customer service
I am extremely disappointed in the customer service your mesquite tx store has. They stand around with frowns on their faces and if you ask for help they then seem annoyed by you. Been buying/selling to platos closet for years and have never seen such horrible customer service. Also have tried to sell clothes at this location and needed help because the link they sent my phone wasn't working and they just shrugged their shoulders at me with a "oh well" look on their face and handed me my stuff back. I would highly recommend training this store on how to talk to customers.
exchange policy and customer service
I bought several pairs of jeans at this location a few days ago. One of the pairs of pants had a tag on it for the cost of four dollars and said it was a T-shirt. When I came to check out I told the clerk that it was tagged incorrectly, and they charged me closer $14 rather than $4 on the tag. When I got home, I noticed that one of the pairs of jeans still...
Read full review of Plato's Closet, said they were stained. went to the plato’s closet on phillips highway, jax fl and they took almost everything. I got $100.00
The orange park, fl embarrassed me to no end. I inspect everything I've ever taken. First time to that store because I moved. They had a 2 hour wait and assuming they didn't want to go thru what I brought. They said they wouldn't not take anything. That store should be closed down! Considering I went out to the other on Phillips highway, Jax fl and received $$102.00. Tell me how that is possible. It was disgusting. I will most def never ever go to that nasty store again. Close them down
return
I am a regular customer with Plato's and never had a problem until today. I have worked in retail previously, typically if you have at least the receipt for a return, it's fine. I bought a phone case, expecting it to fit my iPhone 7+ because it looked like it would fit my phone, I got half way home (which is a 30-45 minute drive) and I tried to put it on my phone and it was too big. So I drove back for them to tell me that the tag has to be on it, otherwise all they could do was have me resell it back to them, but I can't even do that because apparently I HAVE to have a license specific to the state of Illinois (I just moved back up here from Florida, so I don't have an Illinois license yet). It's absolutely ridiculous that, even with a receipt I can't return an item that I LITERALLY just bought. Hell even just exchange it even!
bad customer service from manager
I bought an item off the clearance rack. The tag was colored in with the clearance color. The cashier rung me up wrong, I was a bit distracted so I noticed as I was putting my change away, and I was still standing at the counter. I said, "I think you rung me up wrong" as I pulled the item back out of the bag and showed her. She said sorry, she was scatter brained, and she would give me a store credit. I said no, I paid you in cash and you rung me up incorrectly, I want my money back. She still refused, said it was store policy no cash back. I said again, "you rung me up incorrectly, and you are telling me you won't give me my money back? I want to speak to a manager". She said she was the manager. She then said, "I'll make an exception this time". An exception to what? Terrible experience. I still don't even think she gave me the correct amount back. You need to find new managers, absolutely terrible customer service. You can't even ring up an item the correct price and then you are going to try to refuse me my money back? I won't be shopping this location again.
professional demeanor
I left a review about a plus sized employee being dressed in a see through yellow spandex dress with leopard print t back under wear. I go back in to shop and six days later a different employee was somewhat confrontational as I walked out and yelled thanks for the review and I go back in yhe store and she was boasting as if she had beaten me in a boxing...

I've been to this location several times, and have always accepted my clothes. The more middle-aged manager even told me that I should apply since I went there so often. I was trying to become invlolved romantically involved with someone who worked there and we had a slight falling out unfortunately. Now not only will my items no longer be accepted, but the...

I go to Plato's Closet in Merrillville, IN. I signed up for their text messages & rewards points. They're constantly blowing my phone up with messages. I get a message that says, " Buy one Get one 50% off your next visit expires 6/26" SO, I rush to the store for this. I gather all my merchindise. Then at checkout they tell me it only applies to one item. Wtf is that! That is NOT what the text said. I also got a text that said, " 90% off Clearance" Does that only apply to one item? Then I got another text that said, "Double Points off on your next visit expires 6/27" Does that only apply to one item?
That is misleading and FALSE ADVERSTISING! I spoke to the President/CEO of the Merrilliville store, Zack Cain for over 30 minutes via phone while I was in the store and he refused to stand behind the wording of the text messages they are sending out. It does NOT say on one item only. That is bait & switch tactics.
Customer service
I walked in trying to sell my clothing and I am active duty female serving in our country's air force and they were rude to me from the moment I walked in the door they refused to except my military id and allow me to sell clothing repeatedly asked if I had a license on me when I did not then try to accuse me of lying and tried to point at my wallet asking what is that it was my sons child id the harrisonburg plato's closet is by far the worst with the worst customer service and the most horrible people i've ever met. damaged floor
We visited platos closet in Auburn Alabama on 6/8/19. The floor in front of the cashier stand was very damaged. My 21 year old daughter fell over a piece of stripping that was loose. 2 cashiers saw her fall and did not ask if she was ok. I told the cashier they needed to do something to the floor. She said they was aware of the damage. No signs or anything were posted. I took photos of all of the damage. My daughter hurt her knees and back!
selling clothes
The Plato's Closet located on 7161 W Broward Blvd Fort Lauderdale, FL 33324 has had a continuous problem. I have went to this location on numerous times to sell clothes since it is the closest to me. Each time I attempt to sell clothes I am turned away. I have arrived at 1pm, 2pm & etc and they are unable to accept my clothes because it will be a long wait time. I am told to come before 12 or when they first open which is inconvenient for myself. I believe a new plan should be set in place to make this process easier for customers & employees. It is no reason why customers should be turned away.
customer service
Plato's Closet located at 70 Orland Square Drive Orland Park, IL 60462 has some of the rudest staff in America. You can't you the restroom. If you ask them they will say " The restroom is out of order". How do you shop somewhere where you can't use the restroom. There was a very disrespectful and rude woman who is light skinned African American woman with long braids, mulatto, age range from 18-30 yrs old. She continued to be loud, rude, and confrontational with me. I WILL NEVER SHOP AT THIS PLATO'S CLOSET OR ANY OTHER ONE !
service of two workers
Two days in a row I came into the morrow store (5/31-6/1) and was treated very rude both days. The first day she said to wash clothes then store would take them. The second day I came in and immediately the girl from the first day started whispering to the second girl not to take the stuff. Do the second girl started going through the stuff which is all nice name brand and in style. She immediately called my name and said she wouldn't take it or Eve. Look due to a bra in the bag. I didn't know that wasn't allowed and expressed this. She then threw my things into bag on the counter and rudely walked away. She wouldn't even allow me to take bra out. She already to the first girl shed say no. While in the store I saw black pants so old, worn, and faded yet my almost new stuff wasn't good enough. As I walked out the two started talking about me laughing. This is very poor customer service and I would be ashamed to have either represent my business.
unjust practice
When I discovered Plato's Closet in my home town I was so excited!
I've shopped there for a long time. I gathered items I thought your company would purchase for resale. The first time I received the offer of $75 which I excepted. Every time since then I've received less and less which saddened me because I supported your company. Today marks the day I will never purchase or support your chain again. I took in a brand new unused and unworn pair of beautiful black boots. I received the offer of 7.61 for them. I would rather give them away than leave them with your company.
I thought you were different only to see the awful truth of your obvious complete disregard of your customers and those selling to you. As I said I will never shop in your chain again nor allow you to screw me over. Not that it will matter to you.
Trust me when I tell you I will make sure everyone I know is informed of your unethical practice
rude/vulgar employee
After going into the Arbor Walk location at 8:45 today, May 21, to ask about selling an item, the employee who said her name was Emily replied with "Um, no, we close in four f**king minutes." There was another customer in the store, who she proceeded to check out, then when I pointed that out she replied with "Well, I'm the only one on the floor, so you're gonna have to wait." After checking out the other customer she told me they were closed and to leave. She also gave me a different phone number when I asked for the manager's business card. She was extremely rude every time I asked her anything, and I have left very disappointed to have wasted time on the trip here.
refused to buy my name brand clothing.
The platos closet here in liberty Missouri is ran by a bunch of brain dead teenagers who don't know what is in style or not, I was told by them on the phone that they would buy my under armour and aeropostale hoodies but when I got to the store they said they were to out of style to buy without even looking at them, I am very unhappy with how this store is ran and who it is being ran by, teenagers are not the best employees for this kind of store because they don't know what they are doing, I will not be returning to any platos closet due to this visit.
racial prejudice
The store in diberville Mississippi has showed racial signs from my first appearance there the cashier was buying my items and the white girl came over and said aww something is wrong with this it was new from anthropology second time the owner picked my shoes up off the floor and bring them to me because a white guy was standing by them I'm aware if there policy but I know discrimination when I see it dont shop there
customer service/ selling clothes
Let me start with at this specific location this same blonde girl at about 8:30 pm the 3rd time in a row has not take any of my clothes. Now I've sold enough to know what they take and what they don't... not bringing in junk even had a Gucci and bulova watchin my bag. I also had brand new opi nail polish, pink sweatshirts, Hollister, rock and republic in this last bag and was told the same blah blah blah speech... "we are being really picky right now". Seriously give me a break! My time has been wasted for the 3rd time in a row and I am extremely ticked off! ... I believe that I am being discriminated against.. these girls are just ridiculous.. WHAT IS MANAGEMENT doing about it? Not a thing because they are probably 16 years old like the rest of the staff. Not only this but as I was standing in line another girl just standing there talking decides to open a register and skip me for people she knew. For a store just recently opening I might suggest better help and better management!
selling my clothes
I took a whole full bag of clothes they were clean just because they were in a bag and not a bin doesn't mean there dirty or old!out of the whole bag she only took two iteams and the reason why she didn't the other iteams was because they had stains and rips and were out of style and that a total lie my clothes don't have stains or rips or out of style they...

I am never one to complain however every time I go into this location. (Actually just left 4/10/19 @ 10am). The same young lady who is working the floor does not greet Blacks or any other minority when entering the store. I have experience this on a few occasions at this location when she is working. The other young ladies who work there of color speak and...
