auto loan
They were told we were going to refinance the vehicle we had through them with our credit union. They talked my wife into modifying the loan with them. The agreed payments were made then the vehicle was repossessed for non payment. They're denying ever getting the paperwork that was sent to them via fax even though we tried to get them to let us scan and email the paperwork. They told us that emailing the paperwork wasn't an option.

My loan was about 18000, after paying on it for 4 years, it is at 17000. I don't understand this and I am sick and tired of this scam and their harassment. I'm considering a voluntary repo. I really need help. I don't know what else to do. This loan has completely ruined my life. I have paid over 10000 and this is absolutely ridiculous. Please add me to this lawsuit.
Have an attorney look over your contract with Santander because they have been sued for millions within the past 3 years for predatory lending practices and the car places that have acquired their loans have mislead many customers on their payoff amount and term of agreements. You may have a lawsuit and don't even know it.
customer service
As of last Monday (Jul 29th), I contacted Santander to create a promise to pay on Aug 16th in the amount of 363.45. I also made the CSR aware I would be making another payment of $363.45 on Aug 30th. Since then I have received multiple calls daily to let me know my account is past due. I am fully aware. I was unemployed for two months and made CSR aware of this, as well as my new job and pay periods. I finally answered the third call of today as it is becoming borderline harassment and AGAIN made the same promise to pay just in case first CSR documented incorrectly. Three calls within three hours is cold calling, regardless of the reason of the call. I have been in touch with the company more than enough times to make them aware of my situation. If I continue to have this issue I will contact corporate.
unable to get proof of lien release from santander
My name is Lloyd Edwards with South Dakota Dealer's License D850. On 10/14/2018 I purchased a 2009 Pontiac Vibe GT from Jessica Kimberly McConnell, 911 Lazywood Dr., Chickasha, OK 73018-1812, after damage from hitting a deer on the road. The title was issued to her on 12/27/2017, so assumed there was no lien; however, I failed to notice on the title that Santander Consumer USA is listed as lienholder, dated 11/12/2014. I tried to locate Jessica, but had no phone number and could not find information about her. So I called Santander two different times to get a lien release, and both times I was told they have no record of that lien, so could not send me a release. Even the 0klahoma Motor Vehicle Division had no record of a lien on that vehicle. The DMV here in South Dakota told me that I cannot transfer the title that I have, without a copy of a lien release or a statement from Santander saying they have no lien on that vehicle. I can send you a copy of the title if that is needed, but I just need to know how to get a lien release from Santander?
Hello, Jessica should've given you a bill of sale with your title. Have you contacting her by mail yet? Attach a copy of the title or send it with your information to vehicletitleadvisor@gmail.com
Good luck

Puchased car with co signer. They did bankruptcy a yr later. My online account is disabled. Why I didnt file. I make the payments etc. Requested a monthly statement told cant do this due to my co signers bankruptcy. This is insane! I called they sent me payment history. But I have to request that each month. My car is mine. The co signer never listed on title. Nobody will refinance due to their bankruptcy. How can this be fair or right
auto loan
They have jacked me around about my payments, charging me outrageous late fees on a current account. I called and spoke with customer service and have gotten the run around, been lied to, and threatened with repossession. My credit has been hurt by misrepresentation of payments. I've been paid in full and they still reported it as a late payment. They literally charged me 50-60 days late fee for May 23 to June 23rd and tried to tell me it was 60 days late from April which had been current and paid in full. I made a $300.00 payment in May and paid $700.00 in June which equals $6.91 left they turned that into $482.00. Monthly late fees are approximately $25 so there is literally no way I owed that much for two months. I was told on the 19th of July if I paid $175 in addition to my July payment of $506.91 my account would be current. I was foolish enough to pay it. They still have a balance of $813 on my account. I've paid over $13, 000 dollars on a $23, 000 dollar loan and still have a pay off of $17, 972.00 I made a payment at the first of the month and have been double charged for that month not to mention they added an extra late fee BEFORE the due date, I spent two months fighting to get that payment fixed! Three years of grief. I was told if I went with this company that after 6 months, with no missed payments, I could refinance and my interest would be cut in half and that my payments would be $350.00 a month instead of $506.91, when I called they told me no, they don't do that and that refinancing was out of the question. If I had been told that in advance I wouldn't have gotten a loan through them. I have been put through the ringer and lied to like crazy. These people need to be stopped. I struggled through nursing school, barely scraping by on groceries just to make my payments because I was a sucker and believed they would keep their word. I even had a co signer who had a score of 720 who's now got a score of 500.

I had a car loan through Santander bank and I'm following up on class action lawsuit . I became aware of this matter through mail. I bought the vehicle back in 2013 through Santander bank. Santander Consumer USA indeed violated my Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) as well as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Santander Consumer USA, I feel indeed charged me improper fees. Santander Consumer USA, also used "heavy-handed tactics to get me to pay my loan. Tactics in which violated the TCPA such as, making repeated and harassing calls to my phone. And not to mention, that same vehicle that was purchased with the loan is still showing up on my credit report (I got rid of the car 2 years ago).
customer service and process of getting your auto back after you have paid to have loan reinstated.
I had shoulder surgery back in May, and between the doctor bills and the time off of work and reduced work schedule I got more behind. I've been struggling as I go through a separation and financial hardship of preparing for shoulder surgery, for the past 14-16 months. After having my car repossessed I put together the money to get it reinstated, and to be able to get it back. That is when it became even more frustrating.
After paying the monies, I was given 2 phone numbers to call. I don't understand how a big company doesn't know which company they used. Don't you want to know where the vehicle is? Is this done just to frustrate the customer? They sure did know which lot it was at in the end. However I played the game, and called the numbers. Of course you can't get through to a human when you call the numbers just automated, and voicemail. One number for was a Las Vegas company, and just goes to a voicemail. Finally had to go online, check for the phone number, get the name of the company, then call the other number online! Only to find out that Santander instead of issuing a vehicle release only issued a property release.
So 4 hours after spending over $2600 I have to call Santander back. They look and tell me yes they only sent the property release. They "send the vehicle release", and tell me to wait 5 min and then call the company. I wait 15, and still they have not received it.
I call back Santander and get Jasmine. By now I'm beyond frustrated, and yes do I give her every single thing that she might ask for to verify that I am whom I say I am.
Jasmine asks me for:
• Full name
• Year, make, model, color of car
• Year I as born (by the time Jasmine prompts this 3rd item I then rattle off)
• Last 4 of SS
• Zip code of billing address
• Email address
At which point Jasmine with exasperation says that she only asked for the year I was born.
I ask for a supervisor/manager and explain my frustration. Jasmine then says "I'm telling you that you don't need to speak to a supervisor" (my blood starts to boil) then Jasmine tells me "both the vehicle release and the property release were sent at the same time" I try to tell her that that is inaccurate, and Jasmine cuts me off and says that she is going to call the Lot and talk to them because they should have both those items in hand already.
If they knew where my car was all this time why was I having to call all around? Punishment? And since when is it the customer service reps choice whether a customer can speak to a supervisor?!?!?!
Jasmine goes away, and when she comes back Jasmine gives me the phone number for the lot, and inaccurately gave me the last 6 of my VIN # thank goodness the first person gave me 6 numbers. At that time after Jasmine gives me the information, I tell her how frustrated I was with her service and how she handled the phone call, and that she was not accurate in what she said about both being sent. Jasmine said that she was accurate because when I called back the 2nd time they were both sent together.
Never once an apology for her lack of customer service or the frustration that I expressed over everything I had been dealing with all day. At least the person I spoke with before Jasmine, was courteous.
If you don't like dealing with customers and you can't find it within yourself to be courteous, and apologize when your behavior has made the customer frustrated, what are you doing in that job position.
I went online to Santander's website and there is no where you can send in any comments, there are no survey's after any calls that I've ever heard of. It's like they could care less how their customer's feel. I will make sure that the next time I get any kind of loan it will be with a different company.
auto loan
My car was impounded by the City of Chicago during a traffic stop on March 22, 2019. Santander agreed to go and pick the car up and I was told that once they paid the $1600 in impound fees to get the car out, that I could either have the amount added to the end of my loan or I could make a payment arrangement to resolve the debt. The only amount I would have to pay upfront would be the tow truck fees, which were about $225. They picked the car up and when I called to make an arrangement to pay the impound fees, I was told that whoever told me they would add the amount to the end of the loan didn't know what they were talking about and that I had to pay all fees upfront in order to get my car back. They also refused to let me make half of the payment right then while I was on the phone and the next payment the following week. They demanded the entire $1600 upfront and offered no other options. Mind you, all of the calls were recorded supposedly. They then proceeded to say that I had until April 25, 2019 to pay the impound fees and pick the car up. I decided to wait until the next week (way before April 25) when I knew would have the entire $1600. Not even a week later, I get an alert on my credit report saying that a repossession was added to my credit on March 31, 2019. Why would Santander tell me I had until April 25, 2019 to pick the car up, but put the repossession on my credit March 31, 2019? They lied to me about this whole process and never had intentions on letting me get my car back. I was almost done paying the loan off. I still owed about 12K. I want this repossession off my credit due to the fact that I was lied to by Santander about this whole process and was not given the amount of time they promised me to get the car back. If I had until 4/25/19 to get my car, how did it go into repossession on March 31, 2019. My credit was good prior to this and now its poor. I have no vehicle now and basically wasted my money. I also had just made a payment before the car was impounded on March 16, 2019. So everything else was in good standing. After going to court, the judge threw out the tickets that resulted from the traffic stop in the first place and could have ordered my car be released from the impound lot with no payment required, but thanks to Santander that was no longer an option.

Purchased my Vehicle in the year 2012 Santander charge off my auto loan July 31, 2017 I made a payment of over $5000 in August 2017 currently owe $15, 500 on that charge off alone Santander wanted to settle with me for $10, 000 I asked Santander if my loan would qualify under the settlement that they agreed to for $26 million they do not want to research to find out if I am eligible. I still have the vehicle in storage & asked if they would consider a remodification of the remaining they denied my request and are asking for full payment of the charge off.

saying I still owe after loan should be paid off
I got sick and was put out of work and they said to help me they would take a few months payments and add them to the back end of the loan. That would bring my account current . Plus I wouldn't owe a payment until the next month . Well the car should be paid off and now they are saying I still owe $6000 . It was only 3 months of payments and it put my loan up to date at the time . Nobody can tell me why or anything other than it's finance charges on late payments. But it was supposed to be current when I done that .
auto loan
Santander has applied every payment that I have made towards interest that they claim was backed up. They also wrongfully reported delinquencies on my credit report. This company has ruined my life. I had a few extensions and a due date change but I wasn't informed that I would have back interest as a result of that. I also wasn't aware that it was a simple daily interest loan. I am going to seek legal action because this is not right . They are taking advantage of people
subprime car loan
in the year 2014 and I bought a 2005 Ford 500 49 year old car I got a car loan through Santander for $10, 000 they harassment to pay this loan has been unbearable I would like the wall to see what Santander is doing 2 people with low income and disabilities in order to get transportation I myself am disabled I have Tourette syndrome an Associated anxiety obsessive compulsive disorder 7 wing tip car salesman by myself is like sending me to the Ryan's
charge off of hell
I bought a car from Cable Dahmer which was a lemon but I kept the car and drove it for 5 years. I had a accident in the car and was out of work for a bit until I found another car from a family member. I owed Santander under 1100 for the remainder balance of my car. My car was reported as a charge off before the 180 days mark. I talked to someone who told me if, I pay the remark would be removed. 6 years later the mark hasnt been removed and it has made car financing hell for me. People treat me like I didnt pay my car off. I paid over 10k for a car to had my report scared up for 6 years over a grand. Its unbelievable this happened to me. They recieved all of their money and I wanted to go with my life. I was denied when I tried to get another car by this company. 6 years later after I got my credit decent now these guys are sending me letters to buy a car from them. I think its a dirty game for companies to prey on people with bad credit and dont work with the people. Why repo peoples car to sell the debt off to some agency to harass a person with bad credit or no credit. This company had been making money off people faults.

auto loan
I overpaid my loan by at least $1000, that was after they repossessed my vehicle and charged me a $600 towing fee just to reclaim my vehicle. I then called them a notified them of this error after I paid my vehicle off and they responded by sending me a refund of about $2.30, what a joke. How do they get away with this? This company should be nonexistent!
5 year loan, still paying after 5 years and had a balance of 10.000,00
I need help, my home is in foreclosure, because of this loan. The loan was for 19000and I paid 45000 thousand in interest and 35000 in payments. This is inhuman...My house is 90000 thousand, I could of paid off my house...The government need to help us, am a single dad with four boys two 14 year old and two 12 year old and I need a roof over their head, how can I do that when this company is taking all my FUNDS...
loan payments only going interest
I bought my car 2011 hhr in 2013 and have been maki g my payments. Payments are going to interest only. I paid 12, 000 .00 for my car. I checked my payoff ..it is 10, 880.
I owe more for my car than it is worth. My payments have been applied to interest only. I have called ( all customer service speaks broken English . They give me the run around and give me no explanation as to why I owe more than my car is worth. I am trapped and can not refinance or buy a new car due to this loan.
I have sent emails and am told they will review my account then when i call back they say nothing can be down.
This company is a rip off, they need to be stopped. Help! How do i file a lawsuit?

horrible service!
This company sends me a letter regarding a car the was purchased by a friend, and I was supposed to be the co-signatory, but the car dealer made ME the buyer because the woman who was purchasing the car only had 3 years of credit history, which I was furious about. Then today I receive a letter, in English, from Santander Consumer USA and so I call them, and they answer the phone in SPANISH. I believe this company is targeting Latinos in the United States, and that Santander has some suspicious involvement with auto dealers. I have a credit score of 750, and as supposed ‘buyer' they are charging the actual buyer 16% interest! And I even had a bank account with them, but that didn't matter. As soon as we left the dealership I drove to the nearest branch of Santander and closed my account. I'm sick of people getting rich on hard working people! I don't know what this letter is about, because the actual buyer has never been late with a payment.
auto loan for 2015 kia optima
One of the worst decisions I've ever made was signing the paperwork for an auto loan with Santander Consumer USA. The interstate is absolutely ridiculous on a payment of $510.96 each month. The loan is due supposed to be paid off 06/2021 but I still owe over $13, 000 because of the daily interest charges. Whenever I have extra money, I throw it at this loan to try and pay it off asap.
On the occasion when I did pay it late, I would call to let them know what was going on. I would still receive about 4 calls per day, every day of the week. Disgraceful.
car loan interest and payment
Santander charged me $521 for being 7 days late someone called saying they were an employee and I had to send $500 ASAP to avoid repossession and it never went to my account. I have lost my home twice by having to get loans they do not work with you. They call all day with threats and send letter call my job and I can never catch up. I started with a $12, 000 loan and 4 years later I still owe $8000. They need to be stopped it's ilegal.
