My husband was tracking his shipment with purolator and as he needed the item for work the following day, I remained at home all day with updates from him regarding the package arrival. The estimated time for the package delivery continues to state 3:59pm through the morning but I remained home as this was an estimate. At 5:35pm, my husband walks in with an “attempted delivery” notice indicating that a purolator driver had attempted a delivery. Our apartment building had 4 notices total of “attempted deliveries” that day.
At the purolator pickup location, I inquired about what exactly a driver does for an “attempted delivery”. The employee stated that of no buzzer number is visibly on the shipping address, the driver will only leave a notice. However, when I look at the package there is a purolator label indicating that the driver checked off the box for door knocked and stated “not home” as a comment. This would not be true as we live in a condo requiring buzzer to call each unit to enter to knock on a door, I did not hear get a buzzer call or knock, and I was home the entirety of the day.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time “attempted deliveries” have been made to our unit and our building. For the first few missed deliveries, we assumed that perhaps we had just missed the buzzer call or some other reason to give the benefit of the doubt. We have attempted to call and email purolator to receive more information and provide feedback. Emails have gone unreturned and phone calls unanswered. We have yet to speak with anyone at purolator.
The route number is 4N2 (indicated on the notice. We are at a loss as to what to do except to refuse to use purolator in the future when given the option.
