Record Rent a Car in Spain is by far the worst car rental company I have ever encountered. They falsely accused us of causing a scratch on the car, which was already there when we picked it up at the ungodly hour of 12 midnight. We had to endure a mind-numbing wait of over 3 hours in the terminal just to get our hands on the keys.
To add insult to injury, as soon as we returned the car, a rather aggressive lady employee immediately rushed to the front of the vehicle and started snapping pictures of the alleged scratch. It was astonishing to witness her complete lack of interest in inspecting the rest of the car. It was as if she had a predetermined agenda to pin the blame on us. Even my children, who were with us, were taken aback by the unprofessional behavior and attitude displayed by the staff.
I cannot stress enough how this experience felt like a blatant act of robbery committed in broad daylight. I implore all of you, with every fiber of my being, to steer clear of Record Rent a Car. Even if it happens to be the last car rental option available in Spain, I beg you, do not subject yourself to the agony and frustration that we endured. Trust me, you will only have yourself to blame if you choose to rent from this deceitful establishment. They are not even worthy of a single star rating, but rather deserve a negative rating of zero stars.

Thankfully, we stumbled upon EuropeCar, which was conveniently located just across the hall. They actually had a car that could accommodate all five of us. What a relief! We were finally able to continue with our plans, thanks to EuropeCar.
But here's the real kicker. Record Rent a Car not only ruined our evening, but they also refuse to compensate us for the extra expenses we incurred or refund the money we paid for the reservation. It's absolutely outrageous! This company deserves to be boycotted for their dishonesty and mistreatment of customers.

So, my wife had booked a car for me to pick up in Marbella, Spain from December 29th to January 5th, 2017 through RENTALCARS.COM. She had already paid for the entire week in advance. However, when I arrived at the airport to collect my prepaid car, I was directed to a clerk who seemed to have no knowledge of my reservation. This clerk started filling out paperwork as if the car hadn't been reserved or paid for. To my surprise, she showed me a tiny note, barely 2 mm high, which mentioned something about age. It stated that if you are over 69 years old, you are not eligible for the standard insurance package and are required to purchase an extended coverage insurance for an additional 140 Euros. On top of that, they added another 24 euros for the booking through a different company, and I had to pay an additional 51 euros in advance for fuel. Unfortunately, I couldn't cancel and get a refund, so I had no choice but to take the car. I wasted nearly half an hour dealing with them. My wife didn't disclose the exact amount she paid, but she hinted that it was significantly more than what I paid the following week with AVIS. And mind you, I didn't have to deal with any extra charges or add-ons.
Now, let me tell you about my experience with AVIS the following week. I went straight to AVIS without making a reservation, and guess what? I was able to rent a bigger, better, and newer car for just 265 euros. The best part? Insurance was included in the price! The whole process took me no more than 10 minutes to complete, and I had the car keys in my hand. It was such a hassle-free experience compared to my previous encounter with RECORDRENTACAR.com.

So, we decided to book a small car, a Seat Ibiza, through Booking.com. We even got full cover, just to be safe. But, as luck would have it, my card got stolen before our trip. And to make matters worse, the bank took forever to issue a new one. It was Christmas time, you know how things can get delayed during the holidays.
When we arrived at the airport, we were ready to pay for the second driver. They had all their cards, so no problem there. But guess what? The lady at the counter refused to give us the car. Can you believe it? I asked if she could change the main driver, but she had the audacity to say that it would cost us an extra 275 euros for full cover. Talk about rude! And to top it off, she didn't even bother to check with her manager or anything. It was like her only goal was to squeeze every penny out of us.
To add insult to injury, she messed up our address, email, and phone number in the system and on the document. I mean, come on! I double-checked everything before she made the changes, but she never bothered to ask us to confirm the information afterwards. It's like once she got our money, nothing else mattered.
And to make matters worse, they gave us a C3 Aircross instead of the small car we wanted. I mean, why did we bother choosing a specific vehicle category if they were just going to give us whatever they felt like? It's frustrating, to say the least.
To be fair, we do travel a lot and rent cars frequently. And in all our previous experiences, whenever there were unexpected problems, the rental companies always tried to help or find a solution. But not Record Go. They simply apologized and said they would forward our complaint to their staff manager. But here's the thing, the lady was just doing her job, following the company rules. And that says a lot about the company itself, doesn't it?
But hey, I guess I should be grateful for the opportunity to help them improve, right? It did cost me a few extra euros, but if it means helping companies do better, maybe it's priceless in the end.
Confusing Car Rental Experience at Majorca Airport: Multiple Companies, Hidden Fees, and Delayed Deposit Return
We flew to Majorca on May 8 and right at the airport ordered the car through the booking.com.
We took the confirmation that the car will be from the company record 90.

On May 10, our plans in Majorca changed and we decided to stay there for one more day and return to Paris not in the morning of May 11, but in the evening.
