Pool Doctor of Brevard We had a really good experience with the Pool Doctor

We had a really good experience with the Pool Doctor. We got three quotes for redoing our condo pool and we picked them to do the job. They came on time on the day they were supposed to and finished the project a day earlier than we thought. The tiles and the new surface look great, and they even put in a new pool light. We're really happy with how professional everyone was and how well the work was done.

Pool Doctor of Brevard I'm still waitin' for the warranty fix on my pool deck

I'm still waitin' for the warranty fix on my pool deck. Diana kept sayin' them cracks on the surface were normal. Nah, they ain't! I done left a bunch of messages with this company. Diana got back to me on Nov 4, 2020 and said someone would fix my deck in 'bout 2 weeks, dependin' on the weather. Now, there's more than four spots where the concrete surface done broke. My insurance company told me in February that my pool deck is a dang trip hazard and needs fixin'! It's now March and I ain't heard nothin' from the company.

Pool Doctor of Brevard I hired Doug from Pool Doctor 6 months ago

I hired Doug from Pool Doctor 6 months ago. After giving a down payment and the first scheduled payment, they left my property 2 months ago. There are pavers and debris scattered all over my backyard and driveway. My yard is unusable and weeds are growing between the pavers. Doug and Diane don't respond to my emails, phone calls, or texts. Sometimes, when they do respond, they make up dates for when they will "come to work." It's really disrespectful and I can't fully enjoy my home after signing a contract with them and starting work with Pool Doctor. Now, I have to take legal action and find someone else to finish my pool. Many customers seem to have the same complaint, and it's hard to believe that they've been in business for so long. I suggest staying away from Pool Doctor of Brevard if you need pool construction in this area.

Pool Doctor of Brevard I'm really sorry I didn't read these reviews before I hired this company

I'm really sorry I didn't read these reviews before I hired this company. I don't know how they stay in business. The worst customer service I've ever seen. We signed a contract on September 11, and our pool was finally finished on April 1. Boy, they were right there when it was time to get paid. Doug stood in our kitchen and told us our job would be complete in 6 weeks start to finish. We had to constantly call to see where they were. We went with them because they don't subcontract their work out. I can't say they did bad work, their employees were very courteous and did great work when they showed up. I finally had to send a certified letter with a return signature just to get them to acknowledge us. It was very aggravating and caused me a great deal of anxiety. If you do decide to use this company, be very careful because the quoted price they gave us was not the final price. It cost almost $4K more than what they quoted. The worst customer service I've ever experienced. Would not recommend to anyone.

Pool Doctor of Brevard I'm really disappointed with this company

I'm really disappointed with this company. They came out right away to get our business. They never let you know when they were coming to do the work. Throughout the whole process, they never returned phone calls or text messages unless a payment was due. The only quick response was collecting their money. They finished the pool a month ago and still haven't installed a new skimmer basket or replaced the missing cover. They put in a new light. It worked for 10 seconds. After countless text messages, they sent someone to check the light. The worker told me that if it didn't work again, I would need an electrician. Needless to say, the next time I turned on the light, it worked for 1 minute. Honestly, I felt that when they installed the light, they should have had an electrician come out. Overall, the pool looks nice except for some missing parts. I would suggest anyone considering this company to do their research and read their reviews. If I had read the reviews first, I would have chosen a different company.

Pool Doctor of Brevard I wouldn't recommend this company if you care about the work being done on time or if you want any level of communication

I wouldn't recommend this company if you care about the work being done on time or if you want any level of communication. Based on the reviews, I expect the work to eventually be done nicely, but I have no idea when. I signed my contract in April 2022 and was told it would take 6-8 weeks. I understand it's hard to give an exact timeframe for a construction job, especially with variables like hurricanes. But what I don't understand is the lack of communication. Over the past 7 months, they would give us a timeframe for when the work would start, but then they wouldn't show up. It takes 1-2 weeks to get a response when you call or email. When I finally got them on the phone recently, I told them I understood the variables and just wanted some communication so we know what to expect. Now we're 2 weeks past the last quoted timeframe and they're not responding to voicemails or emails, as usual. My backyard is mostly drained but still green and filled with hundreds of tadpoles, and I have no idea when they'll be coming back. This lack of response has been consistent for 7 months. They keep setting expectations and not meeting them, and all I've asked for is some communication, but I can't get it.

Pool Doctor of Brevard Buyer beware

Buyer beware. Our review is to hopefully save one customer from the frustration and aggravation we had with this company. Oh they will still get plenty of jobs (we were told by one worker they had about 50 jobs going), not something Doug tells you in the beginning, only that he has 22 employees. As with other reviews, we practically begged constantly for SOME KIND of time frame so we could work our schedule. No such courtesy. Many times after several calls, we would get a text to be there such and such day... and OF COURSE... they wouldn't show and the same frustrating unanswered calls would start all over again. Amazing to me that these people think they are doing you, the paying customer, a favor and how dare you to expect common courtesy and customer service. To add insult to injury, on the last day, the team was falling all over themselves to accommodate us and I told my husband they would be expecting the final payment. We had already discussed waiting two weeks for the pool to cure and make sure no leaks before administering the final payment. Also for the contract to be fulfilled by installing the saltwater system (which was not done on the last day). We knew we would play heck getting them back out once the final payment was made. As expected, payment was asked for and my husband said two weeks. Doug was promptly called and began berating my husband. After trying to speak reason with a yelling Doug, my husband, who does not like conflict, passed the phone to me. Doug then began berating me. He yelled at me, threatened me with small claims court, a lien on our house. I told him we were only talking two weeks and he would get payment in full. What's the matter, don't you have the money? Yes...we got the full-blown REAL Doug. He was rude, combative, insulting, threatening, intimidating. He INSISTED payment was to be then. I said no and yelling AND name-calling continued. I (a paying customer) was called a ***. I maintained a calm demeanor throughout the conversation and NEVER raised my voice. Husband had finally had enough and got on the phone with Doug and agreed to give the final check and asked Doug for his word to come back out and install the saltwater system which was in the contract. He said yes, call in a month and set something up. My husband called and after several more calls, they left a message to be there such and such day. Didn't show. My husband, very kindly, left more messages reminding him he paid, taking Doug's word to finish the job. That was three weeks ago and we haven't heard a word. Now Doug will tell you he gave us that salt system but I will remind him when he initially came out he overestimated the square footage by quite a lot. My husband had already measured and knew it was way off and called him on it. He came down on price and husband said he thought it was still wrong and he said he would throw in the salt system. So in reality, he didn't GIVE us anything. That was his way of compensating for his incorrect measurements. It IS in the contract to install the saltwater system, which has not been done. But we are DEFINITELY done with this company. Take careful consideration before opening yourself up to the awful experience so many of us have had.

Pool Doctor of Brevard Pool Doctor pulled the plug on my pool on June 17th

Pool Doctor pulled the plug on my pool on June 17th. I've only seen the tile guy, no one else. Communication has been limited to occasional text messages. Interestingly, I recently discovered that my neighbor, who lives on the same street, had their pool drained after mine and it's already completed. I've been promised multiple times that they would come, but they never do. My backyard now has a cesspool that smells really bad and is quite disgusting. Sadly, my calls and texts go unanswered.

Pool Doctor of Brevard I hired Pool Doctor about a year and a half ago to redo my pool

I hired Pool Doctor about a year and a half ago to redo my pool. In July , a hole appeared on the pool's surface, probably due to an air bubble. I tried reaching out to Pool Doctor multiple times, but they didn't respond. Eventually, I resorted to texting them, and finally, they replied. In early September, they came to inspect the pool and assured me they would fix it. They've mentioned several times that they would come the following week, but they never show up. It's been more than six months now, and nothing has been done. They never answer the phone and rarely reply to texts. I've been really patient, but I just want them to fulfill their promise and repair my pool.

Pool Doctor of Brevard We hired Pool Doctor of Brevard, Inc

We hired Pool Doctor of Brevard, Inc. to fix up our pool at *** So *** on 3/23. They haven't shown up to many appointments and left the project unfinished. We have pictures to prove it. We're really mad and frustrated with them. Here's what still needs to be done: complete the tile work on the steps and swimout, put on a new exposed aggregate finish, cover the exposed pool plumbing with concrete, finish all the plumbing and install the electrical stuff, put in a new salt system and pool heater, connect it to the pool pump, and start and balance the pool. We need help, please.

Pool Doctor of Brevard In 2022, I signed a contract with Pool Doctor of Brevard, Inc

In 2022, I signed a contract with Pool Doctor of Brevard, Inc. to resurface my pool and expand the pool deck. On June 15th, they drained the pool completely. Then, on June 20th, a bunch of patio blocks were delivered to my front yard. Since then, they've been working for four days, but it seems like all they've done is create piles of gravel everywhere. It's a mess! The pool is only half full, and it's filled with gross green slime, drink cups, broken cement bags, tadpoles, and other disgusting creatures. It's been impossible to use my backyard all summer. To make matters worse, the HOA keeps complaining about the pallets of blocks still sitting in my front yard. It's a real eyesore. I need to swim every day for medical reasons, and we're even planning a backyard wedding for November. I told the company about all of this back in June, but it seems like they haven't done much about it. I don't get why they're only working for about four hours a day, four days a week. It's not very professional if you ask me.

Pool Doctor of Brevard We hired Pool Doctor of Brevard, Inc

We hired Pool Doctor of Brevard, Inc. to put concrete under our pool for support. We hired them in early April and paid them half of the payment upfront, which was $2375. They came out a couple of weeks later and drilled 11 holes into our concrete deck down to the dirt. Then they left without completing the job. We tried to contact them a couple of weeks later, and they said they would try to come out the following Thursday or Friday, but they never showed up. After that, my wife and I left multiple voice messages, but we never received a call back. My wife also texted the woman who is part owner, and the last response we got was that they wouldn't be able to come out due to the rain. They never informed us about the expected duration of the project. Over the course of three months, until our last contact with them on July 10th, we became worried about the rain and the holes in our pool patio deck, as it could potentially destabilize it. So, we decided to hire another company. The new company came out within a week, drilled holes, and injected foam underneath to stabilize the deck. They also filled the holes that Pool Doctor had drilled, and it cost us $3300.

Pool Doctor of Brevard I signed a contract on 1/12 to add a spa to our pool and redo the deck

I signed a contract on 1/12 to add a spa to our pool and redo the deck. The project was completed on 12/8, which took a long 11 months. Communication has been and still is a problem. I've sent several emails, texts, and voicemails, but haven't received any responses. Currently, I have two issues. First, the concrete that was replaced is now cracked. I sent an email with pictures, but given their past behavior, I don't expect them to fix it or contact me. Second, I signed a contract on 12/8 for them to resurface my pool at a discounted rate because they couldn't clean the discoloration off the bottom of the pool in many places. This discoloration was caused by the construction process multiple times. They assured me they would clean it up when they were done, but let's not forget it took them 11 months to complete the job. The reduced price was a result of their inability to remove the stains from the pool. Additionally, the contract stated that the resurfacing would start "middle to end of January." I've sent emails, texts, and left voice messages (since they won't answer my calls) requesting them to move the start date to February. They haven't started any work, haven't communicated with me at all, and haven't stated whether they still want to do the work. The final payment was reduced due to a few changes, but no change order was made. I sent an email documenting the items I did and the damage caused by their workers, which I had to replace.

Pool Doctor of Brevard On April 25, 2022, I signed a contract with Pool Doctor of Brevard to remodel my pool

On April 25, 2022, I signed a contract with Pool Doctor of Brevard to remodel my pool. They were supposed to lay travertine tile on the pool deck, resurface the inside of the pool, and replace the old tile. The cost for all this was $24,200. When I signed the contract, I had to give them a third of the money as a down payment. So, I wrote them a check for $8,766 on April 25, 2022. After that, I didn't hear anything from them for 90 days. So, I decided to call them and ask for an update. Diane and Doug, the owners of the business, said they would start working on it the following week. But it wasn't until July 20, 2022, almost three months later, that they actually started working on my pool. It's now October 11, 2022, and the travertine tile is only partially finished, and the pool hasn't been resurfaced yet. It's been almost six months, and they still have a lot of work to do. According to the contract, they were supposed to finish the job within 90 days after getting the permit. I've been trying to get updates from them by emailing, calling, and texting them every week for the past two months. But they rarely get back to me with any information about the progress. Doug, the owner, has never even come to my house to check on the work or give me updates. Their employees only show up for a day or two, and then they disappear for weeks. And to make matters worse, they never clean up after themselves, so my backyard is a complete mess.

Pool Doctor of Brevard On June 7, I met with the Pool Doctor folks and we agreed on what needed to be done for our pool and backyard

On June 7, I met with the Pool Doctor folks and we agreed on what needed to be done for our pool and backyard. We signed a contract with Pool Doctor of Brevard and gave them an initial deposit of $9376.00. They said they would start the work within 8 weeks. But, it wasn't until November that they actually began. They drained the pool and tore up the pool surface. Then, on November 9, we paid them another $6,500 for a new pool heater. And on November 19, we made a second payment of $9376.00 as per the contract. After that, the Pool Doctor disappeared and didn't come back until May 2022. For more than 6 months, our pool was left in a dangerous state, even though I asked them many times when they would finish the job. I have text messages and photos to prove it. When they finally returned in May to resurface the pool, we also talked about adding a pool control system. So, on May 13, 2022, we paid them an extra $10,000 to cover the cost of the additional equipment and the work they had done so far. We paid for all the materials too, totaling over $35,000. But now, it's September 2022, and the work agreed upon in the contract is still unfinished, and the work that was done is of poor quality. Some equipment is still not installed, and other tasks are incomplete. We even had to hire others to finish some of the work. The Pool Doctor hasn't fulfilled their end of the agreement, even though we paid for everything. After waiting for over a year, we want to cut ties with the Pool Doctor, but they're insisting that we pay them an additional $8600 for work that hasn't been done.

Pool Doctor of Brevard We hired Pool Doctor of Brevard, Inc

We hired Pool Doctor of Brevard, Inc. to do our pool, driveway, flower beds, and sitting area back in November . It's been 8 months now, and they haven't finished anything. We've been trying to reach them through phone calls and texts, but no one answers. Our pool area is a mess, with muck and filth at the bottom, attracting mosquitoes. There's also garbage scattered around our porch, creating a breeding ground for more pests. To make matters worse, they left random bricks lying around our pool, creating a tripping hazard. The pavers are missing and uneven, making it difficult to walk around the pool. They delivered the pavers in March, but they've been sitting on our sidewalks ever since. Our neighbors are upset because they can't use the sidewalks, and it's becoming a liability issue. If someone gets hurt, we'll have even more problems. Finally, when someone from the company answered our call, they promised to come and work on our project every day this week. But, as expected, they didn't show up as promised. They only came one day and never returned. They claimed they needed to let the concrete set, but they failed to realize that we still have a lot of work left. The pavers need to be leveled and installed, missing pieces need to be cut and installed around the pool, the skimmer needs to be finished, the shallow end of the pool needs to be resurfaced, the drain next to the porch needs to be leveled and have concrete poured, and they need to pick up the garbage that's been sitting by our porch for weeks. There are also pavers by the grill that they could have taken care of. This company is unreliable, and we're extremely frustrated with how they're dragging us along without completing the work they promised.

Pool Doctor of Brevard They made us pay half upfront and they haven't finished the work even after 90 days

They made us pay half upfront and they haven't finished the work even after 90 days. They don't respond when we try to contact them. My fiance had a 30-day contract for around $10,000 to $11,000 worth of work. They started tearing apart the pool but then disappeared for two months. When I called to ask them to come back, they accused me of arguing and threatened to involve their lawyer. Finally, after I sent pictures, they called my fiance back and agreed to send someone back out. They said it would be done in a couple of weeks. Another month went by. They sent people out twice, but they only did a little work. They drilled holes in the bottom to drain the water they let build up by not showing up. They left a pump behind. The owner called a supervisor to turn off the pump, but it caused water to flow back into the pool and into one of the holes, causing potential damage. My fiance tried calling, but the owner refused to answer. It's been 90 days since the contract started, and they haven't come close to finishing the work. According to one of the workers, the owner doesn't let them finish one job before starting another, and they can only return to a job if the customer complains. The owner himself admitted that they didn't send workers for two months because they had a bigger, more profitable job to focus on, even though our contract stated they had 30 days to complete our pool. It's only a quarter complete after three months. The owner is registered with the ComplaintsBoard.com, but his business should be stripped. This is not how business should be done, especially when they already received half of the payment upfront.

Pool Doctor of Brevard Pool Doctor of Brevard County ain't finishing the job like we agreed

Pool Doctor of Brevard County ain't finishing the job like we agreed. They left my pool in a bad state for months. We signed a contract on March 6, to fix a crack and resurface the pool. The contract said they would finish the work within 30 days of getting the permit. The permit got approved on May 7, so they should have been done by June 6. But it's been two months and the work still ain't complete. My pool is messed up and dangerous.

They were supposed to start on May 15, but they didn't show up. Same thing happened on May 18 and May 19. They finally drained the pool, but then they disappeared for the rest of the week. They didn't even bother returning my calls. By May 27, I still hadn't heard anything from them, so I contacted the City of Cocoa Beach 'cause I thought I got scammed. The city told them to respond. Finally, around June 1, they did some repairs to fix the crack. But they left two big holes in the pool deck where the skimmers were, and the concrete was all chipped up. It looks terrible and it's dangerous.

From June 2 to June 10, I called them multiple times to finish the job, but they never answered. The water in the pool turned into a breeding ground for algae and insects 'cause it was just sitting there for three weeks. Finally, they agreed to come on June 11. But surprise, surprise, they didn't show up. On June 12, the owner, Doug H, came to inspect the repair. He only partially fixed the crack, leaving several feet of it still unrepaired. He took a sample and fixed the rest of the crack. But then the crack spread towards the water that was still in the pool. Doug said they would inspect the rest of the pool once the water was pumped out. He made a schedule: finish the skimmer concrete work on Monday, pump out the water and prep the pool on Tuesday, and resurface and refill the pool by Friday (June 19).

But guess what? They didn't show up on June 15 or June 16. I called and texted them, but they didn't respond. By June 19, we had four sunny days and still no work. So I asked to meet with Doug to talk about finishing the job. He gave me more excuses like being overbooked and bad weather. But COVID-19 wasn't an excuse. And saying they're overbooked is a lame excuse for leaving my pool messed up for so long. The contract says they can extend the completion date if it rains, but only for the same number of days it rained. According to Weather Underground, it rained in Cocoa Beach for 13 days between May 7 and July 3. But most of the time, it was just a passing shower that wouldn't affect the work. So, let's be generous and say the completion date should've been June 19. Doug said there was only 1 1/2 days of work left. He promised to start on Monday, June 22, and finish by the end of the week.

But surprise, surprise again, they didn't show up on June 22. They finally showed up on June 23, drained the swamp at the bottom of the pool, pressure washed it, installed a pump, and pumped the water into a trash can on the grass. They painted the pool gray to prepare for resurfacing. But they didn't even bother inspecting for more cracks once the water was drained. I asked Doug to check an apparent crack, but he didn't respond. And on June 25, still no response. So I asked the City Inspector to come and inspect. I even contacted civil engineering firms 'cause if Pool Doctor won't inspect their own work, I'll get someone else to do it.

Finally, on June 26, Doug met with me and did the inspection. He said there was no crack. Okay, great. But he was mad that I called others to inspect his work when he wouldn't do it himself. He was also mad that I called him when he didn't show up. He said he's busy and doesn't appreciate me bothering him. He even said that asking when he'll show up won't make him show up faster. Can you believe that?

On June 27, I spent hours cleaning up the mess they left behind and removing five bags of broken concrete and rubbish. On June 29, Pool Doctor sent me a text saying they would try to finish the pool by the end of the week. But on June 30, the City Inspector came and said the inspection failed 'cause the job still wasn't complete. He can only pass a complete job. He said he'll recommend that the City management look into Pool Doctor's business practices. And here we are on July 3, it's Friday, and still no work despite their text on Monday. I texted them to see if they were coming, but no response. Meanwhile, the water is still overflowing into my yard since June 23. I wonder how much this continuous pumping will cost me on my electric bill. The grass in that area is dying now.

It's July 7, and still no Pool Doctor.
