Failed to cancel my subscription
Dear Sir or Madam,
I recently noticed my Scribd subscription was not cancelled and Scribd has been charging me for a year despite sending me an email confirmation that my account was closed.
(See pics attached as proof)
Please stop charging me for your service as I do not wish to be a customer of Scribd (confirmed by yourselves over 1 year ago)
Can you please resolve this matter in 10 days from receipt of this message to avoid legal action.
Please refund my money to my account within 10 days.
This is not an isolated incident as I seem to be among over 170 other ex customers with the same complaint on this site alone!

Charging my account after Ending Membership
I have made repeated attempts to cancel my subscription since the October payment but five monthly payment of £11.95 have since been taken. on https://www.scribd.com/account-settings under membership plan there is a "End My Membership" button, despite pressing this numerous times over past five months the subscription has continued to be taken.
I expect a repayment of £59.95.

Still being charged monthly despite me stopping subscription.
I used to be a subscriber of Scribd premium for about a year. Last year however I terminated the premium service since I wasn't using it anymore. I was using my then boyfriend's credit card since his has VISA. He told me today that he's still being charged monthly since then until now for premium despite me stopping the subscription's renewal. I tried to send tickets via the Scribd app but the message wouldn't send.
This is very frustrating as I don't know what else I could do in order to fully terminate the monthly charge.

Unacceptable service of Scribd
I have been charged twice by the Scibd for my first subscription in Feb 11th 2021. After cancellation of my subscription I have been told by Scribd that I will get my refund of my money back to my account. But nothing happened, I didn't get my money back.
Yesterday on 11th March 2021 I have been charged again with same amount of 8, 99$. Although on the website of Scribd shows that my subscription is canceled.
I am looking for a faithful support and help to get my money back to my account.

Unauthorized credit card charges
There has been monthly charges of $13.93 since July 9 2020 on my credit card account. The monthly dates charged are: 08/09/2020...09/10/2020...10/18/2020...11/14/2020...12/13/2020...01/16/2021 and 02/15/2021. I cancelled my old card and I just saw another charge of $13.93 on my account. Can you tell me what this for? The only charge for that amount was billed to Amazon Prime.

I have tried to cancel but there seems to be no way to. When i log in with my email it shows no membership is active so why am I routinely charged 9.99 a month? I'd like to get this cancelled ASAP as I don't want to be charged this when I'm not even receiving any of the benefits nor do I want them. Hi,
I'm extremely confused and frustrated with your service. I cancelled my membership in 2018 and somehow my card, which has changed multiple since then, has been charged twice in the last few months (12/1 and 1/3). I have no idea how you got my credit card number and as far as I'm concerned this is fraud.
Additionally, when I first went to cancel the account, I had to try multiple times and thought it was a user error, but now I'm starting to question that.

Scribd is a theft/scam
As you will see from the many posters, Scribd has some way of signing up people's cards for auto-billing even when they have no idea what the service is. The same is true for me. They will deny it in a response below, but they are liars. I'm pretty sure I would know if I registered for their service. I do not even listen to audio books. I have asked my credit card company for a chargeback based on fraudulent charges.

I found out about the billing accidentally while I was reviewing my banking transactions, and I was surprised to see these payments.

Scribd steals money. Literally.
Scribd outright does not let me cancel my subscription. It does not even let me contact anyone for help. It continously says "Verify your email". I do, and it does not load the page when I verify, so it will not let me contact anyone for help. I canceled over 6 months ago and they have still charged me every month. I am seriously considering suing, not because I want to get rich, but because this is [censored] and they need to be fined and punished for their neglect and financial slavery of their customers. They do this with TONS of people.

I ended my subscription from Scribd on Sep 20 2020 and haven't use Scribd ever since. But on Nov 19 I was charged another USD 9.89 via PayPal by Scribd. I don't think I was charged in Oct so I believe there's something wrong with your account management. I'm here asking for a refund and be never charged again without subscription. Unauthorized charge
Today, I received a notice from Paypal I sent a payment to Scribd. I disputed with Paypal and they said it was authorized.
I went into my account at Scribd and it states I do not have a membership, nor is there history of payments, etc. I have screen shots to prove. In fact, when I click on links it takes me to a page to sign up for membership!
At one time, I did a trial with Scribd but immediately cancelled. I do not like reading books on my computer. I have not used it since.
I emailed Scribd but only received a canned response.

I have the same problems where they refuse to stop charging me. Honestly thinking of putting in a complaint with the Federal Goverment in their customer protections programs because they do this to everyone they can get away with.
