poor pickup service / and customer no service system
WE had a trash pickup 3/20/23 , and the no exeperience driver keep
placing our trash contrainer beyond the gate closing entry . this makes
closing the enclosure improssible. he has dont this serveral times
be this time he has excell him self . he not only left the contrainer
improperly in the enclosure. be he pushed the Grease bin from beside

[protected]:11am and 4:46 am -driver drove by the house twice but didn’t pick up dumpster. Should not be driving down a residential area and there are other main roads he can drive on. Driver would actually have to go out of his way to come down our street from truck location. My husband and I have to go to work and one night my 8 yr old was even up. We are at our wits end with this. We now think the driver is doing this on purpose. A little help resolving this issue would be great. My husband is getting ptsd from this! We have videos on ring camera but I can’t get them to upload.
Desired outcome: To stop picking up the dumpsters prior to 7 am and the truck not drive down the street prior to 7 am. Employee that is doing needs to be terminated and the supervisor who is allowing it to happen.
Billing and customer service
My Dad died in Oct 2022 and we needed a dumpster while clearing house/property.
The city could only offer a 6 yard and we were referred to Republic Services. We were told we had to pay for delivery and first dump upfront but would get that back on termination of service. We started with one 30 yard then added another 30 yard to expedite the process. Was told it would be a separate contract since it was not set up together. To call for a dump and return was a nightmare. Hired a cleaning crew for the weekend to find only one dumpster had been dumped. Hired them to come back the next weekend being assured there would be two empty dumpsters once again this was not the case. Talked to 4 different people over a 2.15 cent charge being told it would have to be paid prior to service. Paid over 1000.00 dollars to terminate service again being told that the initial payment would be refunded. Ended with a 365.00 dollar credit on one and a 114.00 charge on the other. Called to ask about this several times. You can expect to get shuffled from Arizona to Minnesota, repeat it all again to get shuffled to someone else with no resolution. I would never willingly do business with this company again and would not recommend. Frustrating to say the least.
Desired outcome: Detailed itemized billing on charges for both dumpsters and a change to having to talk to 3-4 different people to get a question answered.
Trash
I live at Eagle Trace Apts which is located at 5370 E. Craig Rd., The employees of yours at Republic Arnott completing their job. They leave the cans out with your big huge metal cans at hold several yards of trash. They never put them away like they’re supposed to they leave them in the way that people are getting hurt and kids are playing around them and it is causing problems. I wish you to do their job properly.
Desired outcome: Please tell them to do their job here at Eagle Trace Apts.
Complete incompetence
I have been a Republic trash customer for over two years. When I bought my home the trash bins were green WM bins with Republic trash stickers over the WM logos. Apparently the previous owner had set up a deal to use the old WM bins with your company. I transferred the service over to my name, not thinking much of it. Fast forward two years. The bins crack and the lids fall off. So I contact Republic to dispose of the old bins and deliver me new bins. They delivered me new blue bins. After a few weeks of calling and setting dates and the green bins not being collected, I say to the agent. Maybe it's because they look like WM bins? But I have been using them for your service for over two years. No, that's not it, she assures me and a new date is set. About two weeks later I am billed for the removal. I have it on auto pay, so it gets paid. But bins still not removed. Fast forward 6 weeks of this fun game. I am finally told that yes, because they are green WM bins, your company cannot dispose of them. Frustrated and annoyed that it took two months for them to tell me this, I cancel service with republic. They say a check will be in the mail to refund the removal fee. I call WM who delivers my new bins and agrees to dispose of the green bins. I now have 6 trash bins in my driveway. I wait a week or so and still no pick up of the blue bins and no check from republic. I call republic and am told they will pick up their bins in 3 weeks! 3 weeks. I said, that is really not acceptable as I now have 6 trash bins. She said she would put a note for someone to "possibly" pick them up sooner. I don't hold my breath as I've heard this a dozen times from your company. I move the blue bins to the far end of my driveway, thinking to put them out on the collection day I was given. I place the busted green bins at my curb as WM is going to pick them up. I come home today to find my blue bins gone, my busted bins moved to the side and my brand new WM bins taken. I can only conclude republic not only took their blue bins back, but for some reason decided they could now take the green bins as well. But instead of removing the broken green bins, they literally moved them aside and took my brand new WM bins.
I was also suppose to be refunded the fee I paid to have the bins removed, but rather than sending a check, republic sent me a billing statement with a negative balance. I didn't even mention that I was charged for 2 month of an extra lift as I only had one garbage bin, because I so wanted to be done with this company.
So, Still out about $60 and all I have is my two busted garbage bins.
Desired outcome: Republic services to give me the money they owe me. Preferably all of it, not just the removal fee, the two months of an extra lift I paid as well.
Dumpster rental

We have had the service since 2018 when they bought out Florida Refuse.
Have had so many billing issues, keep going up in price without notification, therefore our bank would not approve the auto pay. Lowered our bill in August 2021 and because of this they put it as a new commencement date extending our contract until 2024 even though we have had service since 2018. Wanting to cancel and they want to charge us for 6 months of service, including the fuel surcharge, and the administration fee to create an invoice. I don't understand why we have to pay for 6 months of fuel surcharge and invoice fee for them to make one trip to pick up dumpster and get no more invoices.
Desired outcome: I will agree to pay 6 months of the monthly charge without the fuel surcharge and the invoice fee.
Failure of republic services to respond to missed pickup complaint
On 2/1, Republic picked up my garbage but did not take the green waste bin. On their website I requested they pickup the bin and received an auto email acknowledging they received it. Then NOTHING.
I have had to contact RS about missed pickups and poor services (a bin lying in the street after pickup). What really annoys me is the need to contact RS multiple times to get their failures rectified. I am also complaining to city hall and campaigning to replace Republic with another vendor.

Recyclables non pickup
Hi Mr. Vander Ark,
I signed up for your services 4 weeks ago. Three weeks ago, your company was supposed to pick up my trash and recyclables. I left my trash and recyclables at curbside the night before each scheduled pickup dates.
1/19/2023 Trash was picked up, but the recyclables were not picked up. I called and was advised they would come the next day. No show.
1/26/2023 Trash was picked up, but the recyclables were not picked up. I called and they advised they would come next Thursday 2/2/2023.
2/2/2023 Trash was picked up, but the recyclables were not picked up again. I called and was advised to leave the bin at curbside and the recyclables would be picked up tomorrow Friday 2/3/2023. I live in Massachusetts, and we are having below zero temperatures with high winds. The bin was blown over and I now have trash all over my neighborhood.
2/3/2023 at 9:20 AM. I called to file a complaint and did not get any satisfaction. I was transferred to sales. I spoke to sales and explained my frustration again. The women was of no help. I had to pull the bin back to my house out of the strong winds so it would not blow over again and blow more trash all over my neighborhood. I asked for a more precise time when the driver would arrive so I could bring the bin up tp the street right before they arrive and was denied a more accurate time. I also asked if the driver could call me when he gets to my house and I would bring the bin out to the street. I was denied that request again. I explained in detail that, with the high winds, the bin would blow over again and blow more trash all over the neighborhood again. The women either didn't understand my concerns or didn't care. I tried several times to explain my concerns.
Since I was not able to get satisfaction, I asked her to close out the account and to come pick up the bins. Your company failed to honor the agreement to pick up my trash every week and the recyclables every two week. I explained to both women whom I spoke to, I have pictures of the trash all over the neighborhood and I will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's office. I will forward the pictures to the agencies as well.

Charges
We are on a fixed income, and were late paying or bill. We notified them twice that it would be late to avoid service interruption. They stop our service and did not pick up our trash. But Republic Service continued to charge us for a service that did not provide. The when I paid my regular bill they fraudulently charged my card twice and refused a refund.
commercial garbage pickup
we have had an issue in the past that ive complained to the local company about. they started charging for what they call overages. sometimes its other people dumping in our dumpster late at night so not much we can do about. then it was $45 extra for anything sticking out of top when we are not even paying that amount for the whole dumpster. this time one lid was up slightly with nothing on the ground. they now charged us $55 extra. This is a bunch ridiculous and very unfair. This is a small apartment complex and this extra is hurtful.

Republic waste services
I called Republic Waste 1-week ago to CANCEL ALL SERVICES.
I’ve used Republic Waste Service for a little over 3-years. During that time, trash pick up was missed 25% of the time. So I’d repeatedly have to call and complain. Customer service is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. I would have to call multiple times regarding an issue, and each time I called I was given different information that usually contradicted what the rep I previously spoke with had said. The final issue with Republic was what finally caused me to quit the service.
I had called a few days after Christmas 2022 regarding Christmas Tree pick up.
I was told to have the trees' curbside, trunk end towards the street, and the trees would be picked up on my normal scheduled trash pick up day. Upon my scheduled trash pick up day, the trash was picked up, but not the trees.
I tried calling but the wait time on the phone was in excess of 20-minutes.
After 20-minutes on hold, my call was disconnected. I tried calling a few days later. I reached a rep and I told the rep my Christmas Trees were never picked up. I was told that Christmas Trees were no longer being picked up because it was past the date for tree pick up. The rep did not care that it was Republic’s fault for not picking up the trees when I was told they would be picked up.
Again, the rep was more concerned with “POLICY” than resolving the mistake on Republic’s behalf. The rep told me there was nothing that could be done, and advised me to “Find another service to pick up the trees,” or I could wait until Spring Yard Waste pick up resumed.
At this point, I demanded my account be closed and services stopped. I was told by the department that handles cancellation of services to have my Republic Waste Cans on the curb on my next trash pick up day, Thursday, January 26.
Today, January 26th, my new service picked up the trash, and the Christmas Trees Republic failed to pick up. But my Republic Waste Cans were never picked up. So I called Republic at 4:45PM on Thursday, January 26.
And to my utter disbelief was told that my account had not been cancelled, and that my Republic Waste Cans would not be picked up until February 9th!
I was also advised there would be a pickup fee.
Republic Waste is one of the WORST companies I have ever dealt with.
Their customer service should be called “Customer Harassment” because customers issues are irrelevant and the company seems solely concerned about their failed policies.
Upper management at Republic Waste must not care, because a quick Google search will show the overwhelming amount of complaints against Republic Waste, as well as their HORRIBLE customer service ratings.
Desired outcome: Republic Waste should pick their Waste Cans up at NO CHARGE to me for the horrible service I experienced.
Trash pick up
Your trash men are rude and there is a reason why my auto is parked in the street. We have a person who has a heart condition in the home. Your trashmen have left us a letter stating we need to put our trash cans differentlly. This cannot happen and if they do not do their jobs and refrain from throwing our trash cans in the middle of the street making it a danger for the other autos which drive down the street, I will call the governor and tell him the shabby treatment we are getting at our address. He may find another company to pick up the city's trash. You will be out of luck.
Desired outcome: Your trashmen do their jobs right.
Overpayment reimbursement - dishonest and disgraceful practices
I had an account with Republic Services for many years and I was a loyal customer. In July of 2022 they sold their Cape Cod services to Nauset Disposal who assumed ownership of disposal in my area. I ended up overpaying Republic Services close to $500. Since beginning of November I've been trying to contact Repiublic Services to get a refund check for the balance in my account. At that time, I was told I would receive a check within 6-8 weeks. It is now mid January 2023 and no check was received. I call periodically to customer service and every representative says they will look into it, but give no real information or resolution to the issue. They say it is a different department that handles the refunds and they do not take calls. I feel as if I they are giving me the run around with no clear response as to when a check will be sent. I am shocked they are still in business with practices like this.
I hope they will resolve this soon or I will be forced to take them to court for their despicable acctions.
Desired outcome: I'd like the refund to be sent immediately and an apology for all the time and effort this cost me.
Yes, this issue has finally been resolved. I received a call from a manager who finally assisted me in getting this resolved and a refund was issued immediately. They wired funds into the account of my current waste company. It turned out after a close review that they only owed me half of what I claimed. They had already reimbursed one payment several months ago. The question remains, why this had to take so long. I would advise for the future to make sure to call your account manager rather than the regular customer service. It was when I finally called my account manager, the woman who originally signed me up, that I received the response I was looking for and got hooked up to the right office.
Residential bulk item pickup
I called and scheduled a bulk pick up of a heavy sectional for 1/12. I prepaid as requested and about killed myself getting it to the curb. There it still sits at the end of my drive. I didn't receive even a courtesy call and no one came the next day when I called back and I was told it was escalated, but obviously it wasn't. I was told if they didn't come it would be monday. I don't know anyone who would be ok with furniture sitting out at their curb for 5 days, i'm not. Is it not a verbal contract when you pay and agree to a service date & time? Then you call and continue without service or even a courtesy call... I have been a customer for over 20 years and have not been overly pleased finding my trash can in the road or tossed to the ground recently and am more than unhappy at this point. It seems your company does not care about good customer service and feel it may be time to change services.
Desired outcome: At this point remove the furniture.
Harassment and intimidation
For the last three weeks, my regular republic refuses employee refuses to take my recyclables and card board. I've had these same containers for 5 or 6 years with no problem. Others in my neighbor have the same containers and have had no problem. My regular republic refuse employee put a sticker on one of them telling me the container was not an approved container, but they are both the same container, and have been in use 5 or 6 years. I still have the sticker in my possession. My neighbors and half the town have the exact same containers I am using. But they are not being harassed, bullied, and refused service, why Am I? After complaining about this for three weeks and repeated calls. Republic did drop off two dinky 12"x18" containers. So small, they would not hold much more than a cracker or cookie box. My next scheduled pick up date is 1/19/2023. At which time I will be giving the republic employee those containers back. And instructing them to take my recyclables and cardboard in the exact same containers others are using, just like mine.
Desired outcome: I want to be left alone, I no longer want to be harassed, bullied or have other intimidation tactics directed at me. I have also taken pictures of bins exactly like mine being used, but none of those people have been harassed.
Trash blowing for trailers in route to landfill
From Pittsburgh KS to Lamar MO, trash is blowing from uncovered trailers and terribly disrespectable to the folks who live along US highway 160. Please cover trailers and clean up the trash that currently litters the highway and personal properties! Very disappointed in Republic hauling performance. I have filed a BBB complaint and am in contact with representatives at the state level plus the MO highway patrol.
Driver of truck 2826 anaheim route
The Driver of Truck 2826 seems to be unable to maneuver through the small alley ways that is on his route.
Every morning he drives into our alley and lays on his horn for as long as he can until someone comes out to move their cars to make it easier. The issue is, that people do not always come out to move their cars, which results in this driver laying on his truck horn for up to 30 seconds long over a course of 10- 25 minutes depending in the day. This has been going on for months now.
Today I was forced to call law enforcement because of how long and how disturbing it was.
The officers did not require the driver to give his name, which is fine.
The only information I have is that his truck number is 2826 and to file a complaint with the company directly.
Any help with the situation would be greatly appreciated.
Desired outcome: Please talk to your driver about being a little considerate of his surroundings. My wife and I both work through the night and we make sure our vehicles are never in the way of any of your companies drivers.
Trash trucks
Hello. I have repeatedly complained about the trash truck drivers running over my lawn and destroying not only the landscaping, but also damaging the underground sprinkler system. This time is no different, but the damage has escalated.
As you can see from the photos, the landscaping rock has been relocated by your trucks to the point where it is almost on the sidewalk. As you can also see from the photos, there is more than enough room for the drivers to make the turn without running over my, and my neighbors, lawns. Additionally, the speed at which they approach the turn is alarming. One day, a catastrophic event is going to take place, and someone is going to get hurt. Please help.

Default in service agreement by republic waste services
Notice sent to Republic Waste Services
Cease services immediately due to breaching of service contract by Republic Waste Services-by not providing services in contract to provide for exchange for payment.
On November 21, 2022 we received a credit for a missed trash/dumpster service on November 18,2022. We were then promised that we had been rescheduled for that Monday, the 21st. That never happened. I contacted my rep Becky and left a message. No response. I called again on the 22nd and again we were told we had been rescheduled for the following day. That also never happened. This continued throughout the week with false promises that we were indeed on schedule for pickup, which never occurred. I continued to call customer service and was told we were then scheduled for a Saturday pick up. That did not happen as well. In fact, our last pickup was our regular pick up prior to November 18th and we did not receive service again until Monday, November 28, 2022. During this time, we had to load and haul off trash from the dumpster to prevent a hazardous environment-a breeding ground for microorganisms, bacteria, insects, rodents, odors and potential health issues. Unacceptable.
We were misled and lied to about the reasoning why we were not receiving the service we had paid for and under contract. Additionally, we have complained about the driver not closing the gate on numerous occasions and were told that it was a liability issue, which is nonsense. If the driver can open the gate, they have a duty to close the gate.
As a result, effective immediately, we have requested that they pick up the dumpster from our property and refund the money we have paid for services we did not receive. Our account is paid through December 31, 2022. We would like a credit/refund for 3 missed pick ups and refund for the December services that we prepaid in advance.
As of January 5, the dumpster has not been picked up I contacted our account rep and she informed me that when she spoke to dispatch that told her there wasn't a disruption of services. I reminded her of the many phone calls I made to her and the Winston Salem office and told her a complaint will be filed with the Attorney General's Office of NC on the 6th of January if the dumpster isn't picked up and services ceased as demanded in our letter. Additionally, our attorney will handle the issue from here. Our property is private property and legal action will be in force according to NC law and regulations.
I'm done with the lying and have a journal and pictures of everything that transpired.

Republic services trash and recycle pickup
I live in Newburgh Indiana. In the past several months I’ve had several recycle missed and I’ve had to call and sometimes they don’t come for up to a couple weeks. I have occasional trash problems but this past week was the worst. It was the Monday after Christmas and we had an inch or two of snow and they didn’t come and I understand for that day - but then they didn’t come on Tuesday. I called Tuesday evening they said they would be there Wednesday. I called Wednesday they said they would be there Thursday. I called Thursday evening they said they would be there Friday and finally I asked them to transfer me to someone else. When I talked to that person they admitted that they had put in four 4! missed pick ups for us but somebody got in the system and deleted it. Furthermore, they said due to the weather they would not pick up the trash until January 3! It was 60° that day it was 60° a day before! My problem is with the lying. Everyone in our neighborhood was having the same issue. They kept promising they would come out but they did not. I had to use my time to call multiple times. I now have two trash containers full and several garbage bags that will go out on Tuesday and I am afraid it won’t even be picked up then. Supposedly they’re giving me a refund for a week but it’s not about the money. I want my trash picked up and I don’t wanna be lied to! And I want someone to contact me! This company is run very poorly.
Desired outcome: Refund. Apology, changes made - the CEO himself should make this right!!!
