Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to formally raise a concern regarding the dental treatment received by my domestic helper, Lugay Rina Caminos, at your clinic on 7th April, 2024 at 3:30pm.
According to my helper’s account, a dental procedure involving the repair of fillings (2 tooth) was carried out without the use of local anesthesia. As a result, she experienced considerable pain and distress throughout the procedure. She expressed that she felt compelled to endure the entire session despite the discomfort, which understandably caused both physical and emotional stress.
As a caregiver and employer, I am deeply concerned by this situation. Pain management is a fundamental part of patient care, especially during dental treatments known to cause significant discomfort. I would like to understand the clinical reasoning behind the decision not to administer anesthesia, and whether informed consent was appropriately obtained and documented.
We fully acknowledge the complexities of medical judgment and do not wish to cast undue blame. However, we do believe it is important for patients—regardless of their background or social status—to be treated with dignity, respect, and appropriate care.
We hope to receive a response that clarifies the matter and outlines how such situations are generally handled at your clinic, including any safeguards in place to ensure patient comfort and informed consent.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. We look forward to your prompt and professional response.
Sincerely,
