? Bank of America declined the purchase as a fraudulent and declined it.
I found out card 3860 was charged, I went to demand why card that I reported stolen was still in your possession and charged. I met with a disgruntled employee who wanted to fight me instead of resolving my complaint.
I am demanding that a refund of $15.29 should be made back to my account 8142.
I am also using this to let you know that card 8142 is also missing. Bank of America has put a stop payment on the card. If you charge this account, it might be declined. Please do not charge card 8142 that was in your possession for the April 17, 2023, bill.

New Hours
I was informed today that they will no longer be open overnight starting April 27. But not told the new hours. I been a member since day one they open in Dekalb, IL. I need to know the new hours as soon as possible. I need to make plans on switching gyms or figuring out daycare. This gym already has cost me money by not opening when they were supposed to be. I paid daycare and left to find no one showed up for work. I complain but they don't care. It is very rude. You can't treat paying members with such disrespect towards their time and money. We have a right to know in advance on new hours. My contract states year to year. Not paying it if they change hours and I cannot go any longer.
Desired outcome: Figure out gym hours so I can determine if I need to switch and cancel membership.

4/12/23 about 6 pm. Gym was pretty full of people there working out. Understandable. Was very HOT in gym. Was informed that the AC control was set my corporate and couldn't be changed. If a lot of hot sweaty people are in one area then corporate should understand that the AC should me turned to appropriate temperature. 68-72 is not an appropriate temperature for that many people! There was a man face timing another man in the work out area. He was caring on a conversation with the man on the phone. Was a vocally load conversation between the two. I spoke to two girls at the front desk about it, and they said they would look on the cameras. OK? What is that going to resolve? I waited for a staff member to go and speak to the man, which NEVER happened. I spoke to the man and asked him to take his conversation somewhere else, that is a rule. There are only two large balls to use, and both have been low on air since I started back at the gym in March. Those only two lowed air balls have yet to have air inputted in them. Geeze, I just don't get how there is staff there but only limited to do certain things. Where is the care to have supplies useable and functionable? Where is the care for someone to enforce the rules that have been lined out by this company? Why have them if no one will do anything.
Desired outcome: For the AC to be at an appropriate level for when there is so many people in the gym. For Staff to enforce the rules. For air to be inputted in the only two balls there for appropriate use of them.
Security of patrons and employees
Seems the Staff (Morning) is "ok" with the local Homeless coming into the club (no membership) just walking past front desk and going to bathroom area and do their business, to include shower and sleep. I could understand if it was bitter cold and or snowing or some other "humane" reason, but allowing the local homeless to come in and not just smell up the place but to visually see lice on their clothing is beyond expectable. Early morning people such as myself do not need the uncomfortable feeling as well as dealing with possible transfer of infestation. I said something to the counter man (who was not at counter at the time of entry from the homeless guy -no one at counter) when a fully masked subject, with hoodie (only eyes could be seen) two back packs and heavy coat just walked in and past the counter (temperature was brisk out not COLD) anyway about 2 minutes later while I waited, I told the counter person about the subject who had just entered and passed the front desk. When I seen the counter guy again about 10 minutes later, I inquired about hooded homeless subject and all he said was "I know the guy" ? what the hell does that mean? Is it standard policy to allow homeless people or any vagrants to use a "private" gym? Aberdeen Md. about 6:30 AM 4/11/23.
Side note, Counter guy is really Nice but I 100% disagree with these actions.
As a police officer for 27 years in that town of Aberdeen, I know how fast someone down on their luck can snap, and for him to walk in with no, NO, NO visible way of identifying him because of the way he was bundled up and covered up, along with two backpack with God know what in them.
It's a different world out here now and one of the places we should be "safe" feel safe is a private Gym with a staff that ID's the people coming in. (in case, in case something bad happens).
I understand not all homeless are "Bad" people. But I do know the desperation, given an opportunity to obtain something of "value" / steal for whatever reason, drugs alcohol or just money for a place to stay, I do not want to be Victimized because Staff does not enforce Membership entry.
Again I will say, I do feel the pain of the plight of the homeless, and 100% know that not all of them are bad and yes the majority are beautiful and honest people, but desperation can change anyone.
Desired outcome: Re-training of employees to uphold current policies that are already in place and to clean and sanitize bathrooms as well as Tanning bed areas and stand up tanning bed floors.
