prescription shortage
What follows is an accurate transcription of the events that have occurred since I received my prescription from Dr. Santana on April 9, 2009: Facts: I received my prescription from Dr. Santana on April 9, 2009.I took my prescription to the pharmacy authorized via signed documents at Samaritan Behavioral Health (SBH): Rite Aid, 842 State St., Watertown, NY...

I think the Rite Aid single check rebate is a rip off and it has many loopholes.
Here is why: I made 1 purchases that would qualify for January and 2 purchases February 2009 rebate over the weeks and 3 more on the last week on February 2009.
I entered the receipts as directed from RiteAid.com on several different dates before the submission due date in mid February. (January 2009 submission due date is Feb-23-09, February 2009 is Mar-30-09)
Unaware that the Rite Aid system AUTOMATICALLY requests the checks before submission due dates, which it did on February 20th for BOTH January and February checks. I was no longer able to enter the 3 purchases made on the last week of February 2009. Which is about $15.
I am going to challenge Rite Aid rebate’s department with its 1-888 number.

rip off
Rite Aid offered a rebate for an item that the store was out of. The store manager issued a rain check for the item and stated the store would honor the rebate even though the item would not come in until after the rebate period ended. I obtained the item two weeks later at the rain check price and was told I had to return on a weekday for the clerk to fax the rebate request, which I did.
A week afterward the fax was sent, I received an email stating Rite Aid would not honor the rebate as it did not state 'rain check' on the receipt, although the receipt showed the item was purchased at the 'rain check' price and the rebate item number was indicated. The email stated I needed to re-fax the receipt indicating 'rain check' on the receipt and also said I could not reply to the email, but had to post a dispute on their website.
I posted three disputes on their website stating the Rite Aid Store had faxed the receipt to them and so I should not have to do anything further to receive the rebate check. I received two replies insisting I re-fax the receipt, even though I indicated I'm snowed in and their store originally faxed the receipt.
I believe this is a ripoff as I was told their store would take care of faxing the receipt and I would get a rebate check for the item obtained at the rain check price. Their customer service emails repeatedly refused to acknowledge that their store followed their procedure incorrectly and issue my rebate check. I think their policy must be to make people jump through so many hoops that they never have to issue a rebate. They should not be allowed to advertise and continue this program as it's a fraud. Thank you for providing a forum for people to report these ripoffs!

plowing
At 12am on Tuesday morning, January 20th. A plow/bobcat was racing around the parking lot. Revving it's engine over and over waking me up. This has continued for almost 2 hours now.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
my son's medicine was called in on Monday. Friday it still was not ready. Rite aid is the worst place you can go for medicine.
Rite Aid is not a plowing company. They have contractors that do that. So if someone was revving an engine it's probably because it snowed, and they parking lot has to be clear of snow and ice, so they can not be sued. Complain to the company who does the plowing. It's not a Rite Aid issue. They have pleny of their own. Why make an unneccesary complaint about it?
what ? Are you kidding me? Complaining about a plow? Are you for real? Your probably one of those people who would also be the first to ### if the plow didn't come around. Get a life and find something more important then plows to ### about.
cashier
On 11/19/08, I stop by my local Rite Aid and waited in line about 5 minutes with one cashier in front Named Greg, it was 6:10 Pm, almost the rush time. I walked to the register and Said I wanted to use my Rite aid gift card to pay for my shopping and some how it was not working and I asked Greg to try it again, which He did it and I said Ok Let me a have a...

I hate rite aid and wish it go bankrupt and fast.
They dont' treat their employees well here.
I hope rite aid dies in a pile of its own gorge-induced flaming mess of putrid puke. "Harrassment shall not be tolerated?" Yah right. They'll let anyone harrass workers so long as they slam a buck down on the counter in the process. Rite aid is the devil, and CUSTOMERS are his minions.
terrible quality product
After working out @ the gym i went shopping with my 7yr old son, then we stop & got ice cream we then walked over to riteaid to get a product i had paid 4. It was damaged so i was to get another but forgot 2, got home then i remembered i called & was told 2 come back & get my item. While i was shopping @ the riteaid the manager was watching me looking @ me suspiciously i then asked to get my item the manager was unprofessional, rude was talking to the employees in very disrespectful voice tone manner he then kicked me & my son out the store for no reason.

I dont know about other Rite Aids but the one on main street in Huntington is a cheap poorly run store. gave me once again the wrong medication. But 99 % of the time, I go to get a re fill on my medications and told they are out and i would have to wait to 3 pm the next day.
poor customer service / clueless pharmacists
We used to have an Eckerd's. It was clean, organized. The staff was customer-oriented. Service was great. Pharmacy was excellent. Eckerd was sold and turned into a Rite Aid. It is awful. Poor service. Idiot pharmacy. The store is diminished and feels claustrophobic. I am switching to CVS in town after using this drug store for 10 years.

This store needs serious help. All there new employees are very unfriendly and a bunch of idiots. This store made a bad decision when they got rid of there old help. They need them back and several people in Colquitt are swithching to the other pharmacy in that town because who wants to shop at a store where all the employees are dumb as a box of rocks.
This store is getting worse and worse. I really dislike all the employees and I've moved all my business elsewhere. The pharmacy never has your prescriptions ready on time and the employees act like there all on drugs.
I would like to contact all owners of stores leased by RITE AID.
The management is totally incompetent and will drive the company to a ditch. The other two companies, CVS and Welgreen, with a comparable number of stores, the same kind of merchandise, the same price range, make ten times more money per year. The top management of RITE AID Is clearly incapable of running the company. From advertisement to store policies, they do an extremely poor job.
OWNERS we have invested our life savings in those stores. We have a big stake on this, bigger than the shareholders who can sell their shares with just a phone call (and they are doing so in droves.)

I honestly think that Rite Aid is racist. I went in that store the other day and it looks like they fired all there white employees and kept the black ones. I'm not racist, Please don't be offended by my reply, but I think everyone should be treated fairly.
I know, Rite Aid in Colquitt is going down fast. I hate the new employees. I agree they need to hire back there old help or either close the store for good.
I totally agree with that! They have lost there minds!
rude employees
I will never shop at Rite Aid again. The cashier I believe her name was Stephanie, thats what it said on her name tag. She totally ignored me and was talking on her cell phone behind the counter. When she finally come to ring me up she never put her phone down. She never asked how I was doing or nothing. That store needs to fire her.
She donr the same thing to me the other day. What is wrong with that girl and why do they let her get away with it. If Amy was still the manager she wouldn't let her get away with it.
Listen everyone they moved her to Donalsonville maybe the next move will be out the door for good.
I used to work there and I don't know how she gets away with it. She's had so many complaints and she's still there. They suspended me for a stupid reason and I never had any complaints on me. I guess its just who you are. They are totally unfair! NEVER WORK FOR RITE AID!
a very unpleasant experiance
I've been a loyal customer of Rite Aid, but I had a very unpleasant experience with one of your stores today, which makes me feel offended and insulted.
Today I went to Rite Aid store# 6233, 776 Market Street San Francisco to retune a merchandiser. With no greeting, this lady asked me "why you took so long" in a very unfriendly way. I told her this was purchased on 7/11 and today is 8/2. It's in 30 days and this merchandiser is unused. I was asked why I wanted to return it and I told her I didn't like the flavor. She went to check if this was a rebate item for about 5 minutes and came back confirming it was not. And then she claimed that I wanted to return it because I took the wrong rebate item. She also indicated that I was not being "honest", in a very offensive way. I asked what her name and her work ID but she refused to gave that to me. She also looked at my receipt and read out loud my name to the other 2 cashiers and asked them to "remember my name". So I told her I would like to complain to the store manager and she gave me the "go ahead there's nothing you can do" gesture. On the way out, I asked the security who the manager was and he said that lady was the manager (supervisor).
As a consumer, I have my right to return any merchandiser based on your return policy. I do not mind being questioned but I believe everybody would prefer in a friendly way. Your company claimed Rite Aid is a place where customers are treated with respect and they feel appreciated and welcome. However, I didn't feel respected by being called "not honest" and with my name read out loud. This is very unprofessional.
This lady refused to give me her name and work ID. She was about 5'6"-5'7" tall, mid 40's, Spanish looking.
I'd like to hear what Rite Aid would like to treat their customers with respect. I was insulted and offended today and it definitely affect my future purchasing at Rite Aid.

bad service
Last month I had a prescription filled ($215.99) I take 2 pills 2 times daily (4 pills per day). My prescription is for 30 days so that would be 120 pills.
When I got home there were 40 pills in the bottle, but I did not think I could do anything about it. Today I had my prescription filled again. As soon as i got home I counted the pills and there were 106 pills. I immediately called the pharmacy who said they would count their remaining inventory and call me back. Of course when they called back, they said that their inventory was correct so they would do nothing about it. That meant that I would have to go for sometime without my medication, until the 30 days was up and I could again fill my prescription. I take Focalin 10mg and although there is a generic that my insurance would cover, Rite Aid says that their supplier cannot get the generic, so the $215.99 comes out of my Social Security monthly payment of $749. Please advise other people of Rite Aid's prescription shortage policy.

While this story seems unlikely, I've known Rite Aid employees to do stupid things like hand out prescriptions like Fentanyl to people who don't have the prescription for them because they were placed in wrong bag. It's happened twice to me. Once I was suppose to be picking up my fathers heart medicine and I was given Fentanyl pills and the next time I was suppose to be picking up my daughters asthma inhaler and they gave me 10 Fentanyl patches. Both times I didn't even get to the front door before turning around and requesting the proper medications. My point is that while the laws are strict on all controlled substances, they cannot fully control the stupidity of employees.
I should also add that when I return the first mixed up medicine, the Pharmacist looked at me and said, "Oh, we've been looking for that for three hours!"
drugmonkeyrph@gmail.com This is David Stanley Monroe a pharmacist with Rite-Aid. Email him your complaint as he has corporate's ear.
Just last week I left my prescription at drive thru to be filled, came back in about 25 minutes and picked up at window. I then drove home got setteled, set down opened my bag infront of my husband and daughter for the first time. They put it in 2 bottles because they had to use 2 different brands to get the 135 quanity it was written for. So I open them and I respond by saying out loud that it did not look like enough pills. So I counted and there was only a total of 102 pills, so each bottle was short. I called cvs and after discussion I drove back, went inside spoke to 2 different people.I was treated very ugly and I left without my proper amount, but its not over because I called the corp. office, the police and I am filing a complaint with the state pharmacy board. I may never get the missing pills owed to me but I will cause the true vilian to be discovered. So before you judge people who have to have pain medicine to work and live a farely normal life you need to walk in our shoes. Infact you people who are so closed minded or judgemental your probably some of the ones stealing our medicines for a profit or a quick high, your just trying to sound like some fine upstanding employee of a drug store or someone in the medical feild. You see anyone can be a thief or addicted to drugs even if they are in charge of dispensing the medicines. 3ruptureddisk
oh look another controlled substance drug user saying they were shorted pills... why am I not surprised.
Vicodin, Oxycontin, Focalin, Ritalin, Adderall, Acetaminophen with Codeine, Lortab... I can go on and on... people who take these drugs almost ALWAYS SAY THEY WERE SHORTED. Lies!
We double count controlled substances, mostly all pharmacies do.
Stop trying to get more drugs to feed your addiction!
The first time your were shorted 80 pills, and said nothing about it because you thought you couldn't do anything about it. The next time your script is short 14 pills, and you bring it to their attention at once. Something in your story sounds wrong. I agree with FamousFarker- this is almost an impossibility with this type of medication.
That is almost an impossibility. First off with highly controlled substances like that, the pills are counted twice. Secondly their inventory is kept very up to date. Half of a missing pill or extra pill can get you in an assload of trouble. Thirdly, the description you made is very common for those who abuse control medication or who want extra quantities of the amount. Now I'm not accusing you of being an abuser of drug, but from my knowledge of standard pharmacy procedure, if what you describe is true, then either someone in the pharmacy is stealing from your bottle, or your complaint is a flat out lie. And theft or accusations of theft pertaining to prescriptions drugs can be considered felonious and may involve the DEA as well as your local law enforcement.
Next time have them count it there at the pharmacy BEFORE you leave. They will probably be busy but with this being a control substance the law is very strict on this. ALso read the quantity dispensed amout on your bottle. Sometimes even though the doc wrote for a 30 day supply your insurance may not cover it. The pharmacy is suppose to notify you of this to give you an option of filling it for whatever the covered amount is or pay out of pocket

I went to Rite Aid today and I was not pleased with Hayley's service she gave to me. I went to school with her so I know her name. She was really rude to me. She didn't greet me when i came in, I asked her a question and she walked away, then I was ready to check out and it took her ten mins. to get to me, she didn't say sorry for taking so long, matter of fact she didn't say anything to me while I was up there. She didn't tell me my total, if I found what I needed, she just stood there like she owned the place. Plus, she didn't say have a good day either. I hate getting rude service. SHE JUST NEEDS TO BE FIRED. SHE IS ALWAYS LIKE THAT EVERY TIME I GO IN THAT STORE. E MAIL NOT!

Sounds like a personal problem to me.
Yes, the service is awful.A cashier decided that a man came before me and told me that she was going to serve him firs, despite the fact that it wasn't true.I am not going to go there anymore .
Hmmm... What was your relationship like with her when you were in school? My guess is, not good. And it has carried over. Maybe she has a right to not like you. Maybe you were a bully.
I know if my ex-wife came into my store, I would tell her to shove off. In fact, it is more common than you think. Figure your life out before you start making personal attacks on others.
don't take your sons into a saginaw, mi rite aid
I used to work at the Rite AID in Saginaw MI. I was fired because the manager thought I was talking to the police about her sleeping with another employee’s 14 year old son. That’s rape here in Michigan. I was turned into Loss Prevention as a thief, but it was the manager and her friends who were doing the stealing and blaming other innocent employee’s. As with our District Manager (Frank M.) and Loss Prevention (Brad S.) they took the managers (Becky) side, and I was fired for cash shortages on my till. Becky and her friend Connie (the mother of the 14yr old boy) did all my checkouts and I didn’t know anything was wrong until they confronted me and fired me. You bet I’m pissed, I will call the police and local news agencies to get the word out to as many people as I can! Don’t take your sons into a Saginaw Mi. Rite Aid!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Pretty sad isn't it, that Becca didn't get anything for staturoy rape.? At least she no longer works for the company.
terrible customer service!
I used to work for this Rite Aid, and believe me when I tell you that it was horrible. First of all, I was given the very bare minimum of hours, usually between 20 and 25. I later found out that the store managers got a quarterly bonus if they kept their labor percentages low. Meanwhile, their employees are struggling to feed their families and pay their bills.
They refused to make anyone full time, except the 3 managers, making overtime an impossibility. I started out at minimum wage, and after 11 months of working there, I received a 30 cent raise. I was absolutely shocked and offended by that.
Why not find a better job? Around here there are so few opportunities for employment unless you are willing to travel at least an hour to a major city, which at the time I was unable to do.
Moving on, the store management was a joke. They never knew what was going on in the store. The way this company has it set up, a cashier basically can't do anything except ring out a customer, so any refunds, voids, or exchanges had to be handled by management. However, when there is only one person responsible for all of that at any given time during the day, it makes it very hard to deal with customers in a timely fashion. I can't tell you how many time I was left waiting for upwards of 15 minutes, with a confused customer staring at me, wondering why I wasn't refunding her purchase, while I was paging a manager every minute or two. Then management would finally come up and USUALLY resolved the issue quickly, and I was left to deal with the then rude and impatient customer, as if I had done anything wrong.
Shop lifting was apparently not a concern for them, because no cameras were in the store, not even behind the counters! What if someone had tried to rob me while I am standing there? There wouldn't have been any evidence on video! We were always finding empty packages of items, and I was told by the store manager that some months they lost nearly $5, 000 from shoplifting. It wasn't a surprise to me, because people, usually teenagers, came in regularly and left quickly without purchasing anything. Shortly after they left we would find the empty packages stuffed behind merchandise or left on the floor.
Also, as associates, we were told that we could not, under any circumstances, accuse someone of stealing, even if we had seen them steal something, because they could sue the company for profiling. They needed concrete evidence. How were we supposed to get that?! There were ANY CAMERAS ON THE PREMISES!.
Overall, the managers were all rude, moody individuals. They would give you absolutely NOTHING to do for weeks at a time, leaving you to stand at the register for your entire shift, hoping that someone needed help finding something so that you could keep your brain from atrophying. Or, they would give you a ridiculous amount of tasks to be completed in a short amount of time. Either way, it was just a bad situation.
All in all, my experience there was mostly negative. In the end of my 'career' there, I could not wait to leave and move on to bigger and better things.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
They are the worst company I have ever seen. I will never shop there again.
Any present/former Rite Aid employees? What do you think of RAPTAR?
It really does not matter how many RAPTARS you get the managers just give the rewards to te people that they feel should get it. I know this I have witnessed it. I have been asked who d you think should get it this time? I have seen it also that some person has had RAPTARS four deep which in most cases is about twenty more then other employees and they do not get knowledge at all. so to me it is all for nothing.
And to top it all off riteaid does not even care enought about their employees to let them be home on christmas day with their families. Yeah, thats right we are open on CHRISTMAS DAY. what [censor]
I'm an employee at Rite Aid. I've worked there for 3.5 years. I started at 7.00 an hour. I'm currently 7.65. Mind you after the minimum wage increase. I work my fingers to the bone but every day that passes I slowly do less and less because nothing is thanked for. Nothing is praised. Nothing matters to anyone in these stores. I happened to see what a brand new employee, with less education and less experience than me, got hired for a year ago. 7.75 an hour. He's going to get an increase soon, which boils my blood. Whenever he works our customer service score goes down. He sits on the counter when customers are coming in. He constantly plays and when he and one manager work together NO work gets done but the bare minimum, leaving it all for me the next day. Another worker who makes moer than me only stands behind the register and does nothing at all. She just stands there and gets paid for it while I'm running all over the store doing the best I can, doing as much work as I can get done, and kicking myself when I can't because I know management will complain about it to me later. Similar things happen in another store with my best friend. This company doesn't care one lick.
Raptar? What is Raptar? Oh...that thing in the backroom that just takes up space?
You should work for the distribution center in Dayville, CT. I was just let go from there because I constantly complained about my co-worker sleeping and using racial remarks about african americans. Rite Aid chose to cover it all up. This man is in Loss Prevention, yet was stealing himself. I couldn't believe it when H.R. terminated me instead, they said Rite Aid didn't like complainers, even if my co-worker didn't do his job, at least he didn't complain. ARE YOU KIDDING? I pray every day that they go under. Hopefully my wish will be granted!
All of you are so rit! I used to work there, was there for 2 years! was promised a first shift job but ended working all nights bc 2 other girls that had there [censor] kissed had first shift mon-fri and no weekends while me, motherof 2 had all nights and weekend makin 7 dollars an hour to kiss [censor] and put up with [censor] all night and weekend! I told them many times that wasnt fair that i worked the times i did and didnt get off till 9 at nite then i would have to go pick up my kids go home which i was driving another 45 minutes after i got off then go home get bath, homework and bed!So...after 2 years of puttin up with this [censor] i gave a 3 weeks notice and left! They are all rude!Big company people would come in and tell you everything to do then leave and at the store i worked at the manager was always up front by him self but was also suppose ta be in the back puttin a truck which is about impossible but he got wrote up for this! they treat people like [censor]! WHIT US ITS PERSONAL AND NOW 15 MINUTE RX'S...LMAO! THIS IS [censor]! THEY NEED TO SHUT THERE DOORS! I HOPE THEY GO UNDER SO FAST! I TRANSFERED ALL MY RX'S AND THEY KEEP SENDING ME COUPONS FOR 25 DOLLAR GIFT CARDS TO COME BACK...HELL NO...I THREW THOSE AWAY AND WILL NEVER STEP ANOTHER FOOT NOR WILL ANY OF MY MONEY EVER...EVER GO TO ANOTHER RITE AID STUPID COMPANY AGAIN! I WILL BE SITTIN BACK LAUGHING SO HARD WHEN THEY GO UNDER! DONT EVER GET A J O B THERE!
RITE AID TREATS THEIR EMPLOYEES LIKE DOGS. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT ANYONE, ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS THEIR BONUSES WHILE THE CASHIERS GET MINIMUM WAGE 25 HOURS A WEEK AND WHEN WE DO GET A RAISE ITS LIKE 10 CENT A YEAR. DO THEY NOT THINK THAT WE HAVE BILLS TO PAY! I JUST DONT GET PAID ENOUGH TO PUT UP WITH THEIR ###! I HOPE THAT THEY GO BANKRUPT AND ALL THOSE SNOTTY ### CORPORATE PEOPLE LOSE THEIR JOB THEN MAYBE THEY WILL SEE WHAT IT FEELS LIKE. THEY DONT HAVE A CLUE!

Andy Troszak seems shady to me too. Why do his companies have so many different names. I am trying to get in touch with the Canadian Gov't in regards to him and his company.
I'm confused, Andy Troszok' company ...www.pharmacy-online.ca/drugs/fosamax.jsp responded to this e-mail but it is posted by "Canada Drugs" which has very bad reviews. "Pharmacychecker.com" is another scam too. I am confused as to whether Mr. Troszok's company "Extended care pharmacy" is legit too. I'm sure this blog which hasn't been commented on in over a year will be full of "positive" reviews in his defense full of links and phone numbers promoting the site.
The card in question has information that allows medical providers to bill your insurance. It does not include prescription coverage. You may have a separate prescription insurance or discount card, or you may not have prescription coverage at all. http://www.pharmacy-online.ca/drugs/fosamax.jsp
lost prescription
I put in 2 requests at the pharmacy: one was a refill and the other was new prescription. The intake person said it would take approximately an hour, which I thought was odd because they are not known for having several items in stock. I returned an hour later to find that the refill was complete, however they had to order the new script which would take 2 days.
I returned 2 days later and they said there was no prescription on file. I told them in great detail the description of the intake person at 6:30 PM on Monday, as well as a description of the guy who told me he would order it approximately 8 PM the same night. Luckily the second pharmacist was still working when I called. He had to search for the prescription & would call me back. Two hours later he called back to say he found my new prescription. It was filled the following day.
I think that's extremely scary that a pharmacy could "lose" a prescription, because they are all written on small pieces of paper. Even more terrifying is t here's been ID theft taken from prescription drug labels nowadays! Rite Aid's system of checks & balances had failed.
I'm concerned if I should go back there to fill my future prescriptions.

Thanks for letting me speak my mind,

The cashiers on the floor are rude and not on task. some even twirling and dancing around. I fell on the floor and no one came to my assistance although visible from pharmacy and an associate nearby. Luckily I was not injured. Please rectify this or this is another Rite Aid bound to close. Employ mature associates with customer service knowledge.

The Mt. Shasta store is the worst one i have ever been in. The pharmacy never answers calls, long long lines, always confused. It has now taken me ten days to pick up diabetic supplies. Still not ready. The store does not have sales items frequently. Many times no gift cards can be issued because of electronic problems.
Why is there NO Norco in the pharmacy. I'm in so much pain. I have to move. I go to Rite Aid on 47 st in Palmdale Calif .
Pharmacy being close mid-day. Two day in a row went to pick up scripts and it was closed for lunch. WHY? I stop when I have time, I don't have time to schedule an appointment to pick up my meds. Fix it or I'm gone, I don't have time for this. The Rite Aid in Plains, Pa 18705
I went to pick up my meds at the rite aide pharmacy. I was told the pharmacy was closed in both warrenton, or. And seaside or. For a week. Its a long drive to another rite aide. The reason the pharmacys were both on vacation for another week. I'm out of my pills I need them 4 days ago. This is unacceptable.
ABSOLUTELY the worst pharmacy i ever had to deal with. short hours made even shorter depends what time they feel like going home. absolute incompetence from everyone in this pharmacy. we won’t even mention all the times they are past due and don’t have you monthly medications in stock (every month). honestly a joke of a Pharmacy
