Rheem High efficiency water heater

Replaced a high efficiency water heater that was 20 years old with a Rheem RHE40SP. Was told that it would take 6 weeks to get the unit since it had to be manufactured. After six week the water heater arrived and was installed. While getting the info to register the unit I noticed the MFG date was September of 2018. The Rheem rep said the warranty starts with the MFG date. The distributor of the unit contacted the sales rep for Rheem and was told that the would give me a 10 year warranty instead of the 6. I asked to get a letter from Rheem stating that this was not a return or reworked unit but was told they had no records on it. Haven’t seen the promised paperwork for the warranty and Reem refuses to replace it with a 2021 unit as was promised.

Desired outcome: Replace unit or provide records reguarsi g the current unit and paperwork providing the 10 yr warranty.

Not a complaint but a question. Purchased a RHEEM RTEX-18 for my home. The Unit itself worked perfectly, however, it was too small for my home although it states its good for 1 shower and 2 sinks. We had to replace the unit because it did not provide the acceptable stated condition. The unit is still whole and works, however, i would like to know if the RHEEM CO. would take back since the unit is less than 1 year old. Please contact me at my email. jccncc1@yahoo.com. My daughter purchased the 4 chamber and it works perfectly for her home. Thank you for your time in reading my request as we are military veterans and are retired with a fixed income.

Rheem Safety/wrongful termination

On Saturday 26th at around 1:00 p.m. I was asked to report to the plant managers office. When I arrived the was a Union Rep, Safety Coordinator, Supervisor, and Plant Manager. When I sat down the Safety Coordinator said “We have a report of you smelling like alcohol, so I’m just going to ask if you were drinking today.” I responded “No sir.” He asked “Did you drink last night?” I responded “Yes sir.” He asked “About how much did you drink last night?” I responded “Close to a 30 pack.” He chuckled. The plant manager then asks “Didn’t you go to gas station on your lunch break?” I responded “Yes sir I did.” He asked “You didn’t see me?” I responded “No sir, I wasn’t looking for you.” The safety coordinator then asked “What time was your beer?” I responded “I fell asleep around 2 or 3.” He then stated “So it’s safe to assume you’re under the influence still and so I’m going to have to send you home for a safety violation.” I was never tested. I also believe that if a person is under the influence at that facility, the company can legally not let you drive yourself off of the premises. Which I was allowed to do. On Tuesday, March 1st. I received a call from H.R. saying I was terminated for violating the drug and alcohol rule.

Desired outcome: Would love employment. But honestly I would just hate it if they made someone leave in the middle of the day who was actually under the influence and something terrible happen.

Rheem Rheem raypak pool heater JOB 183761

Product failed and called for technical support. A call out was arranged in December and charged @217.18 which ended up in a tech coming out, identifying a faulty component that needs to be replaced and thens says that particular part is discontinued.

Multiple calls made to RHEEM since then to try find out about the part and how to remedy the situation. With every call made, it was a service centre person who could not action or escalate anything. They can't provide informationa and then they advise I need to send this to a supervisor. Out of minimum 10 calls made, I have had 1 person call back and that person promised to escalate and have his manager call me. Nothing to date.

You also cannot escalate it yourself to speak to a supervisor or manager as they can't put calls through. What a great service set up to avoid services.

SO I am after a part (part number [protected]) which I can get no information of and Rheem parts arent event acknowledging my emails as to request for this part.

Why is it so difficult to address this issue and if you can't supply the parts, what other remedies are there? Buy an expensive product, which fails after warranty and basically your left to buy a new product?

Desired outcome: Can someone source the part required, if the manufacturer is no longer making the part, find and alternative manufacturer to make it. A REMEDY TO FIXING THE HEATER WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

Rheem Water heater pro + g75 - 76n rh

We purchased a new water heater in Sept 2020. We had problems 2 months later with the pilot not lighting... And more problems after 3 attempted fixes. The last step before Rheem would replace the unit took 3 days of no hot water to get the part. Our contractors luckily were the best and came as soon as the part was in and moved their schedules around. Turns out the new part did not fix the defect until. Rheem then agreed to replace after waiting 40 mins on hold. However, Rheem did not offer to pay for all the labor for the reinstallation only a portion. This is not fair to anyone that there was a defective water heater and they refuse to pay the full cost of the reinstallation.

Rheem Water heater recall

My 1.5 year old water heater has a recall for the controller and i now have a new rheem unit under warrenty but i have a $1360 installation bill from the plumber. I think rheem should pay the labor to replace the unit. I cannot get a answer on the phone from rheem.

Desired outcome: RHEEM SHOULD PAY THE LABOR COST FOR MY NEW WATER HEATER.

Rheem Hot water heater

I purchased my Rheem hot water heater in August 2020. January 4, 2022 it stopped working. The pilot would not light. Arklaflo Plumbing checked the hot water heater and after replacing the thermocouple, and checking for other problems, they stated that the gas control valve and the burner assembly needed to be replaced. I called the Rheem 800 number and they agreed to send the control valve but refused to send the burner assembly. On January 13, 2022 I again contacted American Home Shield. They contacted Arklaflo. Arklaflo contacted Rheem. Rheem told them they would mail the burner assembly. Now I am into the 2nd week without hot water and the burner assembly has not arrived. Why was it not see by overnight mail? Why in the dead of winter do I not have hot water? Why did I spend $500 for a hot water heater that broke after a year? So you all have a heart? Please chose to make peoples lives better and not worse. I won't buy another Rheem.

Rheem Water Heater

First one purchased caught fire. They replaced it. Within 2 years had to have pressure valve replaced. Now valve is leaking water again. The call tree originally said wait was 21 minutes. After 10 minutes it changed and said wait would be 24 minutes. Next it said wait was 61 minutes. I have been on hold for over 2 hours still cannot get support. Would not recommend this product.

Desired outcome: Warranty in effect or I would replace with another brand.

Rheem Rheem performance plus water heater model# xg50t09he40u0

On September 7-10, 2015 I purchased a Rheem Performance Plus water heater, Model# XG50T09HE40U0 and Serial# M371508851 for over $900.00, from Home Depot in Santa Fe, NM.

Based on my warranty information I only had the item for 6.33 years.

On January 7, 2022, my Rheem Water heater stopped functioning. I tried calling the Claims department and Technical Service number several times everyday today, until January 10, 2022and was unable to get through to anyone. I then contacted the Home Depot, and several licensed plumbers, including the Rheem service providers in Santa fe, to have the unit fixed but they were unable to render repair. Having been without hot water for 4 days, in the middle of winter, I was forced to purchase a new water heater to resolve the issue and now I am demanding a refund of $1, 200.00 for my time, my costs, and my extreme pain and suffering of having to exist without hot water for bathing, washing and cooking.

Rheem Rheems.com not shipping part when ordered

I order 2 parts from rheems.com over night shipping one has showed up 2 days after it was supposed to and my other one is still being processed both over night now costumer service is saying its back order at one warehouse but they have it at the other its bs I paid for over night and now my family and myself have been without hot water for a week order #r12462026 and r12462026 and on top of it all the 1 800 number on the tank dont even work

Desired outcome: i want my part over night now and refund on the over night on them both

gas valve failed in only 14 months of service . Was told it was a recalled item so possible no labor cost to me ! Got a bill of over $225.oo labor to replace ! is this possibly refundable? Not happy with your product .Refund for labor cost Installed by Whink in Grundy Center Iowa

Rheem Electric Water Heater Model XE40M09EL45U1

Installed water heater in July, 2020. I noticed on December 28th the my water was warm not hot. I inspected the water heater and the power light was off. I checked the breaker panel and the breaker was not tripped, turned the breaker off the removed the panel and hit the reset button. The water heater came back on and within 45 minutes it turned back off again. I inspected the lower element and tested with an OHM meter all was good but I did notice that the plastic shield covering the lower element was melted. I called Rheem and after 30 minutes of being on hold I explained to Tom in Tech Support what I was experiencing. He told me they are going to ship me a lower element. A day later and now the reset button will not reset and I have no hot water in December I was forced to go out and purchase a new OA Smith water heater. I will never use a Rheem product again. If you are thinking about purchasing one done.

Desired outcome: Rheem should reimburse me for the purchase price of the waterheater that had to be replaced.

In Sept 2021 the pilot light went out and could not be re-lit. PG&E determined that the thermal couple was faulty and needed replacement. Abed Sarari from a company named awhap came to change the thermal couple and said if he changes the part it probably will still not work. I heard one lie after another but he didn't stand a chance because I had my duck...

Rheem gas water heater

On November 6, 2021 my Rheem water heater PROG50-38N RH60 failed. Plumber who installed this unit on July 2, 2020 advised the gas control P/N SP20303D had failed and was on back order from his supplier and expected date of mid December. This water heater S/N M242022636 was maanufactured June 11, 2020 and paperwork stated it has a parts warranty of 5 years. On November 8, 2021 placed order #R12224061 with Rheem which showed part in stock. After two separate chats with Rheem and 8 days later without hot water part had not shipped. I cancelled the order and paid a premium to obtain the part from another source which shipped immediately. I am a homeowner and attempts to file warranty are met with call back later numerous times. I thought Rheem was a quality product but now will never purchase a Rheem product of any kind

Rheem Rheem Hot Water Heater Warranty non existant

My hot water heater failed after 4 years of use. Called warranty and got an agent after 2 hours of being on hold. Was given claim number to call after submitting pictures. The number is always busy and unable to get a call back. I was screwed out of my money. warranty is non existent with this company. Steer clear. They should be sued by the amount of people that have experienced the same issues. A class action lawsuit should be filed!

Rheem RHEEM Water Heater

OCTOBER 16, 2021

I purchased a Rheem water heater in April 2021 from Home Depot. I chose one that was a grade higher than the basic model because it gave a better warranty. I put this on my Home Depot credit card and paid it off over 6 months. I just made the last payment last week. Starting October 13, I entered my shower to almost scalding hot water after turning the knob to a position that would normally not be hot at all. I noticed after this shower that the lower unit indicator light remained lit for more than 24 hours and continues to be lit, despite no use of hot water.
I called Rheem service as my unit is still under warranty. They advised me that they would be in touch with a solution soon. They would provide an Authorized Service Provider to look at my at my water heater.
I received an email the following day saying that they had no Authorized Providers available and that it would be up to me to find a provider of my choice would could bill them and expect payment.
I called around to 5 different companies and all of them told me they would not bill Rheem, that I would be responsible for the bill and could then get reimbursed by Rheem. They all advised me that the soonest they could provide a technician would be 10 days to 3 weeks. In the meantime, I have no hot water at all! I called Rheem back the next day to advise them of my findings and they said I should be contacted the next day with a solution. Again I got an email saying that they had no authorized provider to send.
I called the third day and spoke with Technical Support. He walked me through, turning off the power, removing the element doors and hitting the reset switch. None of this changed anything. He then emailed me technical support documents on obtaining a digital multimeter capable of reading voltage and testing the elements and other parts of the hot water heater.
Sir, I am a 65 year old Retired Registered Nurse and I don't feel like I can do, nor should I be asked to do these tasks. I bought a hot water heater with an upgraded warranty so I wouldn't have to do these tasks. This system is less than 6 months old!
At a loss of what I can do to expedite this situation, I went to the Home Depot today in East Asheville, NC and asked to speak to the manager. She did not think it was a big deal that I should wait 10 days for hot water. She asked if I had purchased an extended Home Depot warranty and I advised I had not, because the warranty that came with the water heater is for 9 years. I didn't see a need for that. She basically brushed me off and said she she could not help me.

I am very frustrated, that no one can help me. We just had a weather front come through this morning and temperatures are to be in the 30's and 40's the next few days. I do not have a bathtub in my house, where I could boil water and take a bath. Only a shower.
I would appreciate anything you could do for me.

Rheem Water Heater

I purchased a water heater 3-4 years ago. I am a one-person household. The unit blew up with only moderate use. I have attempted to contact customer service on numerous occasions however, I was unsuccessful.

Rheem should provide a refund as this is an emergency and I cannot go without hot water and now must go purchase a new water heater.

Rheem Warranty misfiled; Rheem did not remedy

In 2020 (probably November), my new Rheem gas pack was purchased and installed. The installed did preliminary warranty registration (5 year coverage) and told me to complete registration for full warranty coverage of 10 years. In late January, I tried to complete registration and my name was not accepted for the serial number. Over the course of the next month, I made 3 calls to Rheem warranty help. My daily records list only two of the calls, February 5th and February 8th. I sent serial number information. I was told to have the contractor update his warranty information. I contacted him. I checked warranty info on February 20th (records) and my name was not accepted. On May 16th, I contacted Rheem directly and about 2 days later received an email stating that although I was beyond the 6 month warranty window, they would fix the registration. When that was done, they would send me an email. I never heard from them again. My unit has only a 5 year warranty.

Desired outcome: Fix the data so I have a full 10-year warranty on my unit.

Rheem Rheem ecoSmart water heater

You would think that a national brand like Rheem would have a warranty dept that answers the phone. Guess what, they have it set up to loop or busy out! WTH?

All I can say is that I'll NEVER EVER buy another Rheem product. I'll boil my water to get hot water before buying another RHEEM hot water heater.

Rheem Evaporator Coil in Air conditioner

We have a Rheem Air conditioner system which was installed in 2013. This year we started experiencing air conditioning not cooling our home. I called PS& G to check to find out there was a major leak and so they filled with Freon. We had to pay $350.00 for Freon. PS& G did not charge us for the labor. 2 months go by and now we are in the same situation again!
I called Rheem customer service. They told me I have to get licensed tech to diagnose the problem, he will then go to parts store, install it and send the defective one to Rheem. Part will be replacement and defective part will go to Rheem. It is going to cost $1800.00. We cannot afford it.
I came to know that there was a class suit against Rheem against, which was settled. However people who experience the same problem what are they supposed to do? I do not know where to go for help.
